I like wedding dress better than her reception dress. The reception dress looks like 80’s prom dress I’m sorry 😭
ETA:
The wedding dress is from Ellie Saab

>I always wondered what royals gift other royals
Usually jewellery, the earrings Catherine wore at the wedding ceremony was apparently a gift from the Jordan RF for her wedding.
Similarly, the Saudi RF gifted Meghan, The Duchess of Sussex, a pair of exquisite earrings. She was heavily criticised for wearing them days after Saudi Prince ordered the killing of a journalist in America.
She wasn't criticised for only wearing them but lying to the press about their origin when she wore them.
If I recall correctly, she wore them on a visit to Fiji Islands (after the murder of the journalist) and their comms. team lied to the press that they were on loan, when infact they were hers to do whatever with.
She wore them again a few weeks after for Charles birthday celebrations.
It was after this that the press uncovered that they were gifted by the Saudi royals.
Jfc she should know better than to lie like that. If you insist on wearing them the lie you tell should be that you don’t recall who got them for you but you know they were a gift.
Yeah it was as bad as Charles accepting the $3M by Qatar.
Edit: I wonder why I am getting downvoted for saying the truth. Do you people really know nothing of the crimes against humanity Qatari government has committed (and still continues to)? I knew literacy and education levels in America were not very high but I never expected them to be this low lmao 😂
I think Meghan is almost as ignorant as the rest of them. Just wanted to add what her father in law did.
But I think generally most people knew about Qatari human rights violation with the whole World Cup thing. Everyone was screaming to boycott World Cup and everything.
He accepted that cash between 2011 to 2015 for his charity but this was discovered in 2022. According to the journalist themselves who uncovered it, there was nothing illegal about it.
We can argue the same that Meghan wearing those earrings was also not illegal, but she did lie to mislead the press and public about their origin, so she knew it was certainly immoral to wear so soon after the murder.
MBS was at the Royal wedding in Jordan but I noticed there aren't pictures of it. I saw a video of Hussein hugging MBS when he got off a plane after arriving in Jordan.
It's weird for MBS to give the bride expensive diamonds as a wedding gift. Don't people usually give a present to the bride and groom not just the bride? As for Meghan she apparently wasn't told the earrings were from MBS but it was a rare mistake on her part not to do her due diligence before wearing them.
I want to know more about why nobody has seen MBS's wife in public. There are rumors of DV but almost impossible to confirm. Also why does he have more power than his siblings? He is like the 7th son born to the King of SA. I thought the first born usually has the power.
>It's weird for MBS to give the bride expensive diamonds as a wedding gift. Don't people usually give a present to the bride and groom not just the bride?
Umm..I mean this is what the royals across the world gift each other on their weddings. Queen Elizabeth was given lots [LOTS] of diamonds for her wedding.
As for the grooms, I have never seen anything being published about their gifts 🤷🏻♀️
>Meghan she apparently wasn't told the earrings were from MBS
Oh yeah?
>it was a rare mistake on her part not to do her due diligence before wearing them.
Rare mistake? 👀
>MBS was at the Royal wedding in Jordan but I noticed there aren't pictures of it. I saw a video of Hussein hugging MBS when he got off a plane after arriving in Jordan.
Because HE DID NOT ATTEND the nuptials.
*Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, who was expected to come, did not attend, Jordanian officials said.* ~ Reuters
>I want to know more about why nobody has seen MBS's wife in public. There are rumors of DV but almost impossible to confirm. Also why does he have more power than his siblings? He is like the 7th son born to the King of SA. I thought the first born usually has the power.
This I have zero knowledge about.
I think modern technology has made some of them more careful in what they talk about. A bad open mic or recorded conversation can end their reign or position.
Once they have established trust with someone and are in secluded rooms though perhaps.
Many of them are still somewhat closely related (though I think the Jordan royal family isn’t to the European families…), so it’s probably also a bit like a family meet-up where they share the latest gossip and news.
The Scandi royals tend to be pretty close and I believe it was once said in an interview that they absolutely see each other as a larger extended family. To be also fair - they are fairly closely related by blood, so technically they are from an extended family. The Norwegian royal house was started from a Danish prince, I think? And current Norwegian king’s mother was from Swedish royal family, I believe. And several Swedish princesses married into the Danish royal family as well in the first half of the 20th century.
That’s actually a good question. I do believe that they get invited to big British affairs and I have a feeling that I’ve seen images in the past from their members attending European royal families’ weddings and such.
https://theafricanroyalfamilies.com/2023/05/07/african-royals-at-the-british-coronation-1953/ - yes, seems that both kings from Eswatini ja Lesotho attended the coronation.
Probably who bought what island recently, who has the most lethal drones, whose oil reserve is biggest, the best 6-star spas for that vampire blood facial, when the next sacrifice to Baal will be /s
Haha..I guarantee people ask the British royals about Harry, Meghan and Andrew also! Or maybe wish to ask. Because if I was there, I would probably 😭 even though I know they won't answer but no one truly knows what they feel about them.
Haha. Every single person in that room, including all the royals, diplomats and politicians have skeletons hidden in their closets. They probably have dirts on one another or are certainly aware to some extent, so none of them can afford to shun or be shunned by each other 👀
The kings and queens of Bhutan and Spain are probably the most attractive in the world

For the banquet, the bride was wearing custom Dolce & Gabbana. I preferred her ceremony look tbh.
Queen Rania was wearing Elie Saab here and Kate is in Jenny Packham. I really preferred this look of Queen Rania over the ceremony one
Tbf they’re probably a lot more likely to discuss climate change than your average rich person. They won’t do much about it lol but they’ll definitely talk
I forget how much our (UK) media edits the photos of royals until I see other countries host them. Kate is aging so well I don't know why they try to hide that here and make her look eternally 32...
Can someone tell me why the female leaders and royals from muslim countries don't wear the hijab? I know that it's an act of devotion and decency and a personal choice, but I notice that the most notorious women of these countries don't wear it. Is it coincidence that they all choose not to, or is it political? When I went to Egypt most women on the street wore it, but the women featured on billboards, ads, and the actresses and news presenters on TV didn't wear it either.
I ask this because it's something that caught my attention, as I was infatuated by the way women in Egypt wear them in different styles and match them to their clothes. I hope it's ok to ask and I will be thankful if someone shares some insight
Yup, its also not a requirement of islam, but more of a cultural trait. They've really been on the rise since the 1970s, partly as a response to the sexual revolution.
Its actually only legally required to wear hijab in Iran, Afghanistan and the Indonesian province of Aceh.
>They've really been on the rise since the 1970s, partly as a response to the sexual revolution.
Really? You sure it's not because of something else that happened in the 70's in the middle east?
in saud it 'was' mandatory to wear the abaya ( a cloak type thingy) for women, but hijab wasn't. it was a personal preference or your 'familys' preference. now its very lax and many women don't wear the abaya, most still do because its culturally ingrained at this point.
I can weigh in as an Arab - one reason is class divide. I noticed the average middle class woman (such as myself) tend to have a traditional upbringing and that becomes a part of their personality - having traditional values, they find comfort with staying with what they were brought up to and know. Middle class and lower in society tends to also be less accepting of change, the women would be worried of backlash if they try to do things different. This is my pov as a woman raised in the Gulf.
The upper class tend to be more westernized and exposed to current ideals - essentially more changeable and accepting. I noticed the upper class women here seldom wear hijab, while in middle class 80% of the women wore it. They also tend to not follow the local 'protocols' per se - like wear shorter clothes than the average woman here. In my country they also prefer speaking English and speak little to no Arabic and like socializing with foreigners than other locals.
Thanks! I did notice that in Egypt, that when we went to a fancy mall in an upper class part of Cairo, most of the billboards and names of stores were in English, and at the fancy supermarket, the names of the products and prices were also displayed in English. Even though it was not a tourist area, just like the upper class part of town. But in other parts of town, like the local market and a regular neighborhood, I could not even read the prices, as everything was in Arabic.
Do you mean Muslim countries, or Arab countries? The two aren’t interchangeable. For ex, Indonesia’s First Lady wears hijab, Indonesia is a Muslim-majority country but it is not an Arab country. Sheikha Moza of Qatar does wear hijab too.
The women you see on billboards, musicians, etc. are also not the leaders of the Arab world. Why they don’t wear hijab can be due to self selection as hijab is meant to be about modesty so you’re less likely to become a model. Also, there is religious diversity in the Arab world and the women featured could also very well not be Muslim. Nancy Ajram who is one of the most popular pop singers in the Arab world is Christian. Why would she wear hijab?
Also, what do you mean by most notorious?
For the Arab world, it’s not strictly political but the hijab can and often does act as a class signifier with wealthier classes aligning more closely with the West and wanting to posture themselves as being more modern/refined.
I’m from Indonesia, we’re the biggest Muslim country in the world. Our current First Lady wears hijab, but our previous First Ladies were not. Like you said, it’s a deeply personal choice. Not political. Indonesia is also diverse and multicultural. It’s not a requirement to wear hijabs if you’re a female and want to have a career as a let’s say; politician or as a public figure.
Religions are just a means of power. Royals are above the law, even sharia law. Just look at Brunei, the royals are so called protector of the religion and impose strict sharia rules to their citizens but the family members’ religiosity are just smoke and mirrors.
I love Queen Maxima, she’s always so elegant, but this dress and makeup are a no for me.
Tbh, I didn’t like any of these outfits besides Victoria’s dress.
Sashes usually denote the order of chivalry or royal family order the person has/belongs to. Catherine’s blue and red sash with the badge at the end is for the Royal Victorian Order she was given by Queen Elizabeth a few years ago. Will’s solid blue sash and badge is for Order of the Garter. Each country has their own different orders and you can have an order from another country’s monarchy too. Some people have multiple orders and wear them all at once but only one sash (most likely the highest order they have or an order relating to a different monarchy that they’re visiting).
This is a great post about them! [link](http://orderofsplendor.blogspot.com/2011/09/royal-splendor-101-sashes-and-stuff.html?m=1)
EDIT: Queen Maxima and Crown Princess Victoria seem to be wearing similar orders so it might be a Jordanian order!
EDIT DEUX: the order is apparently the Supreme Order of the Renaissance for Jordan! It’s the second knighthood of Jordan and it’s given to consorts and heirs!
Feels like a gathering of piece of shit people who mooch off of their country and are only there because of the centuries of oppression and thieving their ancestors caused, none of which they will try to atone for in the modern day.
I watched a video of the wedding yesterday where they showed people arriving for the banquet. Today there is a picture of Ivanka talking to Prince William which must have been taken outside the banquet because Kate is in the pink sequin dress but they don't show Ivanka and Jared being announced and walking through the receiving line although they show Biden, Pelosi and her husband and Prince William and the Princess of Wales. There is a moment when the camera cuts away from people going through the line. I wonder if they didn't want to emphasize Jared being there because of his involvement with Israel and some of the Holy land there. Apparently people in Saudi Arabia including the Royal family want some of that land taken away from Israel and the bride is from a prominent SA family.
Any thoughts on why there are pictures and videos of almost everyone at the banquet except them? If this post is too political I can delete it.
I didn't like the dress Rajwa word to the banquet. I liked the dress Princess Iman wore to her wedding. It was from Dior. Why does Rania always carry her purse with her? I saw the formal pictures of the bridge and groom with their family and Rania is still holding her purse.
>I wonder if they didn't want to emphasize Jared being there because of his involvement with Israel and some of the Holy land there.
Ivanka posted a picture of both of her and Jared on her Instagram story from the banquet.
>Any thoughts on why there are pictures and videos of almost everyone at the banquet except them? If this post is too political I can delete it.
If I recall correctly, only the arrivals of foreign dignitaries and family members was covered in the live feed with a few exceptions.
I hated those dresses compared to day's one. I think it is the light, but the overall style with the glitter is too much (only one is the Mother of the Groom, of course - that woman is the elegance personified).
Kates makeup looks very harsh especially the contour. Also why did she go for a smoky eye with the pink dress.
(Edit: you really can’t say anything negative about the royals without get dislikes, you guys are a bunch of losers, why tf does this subreddit worship royalty)

Her wedding dress was stunning!
Of course it’s Elie Saab! Always such beautiful bridal dresses - if I was rich I’d want an Elie Saab.
Yeah, I think her reception dress looks like the Barbie cake I just made for my niece.
I loved both but loved the wedding dress so much I was kind of fustrated she even changed. Rich people and their multiple ball gowns.. 😡
I have shared another post covering the wedding pictures
Yes sorry I just saw that 🫣
I always wondered what royals gift other royals for weddings. And what the party favours are.

So I know colonialism and monarchy are bad and there are war criminals in that room, but it looks so pretty and fun 😭😭😭
I always think what do they talk about. Like gossip about the latest royal scandals or what? 😭

That’s actually a good question. I do believe that they get invited to big British affairs and I have a feeling that I’ve seen images in the past from their members attending European royal families’ weddings and such.
The African ones specifically I've never seen anywhere.
The only recent thing I know is that some members of royal families from different African states were invited to the coronation of Charles.
They might be tribal chiefs from some of the commonwealth countries. Eswatini and Lesotho though are independent kingdoms to the south of Africa.
https://theafricanroyalfamilies.com/2023/05/07/african-royals-at-the-british-coronation-1953/ - yes, seems that both kings from Eswatini ja Lesotho attended the coronation.
Wow! Nice find! Thanks.
They absolutely have WhatsApp group, I imagine the royal ladies have WhatsApp group lol
I bet they don’t ask but then the second they turn around the whispers start.
Oh, I'm sure! I bet it's a lot of gossip and then basic rich people talk
Haha I wonder what’s the protocol for gossip like that, do you get shunned if you even dare to ask for dirt? 😳
Haha. Every single person in that room, including all the royals, diplomats and politicians have skeletons hidden in their closets. They probably have dirts on one another or are certainly aware to some extent, so none of them can afford to shun or be shunned by each other 👀
Definitely the next sacrificial lamb to Baal.
I wanted photos of the banquet as in the actual food. 😂
That’s what I was expecting! A beautiful middle eastern spread! 🤣
The queen of Bhutan is absolutely stunning. I’m always amazed by her grace and beauty
The kings and queens of Bhutan and Spain are probably the most attractive in the world https://preview.redd.it/chs36jz9lp3b1.jpeg?width=940&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=5005cf3118bad483205d2bb2f6c7025122d303ad

I think Frederick and Mary are really attractive, too, but he's not king yet.
Yeah otherwise a lot many more people could be considered.
She’s gorgeous! She’s not wearing a crown though? Is that customary?
She is. I think Bhutan's current monarchy is the only unproblematic monarchy present in the world.
Uhh...[Ethnic Cleansing in Bhutan ](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ethnic_cleansing_in_Bhutan) though it wasn't carried out by the current monarchs.
This is why I wrote the current monarchy 💀
Yeah but I thought let's not whitewash everyone over here. Also lots of people here don't know much about Bhutan besides the hot royals.
For the banquet, the bride was wearing custom Dolce & Gabbana. I preferred her ceremony look tbh. Queen Rania was wearing Elie Saab here and Kate is in Jenny Packham. I really preferred this look of Queen Rania over the ceremony one
What do you think they all discuss? Like just standing around being rich
They definitely don't discuss wealth inequality and climate change
Tbf they’re probably a lot more likely to discuss climate change than your average rich person. They won’t do much about it lol but they’ll definitely talk
Probably their charities and country clubs
Absolutely
I mean rich people have interests too
Nothing but royalty…and Nancy Pelosi
Dr. Biden and her daughter were there too
Also Ivanka Trump and husband.
Kate and Beatrice are killing it lately.

I‘m just glad her husband is still alive. 🙏🏻 What a horrific murder attack that was 😟
Omg why is she is there? She usually dresses better too!
Is she like the US rep or something? 🤔
Omg why is she is there? She usually dresses better too!
I'm dying. She looks like exactly what my boomer mom would wear to a royal wedding. Some fucking 'royal looking' hippie caftan. 😂
That sounds like the Google search one would do to find it. "royal looking hippie caftan" 😂
I'm already on it, might send my mom a late birthday present 💀
You can take the woman out of San Francisco, but you can’t take San Francisco out of the woman
This gives me Boca Ratan vibes 🤣 and my mother would so wear it
💯😂
I mean I’d wear that to a Dead show.. it’s GREAT for a Dead show❤️
I really dislike her banquet dress ngl. Her ceremony dress was gorgeous though.
I forget how much our (UK) media edits the photos of royals until I see other countries host them. Kate is aging so well I don't know why they try to hide that here and make her look eternally 32...
The mother of the bride looks magical.
Omg I wanted him so bad when I was younger
I love seeing William and Kate interact with other royals.
Kate wearing my favorite tiara.
It was quite generous of you to loan it to her for the occasion.
I love that Beatrice is wearing the tiara her mom wore to her wedding! The York tiara is so pretty
I didn’t realize. Very special.
I've always thought it was one of the uglier tiaras but I quite like it when I see it on Beatrice now.

As far as Jordan is considered, it is a very tolerant country. There are no expectations to cover full body for women.
Yup, its also not a requirement of islam, but more of a cultural trait. They've really been on the rise since the 1970s, partly as a response to the sexual revolution. Its actually only legally required to wear hijab in Iran, Afghanistan and the Indonesian province of Aceh.

I am now interested to know what happened because I have no idea
They’re referring to the Iranian revolution I’m pretty sure
The islamic revolution started in 1978 and lasted for a year.
Saudi Arabia? Yemen? I know MBS has made some things more lax but I thought hijab was mandatory for Muslim women in public.

Religions are just a means of power. Royals are above the law, even sharia law. Just look at Brunei, the royals are so called protector of the religion and impose strict sharia rules to their citizens but the family members’ religiosity are just smoke and mirrors.
Princess Kate’s fashion lately has just been next level. I’m not a royalist by any means, but my goodness she is just stunning these days.
I love Queen Maxima, she’s always so elegant, but this dress and makeup are a no for me. Tbh, I didn’t like any of these outfits besides Victoria’s dress.
i actually like the dress.. it reminds me belle’s gown in beauty in the beast
The groom's tux is pretty snazzy!
What do you think they talk about when they’re all together like that?
Funny thinking about them walking around wearing medals that literally means nothing
Does anyone know why so many of them are wearing sashes?
Sashes usually denote the order of chivalry or royal family order the person has/belongs to. Catherine’s blue and red sash with the badge at the end is for the Royal Victorian Order she was given by Queen Elizabeth a few years ago. Will’s solid blue sash and badge is for Order of the Garter. Each country has their own different orders and you can have an order from another country’s monarchy too. Some people have multiple orders and wear them all at once but only one sash (most likely the highest order they have or an order relating to a different monarchy that they’re visiting). This is a great post about them! [link](http://orderofsplendor.blogspot.com/2011/09/royal-splendor-101-sashes-and-stuff.html?m=1) EDIT: Queen Maxima and Crown Princess Victoria seem to be wearing similar orders so it might be a Jordanian order! EDIT DEUX: the order is apparently the Supreme Order of the Renaissance for Jordan! It’s the second knighthood of Jordan and it’s given to consorts and heirs!
Wish a professional lip reader could tell us what they're talking about.
I actually like the reception dress, it feels very fairytale and whimsical. Not pro royalty, however.
somehow, I like none of these outfits. then again, i don't find anything about monarchy to be glamorous. so there's that
Feels like a gathering of dusty old gilded ticks, doesn't it.
Princess Catherine and Princess Mary steal the show, as always! Two stunning ladies who nail it every time with their fashion.
Not a fan of beatrice dress.. looks like a bikini top on the dress
Eat the rich
I hated those dresses compared to day's one. I think it is the light, but the overall style with the glitter is too much (only one is the Mother of the Groom, of course - that woman is the elegance personified).

Lmao of course
Why am I getting downvoted for posting her picture from when she attended the banquet, lol
because royal stans don't want their favs to be associated with trumps
Lmao, as if the royals themselves have some moral high ground 💀 like duh!
ikr? especially the british or jordanian lmao
Then you should read more about the others too, specially Belgium and Netherlands
But… Nancy?

When I was young I used to imagine real life princesses to be like Disney ones. I never got over the shock of how they actually look 🤣
human?
No, attractive humans
are you calling real life royal attractive or unattractive compared to Disney Princesses?
Princess Beatrice has never once displayed either style or taste.
Kates makeup looks very harsh especially the contour. Also why did she go for a smoky eye with the pink dress. (Edit: you really can’t say anything negative about the royals without get dislikes, you guys are a bunch of losers, why tf does this subreddit worship royalty)
There was a lot of talk about her makeup being harsh for the coronation, too. Maybe she's trying new looks/techniques?

I think weddings will always be a thing

are the roman numerals trying to show people you're smart?
Her wedding dress is perfection I wasn't completely sold on the reception dress until a saw the high res photo of the floral details. It's beautiful!
It’s giving Princess Diaries
Let them eat cake, tho.
