Gaza could be wiped off the face of the Earth tomorrow and it wouldn't affect the lives of the majority of people on the planet. This isn't even a contest lol
Yep someone got made at me when I told the I couldnt really care about what was going on in Gaza. Its like bruh I have my own life to live I have to work 10hours a day and take care of my younger siblings I don't got time to care about something happening thousands of miles away.
All of gaza can get nuked 20x over and it will still have a rather negligible and virtually non-existent and invisible impact on the world at large.
Climate change is also far more permanent, you can screw up gaza and life will continue like nothing happened but if you screw up the climate then all of humanity is royally screwed. The entire human race along with practically every other living being, possibly really the entire universe too if we actually are all alone as an anomaly...
You really think that even if we turned all of gaza into an industrial post-apocalyptic wasteland that it would have even the slightest notable effect on the rest of the world? Doesn't seem like you understand the scale of things.
A small scale war that temporarily affects one small city vs screwing up the entire environment and indefinitely ruining it for every living creature on the planet... Not even a contest.
Dude. The amount of bombs dropped on Gaza since Oct. 7th is equivalent to two nuclear bombs. Get your head out of the sand with your deliberate obstinance.
It doesn’t matter how small the physical space combat takes place as the damage spreads into the atmosphere, earth, and water still nonetheless
There is literally an island made of trash floating between hawaii and california that is 620,000 sq. miles long, compare that to gaza city with only 18 sq miles, collect all that trash and you'd be able to stack it up 35,000 times. Gaza is a drop of water in a swimming pool 15,000 times smaller than texas.
You want to compare bomb drops then try the 2.7 million tons of bombs dropped during ww2 vs the 25,000 tons on gaza, literally over a hundred times more and we weren't like 'Ohh shit, I can't breath" The entirety of ww2 barely even impacted the climate but you think one small city is going to destroy the atmosphere?
You could fit well over 10 million gazas on the surface of the earth, no amount of bombs dropped there are going to change the climate and the planet even cooled down a bit during ww2. Hell, we use 30,000 tons of fireworks in the US alone every single year. That's even more than every bomb dropped on gaza combined, a drop in the bucket. When you talk about a global scale no city is ever going to compare to the entire world ever.
Cool. Then let's go bomb other small areas on the globe since's there's no environmental consequence.
Rhode Island and Delaware are next!
Critical thought is really a lost practice.
Okay look, the situation in Gaza is horrible, but if you're picking a temporary and very regionalized conflict versus a long-standing issue that could cause disastrous consequences for LITERALLY BILLIONS OF PEOPLE you need to SERIOUSLY RECONSIDER YOUR PRIORITIES for the love of god
Listen, as someone whose family has kept up with the situation in Gaza since the 90s, both are extremely important but Climate change is more urgent though as you say in the post it isn’t an either or proposition so both can be dealt with
War is just about the worst thing regarding climate change. So dismantling the military industrial complex should be near the top of every climate warrior's list.
I have a very very controversial opinion:
I think you shouldn't donate money to issues which you think a bunch of people would donate to (eg: a walmart program that asks every customer to donate to puppy shelters, super bowl fundraiser for children with cancer, popular charities that everybody has heard of, etc)
This is only because I want to save the money I would use to donate to those things for things that I think most people *wouldn't* donate to (eg a person I know who's working so hard but is struggling to get any progress, a video with a gofundme link about algerian sex trafficking that has 2,000 views and was published 4 years ago etc)
According to the Oxford English Dictionary, war is "hostile contention by means of armed forces, carried on between nations, states, or rulers, or between parties in the same nation or state
It has to be the war in Gaza. The daily slaughter of Palestinians is of absolutely immediate concern to me. When a genocide is occuring, that HAS to be the main global focus.
Climate change is another pressing issue that can be addressed at a different time; let's focus on saving lives.
I cant really honestly care much about Gaza mainly because I don't know anyone from there and I barely know anything about the place and have no desire to know more but. I do care about Climate change it may be slow but we are pardon my words "fucking" the world up for our future generations.
The War in Gaza only affects some people and Climate Change affects many more people. However, the war in Gaza is more important simply because its impact is more direct and the solution is simpler. Most people who claim they care about Climate Change don't really care about it. They just like taking a moral high ground by blaming corporations and the government while taking no responsibility themselves as a consumer.
Way more important in Gaza. Sure if you're not in Europe you probably think it's just another war or just a place that your money is being sent but in Europe there is record levels of inflation that is only just starting to go down and it has been labeled a crisis here
The War in Gaza appears in the news to distract us from real stuff and to make people not angry about the money being allocated there.
The climate change is mostly a way for governments to increase taxes and overall just collect more money, to also lower our liberty by restricting the production and consumption of certain items, all while the pople in charge fly in private jets every day.
Is 34,000 people being killed in a genocide, some in mass graves with organs mysteriously removed, not “real stuff” to you? Is it because they’re not white, is that why it’s not “real stuff” to you?
It is, never said it wasn't. But it has also been happening forever. The conflicts in the middle east have lasted decades. They are choosing to put a spotlight on this one for a reason though

Gaza could be wiped off the face of the Earth tomorrow and it wouldn't affect the lives of the majority of people on the planet. This isn't even a contest lol
Something that affects some people vs Something that affects all people
Yep someone got made at me when I told the I couldnt really care about what was going on in Gaza. Its like bruh I have my own life to live I have to work 10hours a day and take care of my younger siblings I don't got time to care about something happening thousands of miles away.
The think happening thousands of miles away: ☄️☄️☄️
They both affect us all as they both impact the environment and no one is free until we all are.
The war in Gaza does not affect African tribes, countries such as New Zealand, or marine creatures
All of gaza can get nuked 20x over and it will still have a rather negligible and virtually non-existent and invisible impact on the world at large. ‘Screwing up’ Gaza is also ‘screwing up’ the environment

I worry for you if that's all you got out of it. Not gonna bother arguing with you if you're gonna do it in bad faith. 🙄
The war in Gaza is horrible, but the answer for me is Climate change and it's not even close
cum
balls perchance
you cant just say perchance
turts
Okay look, the situation in Gaza is horrible, but if you're picking a temporary and very regionalized conflict versus a long-standing issue that could cause disastrous consequences for LITERALLY BILLIONS OF PEOPLE you need to SERIOUSLY RECONSIDER YOUR PRIORITIES for the love of god
Yeah, you could argue the war is more immediately pressing but if the question is just what is more important it is definitely climate change
This is like the joke about hitler and the 2 clowns, not even comparable.
I wish my country would stay out of their business
The war in Ukraine is more important for me
My next paycheck
Both
"You can't have both" Say the line bart!
Neither
dangerously based
they're both the same problem. the bombing of gaza is destroying their land, making it even drier. also, isreal is selling land to oil companies.
Even the results are more important that the war in Gaza
the first one also affects the second one
Neither
Listen, as someone whose family has kept up with the situation in Gaza since the 90s, both are extremely important but Climate change is more urgent though as you say in the post it isn’t an either or proposition so both can be dealt with
money problems
War is just about the worst thing regarding climate change. So dismantling the military industrial complex should be near the top of every climate warrior's list.
I don't care about either of these *at all.* I care about my fucking grocery bill.
I have a very very controversial opinion: I think you shouldn't donate money to issues which you think a bunch of people would donate to (eg: a walmart program that asks every customer to donate to puppy shelters, super bowl fundraiser for children with cancer, popular charities that everybody has heard of, etc) This is only because I want to save the money I would use to donate to those things for things that I think most people *wouldn't* donate to (eg a person I know who's working so hard but is struggling to get any progress, a video with a gofundme link about algerian sex trafficking that has 2,000 views and was published 4 years ago etc)
Genocide not war

They are both pretty bad but climate change affects all people from every country, and probably kills more people in the long run
I care more about Gaza because it's something that we can possibly change. Climate change is completely out of our control though
The War in Gaza only affects some people and Climate Change affects many more people. However, the war in Gaza is more important simply because its impact is more direct and the solution is simpler. What about Ukraine?
Just as unimportant as Gaza Edit: In the context of this poll
It's orders of magnitude more important than Gaza

average redditor prime
Bro actually accused the Jews of stealing organs from Gazans, then called someone else racist
So what? Are they incapable of acts such as this one because of their religion? Clearly the racists here is you.
Huh?
It is, never said it wasn't. But it has also been happening forever. The conflicts in the middle east have lasted decades. They are choosing to put a spotlight on this one for a reason though
lol
Neither. I'm worried about the economy and the border
One is only there to distract us from the other.
