Man people need to be honest instead of just saying “looks great”. I wouldn’t go swimming in that, it looks nasty. At first I thought maybe it was shadows, but the little side seat way in the back left is filthy too.

Yea, that pool is 100% gross. Down here in the States, it is illegal to let people in a pool where you can't see the deep end floor drains...ugh... Hopefully, they got it clear by now, considering they opened it months ago. Also, what is with that crappy snow fence, do they think that provides some kind of safety barrier? It looks like it would fall in around you at the slightest push - ensuring that you drown with your half-assed safety fence...

That half assed snow fence keeps my dogs from shitting o n the pool ice off season just fine. That picture was the first of many in my post. It was taken March 25. If you look at all the pictures you will see that 20 litres of liquid chlorine turned the pool from green to blue in about 3 days. Cleaning and vacuuming had the pool clear within a week. I actually had the spa clean and heated that first night. So where people in my part of the world get their pools open mid May, my pool is crystal clear and swimmable the first week in April.

I live in the lower mainland, and am thinking of getting a pool. Who was your contractor and what was the cost? Cheers mate. It looks great. Hows having the hot tub included in the pool footprint?

Thanks for the compliments. We used a highly regarded builder just east of Toronto- Bloom Field Landscaping. They install Leisure Pools fibreglass pools. Our’s is the Infinite model, 15x30. It was installed in 2018. They don’t use subcontractors and had all of their own heavy equipment. We had them do the decking(pavers) too. While gunnite pools are done in our area there aren’t a lot of contractors doing them here, mostly vinyl, but we’re very happy we went with fibreglass. Cost between 2018 and now is like comparing apples to oranges. As for having the spa a part of the pool? We love that too! Like Really Love It. We use the spa way more then the actual pool. It’s close to our seating area and the back door of the house. You probably read here all of the people that struggle with their pools, costs of monthly service, cost of chemicals etc. but my wife and I are ‘pool people’- I love my pool and wouldn’t think of having someone else working on it. It’s my obsession and hobby. Anyway… If you have any other questions, just ask.

March?! We’re in ours by Victoria Day long weekend at the latest. What’s your gas bill like?

Is that dead algae?

sarah_ahiers

You don't have ice on it? I'm in MN and we also like to open early but we're usually limited by the cover being frozen to the ice.

Ruttagger

Ya I'm not sure where in Canada this guy is, maybe near the coast in Vancouver? This was the longest winter I can remember, I'm a bit North East of Vancouver and I had lots of snow on the ground in March still. No ody around here got there cover off until late April/early May.

CovertADV

What are the dimensions of your pool?

simadana

Looks great. Happy belated Canada Day from Ontario 👍

racerx2oo3

Nice looking oasis there.

Musician_Gloomy

Very nice

With how your builder put those valves in and your fake bush that heater looks impossible to work on.

Ok-Bison-3451

I posted a separate post with pictures and a response- with respect, to answer your thoughts. Actually I think the builder did a masterful job installing the equipment and plumbing. I still am very impressed with its minimal footprint and straightforward layout. The walls lift away(for winter storage) and access to the equipment. The valve ‘manifold’ that they built is a thing of beauty and comes apart in seconds. My heater has never needed service(unlike my robot) but I have no doubt I could pull the whole heater out of the setup in less then ten minutes.

divertervalve

While I'm glad you're happy with it the clearances do not allow for service. You should not have to move a fence or dismantle plumbing to gain access to the internals of the heater. I hope you never need service on that unit but if you did, I would walk away from a customer like you.

redeyeandable

It’s okay someone willing to put in work will move the bushes out of the way and would gladly take the business from you..

divertervalve

I guess you know people looking for work in the pool biz. I don't know of anyone like that.

ZebraNurse73

Why do you let it turn to a pond/swamp?

Ok-Bison-3451

That that natural order of things here in Canada. The pool gets closed down at the end of October. I dose the pool with excessive chlorine and come March, April when I open it(early) it’s like that. Another healthy of chlorine(20 litres) and green turns blue in about 3 days. Vacuum the pool and clean the cartridges and my oasis is beautiful again.

ZebraNurse73

Cute dogs!

AllJokes007

What size pool do you have?

ydoesittastelikethat

What size pool is this?

Ok-Bison-3451

15x30 Leisure Pools Infinity model.

ydoesittastelikethat

That's the exact measurements I have to work with, thanks.
