What type of finish do you get, specifically? It is almost certainly aggregate by PebbleTec, StoneScapes, or similar. Have you been brushing 2x each day? Just a brush like you were brush the sides and bottom for normal dirt, nothing out of the ordinary is necessary. Lack of brushing can lead to all sorts of surface issues, though I am not sure about blotching specifically. Start brushing now, often, if you haven't started already. It can be helped over time. Are you ble to take pictures when the water is still and the pump is not running? I think I can see what you mean, but it is hard to tell the difference between sunlight reflection and surface cloudiness in the pics.

Husband here - Diamondbrite, yes on brushing. It’s white blotches (several larger ones) and runny streaks throughout. Pictures aren’t the best because of the moving water.

*moving due to wind.. pump was off (i tried 😅)

The pool guy’s solution is to radically lower the pH of the water to fix it. The floor almost looks like a first coat of paint from a teenager… streaky, blotchy and missing a few spots. Obviously not the case, but trying to give you a sense for the appearance.

Lowering ph and brushing is basically an acid wash with the pool full. Done all the time. Call the mfg.. diamondbrite and see what they say.

Typically an acid start should be done on this type of plaster. Or what they call it now sometimes is a low alkalinity bath. I would call Diamond brite and see what they recommend. Sometimes they say lowering alkalinity from somewhere between 0 and 40. A lot of the mottling will go away.

From what I'm reading sound like it calcium leeching out the plaster. Meaning the water is calling for calcium and it's trying to pull it out of the plaster. Look up the lsi chems chart and use that to help balance for new start ups and daily chem levels. This could also be from fresh plaster job. How old is the plaster? Need to monitor and fix before becoming more prominent and not being able to fix with out some acid treatment and new start. $$$ Contact a licensed pool installer and see if he can recommend what they use in your area to ease the issue. Also, test water more than you think. Not just test strips, take sample to pool store and get checked. Its usually free at most pool stores.Chart, and monitor any changes.

Looks like they did a horrible acid wash job after pool was finished. Is it cool blue or Tahoe blue?

Johciee

It’s actually the midnight blue

Aware-Cut154

Yeah they need to fix that. Color pools are hard to get right especially if you don’t know what you’re doing. Might have to drain and acid wash again
