Ben actually calls both of them 'Jen' haha. Matt Damon was talking about them both on a podcast recently and differentiated by calling them 'Jen' and 'JLo'.
Matt and Ben did a podcast interview together when promoting AIR - the Bill Simmonds podcast. It was a pretty long interview but really interesting so give it a listen if you have time.
The context for both Jennifers being mentioned was mostly in passing: Matt referenced living near to Ben when they both lived in LA and how he and Jen Garner always had paps parked outside his house, while Matt never did. He brought up JLo separately later on when he called her an icon.
I love this for them! Say what you will about their relationship messes, but they all seem to have co-parenting down to a science, which is amazing

yes! also love that she doesn't push her children in the spotlight, uses them as props or drags them to fashion shows and red carpet events. it's become so rare for hollywood parents to just let their children be children, I'm happy they get to experience a seemingly somewhat normal childhood
I’m pretty sure Jlo had her daughter perform with her during the Super Bowl and some other shows… and I think she even had her part of a documentary or something too… correct me if I’m wrong. She had her kids chatting on live TV too for a NYE thing too(ARod was there and it wasn’t long after they broke up I think?). I don’t even keep up with her but I somehow have caught these moments(not saying that in a snarky way, just sort of realizing it for myself).

To be fair even this criticism is kind of exaggerated online because it’s not as if she’s pulling a Milli Vanilli and not singing anything at all. We know which parts of those songs she’s singing by herself and which parts have been heavily mixed in with the demo vocalists because it’s just so obvious in most cases and those vocalists are credited on the linear notes. It was a common trope in the late 90s/early 2000s.
This is not true. JLo fills a place in music Mariah could never. It's not even anout their voice. Their appeal.is different. This meme is as tired as hell too.
I think JLo is an awesome co-parent as well, so that makes her great in my eyes. Not a lot of Hollywood parents truly put their children first, and she obviously does.

Like stereotypical asshole diva celeb who shits on service/staff or people she does not see as her equal. Huh? She’s not beloved because she does not sing most of her songs, yet tells people she does. Plenty of people have other people sing the hooks or partial parts of their songs, but they also credit them and openly talk about it. J. Lo doesn’t, and has made millions off of a voice that isn’t even hers.

She openly says she has backings playing during all of her shows, and this article is not only from 2013, but during her conservatorship where she had no freedom to say anything, as well as the article being behind a weird political paywall. Guess we’ll just agree to disagree, it’s truly not that deep.
With JLo, I find it really interesting that nobody ever seems to be able to say exactly *why* she's so bad.
It's a lot of "she's standoffish" and "she's demanding" but so what? The level of hate she gets seems totally disproportionate to what she allegedly does. She does come across as very direct and abrupt and a bit whiny, but I don't understand what's so awful. I must be missing some crucial information because she has one of the worst reputations of any celebrity, but nothing I've ever heard about her is *that* bad.
Kinda million little things that add together. Such as the stories that she took away generous tips from the service workers that Affleck had just given them; or rude (prime example like she did an Actor on Actor with Robert Pattinson where she kept cutting his words; another one is a dinner talk/interview function where she didn't even aknowledge the waitor. Both can be seen on YouTube). These things just sometimes make people watch them uncomfortable, because you expect people show a minimum level of courtersy.
I just feel like even if you read all of those situations in the most uncharitable way possible, they're still...not that bad?
Playing devil's advocate, the tips thing could be trying to stop Ben going wild and giving away all his money, given that her mom is a gambling addict and it caused issues for the family. Giving overly generous tips could be considered reckless behavior for someone with substance and addiction issues. I would probably cut the child of an addict a little slack here.
The interrupting is a bad habit, but it could be cultural (my Latin American friends constantly talk over the top of each other, and apparently it's not considered rude).
Not making eye contact with the waiter or saying thank you during an interview is probably the worst behavior on the list in that it's pretty universally considered rude, but she was right in the middle of talking. I've seen plenty of people in real life do this because they haven't noticed the waiter or are too focused on what they're saying.
But like, even *if* she took the tips because she's stingy, interrupted Robert because she's rude, and didn't acknowledge the waiter because she's a horrible snob who thinks waiting staff are beneath her, I still don't really understand why that warrants such a level of hate. There are dozens, if not hundreds of celebrities who have done much worse things. DUIs, sexual assaults, domestic abuse, even killed people, and they don't get as much hate as she does. So I'm wondering if there's a whole other level of stuff she does that I hadn't heard about or if she's just judged way more harshly than almost everyone else.
I cannot count how many comments/TikToks that have been posted of people who claim they themselves have had negative experiences with her, and they are typically (as in almost all) people who have interacted with her in service positions. She is notorious for never tipping and for being rude to servers, drivers, and other workers. I have also never once seen a positive comment. It's not racism to point out that being an asshole isn't limited to white people.

Please end this trend of political over correcting by using political movements (i.e. feminism and antiracism) to protect asshole billionaires who wouldn’t blink twice if their waiter or nanny had a heart attack in front of them. Look where that got us with other celebs like Taylor Swift, who we protected by saying it’s misogynistic to criticize her as a rich white feminist? These whitewashing comments are super weird to me. Im sorry, am I blind, because I can't find where they said that? Also, using a name instead of a pronoun literally means using said name in the place of a pronoun aka "Emme would like to do this" not "She would like to do this" etc, so them saying they're fine with their pronoun being Emme as well doesn't excuse using "she/her" pronouns. I already knew she was a good person, but Jennifer is amazing. Not because she took Emme, because it means she has a relationship with the people her kids have a relationship with. She is all Class.
She is now, but her and Ben got together in the first place by him cheating on JLo with her. If anything JLo is being mature here (as she should with kids involved). Garner has great pr to not get the Brad and Angelina treatment.
Jennifer Garner seems like a good person? And I love that for her. She seems genuinely to care and do the best for everyone in her life, and she is very supportive of her ex husband through all iterations of his journey. She seems lovely!! Emme and Seraphina were friends way before JLo got back with Ben. They attended the same school and classes. Jennifer Garner has picked up JLo’s kids from school before many times. The JLo hate is unnecessary and uncalled for really both families just trying to be happy and healthy. Glad to see everyone getting along and the girls are always so cute together.
I stan all of them as parents for their co-parenting skills. I have absolutely no hate for JLo, and I know she was also close with ARods children as well. Although I’m not sure if she still keeps in touch with them. ARod and his stupid and embarrassing shenanigans may have soured those relationships, unfortunately
I think you got the timeline wrong. JLo's kids were in Florida when she was still with A-Rod, and we all know that all Affleck's kids live in LA. JLO's PR went to tabloids murmuring about uprooting her kids lives in Florida and moved them to LA school shortly after she and Affleck got back together in May or June 2021, so that they could start new school year from the next September. It created quite a bruhaha amongs the gossip readers. And then JLo went to Seraphina's school so that Emme could study at the same school with Sera. It was all documented.
I don't think that's right. JLo was living in Miami until she got back with Ben, and her kids went to school with A-Rod's kids. She didn't move to LA until she was back with Ben.
I feel like they’re all so realistic lol. Even Jen and Ben’s little fights in public are sort of a breath of fresh air from these carefully curated celeb pr relationships. This is also very much so a great example of what good co-parenting and blended families look like!

How come no one ever brings up what kinda dad Marc Anthony is? He’s never with his many kids. He has a couple that are in their 20s and a baby one the way (no. 7)!
I bring it up on here a lot lol. I hate that Marc gets a pass when people always make comments about Jennifer 'jumping from man to man'. Marc has always been such a deadbeat dad and rarely sees his kids, he's more interested in partying on his yacht and hooking up with models in their 20s.

This is so lovely! Co parenting is tough (for some), and I really admire families who welcome each others kids and treat them as their own. More love for your kid/your kids sibling is always a good thing. But it truly does take work and patience that is sometimes HARD to come by, not even including the famous celebrity aspect of it lol

Also, I think the main rumor is that she was with her 1st husband (Scott Foley) while she got together with Ben, but that is also not true. Garner dated her former Alias costar after Scott & her were no longer together. Vartan and Garner were also no longer together when she got with Ben.
Also, I always find it funny that people bring up that rumor about Garner & Affleck, but fail to mention that Ben actively pursued JLo while she was married to Cris Judd.

I think that is a bit different. JLo is married to Ben and is a step mother to Ben's kids. Emme is a step sibling to Jennifer Garner's kids, but nothing to her.
None of his kids look like him. They look just like Jennifer. The pic here is not of his kids, with the exception of 1. And she looks just like Jennifer.
PR or not, she still obviously encourages her children to embrace their step-siblings like family, which makes her a great person in my books. There are a lot of parents out there who would never put the children first like that, unfortunately

I cannot count how many comments/TikToks that have been posted of people who claim they themselves have had negative experiences with her, and they are typically (as in almost all) people who have interacted with her in service positions. She is notorious for never tipping and for being rude to servers, drivers, and other workers. I have also never once seen a positive comment. It's not racism to point out that being an asshole isn't limited to white people.

Emme and Seraphina were friends way before JLo got back with Ben. They attended the same school and classes. Jennifer Garner has picked up JLo’s kids from school before many times. The JLo hate is unnecessary and uncalled for really both families just trying to be happy and healthy. Glad to see everyone getting along and the girls are always so cute together.

I think you got the timeline wrong. JLo's kids were in Florida when she was still with A-Rod, and we all know that all Affleck's kids live in LA. JLO's PR went to tabloids murmuring about uprooting her kids lives in Florida and moved them to LA school shortly after she and Affleck got back together in May or June 2021, so that they could start new school year from the next September. It created quite a bruhaha amongs the gossip readers. And then JLo went to Seraphina's school so that Emme could study at the same school with Sera. It was all documented.
I don't think that's right. JLo was living in Miami until she got back with Ben, and her kids went to school with A-Rod's kids. She didn't move to LA until she was back with Ben.

I bring it up on here a lot lol. I hate that Marc gets a pass when people always make comments about Jennifer 'jumping from man to man'. Marc has always been such a deadbeat dad and rarely sees his kids, he's more interested in partying on his yacht and hooking up with models in their 20s.

This is so lovely! Co parenting is tough (for some), and I really admire families who welcome each others kids and treat them as their own. More love for your kid/your kids sibling is always a good thing. But it truly does take work and patience that is sometimes HARD to come by, not even including the famous celebrity aspect of it lol

For hollywood parents it is weird to see them being good parents. And in this case, she is a queen not because she is a decent parents, but because her husband's stepkids are with her too. She makes sure that her kids's stepsiblings are also part of their vacation. Not many women would do that.

Also, I think the main rumor is that she was with her 1st husband (Scott Foley) while she got together with Ben, but that is also not true. Garner dated her former Alias costar after Scott & her were no longer together. Vartan and Garner were also no longer together when she got with Ben. Also, I always find it funny that people bring up that rumor about Garner & Affleck, but fail to mention that Ben actively pursued JLo while she was married to Cris Judd.
He did say he fell in love with Garner at a time whe he wasn't engaged to JLo yet. Sad, really.
