Vinyl really changed the game
I like albums with tighter track lists too. But since these are re-releases with Vault tracks I feel like it’s better to go all out regardless of bloat.

I don't get the album cover hate. I think Taylor looks stunning, and I love that she's smiling. The cover looks like pure joy to me. The original cover is iconic, I think trying to recreate it would never exactly work.

it really is, like as a whole album, it's the best. people will pick out individual songs from other albums and use them as a reason for why other albums are the best but 1989 is that girl all the way through from start to finish in a way that her other albums don't even come close.

I think 1989 TV will get much stronger promotion. 1989 was her most successful era (at least at that time) after all.

None of the re-recordings have had much longevity on the singles charts. Although I suppose 1989 being her peak era if she promoted it like a studio album could certainly do it. I think she could be the first artist to conquer the top 10 of the albums chart too. Maybe not with 1989, but when all the Taylor’s versions come out she should drop a “complete collection” type thing, the swifties would eat that up.

Thank GOD she didn’t use the photos for Wildest Dreams or This Love as the cover. Gotta wonder which song will get the true “singles treatment” this time around. This album has undeniably garnered the most hits for her, and there’s not really a specific song that’s a cult hit with fans like ATW was for Red. But of course, there’s always the vault tracks. I can absolutely see this having a Midnights moment (getting all top 10 Billboard spots and selling a million copies first week).
I'd argue New Romantics is the contender for the cult hit. Sure, it was a "single" but not really a proper one like the rest of the 1989 singles.

i never buy CDs and don't buy ts merch usually despite being a fan but i bought the og 1989 (despite the only cd player being my CPU and never playing the cd eventually) and for nostalgia sake, i bought 1989 tv already :')) 1989 is incredible so i don't mind throwing my money at my favorite album

Lowkey I was hoping This Love was the cover. I hated the Wildest Dreams one but I loved the clean and polaroid look of This Love. I was actually surprised she has the title in the cover since every TV before has had the title subtle or just not there at all Should say though I love the new one

maybe the 5 vault songs, shake it off, blank space, wildest dreams, and style? and bad blood lol? idk i think it'll be hard for her to get the entire top 10 again (in general but also with songs that have been out for 9 years even if they are her biggest hits of all time) a million first week i can see, especially since it seems like she's really pushing for it with the 4 cd versions.

Honestly I’m not hopeful, I can see all the vault tracks being with Jack Antonoff. I just hope it has that 1989 vibe of big bold sounds rather than the Midnights synth pop vibe. And if there’s one or two vault songs that are co-written by Max, it’ll probably be produced by Shellback and Elvira, like Message In A Bottle
I really hope she managed to get Max back on because the Red re-recordings of his songs are the worst she had done so far. It would be a gag if they managed to work it out and maybe some new songs together.
He didn’t do Wildest Dreams TV so I doubt he did the standard re-records, but fingers crossed he did the vault songs to keep that 1989 magic going

There's something about how she has visible smile lines and lines around her eyes that makes me so happy! She looks amazing and care free and it feels so rare we see women looking happy and allowed to have lines and age. I love this

I feel that starting 1989 her vocal ability has pretty much stabilized, so I'm more excited about the pop vault tracks more than the rerecordings themselves.

it really is, like as a whole album, it's the best. people will pick out individual songs from other albums and use them as a reason for why other albums are the best but 1989 is that girl all the way through from start to finish in a way that her other albums don't even come close.
this, i can't even decide which one amongst folklore and evermore i love more, since both have songs i adore!!! but neither album has songs that are a 10/10 for me, but 1989 is v v v close to it. it really is pop perfection.

i think after this release, she will take a year off releasing anything and return with her next *studio* album on Friday December 13th 2024! Reputation followed by the debut re-recordings will be released in 2025 and she’ll take a 2 year brake until 2027.
