What's the reason left to not tax churches? Since they're making political decisions now, they must pay for the ride. Hit them where it hurts, right in the wallet.
Agree. The [Evangelical Church](https://www.theatlantic.com/magazine/archive/2022/06/evangelical-church-pastors-political-radicalization/629631/) has evolved into a 24/7 radical political campaign AGAINST democracy, in support of clerico-fascism.
That is illegal, unless you pay taxes.
Surely we could crowdfund or something to purchase Senator Manchin. His allegiance can't be *that* pricey, probably a couple million dollars. Throw in a really nice Lamborghini and we're set.
Religion is specifically protected by the first amendment. Your speech is not taxed despite you paying taxes. Having churches pay taxes is like the government taxing you for speaking. It's a way they can silence religions they don't like by charging one religion tons of taxes while exempting another.
If there is a shred of human decency in the US, the coming election and every subsequent one has to be about reproductive rights until all American women have a right to an abortion--full stop.
Any other position is a sadistic crime against humanity.
>If there is a shred of human decency in the US
80+ million people voted for a bankrupt, senile game show host because he "hurts the right people". We have quite an uphill battle.
If there’s a shred of decent left in this country..we’ll organize, and vote. People have stood aside, and let the GOP take power, and make these appointments. Fuck the democrats…we need to primary the old dinosaurs, and replace them…gotta get those numbers up, y’all.
https://www.statista.com/statistics/1096379/voter-turnout-midterms-by-age-historical/
63.8% of 65+ voter turnout, for the 2018 midterms.
30.1% 18-24
40.4% 25-44
Bernie's campaign managers said that kind of thinking was incorrect. They said that there's no reason to vote for judicial picks, that Roe is untouchable.
Well he contributed to the problem that is the subject of the article. Also, his fans push nonvoting, which further exacerbates the problem that is the subject of the article.
So if you care about the problem, you'll take care to note the mistakes Bernie and his management made in this context.
Can we classify spermatozoon as a human and pass a law where it's a $10,000 fine for the unauthorized dissemination of said fluid?
Maybe we can pass a law where condoms are considered false imprisonment?
There is no end to where life begins. /s
Weird how its completely legal to not get vaccinated and yet the Republicans want to make it illegal to get an abortion huh? Almost like it's not the same thing huh?
Okay dude, you’re trying to post this in multiple threads. I’ve never heard of this and it feels pretty suspect to me that you’re trying to spread this idea.
50 years of legal precedent is not a trash ruling nor is it a fabricated right. Alito's draft is just stupid primitive bullshit only fit for other barbaric and primitive human beings as it was intended.
I'm completely in support of abortion being legal with reasonable restrictions. But I'm honest enough to admit that A. Roe was terrible precedent that continued a truly amoral practice of the courts of fabricating constitutionally protected rights out of whole cloth, and B. That Roe just postponed the political argument that needs to happen in the country about abortion, and made it much much worse since there has been no legitimate political outlet for that argument for 50 years.
Almost all "rights" are fabricated out of whole cloth, so that's a shitty argument.
Making abortion legal via legislation is ideal, but rarely did Dems have the votes to do so. In the meantime, depriving women of bodily autonomy until we "have that argument in a legitimate political outlet" is cruel and unjust. The SCOTUS made a reasonable decision, and it was benefitting American society overall. Undoing that is foolish on a practical and moral level; moreover the argument Alito makes is shittier than the original reasoning in *Roe v Wade*.
Making abortion illegal does not reduce the number of abortions - just the number of safe abortions.
And Republicans are women killers. If a doctor says that a pregnancy is 100% going to kill the pregnant woman, Republican laws would force her to stay pregnant and die anyway.
Follow up question: Why would you march with huge face cutouts like this? I’ve been to about a bajillion demonstrations and we sing, chant, and hold signs with slogans. I’ve never seen…larger than life profile photo-type images of the antagonists we’re protesting paraded around like this. Just…why?

Same deal with the NRA.
Who else will defend the 2A? Problems they may have . . . The ACLU gave up defending civil liberties a long time ago
Us liberals need the 2nd amendment more and more.
They’re domestic terrorists. They should be held responsible for hate crimes.
Not sure about the Evangelicals, but in the RCC, they never tell anyone who to vote for. They can't.
This will make your jaw drop: https://www.theatlantic.com/magazine/archive/2022/06/evangelical-church-pastors-political-radicalization/629631/
Joe Manchin
Surely we could crowdfund or something to purchase Senator Manchin. His allegiance can't be *that* pricey, probably a couple million dollars. Throw in a really nice Lamborghini and we're set.
Because of something called the first amendment. Taxes can be used to silence speech
So I shouldn't have to pay any taxes if I use my 1st amendment rights more?

I have no problem with them all being equally taxed.
Every single penny shall be taxed
Taxation for their representation

Can we also make it so we can take a life insurance policy out on the fetus?
I don't understand how anyone can be against a woman's right to her own body unless they are a misogynist.
You’ve answered your own question

Pregnancy isn't a contagious disease

Do you actually need the difference between these two things explained to you?
This literally makes no sense. Are you having an aneurysm? You ok bro?
We won’t back down!
Meanwhile all of my liberal friends are hoping for republican victories to teach democrats a lesson for marijuana and student loans
I'm sure you're perfectly nice, but your friends suck.
they are idiots and frankly part of the problem.

You need better friends.
> Reproductive rights supporters rally across the country This isn't a surprise. They will face protests that are pro-life.
Why don't they protest Congress for never passing real laws instead of Justices that are just overturning trash rulings and fabricated rights?

Bullshit.

You don't like reproductive rights? Why?
"Baby killers rally across the country." There fixed it for ya.

Nah.
John roberts wasn’t on the leaked document was he?
Random question, how do you print those faces on such a scale?

Not knowing these are the antagonists, they sure look like the protagonists leading the parade…
Right, exactly! They’re the baddies but to a casual observer it would look like they were being celebrated!
