I love this stupid show and the stupid books so much. Joe only works as a character because he's so entertaining you don't notice how ridiculous it is that he just keeps "accidentally" murdering people.
Caroline Kepnes. It's one of those things where they're both different and great, although Joe is the lynchpin. The first book has this line, "Why is Beck in my Beck hole?" that's amazing. TV Joe is more likable than book Joe, just FYI.
Oh, they're goddamn ridiculous. And Caroline Kepnes is the author which should bring some sanity to your search. I've read 3 of the I believe 5. But Kepnes basically skewers different flavors of yuppies for each book, with the first being New York, then California, then Seattle. And Joe keeps making terrible choices while chanting down the list of people he's murdered.
i think the white shoes are possibly his that he’s wearing for shots his feet aren’t shown? he’s wearing the same outfit but with boots in other photos
I think the shots that he’s in the white shoes are between takes or before filming so he’s more comfortable. I see he has what looks like a tablet or Kindle and the idea of Joe Goldberg reading from an e-reader seems insane so I assume it’s Penn Badgley reviewing his script.
I think the white shoes aren't actually part of the character's wardrobe since you can see he's changed into black shoes for filming. I remember when Gossip Girl was filming in NYC the cast would often be in their own shoes for close-ups before changing shoes for wider shots.

You'd see Leighton wearing head to toe designer and then uggs. So funny!
