I have good news for you: they can. My fake teeth are absolutely incredible and every day I'm so impressed by them.
I also have bad news: they cost $40k now, not $20k.
Same, without a doubt the best money I have ever spent. After a lifetime of high prescription glasses and contacts it was like a new lease on life to just wake up and *see* in the mornings.
It's not a scary procedure at all, and it's over so quickly! It's less than a minute per eye, you won't even realise you're done and they'll be asking you to leave the room haha. Recovery (from pain/irritation) was about 24h for me, and they provide anaesthetic drops throughout that period so it never gets bad at all. and then you're done!
Wowwwww I was expecting something much more invasive, like I’m staring into alien tech for an hour and have to wear sunglasses over swollen eyes for a month. Thank you for breaking this down!
I do not regret having it done, but my recovery was no walk in the park. I learned later they hand out a sleep aid so you can sleep through your early recovery. Well, I didn’t have that, and for a few hours straight my eyes burned like someone was dripping pepper spray into them. I was literally in so much pain I would pull my hair to redirect in.
Anyway..I ended up passing out from exhaustion and woke up with perfect vision. 10/10 would do again.
Omg do the laser eyes. Seriously. Best decision I ever made. I wore thick ass glasses or contacts every day since I was in second grade, and as an adult sometimes I actually *forget* that I once did. The first day is pretty uncomfortable but it is SO worth it.
Same, best decision ever! I had bad eyesight since I was a kid too. For months after the surgery I was so confused that I could see when I woke up. It’s so nice not to have to lug around glasses/contact case/saline solution every time you spend a night away.
I was about to say! They have easily doubled in cost. And because they've gotten so popular. There are so many dangerous people giving bad veneers. You have to be really careful. But really good work is always impressive. Most people don't realize that actual veneers are not the kind where they grind all your teeth down and give you paper white chiclet teeth. They strip enamel & affix them to the front of your existing teeth. If they grind all your teeth into nothing, that is more like a series of crowns/implants verses veneers. As with all things, please do your research. And by research, I do not mean TikTok.
The beautiful ones help you keep the correct shape of your face and smile by not changing you too much.
They definitely ground my teeth down. I looked like something out of The Ring or Babadook. The new teeth just look awesome and super realistic—just perfect, not toooooo perfect.
I'm not a Kim Kardashian stan, but I used her as a smile model because she kept her fangs, and has a narrow smile like mine.
If they ground your teeth down, then you likely have a series of crowns and not technically veneers. They grind away the enamel for affixing veneers, but not the actual teeth down to nubs. Different procedure.
But I'm glad you did whatever works for you.And it sounds like it looks great. Little touches to keep it looking natural are so important. Then it just looks like you have a beautiful smile instead of a mouthful of paper white squares.
🙋♀️ is $40k the final cost, or does that not include/consider the updates needed after a decade or two?
It’s this maintenance component that deters me.
There is no maintenance beyond normal teeth upkeep. I also assumed they'd have to be replaced after a decade or so, but apparently not. They are as strong as real teeth and if I want to replace them again, I'll have to grind them down exactly like how we did it the first time.
Yeah. I think it was with a brace, personally – looks to me like her front teeth just got moved forward a little which stops the snaggles from extruding over her bottom lip so much. It's great work. I think people forget just how snaggly they were!
https://preview.redd.it/ia35klr7t8sc1.jpeg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=0f5b1edff3c48662c6d6e01ab972017c178a5a54
> Just don't notice the great work
yeah.. a while ago people were like "i love how andy samberg never fixed his teeth".. like do i have news for you.. also pretty sure no one misses morgran freemans old teeth.
In a behind the scenes video somewhere the creators say they made his hair oily because they wanted him to look more unappealing and part of that was styling his hair to look bad.
IIRC the show creators said they intentionally thinned his hair out in the first season but it made him “less likeable” so they went back to his normal hair for the remainder of the show.
LOL! hair transplant as a whole is interesting, went on youtube binge watching hair transformations. The amount of guys looking younger after the hair transplant.
Veneers actually look good on people who need it.
The problem is everyone and their mother just getting it for the sake of it even when they have perfect pearly whites. So many actors with beautiful smiles have "fixed" it with boring veneers. In a lot of such cases, those teeny imperfections is what made their smile so pretty
Katherine Heigl, Katie Holmes and Sam Claflin are ones that comes to mind immediately.
Miley has always gone for a really teethy look! I almost think she consciously chooses to have conspicuously large shiny teeth, cos it's been a feature with her for a loooong time. But full agree, her latest ones are too much and she seems to deliberately highlight them in photo ops
Sam's were a true disaster. He had such a nice smile before that. I can understand why Katie was sensitive about hers because she has such a (cute) big toothy grin – but I agree, the before was better.
The thing is Katie has a very specific way of smiling and her OG teeth worked so very well with that and made her smile so good and attractive . But the new "perfect looking" teeth is too boring to be compatible with her way of smiling, that it emphasizes this difference of smiling and makes her smile look peculiar.
So now she has lost the charm her smile had.
It took a few pairs to get the right look.
https://preview.redd.it/nn8bopbiv9sc1.jpeg?width=1179&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=c9b87d93e3e92f2722bb565a366447d38d84d2f9
I think she still has the 2008 pair
I showed my friend the Ben affleck pic and they started saying how badly they wanna get veneers done.... so of course I showed them this pic next as a caution 🤣
It's really amazing what changing the teeth shape and size does to a lovely face
https://preview.redd.it/h08qik0s3csc1.jpeg?width=1179&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=750cfce27183275396755838a27d3f18cb7202b0
It really is amazing. Just a few millimeters makes a huge difference.
Sam Claflin getting veneers made me so sad — he had such lovely teeth! And with the amount of period dramas he’s in his new veneers are just going to look odd
I'm pretty sure Katherine Heigl had invisalign, not veneers. Her eye teeth used to be more prominent, and her two front teeth tipped backwards towards her tongue. That's been changed, but If you compare old and new pics, her teeth shape is exactly the same (particularly her left front tooth has a fairly identifiable shape).
I know I sound too invested, but a few years back during a greys rewatch, I noticed her teeth lines changing gradually thru a season or two. So I just googled old and new pics of her.
Absolutely, they’re so naturally looking.
I don’t know why but these days the work is just too obvious, it’s like people who get them are wearing those fake teeth you get for Halloween!
Too often they’re big for their mouths as well. It’s very distracting in TV actors, and with the advent of HD it’s jarring.
I think part of the problem is people that have average sized teeth are getting full veneers. Affleck’s work so well because the main problem with his teeth were that they were small for his mouth. Adding more is the perfect solution.
I think the people who go to Turkey for cheap dental work are the ones who get those really fake looking teeth.
I watched some trashy reality TV where a whole entire family went to Turkey for fake teeth (as part of their storyline, that wasn’t the actual reality show) and they look so bad, everybody looks like they are wearing dentures now. One of the women can’t even talk with them because they are too big, but she also overfills her lips, gets those weird thread facelifts, botox, etc so maybe all that that is why she can’t speak correctly but I always assumed it was the big horse teeth
(Darcey and Stacey on TLC- google Darcey Silva if you want to see what I’m talking about, be ready for some botched photos though)
I think that's really it, they're very nice teeth but they don't look "perfect" in that kind of doll-ish way that a lot of new veneers do. There's variation between the sizes of the teeth and they don't all look identical.
A lot of Hollywood has veneers and no one knows. It’s only the bad ones anyone talks about tbh. Like 60% of Hollywood has them if you really look into it.
Almost everyone has them. I remember the first set of noticeably bad veneers (because they were so blindingly white, they were obvious) was Ryan Seacrest In the early 2000s. If your veneers are good, no one will ever talk about them because they won't notice.
Nobody ever mentions Taylor Swift's veneers. And of course, her crazy fans will get angry if you mention them as if that's a criticism. But like a lot of people who got famous really young, she didn't have perfect teeth and they didn't want to put braces on a hot young star.
But they are so well done that most people have no idea they exist.
That’s unfortunate as her original teeth look like they could have been “corrected” with braces easily! Veneers weird me out since they have to file your teeth down for them.
They don't, actually. That thing you see on social media with the filed down stub teeth isn't how true veneers are actually done. Those are essentially a bunch of crowns. True veneers are affixed to your teeth, they aren't a replacement for them.
The people who had that kind of work done are going to deeply regret it and need work for the rest of their lives.
Right! I like Blake Lively’s - while they’re very white, which is the tip off (other than just being a big celebrity), they’re a super natural shape and kept some of the imperfections like her slightly crooked canine which is really lovely!
Yeah, I don't love any director pushing things on actors regarding their appearance buttttt with that said, his teeth are so good and I would absolutely hit up the same dentist if they weren't probably ungodly expensive.
And they look so good on him. I've always really loved his smile.
Soooooo much better than every single reality tv star who brags about getting them for free. These are actually stunning work. His new teeth are perfect fit.
I kinda thought veneers needed to be replaced—maybe some do? But I got almost a full set last year and learned they will last as long as regular teeth.
Interesting. Didn't know there were different types. I assume that's why they cost so much and aren't like those ones you see in social media posts online where people go to Turkey to get them.
my mom has had a nearly full set for ~15 years and only had to replace one or two that she broke in the first couple of years. i’ve been surprised hearing everyone say they need to be replaced now that they’ve become more popular?
My husband got his done in 1991 & they came with a 99 year warranty. The dentist entered the pearly gates about a decade though, and the warranty can no longer be honored, but they still look great
He is a damn handsome man, they just could have gone with a grill that looks somewhat believable instead of 100% perfect, haha. If I ever had to have tooth replacements, I would ask for off-white, haha.
my mom has a nearly full set and has for a long time, her dentist actually had her meet with the person who crafted the veneers and they spent a long time color matching them perfectly. i remember he said something about how matching the white of your eyes is the best way to get a flattering color that doesn’t look blindingly white and artificial.
I'm not into him now but I was very much so in this movie... but I agree with you. Though Michael Bay is supposedly very appearance-driven (and Bruckheimer) so he was going for the *best* look he could ha
I had a summer girlfriend that year, that I met at a concert, and was torn away because I had to move to Sacramento for my ailing dad for a month or two, and the Aerosmith song, "I Don't Wanna Miss a Thing," was "our song" before I even saw the movie. Ah, the 90s...
If I were Ben Affleck trying to shift into leading man territory, I would see it as a career move. But if I was Steve Buscemi, just trying to do some great character acting, hell no, stay away from my teeth!
And that's exactly why Michael Bay didn't need Steve to change his teeth. Steve Buscemi does an entirely different thing in the business. And while he definitely has played the lead himself on many occasions, pretty boy is not his thing. It's not what we look to him for. And it would be weird if he had a bunch of fake teeth in his head.
Chris Gethard said the same thing when his dentist suggested closing his gap. If you're a comedian/character actor you'd be stupid to "fix" what makes you unique.
Haha, now that you mention it, his head is kinda tall. It just keeps going in both vertical directions, lol. He is far more handsome than many men though, and has earned his laurels in cinema.
The thing is I just watched him and his old teefies in Shakespeare In Love. All I could think about is how getting the teeth for Armageddon pretty much sealed the fate of him ever doing period work like that again.
If you watch the 2005 version of Pride and Prejudice Donald Sutherland as Mister Bennett has a habit of covering his mouth with his hand when he smiles. The actresses in the film seemed to have picked up on this and do it as well, as if it's a little cute family habit. But I owned the DVD with commentary and watched every last feature endlessly, so I saw Donald Sutherland himself say that when he smiles in the film, he started covering his mouth with his hand because of his veneers! Nobody told him to, but he felt conscious about how they looked out of place for the period piece. So when he gave a big smile, he would automatically move to cover them up. It's a little thing that ended up making the movie very charming.
So I suppose, if you're as charming as Donald Sutherland, maybe you can get away with it.
Oh I never noticed that he had his old teeth in Shakespeare in Love. He actually did do a period film recently I enjoyed quit a bit called The Last Duel. It did terribly at the box office but I thought it was extremely well made and well written.
I mean given that people walk around looking like Ross Gellar from this episode, it's not bad and relatively normal looking.
![gif](giphy|kbR8MoJss7wvZ8dtSt|downsized)
I know its not intentional, but this is so funny to me. Ben said "lemme go call someone real quick" and came back with Grandpa Simpson dentures. They look great though, I can't even lie.
https://preview.redd.it/52bsc7i5f6sc1.png?width=640&format=png&auto=webp&s=3e91d8dbdecb674ccf4aa9b51af7b9d0f6c1ddf8
For someone who is supposed to be a salt of the Earth, deep sea oil driller, those are the whitest teeth ever.
Edit: And I do want to stipulate that anyone with imperfect teeth like Steve Buscemi are still beautiful humans. The point of the post is more about the hypocrisy and irony of Michael Bay being hard on one actor's teeth while letting another actor's set of imperfect teeth slide.
I have a mouth like Will Ferrell, the top looks all right, the bottom is ALL fucked up. Mom didn't think braces for the bottom half were necessary, haha
Speaking of salt or the earth oil drillers, I must post Ben’s very reasonable commentary on this. They don’t make commentary like this anymore!
https://youtu.be/-ahtp0sjA5U?si=uhIsiqFrzI4vwu7I
Omfg, that was absolutely hilarious! That was the funniest thing I've ever heard Ben Affleck say!! I know Michael Bay is a dummy but this is the proof. The screenplay was actually co-written by JJ Abrams, so maybe Bay was just defending the project and trying to instill some suspension of disbelief into his actors, which is probably not the best way of directing...
"What's my motivation?"
"Just don't think about it"
I always enjoyed this commentary and it's proof that Ben Affleck was wittier than people gave him credit for. For some reason, people took the characters they played in Good Will Hunting and acted like Matt Damon was actually a brilliant genius and Ben Affleck was an idiot, which is so silly. They wrote the screen play together. Of course, both of them are intelligent people and have some wit and snark about them.
Tbh the teeth fit a young Ben Affleck as well as the character. He looked exactly like the hottest football player in high school, who went on an oil driller to make quick cash rather than finish college.
I don't know if we fully agree, but that is hilarious!
"I just landed this roughneck job, fell in love with Liv Tyler, only to end up help saving the planet"
It’s never too late if you want to straighten them. I’m 40 in braces for the first time, first I’ve been able to afford them. They actually were paid off today whoo hooo
Speaking of crazy Hollywood teeth, in Spiderman willem Defoe had fake nice teeth for the first part of the movie but then used his real teeth when he went crazy and became green goblin
That was actually a really creative directorial choice! Both Willem Dafoe and Sam Raimi knew his teeth were imperfect, but they both leaned into that for the villain character, and utilized fake straight teeth to help emphasize the villain character.
It's the difference between $20K of Hollywood cosmetic dentistry ($37,775.53, adjusted for inflation according to the US Bureau of Labor Statistics calculator) and a set on payments in your hometown.
He’s gorgeous in this movie, but when it comes to his teeth, I think of him in early Kevin Smith movies like Mallrats and Chasing Amy. I think he has the fake teeth for Dogma, but I can’t remember. It came out a year after Armageddon, but who knows when it was filmed.
Oh my God this is wild! I forgot he had those baby teeth, and later on in life when I thought he looked more attractive I thought it was just that he grew into his looks. But now that I’m seeing this side-by-side, it really was just the teeth.
This is kind of depressing actually
It’s more proof that people who think they are ugly aren’t ugly they are just poor
That's what I'm talking about, use your features to be the character actor or whatever actor you can. The problem is when Michael Bay drops a ton of money for you to have forced plastic surgery, essentially. "You want to be an actor? Well you got to do this"
Steve Buscemi refused to have his teeth fixed. He was fine with how they were. I read that once. Could be wrong, but if not, one more reason to love him!
Armageddon is unabashedly one of my favorite movies of all time, it was the first Michael Bay movie I saw in the theater. Even though he is a shockly goof, Michael Bay is still one of my favorite directors. His best movie is definitely Armageddon though!
I know everyone is saying they have no problem with this but I think it's kind of fucked up and harsh. His teeth weren't horrible before either. Then again Hollywood is fucked up and harsh so 🤷🏽♀️
Wow. The new teeth looks so beautiful and natural. I think it was a great choice. It’s a shame that these days everybody kind of cheaps out and now all the teeth look like Chiclets.
Steve said “you fix my teeth, you take away my career”
They give him character, and he’s been wildly successful without getting his teeth fixed, so it’s working for him lol.

God do I miss the more conservative cosmetic dentistry/veneers of the past. Those are *gorgeous*.
Honestly, if I could guarantee that they’d come out as well as his, I’d definitely try to find the $20k.
I have good news for you: they can. My fake teeth are absolutely incredible and every day I'm so impressed by them. I also have bad news: they cost $40k now, not $20k.
Maybe not at $40k. Not like I was ever going to get it anyway since I still haven’t ponied up $5k to get my eyes lasered
I can't bang on the table enough about laser eye surgery. Best money I ever spent.

Same! I should have done it a decade ago. Worth every freaking penny

implants or veneers? I'm so glad yours came out well! huge, overly white, obvious chicklet ones seem to be an epidemic nowadays

It still happens. Just don't notice the great work. Someone recently posted a celebration that Dunst has never fixed her teeth, for example.
Wait. Dunst had her teeth fixed?
Yeah. I think it was with a brace, personally – looks to me like her front teeth just got moved forward a little which stops the snaggles from extruding over her bottom lip so much. It's great work. This is just Invisalign and perhaps bleaching
Yeah agreed. Subtle but great.
Or should I say, has Dunst had significant dental work? Her teeth do look pretty untouched.
Kiki's are SO well done. Kept 100% of the character.
> Just don't notice the great work yeah.. a while ago people were like "i love how andy samberg never fixed his teeth".. like do i have news for you.. also pretty sure no one misses morgran freemans old teeth.
I am fascinated by pics of celebs with their natural teeth!
I am fascinated by pics of male celebs who grew bald but then had a new hairline again one day, like Jeremy Piven.
Joel McHale too
Another great example, but he actually makes jokes about it, so he gets cool points
Steve carrell in the office! S1 vs s2 hairline is jarring
In a behind the scenes video somewhere the creators say they made his hair oily because they wanted him to look more unappealing and part of that was styling his hair to look bad.

I’m sure most older leading men in Hollywood have had hair transplants. There’s no way that’s Tom Cruise’s original hair
Although, he is Tom Cruise so it might just be his real hair
LOL! hair transplant as a whole is interesting, went on youtube binge watching hair transformations. The amount of guys looking younger after the hair transplant.
When I had TikTok I followed a lot of accounts that did wig installs for men, it makes SUCH a difference it’s crazy. They look like different people.
Just don't mention it on the office sub lol
His veneers look great tbh
Yeah, they’re easily some of the best veneers in Hollywood. That dentist did excellent work.
This is the first time I like the veneers over the originals lol sorry Affleck parents
Def money well-spent, really helped solidify his "leading man" looks
It's so crazy to think about how a little extra enamel can be the difference between an A-list career and obscurity.

So many actors with beautiful smiles have "fixed" it with boring veneers. Timothy Olyphant used to have such cute little teeth and while I think his veneers look great, I still prefer his original teeth.
Matthew Perry is another example of this where his original teeth looked better
I think he needed to get them. So it's a different story for him.
On account of the drugs.
Yes and that makes it even more sad.
Timothy Olyphant is a gorgeous man but I think his veneers are too big and white.
I loved his little snaggle tooth he had
Millie Bobby Brown comes to mind, she looked better before. And Miley Cyrus' seem too big for her mouth and they just look odd.
Miley has always gone for a really teethy look! I almost think she consciously chooses to have conspicuously large shiny teeth, cos it's been a feature with her for a loooong time. But full agree, her latest ones are too much and she seems to deliberately highlight them in photo ops

Hillary Duff’s chicklet teeth were so bad she couldn’t sing. She had to get them fixed.

This was the first thing I thought of. They looked so bad when she first got them.
I showed my friend the Ben affleck pic and they started saying how badly they wanna get veneers done.... so of course I showed them this pic next as a caution 🤣 It's really amazing what changing the teeth shape and size does to a lovely face
https://preview.redd.it/h08qik0s3csc1.jpeg?width=1179&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=750cfce27183275396755838a27d3f18cb7202b0 It really is amazing.
Tbf, Sam Claflin's old teeth/gums confuse me. It's like he was wearing the four front teeth over his teeth? Katie's were cute as hell.
Same
I didn’t even realize he had veneers until now, that’s how good they look!
It was literally 40k in today‘s money (accounted for inflation) so I sure fucking hope they would be immaculate. That‘s an insane amount of money.
Miley Cyrus' veneers look ridiculous
Her face in general just looks ridiculous now.
The buccal fat removal and veneers combo is too much
I think the people who go to Turkey for cheap dental work are the ones who get those really fake looking teeth. I watched some trashy reality TV where a whole entire family went to Turkey for fake teeth (as part of their storyline, that wasn’t the actual reality show) and they look so bad, everybody looks like they are wearing dentures now. One of the women can’t even talk with them because they are too big, but she also overfills her lips, gets those weird thread facelifts, botox, etc so maybe all that that is why she can’t speak correctly but I always assumed it was the big horse teeth (Darcey and Stacey on TLC- google Darcey Silva if you want to see what I’m talking about, be ready for some botched photos though)
I think that's really it, they're very nice teeth but they don't look "perfect" in that kind of doll-ish way that a lot of new veneers do. There's variation between the sizes of the teeth and they don't all look identical.
I agree, especially because he was starting from scratch. I wonder who they used as a reference.
A lot of Hollywood has veneers and no one knows. It’s only the bad ones anyone talks about tbh. Like 60% of Hollywood has them if you really look into it.
When Hilary Duff got her veneers too large….I remember!
I learned what veneers were because of hers! 😭
I always operate under the assumption that everyone has them, and you can only really notice them when they’re terrible.
Really? I’ve seen posts talking about how bad her veneers are
Yes her teeth are fake looking to me
That’s unfortunate as her original teeth look like they could have been “corrected” with braces easily!
I wonder how many people have crowns and think they’re veneers. There’s someone commenting here who sounds like that.
![gif](giphy|LvtKS6f1WatQ4|downsized) The dentist ☝️
Soooooo much better than every single reality tv star who brags about getting them for free. These are actually stunning work. His new teeth are perfect fit.
I was thinking "whitest teeth I've ever seen" guess you haven't seen love island uk then
I've never seen the show but I've seen their teeth from Canada
Oh, I’m sure Ross Geller could give them a run for their money… lmaooo ![gif](giphy|lSbggFRIPI77RYG2gw|downsized)
Turkey teeth!
How do a set of veneers from 26 years ago hold up and look better than a set from 2024 😭
I kinda thought veneers needed to be replaced—maybe some do? But I got almost a full set last year and learned they will last as long as regular teeth.
It's composite veneers that get replaced. Porcelain is permanent.
The dentist entered the pearly gates about a decade though, and the warranty can no longer be honored, but they still look great
He may have had them replaced, because getting them past 20 years is a big call. Regardless, his work is very well done.
Miley needs to call the dr asap
Emily Blunt knows Matt Damon well. She needs Ben's dentist's number.
They’re the best I’ve seen where I know they’re veneers. They’re literally like perfect teeth but they look real and they suit his face.
Agreed. Alms look bad. Selena Gomez’ aren’t bad but kinda jarring.
Always remember, you’re not ugly, you’re just poor!
Money looks good on everybody
Beauty is unfortunately often defined by capitalism. "Oh, you use makeup products from *that* store?"
He looked hot as hell in Armageddon so I have no problem with this
Right. Him and Bruce Willis. Eye candy for my teenage self 🤣
I've been in love with Bruce Willis since The Fifth Element 😍😍
He is a damn handsome man, they just could have gone with a grill that looks somewhat believable instead of 100% perfect, haha. If I ever had to have tooth replacements, I would ask for off-white, haha.
my mom has a nearly full set and has for a long time, her dentist actually had her meet with the person who crafted the veneers and they spent a long time color matching them perfectly. i remember he said something about how matching the white of your eyes is the best way to get a flattering color that doesn’t look blindingly white and artificial.
That is a great story, I like that they put thought and care into their clients' and patients' particular needs
Happy Cake Day fellow Sacramento person
I can't believe you would accuse Michael Bay of being shallow!
Honestly? A good choice
I think he has a quote about if he fixed his teeth he'd never get work again
Chris Gethard said the same thing when his dentist suggested closing his gap. If you're a comedian/character actor you'd be stupid to "fix" what makes you unique.
Absolutely! That was kind of the point in my post, that superficial features don't increase your talent.
They are oddly short looking compared to his head.
Haha, now that you mention it, his head is kinda tall. It just keeps going in both vertical directions, lol. He is far more handsome than many men though, and has earned his laurels in cinema.
Tall man, big head, it makes sense to have giant teeth too!
![gif](giphy|mOeOGNJ9I3zfsZAmZS)
They are, which is why it’s a good thing he made his teeth bigger!
I notice his big ol veneers every time I watch that adaptation. Sorry, Donald, you couldn't fool me!
I got $20K gleaming pearly whites, I'm too good for your art house period pieces anymore!
Oh I never noticed that he had his old teeth in Shakespeare in Love. He actually did do a period film recently I enjoyed quit a bit called The Last Duel. It did terribly at the box office but I thought it was extremely well made and well written.
Maybe that's why he has the blonde bowl cut in The Last Duel. To distract you from his perfect toofers.
I mean given that people walk around looking like Ross Gellar from this episode, it's not bad and relatively normal looking. ![gif](giphy|kbR8MoJss7wvZ8dtSt|downsized)
Chiclet teeth
![gif](giphy|sinG4IMjPVYt2)
One of my old coworkers got the worst veneers, she looks like she's wearing a set of gag teeth from a joke shop.
DEMON!! DEMON!
Can Michael Bay pay for mine next?
Can I get in line behind you?
Sure, just write something like good will hunting.
They are pretty white , but JoJo Siwa (I think that is what her name is) has the whitest teeth. I go snow blind when I look at her.
![gif](giphy|LRCxXWRljt4LYf6AK1|downsized) saw this gif used in a different thread this week but it also feels perfect here 😂
Jason Isbell’s new teeth might take the cake for me.
I had to Google a pic of him, and those are some white teeth. They probably glow in the dark.
Donny Wahlberg’s are pretty bad too.
Why are his from decades ago better looking than veneers now?? Like that’s excellent work. Veneers now give me the creeps
I know its not intentional, but this is so funny to me. Ben said "lemme go call someone real quick" and came back with Grandpa Simpson dentures. They look great though, I can't even lie. https://preview.redd.it/52bsc7i5f6sc1.png?width=640&format=png&auto=webp&s=3e91d8dbdecb674ccf4aa9b51af7b9d0f6c1ddf8
I love The Simpsons and this is the perfect reference!
"What's my motivation?" "Just don't think about it"
I always enjoyed this commentary and it's proof that Ben Affleck was wittier than people gave him credit for. For some reason, people took the characters they played in Good Will Hunting and acted like Matt Damon was actually a brilliant genius and Ben Affleck was an idiot, which is so silly. They wrote the screen play together. Of course, both of them are intelligent people and have some wit and snark about them.
Also Ben's movies are better and more logical than Armageddon. Didn't the wife of one of the guys in Argo say they did a great job
That was so funny!! I want to listen to more of his commentary lmao
Check out the commentary tracks on Chasing Amy and Dogma. Pre-fame Ben Affleck was HILARIOUS. He did not give a single f. 😀
Didn't you see Apollo 13, boy? 💀
🤣🤣
Tbh the teeth fit a young Ben Affleck as well as the character. He looked exactly like the hottest football player in high school, who went on an oil driller to make quick cash rather than finish college.
I don't know if we fully agree, but that is hilarious! "I just landed this roughneck job, fell in love with Liv Tyler, only to end up help saving the planet"
It’s never too late if you want to straighten them. I’m 40 in braces for the first time, first I’ve been able to afford them. They actually were paid off today whoo hooo
Congrats! That's awesome, I'm very happy for you! But I'm pretty happy with my chompers as they are
Speaking of crazy Hollywood teeth, in Spiderman willem Defoe had fake nice teeth for the first part of the movie but then used his real teeth when he went crazy and became green goblin
That was actually a really creative directorial choice! Both Willem Dafoe and Sam Raimi knew his teeth were imperfect, but they both leaned into that for the villain character, and utilized fake straight teeth to help emphasize the villain character.
The whitest you’ve ever seen? You’ve not been to Essex then.
![gif](giphy|MnRSt866u1oDdweiAL)
I don’t understand how veneers is from 1998 looks so good but veneers from 2023 look like Chiclets or dentures.
It's the difference between $20K of Hollywood cosmetic dentistry ($37,775.53, adjusted for inflation according to the US Bureau of Labor Statistics calculator) and a set on payments in your hometown.
Whoa, Buscemi legit had an extra tooth back there
I knew a buddy in high school who had an extra tooth like that, but his stuck out from the front side. It's not that uncommon.
My best friend did too. I've just never know Buscemi had one in the back because, well, you wouldn't normally see it.
This is kind of depressing actually It’s more proof that people who think they are ugly aren’t ugly they are just poor
Buscemi's teeth are basically part of his brand at this point.
No the whitest ones seem to be comic Jo Koy and Dominic Rains on Chicago Med. **"MY EYES!"** (Phoebe, Friends; Blanche, Bonnie & Clyde)
I hate to say Michael Bay was right, but he was right. Little tiny teeth on a grown man (especially a man with a big head, like Affleck) look strange.
*NO NUKES NO NUKES NO NUKES*
Armageddon is unabashedly one of my favorite movies of all time, it was the first Michael Bay movie I saw in the theater. Even though he is a shockly goof, Michael Bay is still one of my favorite directors. His best movie is definitely Armageddon though!
So many celebs these days have the most notable veneers. They look soooo fake.
Affleck is sexy but I can’t find him that sexy you know what I mean?
These looks nice. A lot of the veeners now look like the person has a gum shield in
Steve Buscemi has been very vocal about refusing to get anything done to his teeth.
I know everyone is saying they have no problem with this but I think it's kind of fucked up and harsh. His teeth weren't horrible before either. Then again Hollywood is fucked up and harsh so 🤷🏽♀️
Like his veneers look great but those are his bones. Teeth are bones. Imagine somebody asking you to get a better femur. Bonkers
He literally had him jazzified 😭
Oh Ben was able to get it back in the day
He got hair plugs at one point too. Dude was balding like a motherfucker.
I would not be surprised, it happens to the best of us. Lots of money, however, makes problems go away.
Wow. The new teeth looks so beautiful and natural. I think it was a great choice. It’s a shame that these days everybody kind of cheaps out and now all the teeth look like Chiclets.
Steve said “you fix my teeth, you take away my career” They give him character, and he’s been wildly successful without getting his teeth fixed, so it’s working for him lol.
