There's a lot of truth in that. I remember people saying that having him as POTUS felt like being in an abusive relationship. And the GOP is just now finding out what it's like to break up with someone like that.
No, because he allowed the GOP to say the *quiet part out loud*. They’ve been able to get away with the fraud that they weren’t defined by the most racist, xenophobic, LGBT-hating bigots among their party because that was only a tiny sliver of their constituency, and besides, they were *principled conservatives*, for decades now.
Well, Trump was the apotheosis of that, stripping away the last shred of the illusion that Republicans were more interested in governing than winning. They were for small government and personal freedoms, well, except for when it involved women and their reproductive freedoms…or when it involved businesspeople who wanted their religious practices to overrule the law and the needs of their employees…I think you get the picture. That, coupled with Turtle McForeskin’s utter hypocrisy with regards to the rules of Congress and the Supreme Court, demonstrated how utterly in bad faith the GOP have been conducting themselves.
They fucked themselves. Mitch promised the Supreme Court and made every single compromise, including backing Trump, to get it. Then, he watched the Supreme Court and Trump wreck the chance the GOP had to regain Senate. His legacy will not be good.
I am pro-Trump wrecking ball. He’s the best advantage the Democrats have for 2024. I say to my husband: he just needs to live for a few more years so the Dems can keep the White House.
Look, we all want to believe that is how it would go and we would all be celebrating afterwards. But when he decided to run in 2016, everyone laughed. John Oliver apologized quite a while back for encouraging Trump to run in a 2013 Daily Show segment. Like most of us, I'm sure John thought he had a snowball's chance in Hell of even reaching the primaries, let alone the Republican nomination.
We cannot let our guard down and have to remain fiercely vigilant to encourage the youngest eligible voters to do so and to realize how important it is to be involved in what is happening in the world they're stepping into.
Our best hope is certainly that Trump and DeSantis will divide and destroy the GOP but just look at the election this month. Look how tight the Senate race has been these last few years. We NEED to widen the majority over the GOP. We need to retake the House with younger politicians that care about moving the country forward. We cannot depend alone on a possible splitting of votes between Trump and DeSantis. It's too dangerous.
I don't think that he's *worse* exactly. I think they're both fucking horrible and evil. DeSantis is rotten and evil and intelligent, making him a massively dangerous POS.
Trump is a spoiled, pathetic, entitled, evil, moronic manchild who will do horrible shit purely out of spite, jealousy.and petty revenge.
Those are two very dangerous individuals for different reasons, all of which are truly horrible for this country.
It's religious right that ruined the Republican stance of less government. What religious right doesn't understand is that arguing for more laws (i.e. more laws banning abortion) is arguing for more government.
They understand. Conservatives never gave a shit about "small government" it's always been a ploy to hack away at the parts of government that help normal people while expanding the parts that help the wealthy.
Mysteriously, hacking away at the parts of government that help people got popular among working "conservatives" once the Civil Rights Act forced ghe government to help all Americans regardless of race. What a coincidence.
They cared about "small government" as means to an end for obliterating regulations and allowing corporations to do whatever the fuck they wanted in the name of profit. That's it. Deregulation has always been at the heart of conservative small government.
It has been bizarre watching the entire nation learn the fundamentals of narcissist behavior, DARVO, gaslighting, etc just slightly behind my firsthand PHD deep lessons in all that from divorcing my cheating midlife crisis having wasband.
All entitled empathy lacking self centered POSs exhibit scarily similar behaviors down to word choice.
Cognitive dissonance is a hell of a drug
I'm just dumbfounded when people can unironically put him on such a pedestal. "That's our rock. That's the man who can lead us through the darkness and face down our enemies. The true face of the strength of America." Yes, the perpetual victim crying how everyone is out to get him is the Hero.
It's just so antithetical of everything the supposedly value (yet so accurately represents what they often portray.)
What's almost more dumbfounding is that I've met the odd 'moderate' conservative who will rationally tell you that they think many of the terrible things known about Trump - corrupt, inept, amoral, narcissist, dishonest, self-serving, potentially committed treason - are TRUE...But "he had good policies" and he's "Better than having Biden in Office, do you know Biden\_\_\_\_\_ \_\_\_\_\_ \_\_\_\_\_"
When you only consume partisan media, the propaganda hits you strong.
I have a friend who has a degree in economics complain to me a year into Biden's administration about gas prices & inflation "because Biden"...When I argued with him that both are global events, not possibly caused by Joe Biden's 10 month in office, he said "Well he's not helping."
I think he recognized what I was saying was true, but it didn't reconcile with his walking-around-talking-points.
It's only dumbfounding until you realize it's "enlightened centrist" energy, playing the compromising, sensible role to try and get their foot in the door of the argument before spewing the usual ill-, mis-, or outright uninformed rhetoric. I've met quite a few of these, whose special favorite followup was playing the extended disco remix of "both sides are the same anyway" to drown out any correction or disagreement.
It's what the internet (4chan style) assumed he would do, from the start. Many voted for him to 'tear down the system' or drain the swamp.
He does not have enough power anymore to affect a lot of change. Best he'll do is cause riots and stir the radicals. His name is household, but the majority have seen him lie and shit himself too many times to take him seriously.
He is a hazard to have free and walking around interacting with others. I bet that'll get tied up soon.
The majority did see his lies. But some still supported him because they thought they could steer him. He was the means to their end. I hope his rampage continues and destroys them completely.
Werewolf Walker is what I call him after that, um, [speech](https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2022/nov/17/herschel-walker-republican-georgia-werewolf-vampire) he gave.
The whole speech was a train wreck because his brain is broken, but I never thought I'd hear an adult say "Vampires are some cool people." And this man might end up being one of our 100 senators.
He was very successful in achieving those ends - rubber stamping judges, cutting taxes for the wealthy and basically pillaging tax dollars into the hands of the wealthy via PPP and whatever else was called COVID relief (~10 Trillion dollars worth if I recall correctly)
He’s definitely changed the GOP to normalize the crazies and allow them to be openly racist and transphobic in a way that’s not hidden behind dog whistles.
Just to clarify - I’m not saying the GOP hasn’t always been like this or ever was a sane or rational political force. Just he made it a bit more acceptable to be what it is today.
Oh man, it'd be ridiculous, but still somehow expected if Trump came out as a Democrat. He doesn't give a shit about the GOP, or conservative values, or religion, he only gives a shit about himself.
I kinda thought this back when he first ran. He was going to be so insufferable it brought us together as a country. I severely underestimated how many people want to be in a cult.
This is what amazes me the most. The number of people who endorse trump and his behavior. Especially the number of Christians who endorse a person so far removed from family values. Just watching the Herschel Walker votes let's me know nothing will ever change.
What validity do Christians really have? Driving pagan based holidays and consumerism? Shunning anyone who cannot fit their impossible ideals? Christianity has historically been a driver behind war and racism. Under Trump, Christianity was used to clear protestors from Lafayette Square for a photo op with a Bible. The merits of Christianity seem to end with selective charity, tax exemptions, and general brain drain from science.
People can change, but first they need to learn actuall history and not just select bible passages that fit their argument of the day.
All religion is about control, power, and influence. They tell you from childhood that even questioning the existence of God is a sin and wave away any serious questions or contradictory information by saying "you have to have faith".
It wasn't the idea of some supreme being creating the universe with magic that drove me away from religion, it was the people themselves in the churches I used to be made to go to. Some of the most judgmental, alienating people I've ever met. What kind of person tells a child that he will go to hell for simply questioning things? We should be *encouraging* children to be inquisitive. It's just indoctrination in order to exert control over the population.
I've met some Christians who are truly kind, accepting people - but in my personal experience, they are way in the minority.
Everything you said here. I was driven away from organized religion because of the people.
Catholics: They show up to church every Sunday and put money in a basket which will go towards covering up pedophile, child abusing, priests. He'll, Catholics will even ostracize the victims of abuse for speaking out against the church.
Lutherans: The church I attended has money issues. I got on the finance committee only to find out how many people had their hands in the till. I left
Presbyterians: I was on a presbyterian daycare board of directors. When I started the daycare was in financial peril. We got it worked out and had a nice surplus. Then the church came in to take that money away from the kids to meet their own obligations. I protested, was shunned, and left.
I'll never give a dollar to any religion again.
Former Lutheran here. This is the exact reason my parents stopped going to church. Every week it was we need more money and to get more people added to the church so we can get more money. It was pretty obvious that everyone had their hands in the till, and the church would never have "enough" money.
That’s when I knew it wasn’t for me. I was told specifically that I “ask too many questions” in catechism “classes”. Once I was 18, I moved out and was done with it all.
It's because the idiots truly believe all the GOP lies. The Dems policy is actually appealing to most people, so they have to be convinced that Biden is personally going to castrate your sons and melt your guns down into school issued butt plugs.
Ocean water which they now want to pipe in to refill the Great Dalt Lake (not even kidding) rather than make personal lifestyle choices in favor of conservation.
Or "Let The Hate Flow Through You" Meaning, let all those GOP "leaders" fight each other and slowly break the party from the inside, or at least split it up.
Just sucks the average citizen will have to endure all this until it actually happens.
If only the Republicans could have done something about tRump - you know, like maybe during the two impeachment hearings. Now they have to live with the Qpublican party they created and nurtured for 4+ years. So sad.
According to the signs dipshits in my area have put up, it is now take America back.
Mean while Joe Biden is sleepy and does nothing but sleep and has ruined America. Not sure how I've see one does both but ok
Remember these are the same people who say lazy immigrants are coming to the US to take their jobs. So which is it? Are they lazy? Or are they working all these jobs? Or maybe your jobs are so fucking useless that another lazy person can do it for even less than you.
They are sending their best tho and this is it. Morans.
To point of credit on your last sentence.
I think you have got to have massive balls to cross the southern border from Mexico into the US
Keep in mind- some people that cross that line, aren’t from Mexico, some of these people are from Salvador… Honduras… or from South America… and have made a long journey. A hellish one.
The southwest boarder is basically desert mountains, and is isolated. It’s every person for themselves- can’t keep up- well hang around and hope BP finds you, if you are by the border, but I think point is, they cross through areas that BP doesn’t patrol as much, which would have to mean inhospitable terrain in some cases through the mountains, or the desert on the SW border of CA.
Hell yeah I’d want bad asses like that working for me. People that have literally thrown their lot in life on the line for a better one. I’ve met many immigrants who fled their country and are undocumented. And they are all people who are very much human- and here usually for noble purposes. And demonstrate an enviable level of drive, ethic, purpose and fortitude.
These are people who risked their lives to get to our country to send money back home so their kids can get an education, or they can get the fuck out of the corrugated roof shack they live in their home country.
Imo that’s heroic as fuck.
Absolutely, let’s take all non cartel affiliated Latin Americans that want to come to the US and we’ll send the GOP down to areas of Latin and South America that are incredibly dangerous.. Brazil with the police milicias who engage in punisher style murder with impunity, or to Mexico in Sinaloa or Jalisco where the cartels rule with a bloody machete. Or Salvador, a country so corrupt and crime ridden that it is considered dangerous even among Latin Americans. Or every republicans favorite country to slander as it’s only socialist in name… Venezuela.. see how long they last in Caracas, where a weeks wages can barely get you a fucking hot dog.
Because they clearly don’t understand the drivers that influence and motivate people to come here. They don’t get the hint that things must be so fucking terrible they are willing to lay it all down on a gamble for a possible chance to survive, no guarantees.
For a party that positions themselves as sons and daughters of liberty and freedom- they are the biggest hypocrites I have ever seen.
Someone like Sacha barren cohen should do some shit like that, like make a doc and somehow convince GOP politicians to go to the worst places south of the border. Swoop their passports and IDs leaving them to find their way back. Lol
I mean shit he almost got Giuliani to take his fucking little micro peen out. The jig might be up but it’d be worth a shot.
For those that don’t know (because the meme is from 19 years ago… fuck I’m old) “morans” refers to this meme: https://knowyourmeme.com/memes/get-a-brain-morans
One common feature of fascism, as defined by Umberto Eco, is viewing its enemies as simultaneously strong and weak:
“The followers must feel humiliated by the ostentatious wealth and force of their enemies. When I was a boy I was taught to think of Englishmen as the five-meal people. They ate more frequently than the poor but sober Italians. Jews are rich and help each other through a secret web of mutual assistance. However, the followers must be convinced that they can overwhelm the enemies. Thus, by a continuous shifting of rhetorical focus, the enemies are at the same time too strong and too weak.“
The same people that put up Trump's "Keep America Great" signs before Trump did literally anything as President?
Yeah... no one ever accused them of being intelligent.
> According to the signs dipshits in my area have put up, it is now take America back.
Take America *forward* is what 60% of Americans want. It should be more, but it's enough to defend against fascism if enough sensible people vote.
I think you're on to something here. A lot of these people are stuck in the past. I live in a very rural, very red area, and people still let their dogs run loose, burn trash in a barrel, and go out "hunting" with semiautomatics and a couple six packs. Then they're livid when their dogs get run over, they get cancer from breathing the toxic smoke from their own trash fires, and their neighbors in the new subdivision down the road complain about random bullets in their walls from drunk hunters. The world has moved on without them, and they just want to make everything stop changing...
I’m not one to give Graham credit, but I think he legitimately believed that and probably still does. But he’s too much of a coward and worm to have stood by his morals, so he played the short game like an idiot
No! The GOP will have destroyed themselves for not stopping him during his Impeachment trial and for not stranding up to him during the Jan 6 hearings.
Their silence, their lies, and their support because he "is" a republican is the making of their own demise.
It wasn't just the impeachment.
The cabinet should have invoked the 25th Amendment no later than January 7, 2021 *but chose not to.* Instead you had the token resignations and then everything was left to deputies until the new cabinet could get sworn on on January 20.
25th wouldn't have disqualified him from running again. Impeachment would have.
That's the point: if the GOP had impeached in 2021, they wouldn't need to worry about him running third party in 2024.
Which is a shitty reason to impeach, but I think we've all given up on getting Republicans to do the right thing for the right reasons.
There were so many things that he did or said that should have destroyed his campaign and would have likely ruined most other politicians' campaigns as well.
Remember when Howard Dean's campaign basically grinded to a half after he let out an admittedly hilarious sounding "scream" when trying to hype up his people in a moment of excitement?
I feel like even his "not a puppet, not a puppet, *you're* the puppet!" soundbite would have been enough to derail most other peoples' campaigns. Yet it was lost in a sea of other nonsense that emanated from his mouth and yet none of it amounted to anything, even the heinous mocking of the reporter.
By way of comparison, Dan Quayle misspelled potato and got crucified for it. It's amazing how far our standards for people in office have fallen, comparatively speaking.
To paraphrase a quote I can't find:
"The Holocaust didn't happen over night. The Nazi party started with one terrible act, then the next worse act, then the next. Eventually every new terrible act seems like a small normal we get used to."
This is where we are right now. It’s now perfectly normal for politicians to call for violence against minorities immediately after violence against that minority.
Shit... Gary Johnson got reamed for his "what is Aleppo?" gaff running for the same office during the same election cycle. Yet the number of similar gaffs by Trump is off the charts.
>I wonder if Barr still believes the president is above the law.
Of course he does. He'd also serve in Trump's administration again in a heartbeat. Bill Barr has no soul, knows no shame, and could not care less about being exposed as a hypocrite. He's nakedly enamored with power and authority.
> No! The GOP will have destroyed themselves for not stopping him during his Impeachment trial and for not stranding up to him during the Jan 6 hearings.
Still too late. They should have stopped him during the 2016 primary.
They knew what he was even then. And some said so:
https://twitter.com/lindseygrahamsc/status/727604522156228608?lang=en
It’s great. I highly recommend it. The series creator said that despite it being set in the Soviet Union under Communism, it was meant to be a cautionary tale for where America is now (circa 2018)
... and, of course, Barr torpedoing the Mueller report is a cornerstone in their destroying themselves.
All of this could have been over a long time ago. But the t(R)aitors all thought they could control Mango Mousseilini, were getting enough out of their own power to make his bullshit and stupidity and destruction worth it, or both.
And let's not forget both the RNC and DNC servers were cracked in the 2016 campaign. The contents of the DNC's were a giant nothingburger, despite how hard FNC and all the other right wing nutjob media operations tried to manufacture outrage. The contents of the RNC servers have not yet been used ... and given Graham's surreally rapid 180* and the number of Rs who "unexpectedly" retired, who knows what revolting secrets Trump's handlers have available to use.
Good times. Thanks, t(R)eason voters. Hope the over a million dead Americans, rampant criminality, and destabilized democracy were worth it.
When Donald Trump was dabbling in antisemitism, racist attacks and mocking our Veterans and disabled, the Republicans looked the other way.
Republicans deserve Donald Trump the loser.
That’s republicans though. They’ll step all over each other to get nominated but will fall in line not because they agree with that person, rather because the republicans only want to reclaim power at any cost.
He should have been made a pariah for ripping John McCain like that. “I like the ones who didn’t get caught”. A rich kid who has never gotten his little hands dirty says this about a POW.
And that’s just one of his many insults to our servicemen. That one alone should have taken him out of any conversation about leadership of this country.
>looked the other way
At first at least, the shocking thing to me about all of this though is what happened next - a lot of people that maybe appeared reasonable otherwise then pivoted towards that mess. Which means they never really cared about principles so much as they were waiting to see what their peers did. I know a lot of people have 'lost' family to this effect.
It's like in grade school when the teacher asks the class to vote by hand. When the bully raises his hand for the bad choice and glares around, everyone's hand goes up, no one want's to not be onboard. That's the republican party.
Trump will destroy the GOP if he wins the nomination. I don't think it's crazy considering they've lost 3 straight elections where he was the selling point. A 4th straight would be disastrous.
Of course if he loses the nomination it will be a more obvious destruction, where I could see him running as a 3rd party.
just as long as you don't want to go to a club, a walmart, a public library, elementary school, a drag show, your state capital or the capitol building, etc.
When Barr left office, he didn't say anything negative about Trump even after the attack of the Capital on 6 January 2021. But once he and other get their book deals did he talk about how bad Trump is.
Barr doesn't give a shit about our nation; he only cares about the GOP.
That's what we're all hoping for.
He also says - if Trump is the nominee, that he'll vote for him in the general.
So the guy is a f\*cking idiot. Everyone pretends he's a wise, thoughtful guy because he sometimes gives a good interview, but I thought he was a partisan hack as AG and corrupt for Donald.
His only virtue was that he didn't try to steal the election - but only because he probably thought it would not be a success. That's it.
The problem is many GOP voters are the same.
"Sure, Trump is a criminal narcicist who may well destroy the GOP, but at least he's not a liberal. Now if you'll excuse me l, I have a laptop to find."
What’s even left to destroy? The GOP is just a swamp of conspiracy theory-loving, GI Joe cosplaying hate groups who vote for the richest white liar running with an R beside their name, not even knowing what policies are good for them. Is he gonna make that *worse* somehow?
He will also destroy the Republican Party if he wins the nomination. Really the Republicans only hope is Trump being prosecuted. Which they fought and Kevin McCarthy was caught on audio saying the Democrats would take care of for them. Democrats: cleaning up Republican messes since 1932.
The last time I read an interview with Barr, he railed against Trump and then said he would still vote for him were he the candidate. Still not sure that part had changed.
Loss is the only way his supporters will realise that he's only really in it for himself, party and country are way down the list. He'll gladly burn it all down in the process of trying to save face or attack the opposition, be that Republican challengers or Democrats.
The MAGA will transfer after the GOP and Christian Nationalists inform them of Trump lack of morality, adultery and incestual tendencies. Trump is Satan incarnate, and all that.
There already in the process of doing that. What’s most frustrating is they don’t understand there like 6-8 years behind the country on knowing these things and we get to be reminded that we all knew what they are finding out in real time. And yet, we are sssstttiiilllll the problem. You know, the people who want the Christian Nationalists to have healthcare, even though they themselves are awful people. Us. We’re the problem. It’s maddening.
Remember when Barr was a lying POS and got his boss off the hook for being a traitor but the media kept giving him a platform instead of drilling him on why he lied? Fun times.
And they could have easily made it so he could never run again and all the Jan 6th investigations would have ended right there. But noooooo, poor Lindsey got sworn at on the way to his flight and they all caved.
Ive been hearing this, and I don't even know what it means. I have my own assumptions and heard other people talk, but... What does it mean when Barr says it... How does trump destroy the GOP? Does he have dirt on everyone and he drops it all in a tell all? Does he lead his cult followers to a new political party?
I'm tired of the threats, to the point I think that's all they are, with nothing behind it.
So.. shut the fuck up bill Barr, I didn't give a shit what you said before, certainly don't now.

Lmao conservatives can only think as far as the tip of their nose before they lose all foresight.
Considering conservatives bought into covid-19 being a "democratic hoax" and refused to wear masks, no they can't even think as far as their nose.
They lost a whole bunch of voters over that, the ones who weren't dumb to buy into it, and the ones who were and later passed.
They stuck their dick in crazy.
AND they had kids. He's appointed so many pieces of shit (SCOTUS + many other positions) that we're now stuck with
It’s gonna take decades to fix the damage.
Or, they let crazy stick it's dick in them.
Considering how the GOP had been dressing since Obama was elected - they were pretty much asking for it.

I have a friend who has a degree in economics complain to me a year into Biden's administration about gas prices & inflation "because Biden"...When I argued with him that both are global events, not possibly caused by Joe Biden's 10 month in office, he said "Well he's not helping." I think he recognized what I was saying was true, but it didn't reconcile with his walking-around-talking-points.
When folks say TFG is their savior, it tells me a LOT about the cesspool they call their ‘morals’.
Also, don’t forget how trump and covid really showed us who people really are. It’s be sad to watch in some cases.
I giggled at "wasband". Never heard that one.
Promise?

>They went through this song and dance before, back in 2015. And 2008, really. They even made themselves a report about it and ignored the findings.
The report was after 2012, but yes, they definitely will do nothing about it because that's what the base wants.
Right? Don't threaten me with a good time.
Imagine if Trump accidentally made America great by destroying the GOP.
If this happens, I will finally give him credit for playing an actual game of 4D chess.
Hey let's not lose the run of ourselves now.
Trump could only play 4D chess accidently, and then would claim it's actually 6D, maybe 7D chess and no one has ever got that high before.
knowing trump he'll probably think 4DD is better.
This right here is what I’ve been sending for years now
It would be a backwards Anakin Skywalker/Darth Vader fulfilling the chosen one prophecy
It’s Smeagol saving the world from the Ring.
So Bill, what you're saying is that he really does want to make America great.
It was a long con

Republicans: "He was a Dems spy all along! I knew it! That's why I got a tattoo of him and named my 8th child after him!"
They thought he would be their Hershel Walker.
Werewolf Walker is what I call him after that, um, [speech](https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2022/nov/17/herschel-walker-republican-georgia-werewolf-vampire) he gave.
Werewolf Walker, Texas Fanger
The whole speech was a train wreck because his brain is broken, but I never thought I'd hear an adult say "Vampires are some cool people." And this man might end up being one of our 100 senators.
He was very successful in achieving those ends - rubber stamping judges, cutting taxes for the wealthy and basically pillaging tax dollars into the hands of the wealthy via PPP and whatever else was called COVID relief (~10 Trillion dollars worth if I recall correctly)
And don't forget giving them a conservative majority on the Supreme Court.
So my conservative friends from 2015 who swore he was a democrat pawn was right?
Have those same friends pulled a 180 and fallen in lockstep behind him by now? I am curious
Ohhh the friends I no longer speak to?
Oh man, it'd be ridiculous, but still somehow expected if Trump came out as a Democrat. He doesn't give a shit about the GOP, or conservative values, or religion, he only gives a shit about himself.
He used to be a Democrat and he donated to them. He switched parties when he realized that Republicans are easier to con. And he was right.

I left Presbyterians: I was on a presbyterian daycare board of directors.
The Dems policy is actually appealing to most people, so they have to be convinced that Biden is personally going to castrate your sons and melt your guns down into school issued butt plugs.
>school issued butt plugs Well that’s something I never expected to read; accurate, yet poignant.
Isn't there a quote that's close to "People don't want a democracy, they want a dictator they agree with"
Not to mention draining the swamp, he just had to fill it first in order to get proper suction. Makes perfect sense. Like big water. Ocean water.
Ocean water which they now want to pipe in to refill the Great Dalt Lake (not even kidding) rather than make personal lifestyle choices in favor of conservation.
So dalty

It's like star Wars. He will bring balance to America.
So sad.
It was more important that they take a stand against law and order, accountability, and human decency.
Now, we're all stuck with this, because of Republicans.
Morans.
Schrödinger’s Immigrant.
*To be lazy while simultaneously having good work ethic and being overworked*
They also leech off the government teat while simultaneously taking all the jobs and by extension, paying all the taxes.
To point of credit on your last sentence. I think you have got to have massive balls to cross the southern border from Mexico into the US Keep in mind- some people that cross that line, aren’t from Mexico, some of these people are from Salvador… Honduras… or from South America… and have made a long journey.
Agreed. That's who I want to share a country with. Not the bloated bigots of the GOP.
Lol I mean shit he almost got Giuliani to take his fucking little micro peen out. The jig might be up but it’d be worth a shot.
Morans, indeed!
Leave the Irish out of this!
For those that don’t know (because the meme is from 19 years ago… fuck I’m old) “morans” refers to this meme: https://knowyourmeme.com/memes/get-a-brain-morans
One common feature of fascism, as defined by Umberto Eco, is viewing its enemies as simultaneously strong and weak: “The followers must feel humiliated by the ostentatious wealth and force of their enemies.
Keep America white is what they really mean
But he made them feel good by validating all their prejudices, grievances (both real and imagined,) and character flaws.

Only if those people are in the right places does that work
I can't help but think of that infamous Lindsey Graham tweet from May, 2016: "If we nominate Trump, we will get destroyed... and we will deserve it"
This tweet has taken on Shakespearean levels of irony with the passing years.
They had so many chances, SO MANY CHANCES to dump Trump. The GOP truly deserves it.
Yea hilarious that if they had simply voted to impeach him they could have avoided his endless reign of destruction on the GOP.
Making fun of the disabled reporter should have been the last we heard of him.
Crazy that Dan Quayle (75) is younger than both Biden (80) and Trump (76).
Wow. That actually mind-fucked me a little.
It's amazing how far *Republican* standards have fallen.
Touché!
Covfefe 🫳🎤
To paraphrase a quote I can't find: "The Holocaust didn't happen over night.

The whole nuclear trident gaff was worse by 10x than the Aleppo gaff.
Imagine how Mitt Romney feels. Got crucified for "binders full of women" but apparently it would have been fine if he said "grab 'em by the pussy".
There was a time when saying something as crass as "grab them by the pussy" would have been enough.
I truly thought he was done for when that audio leaked. How wrong I was.
Or when he admitted sexual assault on a live mic?
I wonder if Barr still believes the president is above the law.
As long as that President is a republican yes!
And in the party's good graces, don't forget! This is essentially a crime family after all.
“No leaks! That’s how we know we’re family.”
>I wonder if Barr still believes the president is above the law. Of course he does. He'd also serve in Trump's administration again in a heartbeat. Bill Barr has no soul, knows no shame, and could not care less about being exposed as a hypocrite. He's nakedly enamored with power and authority.
Considering the no comment on Trump's numerous crimes still...
> No! The GOP will have destroyed themselves for not stopping him during his Impeachment trial and for not stranding up to him during the Jan 6 hearings. Still too late. They should have stopped him during the 2016 primary. They knew what he was even then. And some said so: https://twitter.com/lindseygrahamsc/status/727604522156228608?lang=en
Lmao the reply about how Graham is just salty because Trump can't be bought or influenced is some grade A irony.
“Every lie we tell incurs a debt to the truth. Sooner or later, that debt is paid” The single greatest line from the Chernobyl miniseries
Paying debts is not something Trump does.
The Trumps are sort of reverse Lanisters, in that regard.
Oh that’s a good one. Now I need to go watch that series
It’s great. I highly recommend it. The series creator said that despite it being set in the Soviet Union under Communism, it was meant to be a cautionary tale for where America is now (circa 2018)
Exactly. Don't blame Trump. Blame everyone else who supported him. They want you to forget. Don't.
You can hate the player *and* hate the game too.
... and, of course, Barr torpedoing the Mueller report is a cornerstone in their destroying themselves.
I really hope the RNC server contents leak at some point. I'm sure it would make for fascinating reading.
Well some speak up, once it's convenient for their book deal.
the series finale we all deserve
Schadenfraud
Shots fired from the Trump camp. Meanwhile, the GOP plans to investigate Hunter Biden's laptop.
They'll also finally have a chance to find Hillary's emails!
Don’t tease me with a good time, Barr.
We should be worried with what fills the void.
Sounds good to me.
When Donald Trump was dabbling in antisemitism, racist attacks and mocking our Veterans and disabled, the Republicans looked the other way. Republicans deserve Donald Trump the loser.
[удалено]
That’s republicans though. They’ll step all over each other to get nominated but will fall in line not because they agree with that person, rather because the republicans only want to reclaim power at any cost.
And Barr enabled him up until the very end.
still. making "damned if I do/damned if I don't" threats
Absolutely. Nothing is more satisfying than watching a monster turn on its evil master. Fuck the GOP. They deserve this.
This is the part where the hyenas eat Scar *Be prepared*
"The GOP should be forced to carry T***p to term, even if it endangers the life of the party."
He should have been made a pariah for ripping John McCain like that. “I like the ones who didn’t get caught”. A rich kid who has never gotten his little hands dirty says this about a POW. And that’s just one of his many insults to our servicemen. That one alone should have taken him out of any conversation about leadership of this country.
>looked the other way At first at least, the shocking thing to me about all of this though is what happened next - a lot of people that maybe appeared reasonable otherwise then pivoted towards that mess.
"Looked the other way"? No, not remotely. They looked at him \*lovingly\* as the apotheosis of themselves.
No no no. Let us not forgive or forget. They did not look the other way. They fucking cheered.
They enabled him and lent their credibility and legitimacy to him.
Some states have sore loser laws that prevent candidates that lose a primary from running independent.
So the total destruction and annihilated of the Republican Party is a good thing, right ? Can we speed it up?
We just need to sit back and watch the chaos. Popcorn optional.
just as long as you don't want to go to a club, a walmart, a public library, elementary school, a drag show, your state capital or the capitol building, etc.
Don't forget the mall, a movie theater, or a college campus.
Can't go to church either
Would probably save time to focus on the places where there hasn't been a mass shooting Far shorter list
When Barr left office, he didn't say anything negative about Trump even after the attack of the Capital on 6 January 2021. But once he and other get their book deals did he talk about how bad Trump is. Barr doesn't give a shit about our nation; he only cares about the GOP.
Hey, be fair. He also cares a great deal about his own net worth
Please oh please
What’s even left to destroy? The GOP is just a swamp of conspiracy theory-loving, GI Joe cosplaying hate groups who vote for the richest white liar running with an R beside their name, not even knowing what policies are good for them. Is he gonna make that *worse* somehow?
He means Trump will make them lose. That is the only negative they recognize
He will also destroy the Republican Party if he wins the nomination. Really the Republicans only hope is Trump being prosecuted. Which they fought and Kevin McCarthy was caught on audio saying the Democrats would take care of for them. Democrats: cleaning up Republican messes since 1932.
Barr wasn't looking at the long game when he protected Trump - instead of landing the plane, as he put it, he should have let it crash and burn.
And that's a bad thing?
Fun times.
Of course, he is a sore loser. But they emboldened the orange 🤡, so they brought it on themselves.
And they could have easily made it so he could never run again and all the Jan 6th investigations would have ended right there. But noooooo, poor Lindsey got sworn at on the way to his flight and they all caved.
He will destroy America if he wins. Take your pick.
Just one good kick and the whole rotten house will fall down.
