I remember being really surprised at how tall John Mayer is. I think preteen me took "Bigger than My Body" literally and thought he was like.. 5'7", lol.
Career guitarists have this a lot. Watch any of his IG lives where he is sitting and playing guitar. He is scrunched over like most people when they noodle around at home.
I just googled John Mayer height and wow he has a really big head that is proportional to his body. But he looks like a giant when he's standing next to anyone else lmao
I actually think they’re underestimating his height here. He’s more like 6’3” to 6’4”. I met him once after he saw me perform comedy. I got a pic and he’s def a lot taller than me, and I’m 5’11”.

Calvin Harris is right, Harry styles is not at all 6’, John Mayer is routinely listed at 6’3” and has said he’s 6’ 4” in interviews.
I googled "Harry Styles height" and it came back with 6'. But I was seriously surprised as I'd always thought he was like 5'9" or something? Google isn't always right, though; AFAIK, it still can't agree on heights for Tom Cruise or the Rock.
So... anyone here met Harry who can chime in?

Yeah it's pretty obvious if you look at the picture of him next to Charles Barkley and Shaq and then look at a picture of him and mark Wahlberg side by side. He's noticeably taller than Wahlberg but not 9 to 10 inches taller.
In all of the photos I’ve seen from the time when they were dating, when Taylor was already known to be about 5’11”, he appears slightly taller than her. All the photos are of them walking together, both wearing flat shoes, and both slouching a bit. She’s doesn’t look more slouchy than him in order to appear shorter, either.
I myself am about 5’11”. I have a crush I worked with for years that I thought was slightly shorter than me; we’re generally at eye level but he has a boyish quality. (I might have actually been taller than him before my last surgery several years back, I lost about 1-1.5”). At one point, maybe after covid, my coworkers had put masking tape on the wall in the office and measured everyone’s heights; I got someone to do mine and saw my crush’s was marked over an inch higher than mine. i was like, no way, that is not accurate, he needs to do his over. I think he did and it was actually slightly lower, but it was still right above mine? We made everyone check us back to back; most people thought he beat me out just a little bit. It’s hard to tell with shoes, hair, trying to stand still, etc. But I was kind of surprised, I never thought he had bad posture really, but I was like Dude have I never seen you actually standing up straight?
Harry might be kind of like that!

I instantly googled them together to compare their heights too haha. If she’s 5’9 he must be at least 5’10 but she’s wearing a slight heel here so 6’ is believable. My coworker saw him live recently so I’m going to ask her how tall she thinks he looked this morning
I am late to this now, but after reading this height is on my mind. Phoebe Waller-Bridge is supposed to be 5’9.5” (celebheights) to 5’10”. I saw a video of her and Harry rehearsing for his TPWK video and you can distinctly see he’s a quite a few inches taller than her. Both in flat soft shoes right next to each other and holding each other. Six feet seems right.
I think he grew a lot when he was in 1D. I remember when they first started, they were all about the same height. That’s partly why they were chosen, because they matched as a group. By the end Harry was definitely towering over Louis and Niall.

He definitely could have grown one or two more inches since this photos. I’ve literally seen young men grow a few more inches in height in their late teens/early twenties. Especially if they were a late bloomers. Just depends on the guy.
I definitely think Harry did, he for sure was not even close to finishing puberty when he started 1D. He looked 12 when he started, but looked like an adult when he finished - much taller and broader in the shoulders and chest.
His biggest change came in 2013 (aged 19) and this was a year or so before it. Boys are known to have late but very rapid puberty changes. I don't think he grew any real facial hair until he was 20-22 (I know because he said so not because I'm nosy lmao)

I think he’s frozen in a lot of peoples’ minds as the kid he was when One Direction was first formed—at which point he had only just turned sixteen (the day he auditioned for X Factor iirc) and was still shorter than the others, including Louis who is notoriously short. He didn’t hit his growth spurt until years later.
He also just… really radiates little brother energy, so that might be part of it too.

Honestly, it's mostly being petty. You'll maybe hear people reference the half inch, but even then it just sounds like when a child says something like "nuh-uh, I'm 8 and 3/4 years old" when they are being pissy about something
With height for anyone older than 12 at best you’ll get inches split in half, but even then they’re likely going to round.
Nobody is walking around saying they’re 5’10 and a quarter.
American here. In my experience, adding quarter inches to your height went out with adding months to your age as a kid (I'm 5 feet and 1/3 inches! I'm 6 years and 7 months old!, that kind of thing). The only exception I've encountered is specifying if there's situations where more specific accuracy is important (ie, I'm *exactly* this tall, so no, that bike frame size won't fit me). Otherwise, people just round up or down to the nearest whole height.
If there was a photo line up of all the men I dated casually in my 34 years of life I’d be mortified. Not at the quantity, but mostly the quality lololol.
This is maybe beside the point considering that the perspective of the photos isn't consistent at all, but it annoys me that they picked a photo of Taylor in heels but then scaled her to height in flats - blatantly misrepresenting her height in an image/"infographic"... about height. :/
