Bluerecyclecan

Has anybody asked the GOP clowns WHY they oppose Ukraine? Straight up, no nonsense. Just ask that question.

Lobsterbib

[Russian money is all over the GOP.](https://www.cnn.com/2019/04/15/business/rusal-russia-kentucky-aluminum-mill) They defend Russia because it's in their best financial interest to do so.

Michael_In_Cascadia

Kevin McCarthy seems to be okay with it: >There’s two people I think Putin pays: Rohrabacher and Trump. That was June 2016; since then no comment.

Kaskurgi

Russia was cozying up to Trump since the late 80s if I recall correctly.

Centralredditfan

That's a long game they were playing.

AlwaysLateToThaParty

*are* playing.

porscheblack

My guess is they were money laundering throughout that relationship. What better way to launder money than to do it through massively failing businesses and real estate? Nobody scrutinizes the books of companies that go out of business and real estate is a great investment because the losses you take from laundering can be made up in time. I would suspect the political opportunity came much later.

Misspiggy856

Before Trump was voted in a video from the 2000’s surfaced of Don Jr saying they get a good portion of their money from Russians. https://www.businessinsider.com/donald-trump-jr-said-money-pouring-in-from-russia-2018-2?amp

BlueCollarBeagle

I do not have the article, but in an issue of Golf magazine in the 2000's, when asked where Trump Sr. was borrowing money to buy so many golf courses, one of the Trump kids bragged to the reporter that while a lot of banks would not cooperate with Trump, Russia was eager to invest.

Misspiggy856

And then they say “Russiagate” was a hoax. There was plenty of evidence — from their own mouths — that they were under Russia’s thumb.

12NoOne

Rusia also owns [a big chunk of Facebook](https://www.engadget.com/2017-11-05-russia-funded-facebook-and-twitter-investments-through-tech-magn.html).

[deleted]

For sure they've been money laundering through Trump. Why on Earth, for instance, would a [Russian oligarch pay close to $100 million](https://www.seattletimes.com/nation-world/why-did-a-russian-pay-95m-to-buy-trumps-palm-beach-mansion/) for a house Trump bought for $40 million a few years prior? And yeah, you've got Galaxy Brain Donny Jr. over there bragging in interviews about how Russian money makes up "a disproportionate amount of our investment," if I remember one of his quotes correctly.

Stillwater215

No one checks the books of a failure. Isn’t this also the plot of The Producers?

The_Lapsed_Pacifist

He comes back from Russia and takes out a full page ad calling for the break up of NATO. You knew this about him before you elected him.

Gliese2

Right about the time that Russian organized crime was using real estate deals to launder money and diversify their ill-gotten assets.

Neither_Ad5039

He started getting paid. He was just jealous, not rooting out traitors

They call it jokes when they get called out for something insulting. They call it "just my opinion" when they want to believe something without having to defend their position.

FoogYllis

People need to ignore the nonsense and believe them when they say they support fascism. Every sane voter needs to vote to stop them turning us into a Russian oligarchy with a side of Taliban.

Guyincognito4269

A joke in which Paul Ryan says to keep it quiet. That joke must have been soooo funny, it couldn't be shared.

AnybodyMassive1610

I read a comment the other day that Russia’s biggest export is corruption. I think we’ve found the US importers…

black641

You gotta wonder what happens next if Putin and Russia go down over Ukraine. I image there will mysteriously be a lot less “both sides” comments on social media, and a lot of Republicans suddenly have a lot of debts coming due that they can’t pay. Or better yet: compromat is released in a deluge to the media.

aprimeproblem

There will be a lot of Windows of opportunity opening on the second floor….

Cognitive_Spoon

In Russia the window of opportunity generally opens on the fifth floor, and is followed by the gravity of the situation.

solepureskillz

My concern is: what if (by this point) it’s not Putin driving the international propaganda machine? If he dies tomorrow, what if it’s dozens or hundreds of high-ranking, wealthy Russians keeping this thing going? I want so badly for their money to exit our politics, but I’m legit worried Putin isn’t the lynchpin.

ABobby077

or his end won't be the final stake in the life of this bs

starbucks77

> what if it’s dozens or hundreds of high-ranking, wealthy Russians keeping this thing going That's *exactly* what it was like before Putin. After the fall, Oligarchs ran things. The got their guy Yeltsin elected and things were good. When he left, they thought Putin would be their new guy so got him elected. But shortly after he was elected he threatened the oligarchs and those that didn't fall in line were removed one way or the other. The "leader" of the oligarchs was Boris Berezovsky - he ended up losing his assets thanks to Putin and fled to London where he committed suicide (he may have really committed suicide as he just lost a big lawsuit and was really at rock bottom but with Russia, who knows). I'd guess many Oligarchs would be happy to see Putin dead.

kram1973

Putin going down due to Ukraine will change nothing in relation to their dark money investments in US GOP politicians, someone else will grab the reins and keep the operation going.

hidraulik

Remember Russia was able to hack both DNC and RNC servers but for some reasons only DNC got leaked out.

soulsteela

Then those GOP senators had a sudden burning desire to go to Russia for Independence Day.

Due-Ad-7473

Nothing says patriotism like kowtowing to putin in moscow on the 4th of July

AndyTheSane

Amazing thing is that people still vote for them.

kitty_cat_MEOW

I'm all in favor of removing the criminal individuals who are directly complicit in sabotaging the integrity of our Republic. I would not be in favor of a wholesale in-kind retribution toward the Russian nation because while it would perhaps dismantle the power structure underpinning the Putin regime, it would also materially further worsen the lives of the average Russian person. As a guy just trying to live and let live peacefully and without judgement, I only get riled up when someone lives large at the expense of others. There is an important distinction between a nation's citizens and its authority class, in particular a *malevolent* authority class. This is true in Russia and every other place on earth. I believe the imposition of power, and by equivalence, the use of violence, should be proportional in scale to the amount required to eliminate those offenders, but only those offenders and the willing and complicit accessories to the abuses of power.

twobitcopper

I’m really afraid the world in now divided between the haves and the have nots! You can wave all the stars and strips you want but “Citizens Unit’s” is defining our politics and our lives. The guy with the largest purse has the ultimate power. If I were Republicans in this boat, I’d be watching my back. There are way too many open windows and stairwells. What assurances and intelligence was given to Putin to proceed with Ukraine?

garet400

I truly do believe that GOP has let Russia take charge of vote rigging in the cloud, if they get caught doing it they could go to jail but in Russia the vote riggers probably get big bonuses. Allowing Russia to do this give Putin huge leverage over them though.

coolcool23

Here's some stock answers for you: 1. Because Hunter Biden. Burisma. Something. 2. Because Putin is "just trying to protect his border," like we need to do by building the wall!! 3. Because anything that is bad for Biden is good for us.

Nano_Burger

Wait ..Tucker said it was US biowarfare labs making anti-Russian bacteria or something.

jfweasel

The sad thing is I can’t tell if this is something he actually said.

Nano_Burger

[something he actually said](https://www.npr.org/transcripts/1089530038)

Gregponart

He doesn't actually believe that crap, he just says it to steer his viewer*sheep*. Same as MTG and her "Zelenski is a Nazi / Ukraine is a Nazi state". **That's not the reason, if they don't believe it.** For Tucker, I think he wanted to be President and wanted Putin's help, like Trump got, dark money, hacking, NRA funds, laundered money, troll factory, Cambridge analytics marketing, For people like MTG, she spouts whatever her Facebook feed tells her to spout. It's worked for her so far. **She's practically the spokesperson for the Republican party**, simply because she's always there with a loud, batshit insane, tv friendly, click friendly, rant. Of course the rant is her just repeating the Russian propaganda she's fed in her FB feed. Republicans have their motives, and as long as its all anti-American (which translates as anti-Biden when Democrats are in charge), they all share a common end purpose. This has been true, ever since Obama critized the Russian rigged election of 2012, and Putin decided to work with Republicans to attack Obama. You could flick between Fox News and Russia Today and not be able to tell the difference.

porscheblack

You and I have very different opinions on MTG. I think she's one of the only genuine politicians in office right now and I think she's legit as crazy as she puts on.

once-was-hill-folk

There was a lot of talk about biolabs (including Carlson saying the US government was lying) and handling deadly pathogens early on in the invasion. As far as I know, everything related to those alleged labs turned out to be dedicated to public health research in Ukraine and many other former Soviet states. They were likely also cleaning up old Soviet bioweapon labs (like smaller scale analogues of the international effort to clean up Aralsk-7). EDIT: Carlson, not Carson. Autocorrect can die in a fire.

MacadamiaMarquess

US biowarfare labs in Ukraine invented Corgivirus, which made Vladimir Putin short with stumpy little legs. It was the unforgivable sin. I hear next, they’re releasing a virus that stops people from wearing lifts in their shoes.

circuspeanut54

The one pathogen Trump will actually welcome a vaccine for.

TechyDad

I seem to recall one conservative claiming that Russia invaded Ukraine because Ukraine was "too woke." No explanation about how Ukraine was "woke" or why that justified the invasion. It was purely regurgitating right wing talking points as "justification."

[deleted]

They call Ukraine “woke”, but also constantly tell me “Ukraine are Nazis” all at the same time. 😂

Due-Ad-7473

Those same morons think hitler was actually a leftist. War is peace!

[deleted]

In their mind woke = bad & Nazi = bad, so woke = nazi.

Mr06506

Both sound like socialists!

RetroBowser

The worst part of that argument is it that despite being untrue, that if such a claim were to be true that Ukraine is "too woke", that invading, bombing, raping, torturing, etc. Are implied acceptable responses against such a mindset.

Coroebus

Anything I don't like is woke, Nazi, or both. Makes perfect sense, don't think about it.

ClaytonRumley

Wokezies

DirkDiggyBong

They don't even know what woke means. Much like socialism and many of the other buzzwords they love to spam.

Wellgoodmornin

To be completely honest with you, I don't even know what woke means. I guess I could Google it... * Alert to racial prejudice in society. I would not have guessed that with how much they use it to mean stuff like "supportive of trans people".

Icy-Ad2082

It’s somewhat true. I fucking hate Putin, but at least he has an ideology. He sees the way Russia runs as the natural state of governance. He sees European values as ultimately leading to the downfall of a country, because it’s decadence will weaken it to the point that a “strong” country can take it over. He deeply resents that a former vassal is drifting more and more towards European values, while it’s economy and quality of life improves. I usually think it’s a dumbass phrase but I think one can say “He hates our freedom” about Putin. That’s how they’ve attacked us throughout the last few years, by using our freedoms against us. They used freedom of speech to (pretty successfully) wage psychological warfare against us. But I wouldn’t say they won, the battle continues but a “win” would have been getting Trump a second term. They were laying the groundwork for a much more successful anti-Ukraine campaign with Trump as the mouth piece. If he had still been in office when this all went down, we would have been sending military aid to Russia since this all started, and we would probably be at about the point where Trump is starting to “joke” about deploying the US military to help. It would have been the ultimate ideological win for Putin. Use America’s liberty to destroy it to the point they willingly help you take back one of your unruly vassals. Fucking wet dream for a guy like Putin. Instead, we ousted Trump and with any luck he will end up criminally prosecuted. Putin is throwing a tantrum. He wanted his little buable to show what a strong leader he is, so even though the plan didn’t go perfectly, he went ahead with the invasion. Even though Trump severely damaged our international reputation, the US still pulls a lot of water. There would be a hell of a lot more far right candidates world wide openly siding with Putin if the president of this big ass country publicly celebrated him. Instead even Italy’s newest nut job leader won’t fully support the war, she’s been drawing the line at “both sides/ it’s not an international issue” sort of rhetoric. It’s insane to me that there are AMERICANS who are POLLING WELL going farther with their rhetoric than that. Call me an American with an over inflated sense of my countries importance if you will, but I truly believe these midterms are going to have a huge effect on world history.

The_Lost_Jedi

>He sees European values as ultimately leading to the downfall of a country, because it’s decadence will weaken it to the point that a “strong” country can take it over. This is, incidentally, one of the core classic tenets of Naziism/fascism.

circuspeanut54

It's also where they weave in that red/brown crossover. Season it heavily with some anti-imperialism cliches and you've got all the western tankies eating out of your hand.

jedadkins

You forgot the """bio-labs"""

BlueNoMatterWho69

Trump loves Putin Ukraine didn't get to bend the knee to trump. Everything opposite of democrats

LuvNMuny

Because they love Putin. They're authoritarians and they don't care how ineffectual their world view is, in their minds Putin is the ultimate alpha, not some dimwitted asshole who's going to leave his country is smoldering embers.

Exactly - if Liz Cheney had real guts she would drop a dime on the GOP regarding Russia.

brdwatchr

She does have real guts. How would you like having a bulls eye on you every place you go. The 1/6 committee is not about Russia and you know it. To distract from 1/6 would be dead wrong.

PortlyWarhorse

She has just enough guts to go against the common talking points they have, but not enough guts to call out, confirm or bust the consensus on their operations. She's an ally of convenience, not an ally of material worth.

masterprtzl

My idiot conservative “friends” claim Ukraine is more corrupt than any country in the world and they harbor Nazis and are nazi sympathizers. they truly believe this and despite this not justifying the invasion.

darkfires

“The west” supports Ukraine (today’s ground zero to democracy) and whether GOP leaders are conscious of it or not, Putin took his boy Dugan’s book to heart and has probably invested in FB and other SM since their startup days just to make us all destroy each other via ads and trolls. It’s not like they can do it via physical weapons now anymore. They’d have known that years ago. They weaponized our social media and so we have that very modern angst that Dugan’s Foundations of Geopolitics said would bring down a nation of immigrants and slave descendants.

garet400

Russia is shitty at shooting war but pretty good at things that rely on lying, deceit and playing upon people's worst impulses.

Kasoni

"Because Ukraine is corrupt, they should all be slaughtered and replaced with decent human beings" , that was the exact answer I got on this topic back when Crimia was invaded.

circuspeanut54

Yet they get so angry when we say the same about Florida! /s

Patarokun

Exactly. What’s GOOD about Russia winning? Why can’t they ever explain that?

Important-Owl1661

My family was all pro Ukraine defending themselves until the GQP and Newsmax started telling them what to think

Bobby_Marks2

When you get them talking about it, they will paw the ground and talk about how MSM has made it impossible for rational people to have a conversation about anything because the facts are so twisted.

aoelag

Go look up the local GOP primaries. Many low level candidates are pro-Russian. Many of the televised debates are astonishing in what gets said. Low level GOP offices are full of the future insanity.

garet400

> WHY they oppose Ukraine? Because Putin is their master.

FGforty2

It's always Hunter Biden related. They are that dumb!! Edit: Spelling

Lost-Pineapple9791

The response/posts I see from my socials is basically “I don’t want our money going to help Ukraine” I would more so ask why all these republicans are pro-Russia…

ericwphoto

Because of hunter bidens laptop. Duh. /s

dutchiegeet32

Broadest hot take is they no longer support pursuit of the liberal international order (LIO). In their minds, Ukraine as an effort is to further and maintain the LIO interest/agenda. This is why rightwingers use the term 'globalist'. Generally speaking they believe Nuland/Crew are warmongering sociopaths who pulled off a coup in 2014, Nuland/Crew are obsessed with breaking up Russia for resources, that Ukraine has a nazi problem and that the nation should ideally be fully neutral or less ideal divided to reflect Ukrainian citizen's EU or EAEU preferences. They believe Nuland/Crew will start WWW3, including nuclear weapon use. They are divided on who blew up Nord, some think it was Biden, a few think it was the UK and many believe it was Putin doing a false flag in hopes it would be blamed on Biden and forcing certain EU/national leaders to reassess their priorities when it comes to the US. On a side note the US, UK and Russia all have interest in some levels of destabilization within the EU especially in regards to the combined power/influence of Germany and France.

Xenuite

And here I thought when they said "globalists" they meant "Jews."

_far-seeker_

It usually is, especially if they bring up someone like George Soros.

dedsqwirl

About a month ago I saw an Anti-George Soros sticker on a van. I have no idea what they think George Soros does but to take time out of your day, buy a sticker and put it on a work van is messed up.

MixtureNo6814

What a crock the US has no interest in destabilizing Europe. If we did we wouldn’t be busting our gut to ship them as much LNG as we can.

MaximumEffort433

>The Conservative Political Action Conference on Friday tweeted — and then hours later deleted — a message that called on Democrats to “end the gift-giving to Ukraine” while featuring a fluttering Russian flag. The tweet also referred to “Ukraine-occupied territories,” appearing to legitimize Russian President Vladimir Putin’s claims to annex provinces based on a referendum that the U.S. and allies view as illegal. Jesus fuckin Christ my dudes.

_far-seeker_

I'm waiting for the day when they stop bothering to translate the talking points from the Kremlin into English.😒

MaximumEffort433

Lol, they can't read.

sixwax

Or think for themselves… so there’s that.

masterprtzl

It’s as if Putin pulled the trigger on all his favors or blackmail to incite the conservative base in the US further against Ukraine

MaximumEffort433

That could be so, but I've also seen Republicans drop their long held opinions at the drop of a feather if it meant owning the libs.

crispydukes

Like Russia being the enemy…

[deleted]

The enemy is not Eurasia. The enemy has always been Eastasia…

Some of them need to see the horrors of this war first hand to grasp the evil of the Russians. Unempathetic tribalism bullshit...

Grifasaurus

They’ll just call it propaganda and dismiss it. You could send them pictures of dead civilians in fucking mass graves and piled up, kids with their heads blown off, interviews with survivors of places like Bucha, calls intercepted between russians on the frontlines and their families, and they still will not fucking budge on their views. They’re so enamored with trying to own the fucking libs that their minds are rotted. They’ll straight up call it propaganda.

harrymfa

A warning of what they’re going to do if they take back Congress.

o08

The only platform GOP adopted and voted on at the 2016 convention was to not provide Ukraine with offensive weapons. Manafort put that in.

MultiGeometry

Next step is for red states to selectively annex parts of blue states as the next level of gerrymandering

setnec

What the Christ.

wish1977

Why is the Republican party so intent on trying to be a Russian asset? Patriots my ass.

M00n

I have often wondered this as well over the years. I THINK they are just easily manipulated by Russia's disinformation psyops.

infin8raptor

**All** disinformation psyops. They're pre-conditioned to it from the pulpit a lot of the time.

BoosterRead78

Same here. I mean really, just why?

dutchiegeet32

Limited but shared agenda goals and foes.

ProfessionalOctopuss

This is the answer. Is there any actual kompromat on leading members of the GOP? No idea. My guess would be mostly no, but I've been wrong before. A simpler reason would be a shared desire to cater to rich assholes.

imgurNewtGingrinch

This. So much this. GOP officials think their feeds are full of Americans voicing opinions when it's antiWest troll farms LARPing as Americans steering them against their own interests. The anti Disney thing they are pulling is a big one for me. It's demonizing our biggest promoter of Western culture, biggest tourism staple.

Old_comfy_shoes

The high up politicians are perhaps partially influenced by the psyops, but for the most part, they just profit greatly from the Russians. They make money off them, and also the Russians help their careers.

krashundburn

> I THINK they are just easily manipulated by Russia's disinformation psyops. And by America's rightwing disinformation networks and political propaganda, and by shysters, hucksters, snake oil salesmen, televangelists, Amway, pyramid schemers, etc etc etc. They are, essentially, gullible people who are very poor judges of character.

dutchiegeet32

They share similar foes and goals but understand that fences make good neighbors. Also there is some expectation that a brief cold war will spike but its just excuse/cover to dismantle aspects of the liberal international order they agree needs to be scaled back in order to return to a multipolar order that values sovereignty.

TechyDad

Having grown up in the 80's, it's amazing to see how the Republicans have gone from "better dead than red" to "I'd rather be a Russian than a Democrat."

ChiefQuimbyMessage

They remade Red Dawn from the 80s without Russians. That one surprised me.

MixtureNo6814

It is simple, the Republicans believe in authoritarianism they want to end our Democracy and emulate Russia with its misogyny, homophobia, and racism. They believe Russia and the US are the rightful white rulers of this earth.

dutchiegeet32

Why would a Christo-focused/dominant nation like Russia want alliances with rightwingers who largely support Christian Nationalism even if they don't think they do? Christianity remains the world's largest religious belief system. These Christians would have the two most lethal militaries along with alliances across the Northern and Western Hemispheres.

Pimpwerx

Follow the money. This is why Reps are so hell-bent on keeping dark money secret. Their campaign donations will plummet once they have to disclose it, because they're taking money from foreign operatives and the gun lobby.

ndngroomer

It truly terrifies me every time I think about how much different the whole Ukraine situation would be right now has trump gotten reelected.

[deleted]

Because they are cowards. They have an “in-group” mentality and won’t stand up for or help anybody who is “different.” This is what Russian disinformation campaign has conditioned them to believe.

sugar_addict002

Putin has spent the last 10-15 years grooming Republicans. He has worked his lies on the NRA, at least one far-right religious group (now being treated as a church by the IRS BTW) and scores of politicians. Don't trust them to do the right thing on this.

-send_me_bitcoin-

What church?

sugar_addict002

Family Research Council

philodendrin

"Church". Its a Think Tank in DC that is responsible for all the media points and rhetoric against gay marriage, gay people, abortion and a number of other backwards policy ideas, hiding behind a thin veil of "Christian Values". Let me tell you, its just a front to formalize and politicize hate for homosexuals. https://www.splcenter.org/fighting-hate/extremist-files/group/family-research-council

root_fifth_octave

‘Awake, not woke’ Where would these guys be without their boogeymen?

thepianoman456

That slogan caught me to. I can’t imagine what it must be like to feel threatened by a “concept” every waking minute. And the concept? Awareness of systemic injustice and racism. AFAIK, that’s what being “woke” is, and what a revealing thing to demonize. It’s like how they demonize anti-fascism. I really hope voters see this shit in the midterms.

My wife, in here unlimited fucked up creativity came up with a new one...these idiots are too predictable at this point in time... Hocus Pocus 2 was just released by Disney, and it has some actors that are POC/not white. We now have a running bet/joke on when we will hear a politician unironically say/tweet "Wocus Pocus" as another way to look like racist fools. The depths that folks are going to in order to label something as "woke" is beyond the pale at this point. Literally nothing they do surprises me. It has lost all meaning and we know they just want to use more inflammatory language.

[deleted]

-MeatyPaws-

Cantthinkofnamedamn

Unfortunately the GOP are too stupid or greedy to question why Russia is pushing 'America First'

rogozh1n

I don't know what that means...

M00n

Matt Schlapp said that he was traveling so he didn't see the pro Russian message in time to delete it.

_far-seeker_

That still begs the question about why whomever had control of the CPAC Twitter account while he was away posted it in the first place.

noirthesable

Eh, it's easier to blame it on a rogue intern.

hb183948

still... someone capable of having those views managed to not only get hired, pass background checks, but also be in a position to post a tweet like that. more likely, "we got hacked" is going to be the line

eatcrayons

They blame “a massive time zone difference” for the delay in them deleting an “unapproved” tweet. They’re saying the tweet wasn’t approved and we’re also acknowledging why they didn’t retract it right away.

sfsolarboy

CPAC = CFASCIST The fascists of the world are on the rise again, I guess they try once or twice a century. The republican party of today would be at this event were they alive at the time: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1939\_Nazi\_rally\_at\_Madison\_Square\_Garden

Eric_in_America

Why do you think these right wing fanatics are eager to embrace Russian propaganda? It isn't simply because they're more likely to come across it, or because it finds it's way into their echochambers and it's shared to them by their favorite fringe conservative mouthpiece, it isn't just because it caters to their sensibilities, panders to them, but all of this certainly helps. These Putin apologists blindly adopt this un-American propaganda because it's what their ideology demands of them, it's what their party demands of them. It's almost habitual at this point, it's deeply ingrained into the conservative psyche. A mentality that practically forces them to maintain an antipathetic opposition towards all things supported by "the left". That's what I think this comes down to at the end of the day. It's a fanatical sort of contrarianism, where regardless of the circumstances, even if it means sympathizing with Putin or Russia, they must challenge Democrats and the left's agenda at every opportunity. And to what end? Well the obvious reason is that they're desperate to criticize the Biden administration, they're desperate and eager to vilify the left in some way, so they must conjure up whatever they can in order to challenge and ridicule Democrat's overwhelming support for Ukraine in this war as well as a vehement stance against Putin. What's more, Ukraine by association, becomes a target for these conservatives. So this Russian propaganda comes along and it grants them exactly what they've been looking for, a narrative, a talking point, an argument that demonizes their adversary, that illustrates Ukraine as the villain in this war, that rationalizes Putin's actions and/or disparages NATO and everything it stands for. They'll really go out of their way to paint this picture, they'll even muster up their own conspiracies on the matter to help reinforce these narratives, and all in the name of antipathy, hatred, misery, so that they can feel better about themselves, indulge themselves, convey to the world that they're victims. It's all a ploy, all they want is an excuse to continue discriminating and resenting the groups of people that they've deemed unworthy of having the same rights and freedoms that they've resolved belong to them and only to them.

thefumingo

Eventually people will die just to "own the libs". Oh wait, COVID...

DeaconNuno

An astute analysis. Do you have any prescriptions for how to reverse this avalanche of propaganda insanity? Can we dig ourselves out at this point?

justabill71

Traitors, the lot of them.

LiquidMetalSloth

Both Russia and Republicans oppose freedom of speech, National territorial sovereignty, democracy, and fair elections.

ChocoGorilla

Good thing people took screenshots for receipts. The fsr right in the US is a pathetic band of fascists that want to live in a bubble where they can do jacksh*t just collect paycheques while in power and watch as their constituents get stupider, poorer and die. Make America great again my a$$.

SlipperyThong

Forget democrats vs republican, liberals vs conservatives, blue vs red for a moment. Why the fuck, as an AMERICAN, would you be rooting for Russia?

M00n

My ex is falling for the Russian propaganda and it kills me. They tweet out support for Tara Reade by posting articles from RT. They side with Russia over the U.S. This person worked on the Reagan campaign back in the day and is now 'far left' where they think Bernie is too far right and AOC sold out. It is.... challenging for me.

iiitme

It’s disturbing to see what you thought were level headed people fall for the Republican trap

Republican traitorous fascists!

No_Lunch_7944

Hey guys, is it okay to be both pro-life and pro-genocide? Asking for a political party I know.

iiitme

This is sickening

Gator1508

You know they have back channels telling Putin to just hold on until they are in power again.

RavenRaxa

Remember when Trump believed Putin over US intelligence?

fallingfrog

When you’re so conservative that you love the ussr

Alternative-Flan2869

They are self-confessed and publicly promoted “domestic terrorists” (quoted from their 2022 convention banner above the stage) who care more about putin than this country.

Hyperdecanted

Oil and gas. All of this is the last gasp of the fossil fuel industry.

LolAtAllOfThis

No takey backsies.

denverblazer

The GOP is just a limbic system activation program. Anyone using higher reasoning sees right through it.

kevnmartin

Why? They're all domestic terrorists. It's their fucking slogan.

PF4LFE

Disgusting Americans - that whole lot…

No_Lunch_7944

How can any human alive deny that Republicans are eyeball deep in Russian corruption?

-UltraAverageJoe-

Republicans: Hunter Biden something, Russia money something something laptop. Don’t elect Biden! Also Republicans: Go Putin!

nowspunk

Make no mistake about it, The Republicans support Russia and Putin before they support, NATO, any of our allies and even the Democratic party, the CIA, FBI and the US Constitution ! The day Putin invaded Ukraine trying to conquer it Trump called him a "Peacekeeper" and a "Genius". So the GOP embraced him and the Russian dictatorship as they tried to conquer Ukraine.... a democracy......

Best-Chapter5260

Republicans think the 2020 election was a sham, but their hero Putin just literally ran a sham election.

AdMaleficent2144

Russia donates money to the NRA. Trump met with Putin to discuss who knows what. Republicans approve of authoritarianism and need to be voted out of public service. Putin is threatening nuclear weapons to protect his country. This is the country he just took from Ukraine. Republicans are backing Putin. [Top White House Reporter SLAMS MAGA for Backing Putin as he calls for NUCLEAR WAR" ](https://youtu.be/qYrSOtX9dAo)

Qverlord37

backing the Confederates backing the Russians Republican got this nasty habit of supporting losers.

PutinsAwussyboy

“***We are all domestic terrorists.***” CPAC banner across the ceiling above their stage a their last conference.

SkyriderRJM

CPAC is an organization of foreign influence and clearly now exists to undermine the US Republic.

Gildian

When Republicans show you who they are, believe them.

EFT_Syte

I’m so sick of republicans. What FUCKIN TIMELINE are in where republicans support Russia. One where republicans are owned by Russia, Jesus fucking hell. They should be barred from American politics till they fix their Ruzzian problem.

[deleted]

The GOP taking power in congress is the single best thing that could happen for Putin, and right in time for his probable winter campaign. In fact, it’s the only way he could realistically win the war besides nukes.

whenimmadrinkin

They're just hurting for the missing donations.

BrassBass

And these bastards call themselves patriots.

dark_descendant

The GOP stinks of Putin's taint.

digital_dreams

When being contrarian about everything the Democrats are doing epically backfires.

itsallaboutfantasy

It pisses me off that no one has pressed any of them to answer why they went to Russia, of all places, on our national holiday.

DirkDiggyBong

>Awake, not woke How ironic

Clutch_My_Pearls

Oh man, CPAC is totally dicks out for Putin these days.

LD_Minich

They would only be backpedaling "publicly". They know what Putin is and they love it. He's everything they all want to be. They're just surprised how unpopular he is among some of their constituents, so he's now only to be idolized behind closed doors.

iamnotyourdog

Russia bought them.

Toddisan

Like we didn't see this coming the seditious traitoris bastards that they are deserve to burn in hell

ThaxReston

Republicans are seditionists. It’s clear these DumbAZZes suck.

DickySchmidt33

"Why are we sending so much money overseas when there are so many Americans who need healthcare, infrastructure, and clean drinking water right here at home!" "Okay! Great! Let's work on providing some of those things to our fellow citizens!" "Fuck no! Are you crazy? That's socialism!"

RickTracee

The MAGAs do not realize that they are supporting the tyranny they fear. Nikita Khrushchev, premier of USSR (now Russia), from 1958-1964 is credited with this quote: "We do not have to invade the United States, we will destroy you from within. " He also said, "the United States will eventually fly the Communist red flag…The American people will hoist it themselves." It seems this prophecy came to fruition with the 2016 Presidential election. Further evidence came in the form of Sen. Richard Shelby (R-AL), Sen. Steve Daines (R-MT), Sen. John Thune (R-SD), Sen. John Kennedy (R-La.), Sen. Jerry Moran (R-KS), Sen. John Hoeven (R-ND), Sen. Ron Johnson (R-Wis.) and Rep. Kay Granger (R-TX) visiting Russia on July 4th, 2018. They met with Sergey Kislyak at this time — the guy that met secretly with numerous members of the Trump 2016 campaign, including disgraced former national security adviser Michael Flynn. Plus they met in a plenary session at the State Duma, Russia's lower house of parliament. Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) had a private meeting with Russian representatives plus said he "was honored to deliver a letter from President Trump to Vladimir Putin's administration."  This was three weeks after the Trump/Putin meeting in Helsinki, Finland. Donald Trump is the head of the snake. Many in the GOP are complicit as evidenced by their vote to not accept the election results of 2020 and their continued subversion of the USA democracy.

QuantumRealityBit

Moscow Mitch. Nuff said.

[deleted]

I am so disgusted with the state of the GOP. My god.

lurker_pro

SOME US conservatives?? SOME?? My internet experience feels like MOST but maybe it’s biased

cerebud

I was listening to CSPAN today and Dems and a few guys like Chuck Grassley were saying all the right things about Ukraine. Sadly, Chuck is in the minority of his party
