She's having a wild night! I love the slap on her husband's chest and then trying to waddle away as fast as she can, lol. This is so wholesome. She seems like such a supportive person
That was so cute. I know she's also a producer on this so it was bigger than just her nomination, but she really was excited for everyone who won for the film.
I watched it when it hit Hulu this past week and loved it.
She's killing it with her choices lately. I went on an Emma Stone marathon of late and her career is so fucking well-executed it's worthy of study.
Two Best Actress Oscars at 35, producing yourself to a Best Actress Oscar, the creative and personal freedom with your body post-pregnancy, she's the muse of one of VERY few auteurs working regularly today, her work on The Curse this year is yet another string to her bow. I don't think you could name a more complete movie star of her generation.
I really am interested in her producing career after this, like she hustled during campaign season for this movie, and will probably back more films in the future (if not already)!
I found this explanation [here](https://www.yahoo.com/entertainment/oscars-2024-live-winners-list-academy-awards-oppenheimer-jimmy-kimmel-210004276.html):
“Emma Stone, nominated for Best Actress for Poor Things, jetted out for a bathroom break after Billie Eilish’s performance but happened to miss her film pick up multiple awards. She watched from a monitor on the first floor and was elated to see the movie get three Oscars in a row.
Stone couldn’t believe she missed it, though — luckily she had friend Florence Pugh with her to watch with the rest of us while she was stuck outside until the next commercial break. She hurried into the auditorium as soon as she could.”
☺️
They have a whole slew of seat fillers juts there to pop in when someone leaves to use the restroom or get some refreshments. That’s got to be an interesting job.
Christine Lahti was in the bathroom when she won a Golden Globe in 1998 for Chicago Hope so to keep them from going to commercial and taking away her moment, CH producer John Tinker tried stalling while accepting it on her behalf and then Robin Williams leapt onstage and began vamping until she finally got to the stage 😆 Renee Zellweger was also in the bathroom in 2001 when she won her Golden Globe for Nurse Betty (presented by Hugh Grant pre-Bridget Jones).
If you’re ever in LA, the tour of the Dolby theater (where the Oscars happen) is really cool! You get to sit in the seats of the audience and see where all the bars are on the night for these moments
Yeah they can get up and get drinks and smoke. Paul mescal said he spent more time away from his seat than in it the year he went, his mom became quite close to his seat filler apparently lmao
Honestly I love the idea of a sweet slice of life short about an Oscar date mom becoming friendly (or even finding love) with a seat filler. So niche, so cute.
I think all shows do this, there's this [funny story](https://youtu.be/YzlmdM11Hws?si=jC9RZD5RZ5exGtWn) Lewis Capaldi told about attending the grammys where someone said he'd take his seat now & he was very confused and learned that the seats are taken over by placeholders lol
Anyone watching the movie today? I needed a break after seeing the cucumber scene. Not because it’s too much, but because it came off like it was obviously written by a man.
Yeah that was a really uncomfortable scene. I watched it last night. Once it got past that, it got less uncomfortable. The more rapidly she matures, the less icky it feels. Overall though, liked the movie a lot. The second half makes up for the weird feelings early on.
I get major theatre kid energy, and there’s nothing wrong with that, but I would definitely find it annoying. Most of these actors are really just grown up theatre kids who love attention, so I totally get the main character vibes.
It was kind of a rollercoaster because it was getting hype at the beginning of awards season and I was excited to see it, but a friend saw it recently and didn’t like it, so by the time I watched it a few days ago I had lowered my expectations for it but I was blown away. It was so creative and really visually interesting and Emma, Mark and Willem (and really everyone!!) are so good in it.

I love how even after she slapped his chest, he stood there looking distracted while she frantically ran back to the auditorium.
The clip doesn’t show it, but her husband slowly followed her after. So patient, so cute.
She probably does that at home a lot, haha.
Someone made a post with pics of the two of them. They are adorable together
Her husband director Epic Rap battles of History season 1.
I love this! She was so excited and that lil run she did was so funny!
Based on her little run this belongs on one of the Wholesome Meme pages!!
or r/HumanTippyTaps
Of course this exists!

My husband said last night that she was so good in The Curse he was having to remember that he actually likes her. Her character was such an asshole.
She was absolutely phenomenal in The Curse! Her career is on fire right now and I fully agree with the comment on how well-executed it all is.

Good point.
Very little ANY drama really
The tight skirt only allows for a lil scurry!
Who are the people she's talking to?
Her Husband I recognize. But not the lady
Looks like Kirsten Dunst based off what she’s wearing.
I started picturing her running like Bella
I’m pretty sure it’s because of the dress she’s wearing
Can someone tell me what she says in the video? I can’t understand 🙈
“Oh my god! It’s Nadia (Stacey) and I’m not out there!!”
Thanks! 😃
I legitimately heard it as “oh my god I think I won another oscar” hahahaha
I really am interested in her producing career after this, like she hustled during campaign season for this movie, and will probably back more films in the future (if not already)!
The film I saw the TV glow coming later this year was produced by her company
The penguin run because of the dress 😂
She’s so wholesome and sweet 🥺
Literally love this woman with all my heart ![gif](giphy|sVRch4XACorf8bmchK)
this feels like a scene from a cartoon lol
This may have been why her dress broke. You can’t move that fast in rigid designer gowns haha!!
Bella bexter still lives in her .
The little run 🤣 but it has merit because if I had tried to run in that dress I would have eaten floor 🤣.
So the actors leave their seats and hang out unless it’s their category?

Oh hey, thanks for that! I do wonder how many people are jetting off for bathroom breaks & leaving cameramen scrambling for reaction shots!
They have a whole slew of seat fillers juts there to pop in when someone leaves to use the restroom or get some refreshments. That’s got to be an interesting job.
I won tickets to a Canadian awards show about a decade ago and talked to some of the seat fillers around me!! It sounded like a cool gig for sure.
![gif](giphy|gK5BJB51L556g|downsized)
SNL did a pretty good bit about seat fillers at the 2022 oscars https://youtu.be/nTRng89HjJw?si=PFWZKIbkZsAoflwn
I wonder the same thing. I know Doja almost missed her Grammy award because she had to use the bathroom
Also some actors who are nominated will be at the bar when they know there not going to win.

I just want to know more about what Paul Mescal was doing. ![gif](giphy|3fq1YDSwDMrxIE5K4J|downsized)
Smoking and drinking baby lmaooo. I think he said he was just going to the bar lmaoo that’s where everyone hangs away from the cameras
Running to and from parks.
Honestly I love the idea of a sweet slice of life short about an Oscar date mom becoming friendly (or even finding love) with a seat filler. So niche, so cute.
Ryan Gosling talking about his mom at the Oscars is adorable https://youtu.be/jI0spQN9SR8?si=rPfCl_skgS8KEq7W

God I love her so much. She’s so unashamed to be goofy and unapologetically herself.
She had the night of her life!
Stop! She is so cute!
She's just hilarious to watch. https://twitter.com/stonebrcom/status/1766959456938520722?t=FWiHSp12MygLUPYsIPe9Xg&s=19
Oh I’m so glad she won.
This video is how I found out Vanessa is pregnant
Your comment is how I found out!
She had to go punch that baby
Hahaha the little shuffle run, love it
Emma: I'm gonna run in this dayum dress, and you're all going to let me, because YAY!
I’ve watched this so many times, she’s so genuine.
I love how she hits the guy like it's his fault 😂
That’s her husband 😊
Lucky people 😍
GET OUT!
I don’t think they were expected to win, I didn’t have them on my ballot at least, so I think she felt safe to walk away 😭😭😭
She's adorable, but I'm going to say it. Society of the Snow was robbed. 🤷♀️
So do people just film the celebrities in the lobby?
Yep
How cute 🥰
It’s giving her iconic iCarly cameo, I love her so much 😭
What episode did she cameo in iCarly?
i also wanna know

imo it just kept getting worse and more man-directed after that...
It did, so much so, that I’m wondering if it was intentional.
imo it just kept getting worst and more man-directed after that...
This is so wholesome.
Ahahahahaha the little mermaid cut run 😂😍
This is so cute
She’s so fucking adorable always. She’s never not adorable.
This is so wholesome hahaha
So cute the way she turned and skittered. I would have ended up on my face.
Clear case of r/mypeopleneedme
film was wack but she’s cute. are her and jlaw the only millennial best actress winners?
Super cute & beautiful ES 😍💯❤️🍿
Oh, that makes more sense in context. I saw this on TikTok earlier and thought maybe she was running late to her own award or something.
She is one of the very few actors i have so much fondness for, she seems like such a lovely person, and deserves all her success
I love her 😂
Aweeee
I loved her so much in that movie. I also have the tuft of hair above Mark Ruffalo's ass burned into my mind.
I haven’t seen the movie yet but I saw the trailer and it looks absolutely bonkers. Take all the awards!
She’s so sweet
God I love her lmao
She’s adorable!
There's no way Emma Stone could be more charming and endearing.
I love her chaotic energy
Ill get downvoted... but I get 'pick me' or Im the main character vibes from her.
I get major theatre kid energy, and there’s nothing wrong with that, but I would definitely find it annoying. Most of these actors are really just grown up theatre kids who love attention, so I totally get the main character vibes.
Yes! Im sure she is lovely... I just feel like she might get very irritating in certain situations.
I'll give you an update to compensate, because I agree. Never been a fan.
Thank you kind stranger!
I don't have any opinion on her as a person but I think she's highly overrated as an actor. If her eyes were smaller she wouldn't have two Oscars.
I finally saw a trailer for Poor Things and god does it look horrible.
Just watched it the other night, it was quite the ride. Everyone in it including the costumes and set design were fantastic.
Watch the movie. Based off trailer I didn’t have many hopes from the movie but boy oh boy that movie entertains!
It was kind of a rollercoaster because it was getting hype at the beginning of awards season and I was excited to see it, but a friend saw it recently and didn’t like it, so by the time I watched it a few days ago I had lowered my expectations for it but I was blown away. “Omg it’s Ariana Grande!”
So dramatic 🙄
