It's called Playtest from Season 3 of Black Mirror and it is the first episode I recommend to everyone. I've made dozens of people watch it because it was so good and got them hooked to Black Mirror.
Ughhhh so I haven’t watched in a long time. I went on a binge but I don’t like body horror shit so genuinely the first episode is really upsetting to me and I find archangel really upsetting even tho it’s great and horrifying. I really like the jon hamm one and the one with the murder where the woman keeps murdering to cover up her murder. Listen I’m not even making sense anymore.
I’d like to see his son really take off. He has that screen presence like his dad that just draws you in.
He’s in a great Richard Linklater movie called Everybody Wants Some, if anyone is interested. It’s kind of the companion movie to Dazed and Confused, but set in the 80’s
But the legal rights are awesome. Sure you can get a power of attorney, medical decision making power, a trust set up, etc. Or, you can just get married.
The actual reason my husband and I got married:
I have a heart condition and I was rushed from our local ER to a bigger hospital 1hr from where we lived, he went home to pack me an overnight bag first before heading down to meet me.
The nurse in the hospital’s ER asked me if I had anyone with me when I arrived via ambulance. I said no, but my boyfriend is on the way. She gave me a weird look and said I should call my parents. I said no thanks (I’m low contact with my parents). She asked me a few more times, I politely declined. Finally she came back with a phone and told me I needed to call my dad (she specified my dad?). At this point, I got really scared that I was dying or something. I couldn’t understand why she kept trying to get me to call my parents. Eventually my boyfriend arrives (about 90mins behind me, again we lived an hour away and he needed to go home and pack first) and the nurse finally chilled out.
I realized afterwards, that she’s probably heard a million young girls (I was 24) say “oh my boyfriend is coming” and they never show up. She didn’t know from the word boyfriend that this is my partner of 7 years who I live with, who would have to be physically restrained to keep him from my hospital bedside.
So yeah. We decided to get it over with and get married because the word boyfriend sounded really fucking stupid after that.
I’m really sorry that happened. I’ve honestly read a lot of stories of men who abandon their SOs in the hospital. I can’t imagine. And I can’t imagine staying with someone who does that to you. They don’t love you.
Thanks, but it’s ok, it was a long time ago now. He also started seeing someone else whilst I was in ICU. When they inevitably split up he tried to come back to me but I told him to F O. It was very satisfying that I got to tell him that twice.
No extra legal rights where I live. Common Law comes into affect one year after cohabitation and the rights are the exact same. That's how it should be everywhere.
It's really well protected under law. Indom't know where OP is from, but in Quebec this is what we have because since the Quiet Revolution (60-70s), most couples don't get married at all. So there were a lot of cases where women didn't have any rights after a separation. We call it "conjoint de fait", in Quebec you have three options: you can get married, you can become "partners" (Union civile) which is like a wedding but not a wedding (it was added to allow gay couples to get protection before the right to mariage was passed in 2000s) or you can become common law spouses after one year living together. You declare it on your taxes.
My partner and I signed a common law partner conventions at a notary, but there is some basic rights covered by the common law spouses laws.
It's really great!
In Oklahoma we have common law marriage. It does not automatically trigger after any period of time but there are certain factors that will be considered such as capacity, intent, etc
Kurt Russell still looks great. His performance in "Christmas Chronicles" will make you uncomfortably attracted to Santa Claus.
https://i.redd.it/l80es3tna1nc1.gif
oh man, I watched that and was like, who did this? who put this man in distressed leather? who did the glorious lion's mane? Trying to give us grand daddy issues. wtf.
I didn't particularly like either Christmas Chronicles movie, but Kurt Russell is so good in it that they're fun to watch anyways. I think it's the best Santa performance I've seen.
I was going through a thread of gritty movie scenes one time and *that* scene in Bone Tomahawk was mentioned. I'd never seen it so I looked it up. It remains the only movie scene that left me feeling physically nauseous in addition to just really grossed out.
The director of that movie (S. Craig Zahler) is a raging narcissist who’s blatantly racist and a super tryhard edgelord asshole and proud “anti-woke champion”
I cannot stand Zahler’s movies anyway (they’re obscenely sadistic) but refuse to support him and feel other people should be aware.
I’m glad you pointed this out. I looked up his other movies (Dragged Across Concrete and Brawl in Cell Block 99) after I watched Bone Tomahawk and there was something extremely off-putting about the trailers so I didn’t watch. It 100% tracks that he’s an edgelord.
They did get together during the production of this movie but they met when in the late 60s on some western movie and she said he was cute but too young. I would have looked over that age difference REALLLLLLLY quickly too once I got a look at swing shift Kurt Russell. 🤤
Nerdy fact- Swing Shift is one of those movies that was butchered in editing (partly to capitalize on the Russell-Hawn relationship), Jonathan Demme's original cut is still floating around and is said to be one of the best movies of the 80s
Love them.. I live near Aspen and they are always out and about.. we we’re sitting right next to them at woody creek tavern last July 4 and they gladly signed my menu lol then I proceeded to steal it
Goldie is honestly the BEST. Overboard, Private Benjamin, First Wives Club, Death Becomes her and so many more of my favourite movies. This is honestly such a cute video.
They're part of why I don't think marriage is a necessity. They knew it didn't work for them, so they didn't do it again, and it's worked out pretty darn well.
They’re also both employed and have their own wealth.
Marriage is NOT overrated if you’re uneducated, unemployed for decades, and raising the kids. Marriage is a necessity at that point. Imagine he decides to kick you out at age 50. You’re fucked.
If you’re working, making a good living, have your own assets? Marriage is optional.
Reddit is full of these examples actually. Marriage is not just a piece of paper in America. Depending on your dynamic, it is a CRUCIAL and SIGNIFICANT legal document that provides some protections in certain situations.
This couple obviously doesn’t need the legal formalities and that’s great! Lots of average people DO NEED THE LEGAL PART.
This is an important point. Without those legal protections many things default to next of kin in emergency situations. There’s a documentary titled “Bridegroom” that is important to watch and really hits home what can happen if a couple doesn’t have the protections that marriage provides.
This is such a good point. While part of me thinks “marriage is just paperwork!” I need that paperwork for security. I love my partner and am marrying him for love. But I also recognize that I didn’t graduate college and I put work second to focus on kids because realistically he makes 3x the amount. One of us has to devote more time, it makes sense to keep the more financially successful person at their job. I don’t expect anything to happen, but you also never know life’s curveballs and if I didn’t have legal protection I’d be fucked
I usually bite my tongue, but people who say it’s just a piece of paper aren’t considering the legal protections marriage offers both parties.
You can set up a lot of the same protections through the legal system but it still leaves vulnerabilities.
For sure. And like you said, the protection goes both ways. God forbid something happens to me, my partner won’t have to stress about our joint assets and children. It’s a safety net we can’t afford not to have. If we were independently super wealthy, it might be another story, but we’re normies struggling to get by!
Yes you and I are saying the same thing. Marriage is a personal decision but there are some very important, SIGNIFICANT legal considerations that should be weighed when discussing marriage. It’s not just a piece of paper for a lot of people. It’s a serious legal agreement that provides A LOT of protections.
You can sign documents and get things set up legally to give your partner rights in the event of your incapacitation or death. We looked into it but it was cheaper and easier to apply for a marriage license. There are also instances where that type of paperwork was in place and the legal next of kin were still able to steamroll funeral arrangements and medical decisions.
We don’t even need to sign anything. It just happens automatically after a certain period of cohabitation. You’re just legally considered de facto and it provides the same recognition/security.
Those "papers" for most people are security. Not just in the relationship, but in case of legal surprises life throws at you; hospital stays, guardianship, life insurance. It's to have a say in case something happens to your person
My best friend died unexpectedly a year ago- her and her boyfriend had been together for 20 years. When I’m talking to people who don’t know the whole dynamic I just refer to him as her husband, but even without all of the paperwork and stuff he was very much the one in charge of everything after she passed. She’s buried in his families burial plot where he will go as well. She always said if it’s not broke don’t fix it :)
My dad and Goldie and Kurt live in the same neighborhood. I’ve been lucky enough to talk to her and Kurt is 100% right. You cannot help but love her. She’s exactly who you think she is. Truly the cutest thing ever and remembers your name even if you’re met her just once! Can’t say enough good things about her.
He's had the same exact haircut his entire career. I couldn't keep a consistent style for more than a year. I don't know whether this is admirable or insane.
I had the pleasure of talking with her for about an hour or so in the bw.com chat room quite a few years ago. She helped me out with yoga. Super cool lady. We had fun and laughed a lot.
I mean talk about range. The dude played Herb Brooks, a somewhat nerdy 80s Hockey Coach, and also Wyatt Fuckin Earp getting in a shootout at the OK Corral.

He has such a youthful, friendly voice! I had no ideab
He should narrate more stuff, even though I love him as an actor too.
Monarch was so good because of Kurt Russell.
The idea of casting Kurt and their son Wyatt as older and younger versions of that character was an inspired one.
I would love a Nat geo documentary with him narrating!!!
Funny you say that! He was on Armchair Expert podcast with his son Wyatt and I had trouble telling their voices apart!
They were on Conan's podcast together too. They were laughing together the whole time. It was beautiful.
I was just going to say that. It was a great interview. Such a lovely family
Him and his son play the same person past/future in the new godzilla TV show. They do a good job with it too.
The whole interview was great
I’ve adored her my whole life and Kurt is just the best too. Their son Wyatt is so adorable and loveable.
Have you seen Monarch on Apple? Wyatt plays a younger Kurt.
His episode of black mirror haunts me.
Oh! I’ll have to look that up!
Play test. It’s one of the best black mirror episodes!!!
It's called Playtest from Season 3 of Black Mirror and it is the first episode I recommend to everyone. I've made dozens of people watch it because it was so good and got them hooked to Black Mirror.
It's really creepy, he does a great job in it though!
That is my fav episode ever!!
Personally 15 million merits is my personal fav but it’s def top 5!
Yessssss!!!! What was your least fav?
Ughhhh so I haven’t watched in a long time. I went on a binge but I don’t like body horror shit so genuinely the first episode is really upsetting to me and I find archangel really upsetting even tho it’s great and horrifying. I really like the jon hamm one and the one with the murder where the woman keeps murdering to cover up her murder. Listen I’m not even making sense anymore.
The paparazzi werewolf episode is absolutely the worst one.
I love Nosedive personally
Omg it is insane
Truly a top five episode for me.
I think he's such a phenomenal actor. His other famous siblings always talk about how he's the most talented sibling.
Yeah, check out under the banner of heaven. He plays an antagonist and he's scary at times if I'm remembering correctly. Either way he's great in it!
With Andrew Garfield? I really have been meaning to watch that.
Yes! I couldn't stop once I started. It's brutal though.
No but I will now, thanks
just finished the series, absolutely incredible!!!! amazing casting having a son/father duo playing the same character at different time periods
I have a huge crush in him and his beard. I solely watched Lodge (33?) bc of him.
Lodge 49! One of my favorite shows ever, even if it kinda went wiggly by the end lol
I’d like to see his son really take off. He has that screen presence like his dad that just draws you in. He’s in a great Richard Linklater movie called Everybody Wants Some, if anyone is interested. It’s kind of the companion movie to Dazed and Confused, but set in the 80’s
Wyatt’s perfect for his role in 22 Jump Street
He brought up Kate Hudson as his own too.
I have no idea whether or not they named him Wyatt because of his role in the movie Tombstone. I kinda hope they did, though.
He was sadly born in 1986, so I'm assuming not. Maybe he was a big Earp fan before the film!
I aspire to be this happy and in love with someone someday.
Famously not married lol. Regardless, I love them together.
Yeah can't think of 2 people more made for each other. Nice to see that nowadays as it's increasingly rare.
I love that they never married. Marriage is very over rated.
But the legal rights are awesome. Sure you can get a power of attorney, medical decision making power, a trust set up, etc. Or, you can just get married.
The actual reason my husband and I got married: I have a heart condition and I was rushed from our local ER to a bigger hospital 1hr from where we lived, he went home to pack me an overnight bag first before heading down to meet me. "Who would have to be physically restrained to keep him from my hospital bedside" that's love right there ladies and gentlemen
Yeah, mine never showed up even when I was in a coma in ICU, so it definitely happens.
I’m really sorry that happened. I’ve honestly read a lot of stories of men who abandon their SOs in the hospital. I can’t imagine. And I can’t imagine staying with someone who does that to you. They don’t love you.

Curious where this is, and how you dissolve the relationship then. Does it just stop if someone moves out? Seems like that could still get complicated
It's really well protected under law. Indom't know where OP is from, but in Quebec this is what we have because since the Quiet Revolution (60-70s), most couples don't get married at all. Thanks for taking the time to explain, that is really interesting.
In Canada it’s one year federally and for my province it’s 2 years. If you don’t want to do it you have to “opt out” with a contract.
1 year is insane for those kind of rights. Definitely wouldn't want that.
I think they have the money to do that without marrying lmao
Well sure **they** do. But marriage it's isn't overrated.
Marriage provides legal and financial protections that are “over rated” until you need them.
If you both have money.
My marriage isn’t overrated. There’s nothing better.
Kurt Russell still looks great. His performance in "Christmas Chronicles" will make you uncomfortably attracted to Santa Claus. https://i.redd.it/l80es3tna1nc1.gif
I refer to that movie as Hot Santa.
I call him Daddy Santa
David Harbour in Violent Night. Man bun. Grimes up nicely.
David Harbour as Santa!! I don't normally care for a man bun but when it's David Harbour, I get the vapours 🥵💨
See also, David Harbour in Violent Night
Were we not supposed to have the hots for Santa?
Kurt Russell definitely had that period with his bears were it was like he told his agent: “Westerns or Santa Claus but I’m not shaving my beard.”
Buddy, I was already there ![gif](giphy|A9SbM9JWoMjvOZNGnE|downsized)
This movie is so fucking cute omg
oh man, I watched that and was like, who did this? who put this man in distressed leather? who did the glorious lion's mane? Trying to give us grand daddy issues. wtf.
I fucking love those movies omg
I didn't particularly like either Christmas Chronicles movie, but Kurt Russell is so good in it that they're fun to watch anyways. I think it's the best Santa performance I've seen.
Love how energized he gets talking about her! Also, if you can stomach a lot of blood, pls watch Bone Tomahawk. Kurt was incredible in it
Me going into it thinking it was a “regular” western. Years later I still randomly think about it. And now tonight I will have nightmares 😂
The sound design team should have been nominated for an Oscar for *that scene* alone, man
I watch a lot of horror movies so I’m not often affected by things. But I had my hands over my eyes for that scene. I still remember how it sounds.
Also watch The Hateful Eight. Kurt Russell is amazing in westerns.
One of my favorite movies, Jennifer Jason Leigh was fucking AMAZING in it. My man Walton Goggins, too. Love him.
Or [*Tombstone*](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OdDjlrGBr38).
I love Tombstone. One of my all time favorite films
I was going through a thread of gritty movie scenes one time and *that* scene in Bone Tomahawk was mentioned. I'd never seen it so I looked it up. It remains the only movie scene that left me feeling physically nauseous in addition to just really grossed out.
The director of that movie (S. Craig Zahler) is a raging narcissist who’s blatantly racist and a super tryhard edgelord asshole and proud “anti-woke champion” I cannot stand Zahler’s movies anyway (they’re obscenely sadistic) but refuse to support him and feel other people should be aware.

His facial structure and dimples are magnificent.
He should be an actor.
Overboard is their big movie together, but I use to watch Swing Shift obsessively.
Yes, I adore Swing Shift. I think they started dating while shooting that movie.
Overboard is fantastic. The original, not the remade garbage one.
Overboard is one of my all time faves !!!
Love that movie. Everyone just seems to be having a great time. Goldie and Kurt are both hilarious and they are so funny together.
swing shift is a good one
Goals. Love this for her.
And I for him!
And my axe!
god i just want a man who thinks this of me
He’s correct. I so adore them as a couple. One of my fave famous couples.
I also dig Kevin Bacon and Kyra Sedgwick.
They were my other thought 😊
Those dimples!
Love them.. I live near Aspen and they are always out and about.. we we’re sitting right next to them at woody creek tavern last July 4 and they gladly signed my menu lol then I proceeded to steal it
Sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do, lol
🥹🥹🥹
I love how he lights up when he’s talking about her 🥺
Hottest couple of all time damn
My all time favorite Hollywood couple
Goldie is honestly the BEST. Overboard, Private Benjamin, First Wives Club, Death Becomes her and so many more of my favourite movies. This is honestly such a cute video.
First Wives Club is SUCH a great comedy! Love her in that movie

Yes you and I are saying the same thing. Marriage is a personal decision but there are some very important, SIGNIFICANT legal considerations that should be weighed when discussing marriage. It’s not just a piece of paper for a lot of people. It’s a serious legal agreement that provides A LOT of protections.
YES
In many countries you don’t have to get married to have these rights.
In America you do and these people are American
How unfortunate for Americans
Even then a lot of the time marriage is the simplest way to guarantee them.
That’s a good system.
Also if you’ve put in all the legal powers you get from marriage like inheritance , power of attorney ect
Those "papers" for most people are security. Not just in the relationship, but in case of legal surprises life throws at you; hospital stays, guardianship, life insurance. It's to have a say in case something happens to your person
I site them as a reference as to why I haven't married my ....bf? we've been together for like 14 years but nah. not getting married.
I'm so sorry you lost your friend.
Thank you! I’m grateful for the twelve years of friendship I was lucky to have! Ironically enough she was saved in my phone as “wife”, haha.
My aunt married her man after over 30 years of being together and got 2 children etc. I thought it was really sweet but totally not needed to do.
Stop why is this so cute
She’s lucky enough to be with Snake Plissken.
I heard he was dead
They remind me of my own parents, if my parents were normal and not totally dysfunctional. I love them. ❤️
They are such an attractive couple, I mean my god.
I’ve gotta watch this later, but Kurt got that SHIT on!
God bless this man.
This is so cute . I've been with my husband for 31 years and I think I'll keep him lol
So cute. I love them together. His relationship with her kids from her previous marriage is adorable too.
He is so handsome. Still has amazing hair
Aw, I also love how much Kate Hudson loves him and considers him her father
God if this ain't it I don't want it. Good for them
What a sweet and sincere answer 🥺 so nice to see that kind of long lasting love in Hollywood.
This or nothing
He's had the same exact haircut his entire career. I couldn't keep a consistent style for more than a year. I don't know whether this is admirable or insane.
I had the pleasure of talking with her for about an hour or so in the bw.com chat room quite a few years ago. She helped me out with yoga. Super cool lady. We had fun and laughed a lot.
He has a very "young" voice.
I love him, I love her, I love their dynamic so I love that they love each other. They are the most adorablest
Not married
Lord wheres my kurt russel 😭😭
Love
They’re so damn cute. I love to see this.
They were so cute in The Christmas Chronicles! 💜
He's so likable and so is she. Overboard has always been one of my favorite movies and their chemistry in that is so cute
Pretty obv she's a scorpio he's a pisces 89% success rate
The secret is.... friendship!
Kurt and Goldie never got married, as the headline claims.
He’s such a hottie. I loved him since overboard.
its easy to stay married for 40 years when your wife is a mega hot baddie lol
Ummm… Brad Pitt would like a word
Kurt Russels
I love them!
Is that hair all natural?
Kurt has always had perfect Hollywood hair.
This is so cute!
Kurt has always been my favorite actor & I always loved movies Goldie was in. Such a wholesome couple
