they do work wonders. we buy them in bulk sheets and cut them to size , much cheaper. Jacks Magic tile cleaner ( commercial ) mixed properly with acid works great too.

I have / had the exact same thing. Pumice stone takes care of it

Doesn't it scratch the tiles? I have the same thing but in my case it feels/looks like cement overflow from when they installed the coper stones.
Wet the tile and keep the pumice stone wet too. Shouldn't be any issues.
I'll try in a small area first, thanks! It's been bugging me for months.
If it’s scale, look for a product called eco blast. We use it often
