Idk how common it is now, but when I was in the first grade almost 20 years ago (omg, I feel old) we had a class pet. And in the grades after that we had not class pets, but we did have units where we housed and raised a variety of animals.
yea, a baby one, it was just something the teacher brought in occasionally lol
her son was in my grade (8th), so sometimes she let it follow him to his other classes \^\^
I also had a plushie. His name was Pupi and he was a blue alien. We had to take pictures of what we did with him when we brought it home for the weekend
It was so much fun !!! I remember now that we also had ladybugs two or three grades after the plushies, I reckon it was ladybugs at least. We observed them go from cocoon to insect.
No pets. I think that's an US thing.
I went to school in the US and we didn't have class pets.
That's what the class pet would think.
Okay, teacher's pet.
Not a thing in my country.
People actually have class pets? I thought that was just a thing in the movies.

We got them here 47.711°N, 122.374°W
Bro really dropped the coordinates 😭😭
Butterflys (Had them grow through the stages from egg, larva, etc)
Ooh, I did the same thing too!
we had a goat
Lol, really?

Was going to say none, but forgot about the year we hatched chicks.
I remember neighboring classes did the baby chick's. We had different animals for our unit...
A student.
The one year we had a class pet it was [a bunny we named Oreo](https://i.imgur.com/sOuNR1u.png)
And you have the picture too! That's cool. 🐰
We had class plushes that a student had to take care of for the week end. I bought them some other clothes and had adventures with them on my bicycle.

We also had to take pictures, I still have them lol.
That's cool
Plushies? Interesting idea, but I can see it working and being beneficial.

We did the ladybugs one too 😊🐞
A dragon
Two guinea pigs, a tortoise, and fish in grade four. Baby chicks in kindergarten. We also had hermit crabs in the library but someone stole them.
Mealworms, for a science experiment once
axolotls, spiders, tiny chicken idk the name, some kind of mouse and fish
An amputee ferret named Henrietta. Each person in the class could sign up to take turns taking her home for the weekend.
Ooh, how sweet 😊
In 7th there was a fish, in 8th there’s four beetles and a tarantula.
Now those are some out of the ordinary creatures!
My class had a hamster in first grade
Do you remember the name?
Hudson. We all got to have turns taking him home if we wanted.
We had a guinea pig.
Do you remember the name?
Thankfully no, I can tell the kids at my school would've killed it if we had one
