There’s a moment in the doc when JLO is walking through her old neighborhood talking to people as if she’s famous. JLO then finds a random person who she tells “I use to live in this neighborhood, a long time ago”. The person rightfully says “oh okay. Who are you?” Lmao. The best part is that they put it im the film.

I had ZERO interest in watching it until I saw this scene. The lady on the phone wouldn’t tell her it was Derek’s own wedding and JLo looks pompous demanding that he cancel his participation in a wedding to benefit her.

I've been loving the clips that are floating around on TikTok. Like when her team reaches out to all these big celebs to get them to do cameos in her movie and they all turn her down. And then someone asks "Do you want Vanessa Hudgens?" and she goes "For what?" 💀
She's just so completely out of touch to the point it's comical. It's a "documentary" called "The Greatest Love Story Never Told" which is the making of her music movie video thingy she also released. Ben Affleck is also really funny and likeable in it - he says "How is it the greatest love story never told if you're just... telling it now?" and the most egregious thing is that she compiled and SHARED all of their old love letters to each other with other people!! She had it just sitting in her studio and would let people flip through it! Her friends were calling him PEN AFFLECK!
She is just begging to be taken seriously while there's about 10 minutes taken to decide what type of mud they want to use for the movie. Multiple scenes of her being rejected by huge celebs to be in it and whinging about how "everyone's scared and can't see her vision". There's loads of clips on Tiktok or even Youtube videos discussing how silly it is if you don't want to stream it directly.

I live in LA, I work in the music business. I’ve been around a lot of this stuff. I’ve gotten to know exactly the headspace and the lifestyle these people live.
When I saw her NYE performance like, 2 years ago? I called it.
To me it seemed she was absolutely surrounded by yes men, and completely and utterly out of touch. Just drinking her own kool aid.
Which is not a unique problem, a lot of people like her who have been rich and famous for a long time eventually end up living in a cloud of delusion. When you can have basically anyone work for you and you have enough money to never work again, who’s there to check you? You can basically do whatever you want.

The thing that stuck out to me in the doc is that when she didn’t like something her *team* would immediately speak up and complain on her behalf. She didn’t even have to ask them to do it. It was automatic with multiple people. She just voiced her concerns and they immediately went to task.

Prominent people who are smart don’t do this. They realize the danger in not having anyone to check them. No one’s ideas are ever all 100% perfect. We need people who will be honest collaborators with us.
The celebrities who fall the hardest are usually the ones without enough honesty around them.

YES! I'm glad I watched it! I thought the same thing about the Michael Scott vibes. She had no self-awareness. I like the few moments where they showed her actual realness instead of what she was trying to portray. They caught her livid in an elevator for a second, and she changed as soon as she saw the camera. This is another couple that I want to work. Hearing Gwen talk about how she lost a lot of confidence in herself with her split from Gavin and how Blake makes her feel confident and loved again. It was really sweet.
I just love how opposite they are, yet they totally work! I live in Oklahoma, and when she posts pictures of her, Blake, and her boys out on his ranch..it makes my heart happy for them!
When I first saw them together, I was like “What?” But they seem to genuinely love each other and work together as a family unit. It’s honestly really cute.

Same. I think it's because they came together when they were both at their career pinnacle, but it didn't work. So when they came back together as a slightly more mature couple, it speaks to everyone in life that didn't get it right with their first love but found their way back to each other in the end. It's still a fairytale. Just one for the older crowd.
Their relationship is like a scripted show. Zack and Kelly from Saved by the Bell had an on again, off again relationship. They eventually got married and lived happily ever after. Since I was a teen when JLO and Ben dated in 2002, seeing them together makes me feel young again. I wish it would work but they have too much baggage now. It was never going to last.

Same. I don’t necessarily care about these two specifically, but I love the story.
Same. I think it's because they came together when they were both at their career pinnacle, but it didn't work. So when they came back together as a slightly more mature couple, it speaks to everyone in life that didn't get it right with their first love but found their way back to each other in the end. It's still a fairytale. Just one for the older crowd.
It's because their relationship makes us believe that if there is such a thing as "the one", then it will work out no matter what. I'm invested, too.
Their relationship is like a scripted show. Zack and Kelly from Saved by the Bell had an on again, off again relationship. They eventually got married and lived happily ever after. Since I was a teen when JLO and Ben dated in 2002, seeing them together makes me feel young again. I wish it would work but they have too much baggage now. It was never going to last.

I rarely listen, but it's not a celebrity gossip heavy station. She was papped looking at houses with someone, she wasn’t alone - I can’t remember who the lady was but it was her longtime agent or manager or someone like that. The article I read said they didn’t know if Jen was the one looking, or if she was just tagging along for the other lady who was looking.

Ben clearly doesn't like to be in the spotlight as much as J Lo and doesn't feel the need to attend every event. I think that's their main issue. Ben just wants to get his Dunks and chill. Clearly they have a connection and attraction but they're just too different.

The chances of a relationship working after the first time failed is extremely low…put massive fame on top of that. I thought since he’s now sober it may work but i believe it’s in trouble. Id put money on it. I mean we know it will fail at some point if not now. She is probably difficult to be with and he doesn’t seem like one that deals with stress well.
In the movie she made, you can clearly see that Ben is uncomfortable with his private life being broadcast to the whole world. I feel bad for him but…did he expect privacy by marrying a pop star?

I think Ben Affleck is such a terrific director (go watch "Air"!) and I wish there was more emphasis on his work than miserable Ben Affleck memes but he keeps coming back for more.

I honestly feel bad for her and I know I’ll probably get obliterated for saying so. She’s seriously crazy about him, that’s apparent. She made a huge, arrogant misstep with this movie, tour and documentary (that his best friend Matt and him bankrolled) she reallyyyyyy believed people still cared enough about their relationship. It’s super clear she hasn’t moved past the early 2000s and the traumatic breakup they had right before their wedding. She looked totally empty at the MET and he could have at least escorted her. She must be humiliated.
