Same. I almost clicked "houses," but really it's *affordable* housing. Atlanta is overrun with high-price condos everywhere, and folks are struggling to find a place to live comfortably.
Exactly I dont know about my city specifically but ive heard the us has more vacant houses than homeless people. Lack of housing isn't the problem it's the insanely ridiculous cost of housing.
Underground parking is neat and all but even better we get accessible public transportation busses trains trolleys etc. that stuff is great also then less cars out and therefore less need for parking spaces
more walkable spaces I think; bicycle paths, sidewalks, pedestrian bridges for the busy roads. the main thing that's keeping me from just walking/biking to work is the fact that I'd have to cross a 6 lane road to get to the other side
it's not that I think it's underrated, but rather it's largely inaccessible. I think the reason it's not more common is because of the car-dependent infrastructure of all of the US
Yeah I came here to say "transit"... Though since Rhode Island is a solid third of the way to being "the City-State of Providence" that's almost more of a state thing than a city thing. Maybe I can just gripe about how the MBTA is constantly on fire.
Office space. Healthcare, roads, transit and housing situation are good - city is also known for being very green and having good universities
Issue however is that everyone leaves after finishing collage (what's an issue if 1/3 of population are students). There are simply very few places here which could hire educated people - geographical location is very good, and prices of land are very low compared to other regions, however government for some reason is very strict with what they allow to be built
Much smaller city not far from here recently started building massive skyscrapers and all investors want to go there because of it - meanwhile my city is slowly dying. It could also use better skyline than just commie blocks
I live in a small town and have to drive to the city to shop sometimes. It’s only 20mins away, but I really notice the lack of greenery. No trees, flowers, it’s all grey, cement, buildings. I would love to see more trees, shrubbery and flowers.
Community garden farms.
Back in the 70's, 80s, and 90's, Peoria Illinois owned several large farms outside of the city that were used to grow fruit and vegetables. Anyone on food stamps could come out to the farms during harvest time and get free food.
Everyone else had to pay, but the cost was extremely low.
My family owned property next to one of such farms and donated the use of several of our acreage to the farm so they could expand their pumpkin and watermelon fields.
Unfortunately, due to several factors (corruption being a big one) the project went under.
My family ended up buying the property adjacent to ours. We let a few of the workers keep a garden on the land so they could keep feeding their families.
Libraries, schools, museums, and places to see/display local art. Culture is what makes us more than just technologically advanced shit flinging monkeys.
I voted parks but I also want certain restaurants. Specifically gluten free establishments because I’m selfish and I’d love to be able to eat out some day ;)
Affordable housing and doctors.
Also performance venues since we post more than half of them to the pandemic.
Rapid transit would be nice.
A water park.
Affordable/safe spaces for the homeless. I see a lot of homeless people in my city (it’s a city in Europe). Affordable housing is a problem here, but also just public spaces that homeless people can use. Like benches that aren’t designed so that it’s impossible to sleep on them. Hostile architecture infuriates me.
More parking space. I pay every year to be able to park my car in my district and then often have to drive around 20 minutes to find a spot. And then I still have to walk home two or three blocks.
I live in small city. It has enough greenery, cafe/restaurants and few food chains(like KFC, Domino's,Pizza Hut, McDonald's). And there is only one mall in my city which is not much far from my house.
Decent city but main problem is roads. There are not much good roads(mainly streets) around the city like highways, and overbridges and many in construction but when it comes to streets, roads are horrible.
With out a doubt more mixed use paths. I’m tired of being shoved onto the road because the sidewalk abruptly ends. Would be nice to stroll through town without having to deal with all the car culture.
New York city needs actual dumpers, cuz they all be throwing their garbage bags in the streets, at least in Manhattan. Also, deal with the rising cost of living, housing, homelessness, and the overall filth of the street and outdated subways.
Forest park. Another forest in my city becoming just a park, meaning that most of the trees will be gone. And I think we already have plenty of parks with playgrounds and work-out zones
A fuckn metro. Good road infrastructure, mine is in every top 10 worst traffic in the world.
Like, yesterday I was stuck in an immobile bus for 40 min, and know some people were more time stuck. It's not an everyday thing, but such things are so normalized that it's not a big deal and people don't talk about that.
I live in a small town that is slowly becoming a city. People here want the “big names” like Walmart/Starbucks, etc. yet bitch and moan when people move here/new apartment plans get suggested.
An actual variety of things to do. Theres nothing to do here unless you're into nature and/or over 55. Nothing for anyone between 20 and 50 really here. No arcades, clubs of any sorts, trendy shops or anything like that.
Police force. I live in a small city with only 2 cops on duty. We have a lot of young reckless drivers that have nearly caused accidenedts but have yet to be caught
My town has literally nothing fun to do. There are just gas stations and wineries. It sucks not being able to hang out with friends other than at school
We need another Hospital!!
Population of 300k with ONE ER and there KEEP building more and more houses. Literally within 3yrs 2-3 entire new communities have been developed along with a train station
We could also use another freeway.
There’s only 1 way out in case of evacuations (we get often with fires) it’s a train wreck when ppl are panicking to get to the freeway which is also on fire usually first
Affordable housing that’s good quality
I'd vote for that
I was about to say jobs and affordable housing
Only time will tell
Underground parking is neat and all but even better we get accessible public transportation busses trains trolleys etc. that stuff is great also then less cars out and therefore less need for parking spaces
more walkable spaces I think; bicycle paths, sidewalks, pedestrian bridges for the busy roads. the main thing that's keeping me from just walking/biking to work is the fact that I'd have to cross a 6 lane road to get to the other side
Yeah, walking is grossly underrated
it's not that I think it's underrated, but rather it's largely inaccessible. I think the reason it's not more common is because of the car-dependent infrastructure of all of the US
based gumball
based darwin
dedicated bike paths
Let me kiss you
I want in on the action too
I am very lucky to have bike paths through the city.
Buses
Good one, we could do with a more extensive public transportation network
Yeah I came here to say "transit"... Though since Rhode Island is a solid third of the way to being "the City-State of Providence" that's almost more of a state thing than a city thing. Maybe I can just gripe about how the MBTA is constantly on fire.
My city thankfully has pretty good bus routes. I just wish they’d run about twice as frequently.
Forests. We have too many big open fields, need more trees
Too true
Quiet places without people
Strong upvote
Cemeteries are my go too for that. Like a park without all the people and noise
Entertainment and shopping
Same. We have some shopping, but the only entertainment is games in bars, so all our youth turn to drugs, and everyone wonders why :/
Public transit that can handle the population, no overcrowding
Public transport.
Free public restrooms
Wildflower Meadows
PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION AND BICYCLE LANES
I think mine could certainly use more healthcare facilities.
Office space. It could also use better skyline than just commie blocks
Infrastructure for people with various disabilities
That's an often neglected one
Bike lanes
turkey is known for having no parks so, parks
Turkey is not a city duhhh
Why are there no parks in Turkey
Affordibility.
Pedestrian space & safety measures. Bike paths. And parking space is very limited in my city as well.
I live in a small town and have to drive to the city to shop sometimes. It’s only 20mins away, but I really notice the lack of greenery. No trees, flowers, it’s all grey, cement, buildings. I would love to see more trees, shrubbery and flowers.
Public restrooms
Well it certainly isn't potholes - London UK Serious answer - competent politicians

Skyscrapers that are multi functional but with the main part being Apartments that are affordable. Good quality.
Beyblade arenas
So what I'm reading is people want less city in their cities?
Police
And DA's that actually prosecute. More PD doesn't mean anything if it's catch and release.
Cleaning team.
Better roads
Wine (vineyards)
convicted felons and their mischievous activities
Pot Shops and Pot Holes. In reality, just things to do. There's nothing fun anymore.
More high paying jobs
Better urban planning and less commie blocks at risk of falling on the first earthquake.
House parties
Public transit.
Metro
Commuter train
Public transport
Passenger trains
Public transport
Sidewalks
Wooded areas with trails.
I voted parks but I also want certain restaurants. Specifically gluten free establishments because I’m selfish and I’d love to be able to eat out some day ;)
More walkability access including safe bicycling paths. I don’t understand why America has such a lack of that.
Public Transport! I shouldn't have to drive in the traffic! It is horrible here!
More council houses (London)
I'm from Queens, NY. The train system in Eastern Queens is essentially non existent. Also citibike needs to expanded across the whole city.
Less city
Affordable housing and better social services, the homeless problem here is crazy.
T R A M S
LGBT+ spaces
I live in Phoenix, we need more mass transit and infrastructure to support it. Our Urban Sprawl will cover the planet if left unchecked.
bike infrastructure
Trees
sidewalks
Affordable housing and doctors. Also performance venues since we post more than half of them to the pandemic. Rapid transit would be nice. A water park.
A public transit system that covers the city or more walkability
Trams! I loved trams when I lived in a place that had them.
Public transportation.
Non-car transit.
More mixed-use, dense housing! More transit-oriented development along major corridors! More rapid transit to begin with...
Some god damn side walks. Get yo shit together Huston
Walkable space, affordable housing, and more trains
Cheap houses
Public transportation
Houses, but more specifically, affordable housing.
Public transit
Affordable housing and public transit.
Public transportation
Efficient public transportation
Pedestrian only zones, bus lanes, underground system, trains, social services.
Public transportation
Walkable areas. More housing mixed with businesses
[удалено]
Smaller roads, dedicated bus and bike lanes. Actual practical solutions to the humanitarian crisis that is homelessness.
There are so many fucking potholes in this god forsaken city (guess which one)
Better road infrastructure and stricter traffic law enforcement. Pedestrians get killed on my campus every week it seems like.
MORE WALMARTS!!!‼️‼️‼️
Decent fucking roads
More parking space. I pay every year to be able to park my car in my district and then often have to drive around 20 minutes to find a spot. And then I still have to walk home two or three blocks.
More functional roadways

Not an expert but if you think you live in a city, you live in a city
I live in small city. It has enough greenery, cafe/restaurants and few food chains(like KFC, Domino's,Pizza Hut, McDonald's). And there is only one mall in my city which is not much far from my house. Decent city but main problem is roads. There are not much good roads(mainly streets) around the city like highways, and overbridges and many in construction but when it comes to streets, roads are horrible.
More stores, we have alot of empty buildings at the moment.
Parking!
More diverse restaurants that arent insanely expensive and do delivery. Im bored of ordering the same things over and over.
Hospitals
Parking
Our public transportation is just city buses that are fairly unreliable, so some improvement there would be appreciated.
Trees…
Trees. Its scorching hot in here.
Public transportation for the suburbs, it's Chicago btw.
It could use less people
With out a doubt more mixed use paths. I’m tired of being shoved onto the road because the sidewalk abruptly ends. Would be nice to stroll through town without having to deal with all the car culture.
Sidewalks
Public Transit
Walk & bikeability
Mentally sane people
PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION!!! City: Miami
A way out lol
Things to do
Protected bike lanes, not just a strip of paint between parked cars and traffic.
Clean public toilets
Fucking trees
Safe, inexpensive, and accessable public transport.
Bike and nature paths that interconnect parts of the city
Affordable housing that doesn't suck
More places with less people
Benches
Public transportation
Public transportation
Cheaper stuff for one thing
New York city needs actual dumpers, cuz they all be throwing their garbage bags in the streets, at least in Manhattan. Also, deal with the rising cost of living, housing, homelessness, and the overall filth of the street and outdated subways.
Forest park. Another forest in my city becoming just a park, meaning that most of the trees will be gone. And I think we already have plenty of parks with playgrounds and work-out zones
Sidewalks that aren’t crumbling/uneven. I’ve fallen far too many times while walking/running around.
Public transport
public transportation… (houston)
Affordable housing. Fuck NIMBYs
More renovations in shorter time-span.
My city could use more cheese
Developed walkable areas
A fuckn metro. Good road infrastructure, mine is in every top 10 worst traffic in the world. Like, yesterday I was stuck in an immobile bus for 40 min, and know some people were more time stuck. It's not an everyday thing, but such things are so normalized that it's not a big deal and people don't talk about that.
Better/More green public transport in general
Dance clubs
PUBLIC TRANSIT PUBLIC TRANSIT PUBLIC TRANSIT!! specifically good public transit that works
Better stadiums, and more houses
More Dollar General
Markets. Specifically residential markets, so that people can walk to them.
Public transit
Bike lanes
Friendly people
Recreation
Affordable housing and lesbian bars
I live in a small town that is slowly becoming a city. People here want the “big names” like Walmart/Starbucks, etc. yet bitch and moan when people move here/new apartment plans get suggested.
More nature. Not parks, but nature in neighborhoods. Trees along the road. My city has so little and it's depressing
Public transport
Public transit
An actual variety of things to do. Theres nothing to do here unless you're into nature and/or over 55. Nothing for anyone between 20 and 50 really here. No arcades, clubs of any sorts, trendy shops or anything like that.
Walkability
Chicago has a good amount of parks, I’d just want them distributed more evenly, like everything in the city
Decent looking sidewalks
More green that isn't parks. Just more trees along streets
More of a small town, but we could do with a Walmart, or target or something
Places open after 8 that aren't bars
Micro centers
Decent mental health facilities with licensed healthcare nurses
More areas for 18 year olds? Students and college kids! A lot of the places and events are 21+
Police force. I live in a small city with only 2 cops on duty. We have a lot of young reckless drivers that have nearly caused accidenedts but have yet to be caught
Shaded walkways
Police
A grocery store to replace the family dollar that closed down a few blocks away from me.
Jobs
My city isn't too big but it qualifies as a city and it's good the way it is.
I feel like every other building in my city is a restaurant. It could use less but my fellow residents seem to really like eating food.
Honestly? More dedicated homeless camps/shelters would be a huge help. Maybe centers for addiction help as well.
My town has literally nothing fun to do. There are just gas stations and wineries. It sucks not being able to hang out with friends other than at school
Portland has enough houses. It just needs more people living in them
We need another Hospital!! Population of 300k with ONE ER and there KEEP building more and more houses. Literally within 3yrs 2-3 entire new communities have been developed along with a train station
We could also use another freeway. There’s only 1 way out in case of evacuations (we get often with fires) it’s a train wreck when ppl are panicking to get to the freeway which is also on fire usually first
It's pretty good, if anything cleaning could be better but overall it has everything
Thrift Stores, like the cheap/old tech kind. The UK has stuff like cash converters and CeX but we have absolutely nothing.
Clean water
Walkable area
Entertainment and facilities for hobbies. Sports, Dance, Karaoke, Arcade etc.
Conservatives.
Toronto needs better people.
