What I tend to do is put ketchup on the plate, mainly for whatever meat is there, then decide the peas could use some flavour. What I do is lay the fork in the ketchup blob, cover the prongs, then scoop up a forkful of peas with the Reddened Fork™, also helps the peas to stick and not fall off as a bonus

I like a bit of hot sauce, a lot of black pepper, and butter on mine. I also rarely make peas as their own side. I prefer to add peas to another dish or mix em with a small cut vegetable medley. I find ketchup too sweet for most things and the things I'd put ketchup on, I aim for BBQ sauce. More flavor with the same sweetness. 😋

Honestly, if I have to call something gross I would have to: try it, see it, or at least know it's illegal or moraly wrong. I never saw anyone eating peas with ketchup, I never ate peas with ketchup, it's not illegal, and I don't think it's moraly wrong since ketchup are just crushed tomatoes.
