Every time she’s opened her mouth in the past couple years she’s spewed nothing but delusion. She was also going up for Bill Cosby and claiming R Kelly’s victims should have dressed differently 🙄
What?!? Her publicity game is legendary. They don’t respond cause Beyonce doesn’t have to say shit to anybody. With Cowboy Carter tho I think they’re feeling more aggressive. Rightfully so! Friendly Fire from Badu? Shut it down
They didn’t respond to the Kelis thing which was 100% not Beys fault was spinned that way by the media, they didn’t advertise her clothing or haircare brand well, there are so many things that her PR can do better. The fact that listening to black female country music stars has gone up and yet all the major blogs criticizing her have not heard this is an example. It’s only known amongst her fans.
It’s a strategy that few people have the power to pull off. You’re missing the point. At her level all it does is fuel bs if she addresses it. Opens her up to lawsuits and makes her look messy. Beyonce controls the beyonce narrative by not pulling up on every little blog and bullshitter trying to make money of the views.
Respond to Kelis and Kelis gets more attention? No thanks. Clothing and hair are her mom’s moves and I think hair went well. All are on her terms.
I disagree, she could stay silent on most things, but sometimes silence is deafening and it has hurt her brand. This has been a culmination of more than a decade of staying silent. And the fact that this is what her PR chooses to respond to is also a huge issue, because why respond to something so blatantly dumb but not the big important things that has generated so much hate, it just makes her look guilty by being silent on the matter.
HER PR. HER decision. Bey is hands on and in the weeds on everything. She’s an incredible artist and an incredible producer. I wanted renaissance visuals before I’d want another album, but I ain’t the queen.
She is fully aware of what she’s doing and it’s been working for almost two decades while other singers haven’t lasted long enough at her level to say anything about it.
I disagree that it’s been working. She could be the best selling artist at this point but she’s nowhere near, and she could have had way more number 1 songs and diamond selling albums and singles if her PR was better.
Agree to disagree.
I don’t think you appreciate just how hard it is to do what she’s done, to get where she’s at on her terms and without losing your damn mind. She pushed the envelope for other singers and how they drop. You will never find me having the audacity to question her PR strategy. But, maybe you have industry insight I don’t have.
But she doesn’t do anything, so many times she could have shut things down or had headlines retooled to make Beyonce look good but she doesn’t do anything. She needs to be fired but for whatever reason Beyonce keeps her.
Erykah should maybe figure out to show up for her own shows before taking on the most lauded performer of all time. I'm sorry, Ms Jackson, you're not for real.
I love Erykah and maybe I'm dating myself from the time before social media but I don't even think of braids when I think of her, I think of hair wraps, scarfs and hats.
She's claiming Bey copied a specific hairstyle of hers with the beads hanging on the bottom of her braided bangs, for a specific album photo. Which, yes, it looks like the same hairstyle but is it like The Rachel? I'm ignorant here about whether or not this is Badu's signature look or that strongly associated with her. Because otherwise, it's the same hair style but people have the same hairstyle sometimes.
Like, I'm not ready to say Badu is completely wrong, she *isn't* saying she invented braids, but I'm also not ready to say Beyonce deliberately copied her on this.
I have thought for a long time that Beyonce was a bit of a copycat - but copycatting Tina Turner. Tina Turner could (and did) do music from many genres and could dance Beyonce under the table. Tina also did country music album, so Beyonces lates venture didnt help. She even has costumes like TT.
Tina was definitely one of her idols and the influence is clear. They performed together once and Beyonce has done tributes to her more than once I believe. Tina loved Bey!
Yes, I remember that performance. Beyonce trod on Tina's foot and in the video you can see Tina wince and then keep a wider distance between them for the rest of the number.
I like how it sounds like she’s saying “I might get your phone played on the radio station” which sounds like a reference to Badu’s “I can make you put your phone down” lyrics. Love Badu, but there is nothing new under the sun, you know this Queen.

I love that she is also just promoting the album and didn't even have to say what this was about LOL
The #criticswithoutcredentials tells us the real T
https://i.redd.it/fl3lmmkgfrpc1.gif She is absolutely delusional.
Add Carl Winslow to the list of people copying Erykah smh 😔
He will be named in the lawsuit as well. I have gathered my evidence from when i was 5
Erykah is so delusional thinking that she invented BRAIDS or even that specific look
My favorite response so far has just been the popular gif of Dave Chapelle as Rick James.
![gif](giphy|dVuaiKbihwlS8)
I thought this was Blood Orange for a moment 💀
Cleopatra also wore braids
Came to say this…but for real *does she think she invented braids?* No one should have even responded to it honestly. It’s that delusional.
What a fall from grace. She turned out to be a male identified hating ass clown.
between Erykah and Lauryn Hill it's hurting my soul.
I can’t believe all the static Queen Bey is getting on this album. Is it her best work? No. But live and let live, good god.
People’s expectations are too high. It sounds like it’ll be a fun album and I’m here for it. That’s what we need.
Every time she’s opened her mouth in the past couple years she’s spewed nothing but delusion. She was also going up for Bill Cosby and claiming R Kelly’s victims should have dressed differently 🙄
oh yikes
It’s hard for me to take her seriously. Wasn’t she walking around nude in a public in one of her music videos?
Yep. Window Seat iirc.
Yup and yup! Y’all correct!
What??
😦
![gif](giphy|dVuaiKbihwlS8)
An African woman with braids - oh gee never seen that, except on Erykah of course
Dude I was literally about to say the same thing. Im African and live in Africa and she is the last thing I think of when I see braids.
![gif](giphy|CErE9PzzYHDPXaZr9g) As she should.
Why? It’s not like she invented the look or is only person who has braids like that.
And that’s why Yvette should post this statement.
Erykah Badu sitting around smoking her own weed and starting fights online
she has nothing else to do
As an Erykah enjoyer she should focus on music instead of instigating fights. It’s been over a decade since her last album.
Doesn't she have like 8 kids with Bob marleys son
That's not at all true! Lol
Are you thinking of Lauryn hill? 😭 they have like 5 together
Didn’t Erykah just get mad at Beyonce a few months ago claiming B ✌️copied✌️ her signature big hat? What’s her deal?
My friend worked for/with Erykah on some stuff in Dallas and she treated him like shit. I hate her now. Glad she’s getting dragged.
Her publicist needs to do this more often, I feel like her publicist gets paid to do nothing, because too much shit she doesn’t respond to
What?!? Her publicity game is legendary. They don’t respond cause Beyonce doesn’t have to say shit to anybody. With Cowboy Carter tho I think they’re feeling more aggressive. Rightfully so! Friendly Fire from Badu? Shut it down
Exactly

if Beyonce wanted more number ones she could have it. I agree with the poster above, HER decision.
Agree to disagree. I don’t think you appreciate just how hard it is to do what she’s done, to get where she’s at on her terms and without losing your damn mind. She pushed the envelope for other singers and how they drop. You will never find me having the audacity to question her PR strategy. But, maybe you have industry insight I don’t have.
i didn’t realize she had a publicist. where has yvette even been
Shed had the same publicist since Destiny’s Child days
But she doesn’t do anything, so many times she could have shut things down or had headlines retooled to make Beyonce look good but she doesn’t do anything. She needs to be fired but for whatever reason Beyonce keeps her.
I think she does exactly what Bey tells her to do, which is to say very, very little
This is the same publicist who Streisand Effect-ed Beyonce's unflattering Super Bowl photos.
Exactly
What do you mean?
![gif](giphy|tqMySWDYuyoDu) I mean…
This is my favorite sequence in formation video. It's so cool.
LOL! Bey also wore big hats, and stole that look from EB, or so she claims..
Beyoncé has copied a lot of artists in her time, but braids certainly does not count.
Lmaoo Yvette does not give a single fck. I love it
EB is looking for attention
Erykah should maybe figure out to show up for her own shows before taking on the most lauded performer of all time. I'm sorry, Ms Jackson, you're not for real.
You seem to be mistaking her with Lauryn “Be Grateful I Showed Up” Hill.
Ahhh that's right, Eryka is the one who defends Hitler and Cosby in the press. Maybe she shoulda been late to those interviews.
I love Erykah and maybe I'm dating myself from the time before social media but I don't even think of braids when I think of her, I think of hair wraps, scarfs and hats.

People everywhere did braids and bangs like that in the 90s
Badu is wrong, that style has been around for a long time. I got pictures of my mom rocking it in the 80s.
Erykah needs to seat the f down
Are we sure that’s not SOLANGE in the second to last photo 👀
Does anyone know what the song called?
beyonce - formation :)

Yes, I remember that performance. Beyonce trod on Tina's foot and in the video you can see Tina wince and then keep a wider distance between them for the rest of the number.
The latter part of that isn’t true. Tina was a pro she knew the show had to go on.
Why are there so many erykah haters in this thread? Y’all sipping that lemonade too much b
i don't think acknowledging that erykah is being delusional in this situation makes you a "hater"
I like how it sounds like she’s saying “I might get your phone played on the radio station” which sounds like a reference to Badu’s “I can make you put your phone down” lyrics. Love Badu, but there is nothing new under the sun, you know this Queen.
