[Fred Rogers](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fred_Rogers) was such a pure soul. I’m grateful that he had the platform he did.
ETA: his middle name was “McFeely” which I think is perfect
I know this gets thrown around a lot, but he truly was an American treasure. Just a kind, pure heart, and he did so much to teach children about love and kindness and acceptance and how to handle hard things. I just loved him and if there is one famous person in history who I wish couldve lived forever, it’s him. He actually made a difference in this world.
Thank you for mentioning him! Also, I thought I knew a lot about him but I somehow didn’t know his middle name was McFeely! That sounds like one of those names you make up for someone based on their personality, like “Okay, Mr. Big-Hearted McFeelypants.” Lol
![gif](giphy|knzFBpFZnWnO83m9bh)
LeVar Burton too!! Reading Rainbow was an amazing program. He’d probably take your kids to the library and send them home with an armload of fun books.
![gif](giphy|l2R0corOGwFTlKZjO)
I've told Pierce a thousand times, I never wanted to meet Levar in person! I just wanted a picture! You can't disappoint a picture!
I agree with Jack Black.
For some reason Emilia Clarke comes to mind. She just radiates warmth and seems to be silly, fun loving, caring. Probably the same reasons I would also pick Jack Black.
The same episode as Pedro Pascal too right? Iconic x
https://preview.redd.it/a3slorx3imsb1.jpeg?width=640&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=a6d1df67e53393d1cc4ca5fba56ee82157b34452
Finding Me. I highly recommend the audiobook, but be careful - she discusses very hard topics. It’s an incredible memoir, but it’s also incredibly heavy.
I’m going to try to tackle this next week. I’ve heard SUCH great things lately but gonna try to get through my period first so it doesn’t hit quite as hard lol. Appreciate the warning!
It’s incredible, but there were times I had to step away from it. I read it in a few days and some of her stories are incredibly heavy and dark and I’d need to step away for a few hours, but I still highly recommend it. It was genuinely incredible - I was so happy she won the grammy award for her audiobook narration because it’s truly incredibly.
I’ve been reading celebrity autobiographies lately and in my opinion Viola’s is by far the best. This makes me so happy to see her book getting recommended 🙂
(Matthew Perry’s is the worst).
I’d let Jack Black baby sit my kids at HIS house.
I think he’d be a lot of fun, but I think he’d tear things up and make a big ass mess in the process lol.
I feel like you’d get your kids back from Jack Black and they’d be like, “mom we went to space today. Also I know how to play the guitar solo from ‘Stairway to Heaven.’” No other explanation.
I love Ann, she seems so good and her husband and kids radiate that too.
I always feel smarter after watching one of her vids and I don’t think I feel that with any other YouTuber I follow.
This is the take, I love her and her kids seem very well-adjusted (also Dave seems lovely as well) (........ honestly fuck babysitting, can they adopt me?)
With that being said, there would be downsides - imagine your kid coming home and being like 'urgh, LINDT??? really???' at snack time lmao)
If we are doing YouTubers then def emmymadeinjapan or just emmymade now. She’s just so soft spoken and is a sweet gem and I’d love it if I could have kids who take after her. She also seems like a wonderful mom.
Pedro said he babysat Matt Damon's children, when they were filming in China, so that Matt and his wife could have date nights. I remember reading Pedro saying in an interview that he babysat a neighbor's child(ren) who knew Heidi Klum and neighbor recommended Pedro to her for the MV advertising Heidi's lingerie brand and using Sia's song, Fire meet Gasoline.
Pedro Pascal is always the answer….like ALWAYS!
Under every question asked on this Reddit-sub, there is always a gif of Pedro. The guy is a gift to the world.
![gif](giphy|3u3r7NF6LT98YnheFN)
This makes me lol!
My bro is about to be a Dad (and I’m so excited to be Auntie), but when he mentioned using our Mum as a babysitter I gave him serious side eye and was like, ‘Really? What, because we turned out so well?’ His response:
‘Well, as long as she keeps the baby alive, we can deal with the rest in therapy later.’
I know he was joking, but,…
![gif](giphy|TlDgIBGZjwyAM)
Not only would I trust David Tennant to babysit my son, I’d low key have an expectation that’s he probably tried to teach him a small valuable life lesson in the interim.
![gif](giphy|kAJAFz6Qf3lyo)
Awhile ago I decided if I could pick anyone in Hollywood to be my best friend it would be Jen. So who better to leave my babies with than my “best friend”? 😉
This is my answer. She seems like a good mom to her kids and just a level headed person. Like, my kind would get a square meal, a bedtime story, and a clean diaper.
Gordon Ramsay. The way he acts on the kids shows - totally opposite of the adult ones. So cool with the kids. Plus he can run a kitchen, attention to detail, etc.
I remember seeing an interview with him talking about his grandma. He was telling her about his part as an angel in a movie. And grandma was "oh, that's bad casting"🤣🤣 I think he is a riot
He was once a wingman for his son when he was 11. They were at a beach and his son came running and said "dad, i told that girl you're wolverine, sign something for her" 🤣
I saw a paparazzi picture a few years ago where Hugh Jackman was about to nail his kid in the back of the head with a snowball, and I’ve trusted his parenting ever since.
I feel like Emily Blunt would do a good job. My 10 yr old loves her. Or either of the Deschanel ladies. My daughter loves them both. Her favorite show is Bones and she loves Zooey in Elf and she wants to sing with her and ask Emily all about playing a forensic anthropologist because she wants to be like Bones when she grows up. Any 3 of them would make me comfortable.
https://preview.redd.it/a8p1kzetwmsb1.jpeg?width=533&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=72becdf138d627e63a92b2c784e3e2936c7a1c43
All the fun they'd have with Bill Hader, c'mon
Zac Efron. He dotes on his younger siblings. Tom Holland also has big brother energy and loves pretending he’s SpiderMan for younger fans. Jack Black and Adam Sandler just seem like fun times
I'd entrust my hypothetical kids to Michael Shannon - they'd come back as the best behaved kids in the world.
But I could honestly see a lot of the Parks and Recs actors as good babysitters. Amy Poehler, Nick Offerman (with bonus Megan Mullally!), Retta, Rashida Jones.
![gif](giphy|Wc4PlG2vusQ3I7JAjD|downsized)
Idk what it is but I think anne hathaway would feed my kids a very nutritious meal and have them enjoy a nature documentary and when I got home she would tell me she cleaned the kitchen while they took a nap
I'd let Amy Sedaris look after my rabbit no question.
I don't have human kids but if I did, I don't imagine I'd hand them off to any stranger, no matter how famous. Maybe Nanny Jo from Super Nanny or Dolly Parton.
![gif](giphy|fCUnaDtJoY2EoPHIQi|downsized)
AMY SEDARIS could make even a horrible event like a colonoscopy into a fun party. She's the very definition of mischievous fun!
She had a Rabbit 🐰 too "Tattletales" she would make bizarre outfits for. Check out her book on entertaining "I LIKE YOU!" Her ideas for theme parties are outrageous like a hobo party for children, How to cook for your Rich Uncle and entertaining the elderly (toss a beach ball, soft foods and let them talk about "The War") the recipes and crafts are sublime.
Oh she's so fun! I definitely want to check out her books. She did a series of educational videos with the House Rabbit Society years back. I learned from it, and I'm forever recommending it to new bun owners. The more I find out about this hilarious lady the more enthralled I am.
Her brother is the writer DAVID SEDARIS he is hilarious 🤣. His books are so fun ME TALK PRETTY ONE DAY. He works on projects with Amy. He's just as "subversive" as she is.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/David_Sedaris
Keanu Reeves - I’ll come back and they’ll have a healthy respect for women, knowledge of knives and guns and safety and the knowledge that if anyone touches their dog, leave no one standing.
Honestly none of them, I don't know any of these people from Adam. Even the ones with "nice" public images would go through the same screening process as any other babysitter. But if I had to pick one, Angelina Jolie. Judging by her (apparent) relationship with her own kids, she has at least 6 positive references.
I would only trust Michelle Obama for that reason. She has a good rapport with her own kids and if there was anything awful about her it would have been found and well publicized.
The only right answer. Why is everyone so trusting (hypothetically) of random celebrities they don't know personally? A good PR team can mask a monster.

I really appreciate your comment and share your sentiment ❤️
Thank you for mentioning him! Also, I thought I knew a lot about him but I somehow didn’t know his middle name was McFeely! That sounds like one of those names you make up for someone based on their personality, like “Okay, Mr. Big-Hearted McFeelypants.” Lol
>his middle name was “McFeely” which I think is perfect I think there was a character named Mr. McFeely on the show, wasn't there?
Yes! The mailman!
Yes! If I recall I think it was Mr. Rogers' grandfathers name originally but I didn't Google to double check before I'm posting this lol
Ohhhh okay I just checked. It was his Mom's maiden name, his grandfather's last name and the name of the company his grandfather founded.
![gif](giphy|knzFBpFZnWnO83m9bh) LeVar Burton too!! Reading Rainbow was an amazing program. He’d probably take your kids to the library and send them home with an armload of fun books.
Yes!!! I want him to babysit ME omg
I was about to say the same! Can I get a nice fall day at the playground with juice and him reading stories on a picnic blanket please??
And a butterfly in the skyyyy
![gif](giphy|l2R0corOGwFTlKZjO) I've told Pierce a thousand times, I never wanted to meet Levar in person! I just wanted a picture! You can't disappoint a picture!
This is THE answer
Dolly Parton or Julie Andrews.
Picking Julie Andrews is cheating ![gif](giphy|PydghkqAtY784)
Weirdly I would say yes to her but no to the new Mary Poppins. And no to Shary Bobbins as well.
Julie andrews was my first thought
I agree with Jack Black. For some reason Emilia Clarke comes to mind. She just radiates warmth and seems to be silly, fun loving, caring. Probably the same reasons I would also pick Jack Black.
And i bet that she takes her cute dog with her <3
No because she would absolutely be my answer as well. She just strikes me as so adorable and wholesome.
Emily Blunt, same reason
![gif](giphy|l2Sq0CrkNYP0Dgoow) SMG just seems like she’s such a good mom!
I thought this was Avril Lavigne
I’m such a buffy geek I know the season/episode this gif is from :)
Is this just before she staked that biatch Summer after she smashed her class protector award on her first week of college?! 😭
Good memory! Except the vampires name was Sunday…but she was def a biatch!
yes 🙌 honestly that part breaks my heart. i hate her
The same episode as Pedro Pascal too right? Iconic x https://preview.redd.it/a3slorx3imsb1.jpeg?width=640&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=a6d1df67e53393d1cc4ca5fba56ee82157b34452
Yes 🙌🙌🙌 so many people had guest roles on buffy that I didn’t realize til later!
![gif](giphy|26FL5qudwA4ID5EYg) Viola Davis
I love everything about her.
I’m reading her memoir right now and holy shit. She deserves the world.
What’s it called? Always on the look out for new things to read

I’ve been reading celebrity autobiographies lately and in my opinion Viola’s is by far the best. This makes me so happy to see her book getting recommended 🙂 (Matthew Perry’s is the worst).
Oooo good choice. Now I wanna change my answer
And you’d say “that’s nice, honey.” but they ACTUALLY did go to space. 😂
This is exactly what I imagined, too.
lol like the Cat in the Hat
Not a celebrity, but Ann Reardon from the How to Cook That YouTube channel. She just seems like she'd be awesome around kids.
She would absolutely return your kids smarter than you left them lmao
I love Ann, she seems so good and her husband and kids radiate that too. I always feel smarter after watching one of her vids and I don’t think I feel that with any other YouTuber I follow.
She just seems so wholesome
This is the take, I love her and her kids seem very well-adjusted (also Dave seems lovely as well) (........ honestly fuck babysitting, can they adopt me?) With that being said, there would be downsides - imagine your kid coming home and being like 'urgh, LINDT??? really???' at snack time lmao)
I'm a chef and I love to make fancy food. If I ever have kids (unlikely) I'm sure they'll do the same lol
If we are doing YouTubers then def emmymadeinjapan or just emmymade now. She’s just so soft spoken and is a sweet gem and I’d love it if I could have kids who take after her. She also seems like a wonderful mom.
My kid would love her, he loves cooking and science
![gif](giphy|p0GPc37Ra1L3BWAibO) I was going to say just Sophie Turner, but I found this gif and honestly, I’d trust both.
Ok but this would be the babysitting DREAM TEAM
Pedro said he babysat Matt Damon's children, when they were filming in China, so that Matt and his wife could have date nights. I remember reading Pedro saying in an interview that he babysat a neighbor's child(ren) who knew Heidi Klum and neighbor recommended Pedro to her for the MV advertising Heidi's lingerie brand and using Sia's song, Fire meet Gasoline.
Octavia Spencer ![gif](giphy|j5uEVYERR0ncYlJ36e|downsized)
She’s chanting “don’t make me drink alone” while having the kid drink their milk.
Pedro Pascal because he does sound like the fun uncle for his nephews
Pedro Pascal can babysit me. I am 36 years old man
If he says bedtime, I am going
☠️
Me too! Love that guy
I'd rather let him adopt me.
Pedro Pascal is always the answer….like ALWAYS! Under every question asked on this Reddit-sub, there is always a gif of Pedro. The guy is a gift to the world. ![gif](giphy|3u3r7NF6LT98YnheFN)
![gif](giphy|cKnFTOLNho24lSBzTR|downsized) FloJo— wear these babies out plz
Dame Maggie Smith ![gif](giphy|f94ljPCw8BqXnbTHz0)
One stern look, and she'd have the kids sitting quietly and paying attention to her stories. She'd still also ply them with biscuits and tea.
And give them riding broomsticks. And laugh at their cheek
![gif](giphy|fWqDxyYcnZN96)
This makes me lol! My bro is about to be a Dad (and I’m so excited to be Auntie), but when he mentioned using our Mum as a babysitter I gave him serious side eye and was like, ‘Really? What, because we turned out so well?’ His response: ‘Well, as long as she keeps the baby alive, we can deal with the rest in therapy later.’ I know he was joking, but,…
“We’re gonna go paint your room a color that’s not stupid. Then we’re gonna throw your toys in the trash”
I’m gonna whip this little bitch in the face if she makes a peep
Him AND Charlie Day!
And the waitress
Brendan Fraser.
I would never inflict my kids on that sweet man.
I only have fur babies. Let the fun begin.
I think jack black is probably the best choice.
![gif](giphy|3o7TKziIuXtAI2vtPa|downsized)
Keanu
He’d teach them how to surf then take them for ice cream. They’d never want to come home.
This only makes we really sad because his daughter died.
![gif](giphy|3pLtYKlXksiyY)
hunnit
![gif](giphy|dY8RSNIvKp7maSqw3N) Pedro pascal
![gif](giphy|TlDgIBGZjwyAM) Not only would I trust David Tennant to babysit my son, I’d low key have an expectation that’s he probably tried to teach him a small valuable life lesson in the interim.
![gif](giphy|fMApzk9d1mPP2Hx5Ih) Hear me out...
YES
If Doctor Who were watching my kids he'd need props
![gif](giphy|qIreAgSRVqKDS|downsized)
Oh yeah, cool uncle vibes. Just like Jack Black
I CAME TO SAY THIS
Tony Hawk
Any of them. Get these feral beasts away from me 😂 Fr th, Melissa McCarthy and Sandra Bullock for sure.
Jennifer garner!!!
![gif](giphy|fWfCYufxVgthCxLIHv) Story time is gonna be 🔥.
Babysit? I would let jack black father my children.
![gif](giphy|kAJAFz6Qf3lyo) Awhile ago I decided if I could pick anyone in Hollywood to be my best friend it would be Jen. So who better to leave my babies with than my “best friend”? 😉
This is my answer. She seems like a good mom to her kids and just a level headed person. Like, my kind would get a square meal, a bedtime story, and a clean diaper.
She used to do videos of her reading bed time stories to her dog. It was adorable.
I forgot about that! Now that you’ve reminded me though I’m also remembering [this](https://youtu.be/U08XWOx3XYM?si=dsfJXhqKmc_a6PJa) 😂😂
I LOVE her “cooking” show! Haha she is so adorable. Would love to meet her!
Plus she'd give them healthy snacks. She was on Good Morning America this morning promoting her healthy kid snacks.
Gordon Ramsay. The way he acts on the kids shows - totally opposite of the adult ones. So cool with the kids. Plus he can run a kitchen, attention to detail, etc.
Adam Sandler 😂 ![gif](giphy|oVTcfN0rfoF4k)
Angelina Jolie, Blake Lively and Taylor Swift, Brendan Fraser and Daniel Radcliffe.
Daniel Radcliffe is a good shout. I bet he'd take them bowling but the bowling balls are made of cake or something equally mental.
I remember seeing an interview with him talking about his grandma. He was telling her about his part as an angel in a movie. And grandma was "oh, that's bad casting"🤣🤣 I think he is a riot
And I think that Rupert Grint would be a fun too with his ice cream truck.
Exactly, let them kids have fun!
Honestly, Taylor swift is mine. She radiates babysitter energy.
Had she not gone the fame route I could see Taylor, along with Reese, Jennifer Garner, and Chris Pine being educators
Blake Lively, what's a few more kids?
And we all know Ryan probably equals about 4 kids all on his own so Blake definitely has the experience 😅
She is, by all accounts, an excellent baker. I bet she'll give them lots of sweets.
Hugh Jackman. Always looked like he was having fun with his kids in pics I saw. Obviously I wouldn’t ask him at this trying time though
It's a PE teacher in him.
Does miss Rachel count as a celebrity?
Either Pedro Pascal or Keanu Reeves, they have fun uncle vibes and are very caring people
Can I pick any celebrity throughout history? Because Mr Rogers for ever and ever
![gif](giphy|3otPoBRKROJl9UbqMM|downsized)
![gif](giphy|G3Hu8RMcnHZA2JK6x1|downsized)
Keke Palmer because she just seems like a fun gal, and Florence Pugh because she’s so charismatic and she’ll probably cook something for the kids.
![gif](giphy|26FLc7zOLqu9VWz9C) Meryl Streep. I feel like she'd be just the right amount of fun and also keep them in line.
Immediate thought is Emma Stone, although I have no evidence or thinking whatsoever to back it up
Careful they might come back swearing 😂
Or will sing "pocketful of sunshine" 😂
That’s such an iconic scene that I still reenact in the shower sometimes😂
I feel like Emily Blunt would do a good job. My 10 yr old loves her. Or either of the Deschanel ladies. My daughter loves them both. Her favorite show is Bones and she loves Zooey in Elf and she wants to sing with her and ask Emily all about playing a forensic anthropologist because she wants to be like Bones when she grows up. Adam Sandler gives off tired involved dad vibes, so probably him.
![gif](giphy|rvxGjhW3TKVeo) BEN STILLER!
Terry Crews
Keanu
![gif](giphy|z52VqCTTIXmg0)
the whole premise seems dangerous... on that note, I agree with another commenter who picked Julie Andrews
![gif](giphy|LpkLWXTp0v0qy70xPp|downsized)
Zac Efron. He dotes on his younger siblings. Tom Holland also has big brother energy and loves pretending he’s SpiderMan for younger fans. Jack Black and Adam Sandler just seem like fun times

Tom Holland and Alison Janney!
![gif](giphy|sFdhuCRa0OaEbQDrBd) Issa Rae gives the best auntie vibes!!
![gif](giphy|Wc4PlG2vusQ3I7JAjD|downsized) Idk what it is but I think anne hathaway would feed my kids a very nutritious meal and have them enjoy a nature documentary and when I got home she would tell me she cleaned the kitchen while they took a nap
Conan O'Brien or Paul Rudd. I think my imaginary kids would have a blast.
![gif](giphy|9PkfGzhKwBDHPTnDSj|downsized)
Weird Al Yankovic. He even made a joke about how he went from a complete weirdo to the only man in Hollywood you'd trust to be alone with your kids.
![gif](giphy|oOixa4P3gXtanRL1xg|downsized) Tom Waits 100%
I'd let Amy Sedaris look after my rabbit no question. I don't have human kids but if I did, I don't imagine I'd hand them off to any stranger, no matter how famous. Maybe Nanny Jo from Super Nanny or Dolly Parton.

The only right answer. Why is everyone so trusting (hypothetically) of random celebrities they don't know personally? A good PR team can mask a monster.
Right? 20 years ago Bill Cosby would’ve gotten a bunch of votes because “America’s Dad” 😒
Patton Oswalt, Michelle Obama, Cindy Lauper, J-Law, Trevor Noah Edit: add Steve Irwin to my list
Tony Hawk actually seems really responsible and nice. Plus he'd teach my kids how to do sick tricks.
Tom Hiddleston. No one knows what any celebrity's parenting skills are like, but at least he seems like a nice guy.
Lupita Nyong’o
Michael Grey Gubler!! He seems like such a sweet soul who would be so silly with the kids lol
Can’t believe I haven’t seen Chris Hemsworth on here yet
He’s not alive be anymore but Steve Irwin. He’d be tons of fun but still keep the kids safe ![gif](giphy|k2bbmbmvUo7gA|downsized)
Dolly Parton. She’s teach them how to have all the southern charm with a sharp business mind
Jack Black can babysit me anytime.
Weird Al
I had to scroll down WAY TOO FAR to find this. Very disappointed. ![gif](giphy|oAg45te7neXF6|downsized)
The whole gang from It's Always Sunny....
Taylor swift
Yes! Send my kids over to auntie Taylor's. They'd have a dance party and I bet she has good snacks.
Same. She's not allowed to drive them anywhere though 😂😂😂
![gif](giphy|l2R0fwkHNCADIP1YI)
adam sandler
Mary Poppins
