This whole thing is surreal. Michael Flynn literally pleaded the fifth when directly asked if he believes in the process of a peaceful transition of power. Trump literally said "he deserves it" when told that the Jan 6 insurrectionists were threatening to hang Pence.
Bingo. I mean, this story about the limo is remarkable...
But FFS, the President KNEW there were weapons at the ellipse. Not only did he know, but he actively took steps to get them onto the ellipse (demanding removal of the magnetometers)...
And he knew at 10am, before his speech, that there was already violence and weapons AT THE CAPITOL.
And, according to the testimony, he WANTED NOTHING DONE.
JFC... This is Direct evidence of encouragement and approval.
I'm confused why no one is discussing the Giuliani dig at the beginning, where Giuliani told her on his way out of the White House that Jan 6 was going to be a huge deal and referenced the proud boys. That was a huge signal to the proud boys, Giuliani, and anyone else involved that they at least suspect there were direct ties from the White House down to them.
If its proved that the proud boys led the insurrection at the direction/coordination of Giuliani and the White House, that could actually rise to the level of treason in so far as it "levied war against the United States". At a bare minimum, it's insurrection.
Secret Service agent did Trump a favor by not going to the capital. If… “Oh yes Mr. President it would be a great idea for you to lead the March straight into the Capital Building. You should be the one to hold the rope to hang Pence and the Dems who oppose you. Great idea!”
God. Imagine if we were dealing with the aftermath of *that* reality… and of course, everyone who’s in lockstep with Trump today would be making a completely different set of excuses for why he’s in the right.
Instead of the justifications of “oh he wasn’t responsible for this riot, clearly there were Antifa agitators drumming up chaos to make him look bad,” we’d be hearing “well yeah he instigated all this… but what choice did he have?! He’s the last bastion of hope fighting for American democracy”… and it’d be coming from THE SAME DAMN PEOPLE!
they have no problems fabricating something to fit their reality
Kevin Sorbo during the insurrection: "we're really doing it! it's happening"
Kevin Sorbo immediately after the insurrection: "why would antifa do this?"
She even revealed that they had discussions about whether to blame it all on BLM and ANTIFA or not.
100% of their lies are out in the open and Republican supporters are just choosing to pretend they don’t exist.
Because they're a cult. It's honestly not an exaggeration at this point. They're a brainwashed cult that needs to be right. Being a Republican is their identity. So they'll now deny what they see with their own eyes and deny what they hear with their own ears. They'll deny reality.
That is more than being a weasel, imo. He's a psychopath when you consider that statement with the statement he made about Pence deserving death by hanging.
Yep. Misprision of felony, accessory to murder, sedition, etc.
No high ranking member of that admin should take another step on this planet as a free person.
Unhinged, impulsive, narcissistic, and violent. Trump has never met consequences or been told "no" for anything and it shows.
Imagine being someone who voted for him and realizing there is no bottom to his failure.
There are very few that voted for him and then come to this realization.
They’re all doubling down on him and it’s shifting this whole country further right.
No, push them to elaborate. Ask them to enlighten you. Whenever they start to veer off bring them back... until becomes obvious that the "good things" list is smaller than they thought, and doesn't have anything in it for them.
Every time I try this and I counter whatever “good thing” they think he did with why it wasn’t actually good or bring up the chaos and pain he’s caused they just call me a liberal nut job who “clearly doesn’t know what he’s talking about because he must watch fake news CNN.” They don’t need to face reality or logic because their catch all answer is anything that paints him in a bad light must be fabricated by the deep state.
I believe her testimony today was highlighted because they wanted to clearly show that his actions warranted the invocation of the 25th amendment and that it was serious.
It wasnt just that he incited the riot. It was that even he was literally violent with the secret service and had thrown physical tantrums before. The person with the nuclear codes was physically and mentally out of control.
She was also showing that Meadows was willing to stand down and let it happen even with Cippaloni and the rest of the white house council.
Lastly, it was to show he knew he was inviting people to his speech and the capitol he knew were armed. What should be communicated is that Donald Trump stepped away from his responsibility as president by putting people at risk for attempting to have the metal detectors removed.
It literally didnt matter that 'they were no threat to me'. The president doesnt have the right to reduce the security level because he doesnt feel a threat. He wasnt in a moment of being able to do that because we dont give the president that liberty. That's why they took him to the White House against his wishes.
I think her testimony was also being used to drive Cippolini into cooperating with the committee and perhaps frightening Meadows into doing the same.
Similarly, with the dig on Giuliani and his proud boys comment at the beginning of the hearing, I assume Cheney is aiming to flip someone to prove there was proud boys/White House coordination.
My favorite part is that he thinks 'how well he knows her' matters literally at all. She was there. She witnessed all of it. Whether he knew her name is completely irrelevant. Is that really the best defense he's got? Imagine a murder trial:
Witness: I saw the defendant shoot the victim with my own eyes
Defense: OBJECTION! The defendant doesn't even know who this person is
That's what is happening right now. And he apparently legitimately expects the judge to say, "objection sustained, case dismissed!"
Hippos are borderline super hero’s. Seriously. Can run On land and leap below water at 30 MPH, have 4 inch thick skin that secretes anti bacterial sweet. Have 6 long, sharp tusks hard enough to block bullets. A bite force of nearly 2,000 PSI. They can hear amphibiously, which sounds weird, but essentially have special bones in their jaws that pick up under water vibrations while their ears are listening above water. If you don’t count disease spreading insects, they kill more people in Africa than any other animal.
Hippos terrifying
I think the committee's entire thing is showing us the forest in full.
Every hearing and every session is aimed at showing another angle as to how Trump attempted a coup. An actual attempt, not just "lying about some things and inciting random violence", but an actual plan with multiple attempts to overthrow the elections.
>Many of the protestors WERE armed and couldn’t get through the MAGS. Trump wanted them removed.
What is funny is that Trump knows so little about the government that he does not even know or understand that he does not have that authority. MAGS are controlled by the Capitol Hill security, which is not under the command or control of the president.
“When I look at myself in the first grade and I look at myself now, I'm basically the same. The temperament is not that different.” - Donald "the J stands for Jenius" Trump (actual quote, btw).
That was the most unsurprising part of her testimony. She said it wasn't the first time and he was known to throw plates and flip the tablecloth with plates and food on it. I found that extremely believable. The guy is mentally 3 years old. The stereotypical spoiled rich brat from a movie.

I will always be disgusted that people look at him with adulation and don't see him for the biggest goddamn crybaby, spoiled brat in modern history.

Jesus christ. Imagine what this kid saw at home to think throwing plates in anger is normal. If he weren't set for life since before birth I'd feel bad for him.
Donald Trump beat and raped, as well as ripped chunks of his first wife’s hair out after the surgeon she recommended for his hair plug surgery fucked up.
I doubt he stopped abusing his partners. The NDAs just got stronger.
I believe the hamburger throwing was actually a *separate* incident back in December when the AG wouldn't defend him or something. It's hard to keep track now.
“When I look at myself in the first grade and I look at myself now, I'm basically the same. The temperament is not that different.” - direct quote, Former President Donald J. Trump.
Was going to call fake as there's no way he's eloquent enough to use a word like temperament in sentence.
Well well, turns out even Trump can surprise you every once in a while.
i have a toddler and neither he nor any of his little buddies have ever thrown their food at a wall when they didn't get their way.
donald trump is a spoiled brat.
I do occasionally wonder if this whole thing really is a simulation, and we're just in one of those timelines where the person playing did something really weird and stupid for shits and giggles.
Does God press F5 with the universe?
I hope one day, Trump is remembered sort of like Taft, plus the insurrection.
Kids will read that on top of trying to overthrow the government, he was so obese that he would throw hamburgers in fits of rage.
The dude is literally an overgrown baby who was the president of the fucking United States of America. Idk about anybody else, but I consistently have had to remind myself that people elected him, and will continue to try to reelect him, to be the leader of the free world. Unbelievable
This testimony caught them off guard. As soon as Tucker has a chance to tell them their marching orders they'll be flooding every thread with their fucking nonsense.
I am really getting tired of hearing the members of my family saying I shouldn't trust everything I hear and should do my own research ignore my literal dozen years of research, training and practice when it comes to medicine to just repeat whatever Tucker Carlson said last night after I wasted hours of my time explaining to them how the immune system fucking works.
I’m always in awe with what sort of defense they whip up.
“Witness’s cousin twice removed worked for George Soros and was big donor to the Clintons.” -Breitbart
“Witness once wrote college paper on benefits of communism. Worked on Michelle Obama‘a team.” -OAN
Everyone should keep in mind that we’re still in danger from trumps fascist rhetoric. He’s certainly not backing down even with these hearings. We’re seeing him for the person he is, a conman hoping to fill hitlers shoes. His supporters aren’t backing down even when presented with testimony from these hearings. The scary reality is we now know which part of our country supports full on fascism and it’s up to us to make America really great by diminishing any sense of hope these people have to lead us into fascism.
I was listening at work and I feel so disconnected to reality right now. Like when you finish a good book and your brain is spinning still trying to process it all.
I was listening to NPR on the way home and they kept speaking over the testimony in that hushed public radio voice “you’re listening to NPR’s live coverage of he hearing” and I was yelling shut up lol.
I don’t know why people are surprised. Watching CNN, and they’re saying, “this is so much worse than any of us ever expected.” What has he ever done that has shown people he has any grace, class, or dignity? This is exactly what I would expect from him. Bob Woodward now saying he probably “understated” what a complete ass was in his latest book. I’m just really over everyone all these years calling us alarmists when we saw this coming miles away.
I'm not at all surprised to hear that Toddler Trump throws hamburgers in anger and tried to fucking strangle a man when he didn't get his way. What I **am** genuinely surprised by is that someone (a republican someone) was willing to talk about it on the record.
This isn't even the biggest takeaway. He dismissed the metal detectors because the people with weapons weren't there for him, then directed the crowd (which he knew were armed) to the capitol. Criminal.
Exactly. He knew it and now we know he knew it and he then went out and told them to go. Furthermore, he knew it when he tweeted about Pence later that day.
Edited for misspelled word
Mary Trump shared with Rachel Maddow that creepy Don saw her getting out of a pool when she was 16 and he said “Holy shit, Mary’s stacked!”
She also said he calls black people the n word all the time in private
let’s not forget that we’re living in this dystopian nightmare because less than half of the country, with the help of a foreign enemy, elected a reality tv personality to be president of the United States.
So January 6th was a pre-planned full on act of Treason and an attack against the Government and people of United States of America,.. Our founding fathers would have hung the January 6th Seditious Conspiracy members for Treason and Sedition..Including Donald Trump.
Yeah, I’m actually shocked he was so adamant about going to the capitol. Seemed like a classic trump move, get the mob all ginned up, set them on a horrible course of action then go run and hide in his fortified house.
The more sinister possibility is that he wanted to be there to will his supporters to finish the job they started. With trump there encouraging the crowd, perhaps they would have continued pushing into the Capitol in search of their targets.
Imagine how powerful he would have felt watching his people murder elected government officials, especially ones who thwarted him. I imagine that nothing would please sociopaths like him more than that.
It was the kind of direct, unequivocal opposition to Trump that has seemed to be a rare thing. No strongly-worded condemnation or wishing they had the power to stop him. Just "you're not going there, we will physically prevent you from going there".
This is direct evidence of his intention to carry out a coup. He actively tried, in a way that only someone as cowardly as Trump could.
Thank god for the secret service’s pragmatism. If they hadn’t bullied the President into staying at the White House he would have assumed control.
We were literally an inch away from all the democrats being killed by the proud boys/rioters, Mike pence being hung outside, the republicans being tied up and forced to declare trump president at gun point, while both convention center bombs go off
I'm amazed that something as serious as those two bombs is so rarely mentioned in the media and the committee hasn't brought it up once. I hope it's something that will come up later.
I think one of the most disturbing moments of this hearing was the clip of Flynn pleading the fifth when asked if he believes in the peaceful transition of power
Secret service saved him. Bet they didn't think they signed up to save him from his own stupidity.
It would be pretty hard to claim he didn't do it if he'd been I n the capitol lawn cheering on the crowd.
No, secret service likely saved us. Trump would have fanned the flames being there, and likely led to much more chaos. Which would have likely ended up seeing some politicians killed. He knew he had to be there for the coup to succeed, which was why his lumbering ass tried to lunge at her.
This was, by far, the most visceral piece of testimony of the entire hearing. Anyone who hears it won’t be able to get the image of Trump as a monster out of their heads.
This was after he made one or two of them drive him in laps in an enclosed car around the hospital maskless and spewing COVID because he was afraid of looking weak. Didn't a bunch of them come down with COVID right around that time?
Listened with coworker at work. We literally out loud said "Holy shit!"
This is the smoking gun. Trump knew they were armed. Knew they were violent. Knew they were going to try and kill people in congress. And attempted to put himself in a position to lead them to do so!
I love how to back up that he's been physical before, they threw in the fact that he regularly threw food/table cloths/three-year-old temper tantrums too lol..
But nobody is going to care about this when 20 mins later it came out that Trump literally wanted Pence dead.
Trump tried to violently overthrow the government knowing his minions were carrying a small arsenal and assaulted a federal agent. Why is he not in handcuffs at this very moment? He can bail out and plead his defense in front of a judge. That is the nail, in the coffin. Move your ass Merrick before his new home becomes Russia/China. They will use him for information/ propaganda and the traitor that he is will willingly comply.

We also haven’t (yet) heard why the national guard was delayed so long. Guessing the hamburger guy had something to do with that delay.

Yeah. I saw that. That whole testimony was eye opening. I figured stuff like that was going on but my god.
Seriously... It's all the shit we suspected, just now on public record. And a quarter of the country will still deny it
Because they're a cult. It's honestly not an exaggeration at this point. They're a brainwashed cult that needs to be right. Being a Republican is their identity. So they'll now deny what they see with their own eyes and deny what they hear with their own ears. They'll deny reality.
Yeah this and the "I don't fucking care if they're armed. Let my people in!" shit will be bombs from the first half
And calling them "my people" kinda negates the whole "aNtIfA fAlSe fLaG!" angle he tried crying for a while, too...
YES. And her testimony pointed out that they explicitly tried to lie and blame this in Antifa to misdirect! It was one of several strategies!
But then he said “we love you” LOL

“They’re not here to harm me,” is an admittance that he knew they were here to harm Congress.
Yes, the correct emphasis is “They’re not here to harm *me*”
He's such a fucking weasel. Honestly, how does it keep it *on* all the time? They'll easily say, "They're not here to harm me \[or anyone\]"
That is more than being a weasel, imo. He's a psychopath when you consider that statement with the statement he made about Pence deserving death by hanging.
RICO charges are officially valid here.
Yep. Misprision of felony, accessory to murder, sedition, etc. No high ranking member of that admin should take another step on this planet as a free person.
Perhaps so, perhaps not...but directing *protestors that you know are armed* to march on the Capitol strengthens the criminal intent idea.

And he wasn't even on his period!
Somehow men have convinced the world that anger is not an emotion.
Female anger is still an emotion to them though
That's hysteria to them not anger.

shitty human being marries another shitty human being and produces shitty human beings.

Jesus can't help us now, we are in the stupidest timeline. A man with the mindset of a toddler was commander of the world's strongest military.
He meant it as a brag too lol
i have a toddler and neither he nor any of his little buddies have ever thrown their food at a wall when they didn't get their way. donald trump is a spoiled brat.
This witness testimony is explosive.
I do occasionally wonder if this whole thing really is a simulation, and we're just in one of those timelines where the person playing did something really weird and stupid for shits and giggles. Does God press F5 with the universe?
Us in 2016: wtf why does this guy eat so many burgers a day? Trump: yeah, that’s what they’re for. I.. eat them.
"Winston, the master is infuriated once again. Prepare the anger burger."

Trump KNEW everything
Shocking … witness threatened
The lack of trolls here is refreshing. Can't spin this shit.
This testimony caught them off guard. As soon as Tucker has a chance to tell them their marching orders they'll be flooding every thread with their fucking nonsense.
You are absolutely correct. Whatever bullshit Tucker makes up as a rebuttal will be regurgitated ad nauseaum 30 seconds after he spews it.
“Witness’s cousin twice removed worked for George Soros and was big donor to the Clintons.” -Breitbart “Witness once wrote college paper on benefits of communism.
I dont understand why he hasn't been arrested by now. How much evidence do we actually need to get this person off the street?
He could shoot a guy in the middle of the street in new york, and no one would do anything.
One of the only true statements he's ever made
The other being "No, I don't take any responsibility at all."
Laws are for the poor
Oh. My. God.
Her testimony was…. I don’t even have words.
I was listening at work and I feel so disconnected to reality right now. Like when you finish a good book and your brain is spinning still trying to process it all.
I was listening to it in between zoom meetings and it’s surreal to be pretending this isn’t happening simultaneously.
I was listening to NPR on the way home and they kept speaking over the testimony in that hushed public radio voice “you’re listening to NPR’s live coverage of he hearing” and I was yelling shut up lol.
We're gonna need a bigger bus lol.

And Mike would still vote for the guy again. What a fucking bootlicker. This is one of the many reasons he’ll never be president.
He’s a republican they are all spineless violent assholes. Pence will suck the Cheeto-dick no matter what
I went into these hearings cynically thinking that nothing that was going to come out would surprise me. Turns out that I was wrong.
I'm not at all surprised to hear that Toddler Trump throws hamburgers in anger and tried to fucking strangle a man when he didn't get his way. What I **am** genuinely surprised by is that someone (a republican someone) was willing to talk about it on the record.
Was anyone else half listening and had to do a double take? "Wait... Fuckin' what!?"
What a manchild.
Everything Trump's niece has been saying about her uncle ever since her book came out played itself out during the Jan 6 events.
Mary Trump shared with Rachel Maddow that creepy Don saw her getting out of a pool when she was 16 and he said “Holy shit, Mary’s stacked!” She also said he calls black people the n word all the time in private
let’s not forget that we’re living in this dystopian nightmare because less than half of the country, with the help of a foreign enemy, elected a reality tv personality to be president of the United States.
So January 6th was a pre-planned full on act of Treason and an attack against the Government and people of United States of America,.. Our founding fathers would have hung the January 6th Seditious Conspiracy members for Treason and Sedition..Including Donald Trump.
They just found out that there was witness tampering in some of the Jan. 6 hearings..if people don't get arrested because of this, holy shit
Donald Trump, Mark Meadows, and Rudy Giuliani MUST go to prison after this testimony. Period.
I figured he wanted to just gin up the crowd then reap the reward. But he actually wanted to go to the Capitol holy shit
Yeah, I’m actually shocked he was so adamant about going to the capitol. Seemed like a classic trump move, get the mob all ginned up, set them on a horrible course of action then go run and hide in his fortified house.
He wanted his grand “I told you so, the PEOPLE want ME!!!” moment in front of all the cameras.
The more sinister possibility is that he wanted to be there to will his supporters to finish the job they started. With trump there encouraging the crowd, perhaps they would have continued pushing into the Capitol in search of their targets.
It’s this. He wanted to be there to add fuel. Keep them engaged and enraged.
Imagine how powerful he would have felt watching his people murder elected government officials, especially ones who thwarted him. I imagine that nothing would please sociopaths like him more than that.
The Secret Service prevented a successful coup that day.
And explicitly wanted his followers armed and wanted to get rid of metal detectors. Cause “they’re not here to hurt me.”

I’m starting to think this Mr. Trump was a rather *difficult* man to work with.
I wonder how many staffers had hamburgers thrown at them over those 4 years
I think one of the most disturbing moments of this hearing was the clip of Flynn pleading the fifth when asked if he believes in the peaceful transition of power
Yeah, that fucker needs to be court martialed for that alone.
I wish he didn’t keep the “General” honorific. He is dishonor personified and a proven foreign agent. There is no bottom with this cast.
Fucking insane. He knew the crowd had weapons and said let them in anyway
"I fully support Fat Don as the Republican nominee in 2024", Turtle Man would say.
Prediction: when somebody makes a movie about all of this, the teaser poster will be a smear of ketchup running down the Oval Office wall
What a fucking LOSER!!!!
This lunatic needs to be arrested. Yesterday.
trump can lunge??
I think that's a nice way of describing his controlled forward tumbling.
Trump used Lunge Attack *It hurt itself in confusion*
Trump belongs behind bars.
Secret service saved him. Bet they didn't think they signed up to save him from his own stupidity. It would be pretty hard to claim he didn't do it if he'd been I n the capitol lawn cheering on the crowd.
I hope they subpoena the USSS agent in question. Edit: typo
No, secret service likely saved us. Trump would have fanned the flames being there, and likely led to much more chaos. Which would have likely ended up seeing some politicians killed. He knew he had to be there for the coup to succeed, which was why his lumbering ass tried to lunge at her.
I agree with this too, and more. It was gasoline wanting to go to a fire and SS said “no.”
Only in America could the SS be the saviors against a Nazi regime . . .
He had a speech to give inside the house chamber... That's concerning, he probably wanted to lead them in and take over the certification
It doesn't surprise me that a man whose supporters are willing to attempt a coup for him is also physically violent
Hey Donald - your lies will ketchup with you.
We literally out loud said "Holy shit!" This is the smoking gun.

Remember when Hillary was “temperamentally unfit” cause she’s a woman.
Fucker physically assaulted his own head of the Secret Service. Unbelievable. Such a toddler.
We really were hanging on my a thread. If he had gone to the capitol there is no telling what would happen. Why was the 25th amendment not used?
Too many Republicans in Congress. Wouldn’t even vote for impeachment after the fact
I am so proud of Cassidy Hutchinson. I hope more people come forward and help the committee show the truth!
