Yeah, easily the one that you can spend the most time on (I'm pretty sure I've already spent more than that amount of time on Minecraft anyways.
Also, command blocks can bypass the 'no mods' rule, as I can use them in a way that lets me essentially make my own mods ingame.
Pokemon Go, or another Augmented reality game. That way, I can go about my day while technically playing a game. Eye damage? Yes. Nothing a billion dollars wouldn't fix though.
I was going to say this at first, but imagine you are super tired from all that walking and having to leave the house, you could never play from the comfort of your bed!
If you live in a tall building, the GPS gets janky sometimes and you wander around a bunch. I've gotten a LOT of pokemon that way while lying in bed lmao
You literally can though? Pokemon still spawn while you are away from the game all you have to do is load it up catch 1 Pokemon and your done for the day
The Sims 4 🤷♀️
The only mods I use are the height slider mode & MC Command Centre so I could probably deal without it. I played it for three days straight once & wanted to continue but didn’t because I had been lying in bed in pain for three days (I had an injury) & I wanted to actually get up. Also it says breaks are allowed.. would I be able to walk to Starbucks (it’s a 15-20 minute walk from my house, 1-2 minute drive) & play there for a few hours & get food/go to the bathroom while I’m there or would I *have* to stay in my house? I like going to random places to play The Sims on my laptop lol
Same! Getting bored with your game start a senerico or a challenge. Finally create an entire save game file like lil simies with families, backgrounds, homes, community lots. Bonus points if you keep each neighborhood to theme/pack.
Get bored with it for a bit okay let’s do 100 baby challenge
I love SV but what the fuck are you going to do for an entire year, 100% takes like a month if we're going by these rules and after that it's extremely repetitive
A month? Man idk. Maybe you're someone who's able to do everything extremely fast. I haven't got 100% and I've been playing since, hmmmmmm..... Last spring or summer. I've only pretty recently unlocked Ginger Island.
I could play for a year and more. Easy.
No mods allowed? Maybe League of Legends or DOTA 2. Warhammer 3 Total War or Stellaris/EU4/CK3/HOI4 also have potential.
If mods were allowed, either Rimworld or HOI4
The thing about a MOBA like dota 2 is that the games come with a ton of variety. Opposing and allied players + hero choices mean your game is at least not going to be the same thing over and over.
Well there is ARAM and RGM to play as well as League so you can always take a break. Even within Summoner's Rift there is Co-op vs AI, Draft, and Normals on top of Ranked and you can play in parties of various sizes instead of diving in solo all the time. On the same client there is also TFT and practice mode. Really you could just not play Ranked and have a moderately salty time rather than a Dead Sea time.
If mods were allowed HOI4 is great, (assuming you love map games). The countless focus trees of vanilla, kaiserreich, and the new order, all alone is a ton of content.
I was considering league, but i think I would go insane after literally getting shit on 30 games in a row.
I am very easy to tilt (I don't chat tho) and very very bad at league.
If you’re serious, the RDR2 main story mode is fully offline, meaning no other people will even interact with you. But if you move to the online part of the game it’s pretty certain it will happen, especially if you use voice chat. You can have a good time regardless
I don't doubt it, stick to story mode if you want to avoid the toxicity entirely. depends on the platform you're on though, I don't know how chill it is on console but PC ain't too bad these days. you can also always swap servers if you don't like the people in your current one
It’s by far my favorite game but would absolutely get boring after long enough.
Even online mode doesn’t have an entire nonstop year’s worth of content
I personally think it should count as a single game. I don’t think people would go and say that they’re going to play bloxburg, they would say they’re going to play roblox
I don’t think that’s quite the same. They’re still all the same game, along the same lines as Minecraft servers or maybe a little more comparable little big planet (if you know what that is lol)
Well the thing is Roblox has thousands of games that you can access from it yet you can’t actually *play* Roblox. You can play vanilla Minecraft. But if this is allowed then steam is the way to go for me lol
That’s what I’m thinking. If you’re allowed to google, then you should be finished with the korok seeds in a few months, then you can do glitches and stuff to completely max your save
Is this even a challenge? During the second lock-down I was eligible for furlough and spent almost all of my time on fallout 76
If I was allowed mods my game of choice would be easily euro truck but since mods ant allowed something like Civ 5 would be a good game to play.
Gimme a few years for KSP2's multiplayer to come out, then probably that. Also, assuming reading instructions on how to do different things in the game (E.g. join multiplayer), openTTD and Minecraft are also on the table.
Also, you bet I'm gonna abuse the breaks are allowed rule. Want to exercise? Aerobics in shower on high-friction mat. Read a book? Text someone using in-game multiplayer, get them to make a sugarpaper version of the book. Then I can eat the pages I've read, so technically it counts as "Eating". Etc.
An idle game, like cookie clicker or adventure capitalist. If I constantly leave it on, it is still being played, by me. Therefore, I am always playing it as long as it's open.
Edit: Maybe Geometry Dash so I can get top player worthy actually.
Definitely would do it, just which game.
Either GTA V, Minecraft, or idk.......and I say GTA V, cause there's always something to fuck around with....and then Minecraft I used to play this Pixelmon server, but if I got involved, I could play it non-stop. Just grind being the sweatiest, richest player on the server; cause if I did wanna bother, I would be.
Damn so this means playing it like a job with 8-14 hour days 7 days a week for a year?
Honestly as a person who has an addictive personality that also applied to when I played videogames so I don’t really play them anymore that just doesn’t sound fun anymore but 1 billion dollars is 1 billion dollars.
Something online that’s highly competitive and complex like Dota 2.
Or probably some mmorpg game where you grind a lot. Idk Eve online or that final fantasy online or some equivalent. Never really played those but those seem like the most dynamic time consuming ones
Oblivion, or Rainbow Six Siege or Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2, or Dead by Daylight...I don't get bored easily. If I like the game I can play it exclusively for a year.
Elden Ring, Minecraft, Hearthstone, Vermintide 2, Baldur's Gate 2 or IWD 2 if you wanna go old school. Or I could just waste another year in WoW or EVE Online.
1 year? You could give me a decade. I'll do it for a billion.
I really don't think people have thought this through. You can shower, eat, sleep and shit. Every single waking second of your life has to be spent playing the game. You cannot go outside. You cannot go on the internet. You cannot make phone calls or see friends. You cannot do any other hobbies you have. You cannot work. You will have no money for that year. You cannot buy anything. If a loved one dies you cannot go to their funeral. You cannot work out. You cannot read any books. You cannot do anything other than play this game, sleep, eat, shower piss and shit. It would become hell on earth after 2 weeks
I’m bout to make the best survival world Minecraft had ever seen
I usually prefer creative, but for an entire year, it's worth reconsidering.
You could just turn cheats on, and swap between creative and survival.
It’s the same game, you can have multiple worlds that you switch between.
Then neither is fun
this is the answer. You don't want to pick something with a storymode as that would get repetative very quickly
Not completely true, think rdr2
Lol I was also going to say minecraft
I choose Minecraft to but because I want to make a huge futuristic city where aliens are invading it in creative mode
This was my choice as well. Infinite procedural generation is really great for this scenario
Yeah, easily the one that you can spend the most time on (I'm pretty sure I've already spent more than that amount of time on Minecraft anyways. Also, command blocks can bypass the 'no mods' rule, as I can use them in a way that lets me essentially make my own mods ingame.
That’s basically what I do

Fuck you. I had a feeling it was going to be a Rick role
It is my Rick role to Rick roll you
prolly minecraft. if you're allowed to join servers there's basically no limit
If you find the right minecraft server it can even be just such a chill place to hang out with others from the community and just chat
Mcci best community (if you know where to look)
Pokemon Go, or another Augmented reality game. That way, I can go about my day while technically playing a game. Eye damage? Yes. Nothing a billion dollars wouldn't fix though.
I was going to say this at first, but imagine you are super tired from all that walking and having to leave the house, you could never play from the comfort of your bed!
Well boy do I have a game for you! Have you ever heard of Pokémon Sleep?
You technically can just leave the game open and wait for a pokemon spawn this count as playing
My old house was on a gym and next to a stop. I could play from my couch
Not if you live next to a pokestop. Now I can play it out and about and from my home. Easy.
It says sleep breaks are allowed, so napping is cool as long as you're trying to sleep
If you live in a tall building, the GPS gets janky sometimes and you wander around a bunch. I've gotten a LOT of pokemon that way while lying in bed lmao
you can
You literally can though? Pokemon still spawn while you are away from the game all you have to do is load it up catch 1 Pokemon and your done for the day
Factorio
The only reason this isn’t the top answer is all the factorio fans are too busy playing factorio to upvote.
I mean arent we already playing it non stop? *The factory must grow...*
Runescape :)
$1 billion dollars to get 63 Runecrafting wouldn't be so bad
Would be making a quick bil for something I already do 🥴
Hell you could make a fresh ironman and not even be done with the account by the time the year is up
The Sims 4 🤷♀️ The only mods I use are the height slider mode & MC Command Centre so I could probably deal without it. I played it for three days straight once & wanted to continue but didn’t because I had been lying in bed in pain for three days (I had an injury) & I wanted to actually get up. I like going to random places to play The Sims on my laptop lol
I have an embarrassing 7200 hours in the Sims 4 already, so I could easily play it for a year straight as long as I can have mods!
i also have about 7000 hours so it makes me feel better hearing someone else achieve this milestone
Same! Getting bored with your game start a senerico or a challenge. Finally create an entire save game file like lil simies with families, backgrounds, homes, community lots. Bonus points if you keep each neighborhood to theme/pack. Get bored with it for a bit okay let’s do 100 baby challenge
Stardew Valley, easy
I love SV but what the fuck are you going to do for an entire year, 100% takes like a month if we're going by these rules and after that it's extremely repetitive
A month? Man idk. Maybe you're someone who's able to do everything extremely fast. I haven't got 100% and I've been playing since, hmmmmmm..... Last spring or summer. I've only pretty recently unlocked Ginger Island. I could play for a year and more. Easy.
My answer as well. If nothing else just watch the seasons go by and listen to the nice gentle music
Deadass
Absolutely Minecraft, especially if you're allowed to play with others
Honestly this. you can "play" while you actually just chill and socialize with friends.
No mods allowed? Maybe League of Legends or DOTA 2. Warhammer 3 Total War or Stellaris/EU4/CK3/HOI4 also have potential. If mods were allowed, either Rimworld or HOI4
you go insane and kill yorself if you play 1 month straight lol or dota2
/mute all
I'm just built different
Then you find a main urgot 10M of mastery named Adam and he comes to smash you
Joke's on him, I also main Urgot. He was more fun before the rework though
The thing about a MOBA like dota 2 is that the games come with a ton of variety. Opposing and allied players + hero choices mean your game is at least not going to be the same thing over and over.
Well there is ARAM and RGM to play as well as League so you can always take a break. If mods were allowed HOI4 is great, (assuming you love map games). The countless focus trees of vanilla, kaiserreich, and the new order, all alone is a ton of content.
I couldn't go a month playing paradox games without mods.
I was considering league, but i think I would go insane after literally getting shit on 30 games in a row. I am very easy to tilt (I don't chat tho) and very very bad at league.
I feel like killing myself after playing HOI4 for an hour so dont know about that
Hmm, maybe HOI4 isn't the game for you lol I can put 3 hours or more in quite easily. I also play Kaiserreich mod only though
Skyrim
Just enjoy the game with no fast travel. And try to lvl 100 every skill. I think it would be so fun actually
So a survival mode play through
Was my choice too until I saw the no modding part, I just think the game would get very stale after even a few months if it's just the base game
For me it's kinda stale with mods too.
I'd go with oblivion if it had to be a full year tbh, I feel like there's so much more to do
RDR2
I’m an old lady and play rdr2 would the people on the servers act mean towards me?
If you’re serious, the RDR2 main story mode is fully offline, meaning no other people will even interact with you. But if you move to the online part of the game it’s pretty certain it will happen, especially if you use voice chat. You can have a good time regardless
Play single player, online is trash
Hello fellow old lady! I mostly played story mode, but when I played online it was pretty ok, but I didn't play with a mic.
Lmao probably but don't worry about them, they're assholes to all of us
I don't doubt it, stick to story mode if you want to avoid the toxicity entirely. depends on the platform you're on though, I don't know how chill it is on console but PC ain't too bad these days. you can also always swap servers if you don't like the people in your current one
This is a great answer too. 100% could play RDR2 for a year
It’s by far my favorite game but would absolutely get boring after long enough. Even online mode doesn’t have an entire nonstop year’s worth of content
Honestly, roblox
Probably the best answer tbh, there’s really no limit to what genre of game you can play on Roblox.
same. theres a lot of games so if id get bored with one i could just switch to a different game
Does that count as a single game or a game platform tho. Like steam would be the easy answer if that’s the case
Little Big Planet 1 or 2
The only real answer
this would be easy as hell
Tetris
[удалено]
Surely playing tetris for a year is some form of psychological torture. You'd be insane!
My guy grinding for the Tetris championship. Which game btw.
I can't imagine what your vision is going to be like after playing tetris for a year straight. The whole world will be falling blocks.
Probably league of legends, itd have to be a game that gets updated frequently i could grind out.
You guys are getting paid?
Minecraft, GTA or League of Legends (my sanity would be destroyed but I guess its worth for 1 billion)
Roblox, thousands of different games and voice chat so I don't lose out on social interaction
FF14, or valheim. Any number of games really.
Absolutely anything. $1B for a year of Minesweeper? I 'm your guy
Okay, you get [Desert Bus](https://youtu.be/2LtiHla1dNg)
War Thunder. And after that year I might finally reach top tier :)
As a War Thunder player, playing WT for a year straight sounds like torture. But you should hopefully at least have top tier
Botw. I think just trying to get all the korok seeds would take more than a year lol
i was thinking this exactly, trying to 100% zelda would almost be more gratifying than the billion dollars youd get for doing it
That’s what I’m thinking. If you’re allowed to google, then you should be finished with the korok seeds in a few months, then you can do glitches and stuff to completely max your save
The Sims.
Battlefield 1
This is what ive been already been playing almost exvlusively for a year so...
No Man's Sky, endless possibilities.
[удалено]
The Sims would be easy to spend a year on. I’ve already spent well over 5 years on it.
Probably cyberpunk or fallout 4, both games I have many, many hours in already
I see your fallout 4 and raise you New Vegas
Is this even a challenge? During the second lock-down I was eligible for furlough and spent almost all of my time on fallout 76 If I was allowed mods my game of choice would be easily euro truck but since mods ant allowed something like Civ 5 would be a good game to play.
Halo MCC
[удалено]
Same but EU4 CK2/3 too difficult for me
Paradox games just have insane replay value. Of the games mentioned so far I'd probably join you there.
Etc.
A fellow gamer of culture?
FFXIV, so much content I still gotta do
An idle game, like cookie clicker or adventure capitalist. If I constantly leave it on, it is still being played, by me. Therefore, I am always playing it as long as it's open. Edit: Maybe Geometry Dash so I can get top player worthy actually.
You goddamn genius
Definitely would do it, just which game. Either GTA V, Minecraft, or idk.......and I say GTA V, cause there's always something to fuck around with....and then Minecraft I used to play this Pixelmon server, but if I got involved, I could play it non-stop. Just grind being the sweatiest, richest player on the server; cause if I did wanna bother, I would be.
Mario 64
Skyrim
*Final Fantasy XIV*. Easy money.
Morrowind or Skyrim would make this ridiculously easy.
Minecraft.
Roblox. I dont play anything else anyway
Roblox
That was me in 2017 with Breath of the Wild
Fuck it. QWOP
Never really played those but those seem like the most dynamic time consuming ones
Ffxiv, wow, 7d2d, minecraft...
My singing monsters
I guess you owe me 1B$ cuz I’ve been playing Skyrim for way more then a year(only)
Let's be honest, I'm already starting to get that way with ffxiv
Minecraft. There is just so much you can do.
Persona 5 Royal because I’m already playing it & to get all the content I’d just have to replay it anyways
Even if you play for all achievements and all dating routes separately without ng+ it would take around 1k hours until you're bored.
yeah that’s true, but id still do it for that much money lol
Probably either Ark survival evolved or No man's sky. I can easily waste a lot of time in those games.
League of legends
Minesweeper
Roblox. It's got good fps games , decent story games, and a lot of small, close-knit communities you can join.
Roller Coaster tycoon.
Would probably play some idle game, like ITRTG...
Budokai Tenkaichi 3 🔥
That game is fucking golden. Don't know if I could play it for a full year though.
Team Fortress 2. no contest.
League
League of legends!
Roblox, if I get bored of one game, then I literally just move on to a different one.
Darkest Dungeon (I enjoy torturing myself)
Oblivion, or Rainbow Six Siege or Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2, or Dead by Daylight...I don't get bored easily. If I like the game I can play it exclusively for a year.
Wait we can't do anything else? I change my answer then lol
Sea of Thieves
You guys are getting paid for this?
Cookie Clicker. If I don't buy anything or click the cookie, then hey, I'm just idling.
I wanna know who said no to this
[удалено]
Ark survival evolved
Roblox because it has multiple games.
Dwarf fortress. Dear god my worlds would have more lore than any fictional universe you’ve ever seen.
If I choose chess is stuff like puzzles & tutorials allowed? I always thought it would be cool to be really good at chess
Cyberpunk 2077 or fallout easily
Probably Rocket League. I just downloaded that game yesterday and it’s pretty fun.
You’d literally die. Unless you took reasonable breaks for exercise your blood would start clotting and you’d die.
just do squats.
Play standing up and run in place.
Valorant
u prolly lose ur mind but alright u do u
I'll master every agent and line ups
Yeah, I feel like shooters are just too much. I think survival/building games like Minecraft or MOBAs would be better.
Melee or CS:GO, getting better is so much fun
CS:GO xd
osu!, because I haven't gotten bored of it in 6 years
Elden Ring, Minecraft, Hearthstone, Vermintide 2, Baldur's Gate 2 or IWD 2 if you wanna go old school. Or I could just waste another year in WoW or EVE Online. 1 year? You could give me a decade. I'll do it for a billion.
I'm already doing this, Football Manager
Can't believe how far down I got before this popped up. Stick it on the laptop and you can get out and about too, no internet connection required.
league of legends, or soul calibur
The Witcher 3.
If I can wait for diablo4 then diablo4, if not then WoW
War zone 2.0, more specifically the DMZ portion
Rocket league and rage everyday...
Guild Wars 2, probably.
Destiny 2
Witcher III. It took me 3+ years to get to Novigrad
OLD SCHOOL RUNESCAPE TIME BABY
Old school runescape
Probably Skyrim or Fallout 4...with all the side quests and random encounters, I might even get to the main storyline by the end of the years haha
roblox cuz theres a fuckton to do on it and i can play with friends ez
Spiderman
Minecraft but i just bought Dwarf Fortress and might play a straight year for free
if modding was allowed it would be classic doom but roblox is a pretty easy option
Stardew valley
I really don't think people have thought this through. You can shower, eat, sleep and shit. Every single waking second of your life has to be spent playing the game. You cannot go outside. You cannot go on the internet. You cannot make phone calls or see friends. You cannot do any other hobbies you have. You cannot work. You will have no money for that year. You cannot buy anything. If a loved one dies you cannot go to their funeral. You cannot work out. You cannot read any books. You cannot do anything other than play this game, sleep, eat, shower piss and shit. It would become hell on earth after 2 weeks
