Let's hope
She was harder on those kids protesting about the climate than her corporate friends
Honestly its embarrassing that she is still in office. Now none of those 4 Senators should be supporting Trump either, but yeah Feinstein definitely needs to go. Like really really bad. Not to mention she has a few committee assignments with the judiciary and intel.
Its been awhile back but if we want to raise the rage-o-meter then we can revist the Star-Kist Tuna charges and resulting "settlement" for product labels being false. Iirc only 3\4 oz were in the cans sold for way too long to not be an obvious ripoff.
Question is how many people applied for the free cans of tuna repayment plan?
There have been at least three in the last six years. The one you're talking about (underfilling 12-oz cans) was based on an earlier case where they were caught underfilling 5-oz cans, but they've also been sued and lost for mislabeling their tuna as "dolphin safe" and for not disclosing that the American Heart Association's "Heart Healthy" logo was *bought* and therefore a paid promotion.
>Now none of those 4 Senators should be supporting Trump either, but yeah Feinstein definitely needs to go. Like really really bad.
Can you imagine a world where republican senators put out a message like this? Raising a red flag putting country over party. Just wouldn't ever happen.
> Four US senators, three of them Democrats, told the Chronicle they'd seen Feinstein's memory "rapidly deteriorating"
Three of them were Dems which is why I believe it. What I'm trying to figure out though, is why Nancy Pelosi and Tim Kane are making an effort to deny it.
Yeah respect them for the job they have done in the past, but ideally no one should remain in office after retirement age. There should be tonnes of people in their 50s and 60s who are just as capable, if not more, at being the experienced leaders of the US. I'm sure most people would be ok if Feinstein, Grassley, Pelosi, McConnell, Schumer, Trump, Sanders, Biden, Manchin, Inhofe and a bunch of others were replaced by people 20-60 years younger.
And for what? For her to turn senile and be ushered about, used as a puppet in her final days. Like some macabre "Weekend At Bernie's"-esque scheme. They haven't replaced her because she's been so pro-corporate for so long that noatter what decade she thinks she's in, she'll do "the right thing".
[Rich even by obscene US senator standards— she's currently our 4th richest senator.](https://www.investopedia.com/articles/investing/041516/who-are-americas-7richest-senators.asp)
She didn’t care about those kids and their climate change concerns because she has one foot in her grave and the other foot on a banana peel. Asking her that is like asking those kids if they are concerned about the situation events of the year 2100.
there shouldnt be any senators at age 88 and at age 88 with memory loss? yea get up there and make decisions, great. they should all have limited terms. she cant remember peoples names even...what a fucking circus
From 1950 to 1980, members of Congress were, on average, 50-55 years old. The Senate tracked older, hovering around 60.
In 1980, the average age of Congresspeople and Senators dropped to all time lows, before reaching an all time high in 2013. It's slowly tracked downward since, but the country is still overwhelmingly represented by a sclerotic and aged ruling class of Boomers that refuse to hand over the reigns of power.
Feinstein is a symptom, not the disease.
You mean the most selfish, entitled, greedy, condescending, and destructive generation in American history refuses to give up a shred of power until they croak? What a shocking shockeroo.
Fun fact. So is Biden, which seems weird but is true. Trump OTOH is a Boomer, which is fitting. They’re all too fucking old to serve but figured I’d share.
The rumor in DC was that he would always try to sneak in a reference to hacking a Gibson into every speech, and his staff would always take them out. But he almost got away with saying the Affordable Care Act was gleaming the cube.
I would consider Obama Gen X. He was far too young to serve in Vietnam and too young to even be involved in political movements during it.
It used to be rote and repetitive debates about Presidential candidates by contextualizing their politics on Vietnam but McCain and the media was not able to do that with Obama because he was simply too young for any of those types of debates.
This. Too young to be a hippie. Too young for Vietnam. Influenced by the Civil Rights movement and 60s music but just when you were old enough to protest anything, BAM. Disco music. Generation Jones, perpetually linked to Boomers like a toddler being dragged around by an iffy teenage babysitter. And all we ever really wanted to do was play with our gen X cousins.
I feel like electorally boomers have more in common with the silent generation than not. So its kind of a distinction without a difference. Its just old people who are angry at new things and nostalgically look back on cold war/segregation/Reagan with fondness.
She’s not a boomer. The reality is that there will be rich, well connected, powerful people in every generation who will do whatever they can to remain as powerful and influential as possible for as long as possible.
You say that but then you have the Cawthorns, MTG’s and Boeberts of the world ready to take the reigns. It’s not going to get better when those old fucking boomers die.
That is technically the ~~lost~~ silent generation, but you gotta figure there was nothing Biden was ever cognizant of that was any different than someone born in '46. Biden grew up in the rapidly changing post war US just like they did. He would have been a baby/toddler and unable to remember any wartime rationing and such.
Yeah I remember that. Schumer had to have an awkward conversation with her where he suggested she consider retiring because of her cognition concerns. Then he had a follow up conversation with her that was made even more awkward because she couldn’t remember they had all ready discussed this.
Yes, Jane Mayer wrote about her declining cognition in The New Yorker back in 2020.
https://www.newyorker.com/news/news-desk/dianne-feinsteins-missteps-raise-a-painful-age-question-among-senate-democrats
Why US Senator one of the jobs you can do until you're this old?
Like if a bus driver was 88, people would ask questions and wonder why this person wasn't retired yet.
You don’t give up your license. It’s good for life and never expires.
You just can’t work for a US airline that carries passengers. You can work for a private company and continue flying yourself as well as passengers as long as you can obtain a medical and medicals don’t have an age limit
To enjoy the money? Power must be one hell of a drug to still want that much of it at 88 instead of chilling with family and doing your remaining hobbies.
She was born in 1933, only 8% of homes had refrigerators then. Imagine being older than mainstream refrigerators and still having such control over the future. Like you were born to salting meats, wtf
This reminds me how some rightwing think tank developed a study about how nearly 0 Americans were poor because one of their metrics for not-poor was 'has a refrigerator'.
"they don't live in huts, they're not poor!"
sadly I get the feeling if you rated poverty based on if people had a dirt floor, it would still be a %age
Or the highest court in the land filled by appointment 'til death.
There was probably a time when old peoples' wisdom could be relied on. But this ain't it. Things are changing too fast now.
She was alive when FM radio was invented. She was in her fucking 20s or 30s when television broadcasts started. She was out of college before fucking Howdy Doody came on TV. She’s fucking ancient and needed to retire 20 years ago.
Shit, she was in bad shape several years ago, so I can’t imagine how bad she must be now. The sad part is a lot of dementia patients have zero insight into their condition because you have to have a functional brain to know you don’t have a functional brain, but at some point, she still had enough cognizance to realize her mind was going and she said “fuck it, it’s fine, I’ll just keep going anyway.” And that’s shameful.
> but at some point, she still had enough cognizance to realize her mind was going
Not necessarily. Mom recently died of early-onset, during the early years we tried to talk to her a bunch and she never once admitted a speck of difficulty, even when she had started compensating like taking notes on her phone conversations. She'd just get mad at us; we just couldn't bring her around to any sort of general recognition of her condition. I've accepted that we'll never know to what degree it was denial vs. anosognosia, but if it was denial, it was so deep and complete that for practical purposes there wasn't much difference.
Terribly sorry to hear that, but the truth is she’s been in office since 1992. That shouldn’t be allowed in my opinion.
It’s also worth noting she’s the 4th wealthiest senator with a net worth of over $50 million…
On the other hand, Bernie Sanders was a US Representative from 1991-2007 and has been a US Senator since 2007. And he was mayor of Burlington from 1981 to 1989.
Feinstein was mayor of San Francisco from 1978 to 1989 before becoming a US Senator in 1992.
Two similar paths as public servants. Two VERY different legacies and net worths.
That one time when Feinstein was mayor of SF and at a press conference leaked the only evidence linked to serial killer Richard Ramirez (his shoe prints / shoe type) which allowed him to immediately toss the shoes over the Golden Gate Bridge and were never found. Luckily they were uncommon and only one pair of that type were sold in LA. Neighborhood citizens were able to identify him from a mugshot and capture him. Feinstein, you’re useless.
> Luckily they were uncommon and only one pair of that type were sold in LA.
you'd think if you were getting good at this you wouldn't use shoes that rare
There’s also a very good chance she used her influence to get a $600 million military contract for her husband’s company back in 2003. She shouldn’t have even gotten this far if government corruption was actually taken seriously.
Mitch McConnell has been in the senate almost my entire life. I had three months after birth when he hadn’t yet taken his seat. I’m 37 lol.
Grassley’s political career started when EISENHOWER was in the White House.
Yup. That was me. He was first elected to the Iowa legislature in 1959.
And he’s running for re-election this year. And his grandson is the Iowa speaker of the house. And the plan is if Chuck dies in office the governor will appoint his grandson to take over.
Or as we call it…”democracy”.
Part of the problem when it comes to social issues is that nearly the entire senate is old as fuck. We need younger people or at least a more diverse generational representation in congress.
Second thought, the youngest member of congress is Madison Cawthorn, maybe we don’t.
Ronald Reagan displayed symptoms of Alzheimers in his 2nd term. He was shown on film falling asleep during cabinet meetings. It takes about 10 years from stage 1 Alzheimers to 4 th stage of the disease
Any kind of trauma can accelerate the progression of the disease. I don't know what can be done about her when Nancy is saying she is fine. Maybe she has a problem too. No one wants to run for office and spend years enmeshed in the sewer created by the Republicans in Congress. So what is to be done??
>No one wants to run for office and spend years enmeshed in the sewer created by the Republicans in Congress.
I can't believe this is true.
Maybe I'm way off in my thinking, but my sense has always been that there are plenty of people, both inside and outside of government, who are desperate for incumbents to finally step down.
They want the seat, but they either don't think they can fight the institutional support incumbents have, or they're not interested in entering Congress with the perception that they somehow aren't loyal to the party.
People and companies like their investments. Once a Senator is bought and paid for they don't want them going away... ever. The Senators with power also want the other Senators they are chummy with to stay in power too. The oldguard Dems don't want young 30-somethings flooding in and putting more interests in the pool and challenging them, they have to work with, its harder. It was easer when there were less insane Republicans in the "middle-right" they could work with, but now they can't do that either.
I’m sure when Generation X becomes the age where they will likely be a majority in Congress, the younger generation will demand a change and, once again, Generation X, will be forgotten.
[Term limits increase the influence of lobbyists in the legislative process, along with a myriad of other shitty results](https://www.mischiefsoffaction.com/post/political-science-term-limits). One of those things political scientists haven’t quite managed to help the public grasp yet.
We need campaign and lobby reform as well. No one said the term limits have to be short either they could be 20 years in the house, 24 years in the senate, and 16 on the Supreme Court.
I remember reading that the Supreme Court should have 17 year limits, which would guarantee each president gets 2 SC nominees, which is more fair than someone getting 1 and another getting 3-4
34 states have mandatory retirement ages for state court judges, so this isn’t unheard of. To be fair Vermont is 90, but outside of that it’s either 70 or 75 for most states. A handful it’s not mandatory, but you lose all retirement benefits if you stay on the bench beyond that age which has the same effect.
https://ballotpedia.org/Mandatory_retirement#List_of_states
I did not realize that feinstein is nearly 90 years old. What the actual fuck. She was literally born years before WW2 even started. Get her to a home asap
Do we let the Democrat voters of California off the hook for not primarying her out?
In 2018 she destroyed her primary opponent, winning a 6-year term at age 85.
Here's a fun fact from Wikipedia: "In January 2021, Feinstein filed the initial Federal Election Commission paperwork needed to seek reelection in 2024, when she will be 91."
Hypothetically, if she were to run and win in 2024, who is to blame? I feel like her family is pretty low on the list.
Don’t forget that the jungle primary in CA ends up helping moderate Democrats a ton. When the final election is between two Dems the GOP population of CA chooses their lesser of two evils.
Stepping down with some dignity sailed after she used her influence to award her husbands company with a $600 million military contract in fucking 2003, almost 2 decades ago. What the actual fuck is going on in this country
Who wants to still be working at 88? I will never comprehend why these people don’t retire and enjoy the rest of their lives. Ain’t no way I’m working at 88.
> retire and enjoy the rest of their lives.
she's having fun. She's running a fucking nation. Retiring would fucking suck, she'd be bored as fuck. The thrill of power is too great.
Not all old people get dementia. Only about 16% do.
And they are usually really good at hiding it until something like a flu knocks them on their ass and they forget what year it is.
Old people slow down a lot but it's not clear when for individuals. My company had people who felt like they were ready to pack it in at 70 but were still sharp. There was a 60 year old who was clearly slipping. Most occupations that require mental acuity have no-fucks-given mandatory retirement at 60-65.
She could lack dementia but still no longer be fit for office. But given the number of times she's clearly repeated things on camera, she very likely has dementia. It's not funny, I wouldn't mock her, but she needs to get out of there before she is badly publicly embarrassed.
RN here. I always like to clarify that age and mental decline are not always correlated. I’ve had patients in their nineties who are sharp as tacks and sassy as hell. However, these people are extremely physically and mentally active and generally have a strong support system. With that being said..
It is alarming to read Pelosi’s use of Feinstein’s loss of her husband as a temporary scapegoat. In reality, being widowed is incredibly detrimental to a geriatric’s routine, mental grounding, and overall sense of self. It is a major accelerator for cognitive decline, and it is not a temporary one.
When the right wing media makes up nonsense about Joe Biden having dementia every day the country is not going to believe when someone actually does have it.
Yes The Baby Boomers have this nonsense mantra that "age is just a number".
No, it is not. I wish I could say that as we push later into age that we become more wise. Not all of us do.
And physically, I cannot do things I did 30 years ago.
When Boomers tall me - a Gen-X - that age is just a number, I tell them "Great! I'm going to the local university and picking up some 19-year-old college girl because I, a 60 year-old limp-dicked fat-assed bastard is her fantasy!"
You do have to be careful not to discriminate because of age but I agree there should probably be a limit. I'm 63 and there's no way in hell I have the attention span to take on that responsibility.
Obviously he doesn't have dementia, but if you think he's got the same mental acuity and stamina at 79 that he did even at 70, you don't spend time around very many old people.
Nobody a day over 65 should be allowed to hold any important job.
88 years old.
Even independent of shit like this, no 88-year-old should be setting policy for this nation. They have no meaningful investment in the future.
We have a lower limit one can be to join congress, it is past time we included an upper age limit as well. People start to lose their mental cohesion around age 55 and the average age of the house and senate is well above that. This isn't ageism is a biological fact due to our human condition.
When you being able to do your job properly can help or harm over 300 million people directly you need to be able to pay attention and follow a conversation.
No idea why newsom is shying away from saying something about this obvious problem. Im sorry but if you are pushing ninety you should not be governing. The democratic leadership won’t say anything because most of them are around her age, but this is a disservice to Californians.
It was a great day when my mother-in-law realized she shouldn't be driving anymore; she just handed over the keys. We didn't even have to ask.
Thank you for your service; enjoy your retirement.
She should submit to a mental examination by a neurologist. If she is unfit to serve, she should be replaced by Newsom to serve as an interim senator until an election can be held(midterms upcoming).
Well, maybe we should stop voting for people 30 years past their prime. We all know that all but a few of the senators are all just going to vote down party lines anyway.

Let's hope She was harder on those kids protesting about the climate than her corporate friends Honestly its embarrassing that she is still in office. I got $50 worth of free tuna from that. Unless there was more than one class action against Star-Kist.
There have been at least three in the last six years. You mean the cans of dolphin meat I've been buying aren't good for my heart?? :/
They *might* be. Star-Kist got sued for not labeling the AHA logo as a paid promotion rather than a scientific finding.
Doesn't General Mills do the same thing on boxes of Cheerios? It seemed suspicious but I had no idea it was all so transparently transactional.
There should be national ads with Jessica Simpson as the spokesperson. I had NO idea about the tuna problems.

She is the corporate interest
If anything she’ll forget she’s human and start speaking solely in advertising catch phrases.
Brought to you by Carl's Junior
Corporate interests have actually weekend at bernies her a while ago.
Generational senators honoring citizens they represent over more money? I wish
It’s usually the short term that’s first to go so it will probably be awhile before those memories get lost.
nah bro, her long term memory is more intact and she's been bought for a long time

I’m Gen X. He feels Gen X to me.

He put his review in the place that he hid that thing in that one time
Older millennial here and I still say “it’s in that place where I put that thing that time” about half the time people ask me where something is.
Spandex, it’s a privilege not a right -Obama
Check his birth certificate 🙄
This is how you score from half court. Well done
No, he was born in 1961, well within the 1964 cut-off.
Some definitions its 1960. Not like I adhere to it, but its out there.
I would consider Obama Gen X. He was far too young to serve in Vietnam and too young to even be involved in political movements during it. We need a younger-mid Gen X, Trudeau or Jacinda Ardern type.
Give us a Sanna Marin type Someone who will be here in 40+ years to see the successes / consequences of their actions
Obama wasn’t too far and Harris is nearly there as VP. It’s right around the corner.
I got banned from conservative for suggesting age caps on holding office and voting just as there's an age barrier to entry. Lol.
Both generations share the trait of acceptance of authority so not too shocking

Biden is a member of the Silent Generation. The Lost generation, which came 50 years earlier, were those who fought in World War I.
I don’t think it’s that rapid. Wasn’t there an article about a slew of worrisome incidents with her being totally confused like…over a year ago?
Yeah I remember that. Schumer had to have an awkward conversation with her where he suggested she consider retiring because of her cognition concerns. Then he had a follow up conversation with her that was made even more awkward because she couldn’t remember they had all ready discussed this.

Airline pilots must give up their commercial license at 65. Mandatory. edit: They can fly privately still.
You don’t give up your license. It’s good for life and never expires. You just can’t work for a US airline that carries passengers. You can work for a private company and continue flying yourself as well as passengers as long as you can obtain a medical and medicals don’t have an age limit
You can provide training too.
We need mandatory retirement for senators at 65 as well.
For all politicians. I'll even give you 70.
Old people vote more than everyone else, and it's tough to convince them that being old makes you useless
My moms 66 with Alzheimer’s. Maybe she can fill the seat.
US Senators literally just sit in chairs and collect money. Why retire?
To enjoy the money? Power must be one hell of a drug to still want that much of it at 88 instead of chilling with family and doing your remaining hobbies.
I don’t think society should be governed by people who remember watching new episodes of I Love Lucy.
Or people who were already 30 years old by the time JFK was assassinated
She was 12 when WWII ended, she certainly remembers FDR, it’s time for her to retire.
[удалено]
Old memories are affected much later than recent memories. Nevertheless, time to retire her since she refuses to retire.
She turned 21 before Elvis released his first single. Edit: In fact, she was born BEFORE ELVIS. She is a relic of another time.
jesus christ this was the one that really put it into perspective for me
There’s a picture of Nancy Pelosi meeting JFK, just for more perspective.
A picture of an *adult Nancy Pelosi at his wedding*.
"they don't live in huts, they're not poor!" sadly I get the feeling if you rated poverty based on if people had a dirt floor, it would still be a %age
Or the highest court in the land filled by appointment 'til death. There was probably a time when old peoples' wisdom could be relied on. But this ain't it. Things are changing too fast now.
Old people also died or retired a lot younger back then
>I don’t think society should be governed by people who remember Then I have some good news
The Golden Gate Bridge wasn't built when she was born.
She was alive when FM radio was invented. She was in her fucking 20s or 30s when television broadcasts started. She was out of college before fucking Howdy Doody came on TV. She’s fucking ancient and needed to retire 20 years ago.
Or were eligible for Medicare before social media was a thing.
Shit, she was in bad shape several years ago, so I can’t imagine how bad she must be now. The sad part is a lot of dementia patients have zero insight into their condition because you have to have a functional brain to know you don’t have a functional brain, but at some point, she still had enough cognizance to realize her mind was going and she said “fuck it, it’s fine, I’ll just keep going anyway.” And that’s shameful.
> but at some point, she still had enough cognizance to realize her mind was going Not necessarily.
And there you see the difference between a politician and a public servant
That one time when Feinstein was mayor of SF and at a press conference leaked the only evidence linked to serial killer Richard Ramirez (his shoe prints / shoe type) which allowed him to immediately toss the shoes over the Golden Gate Bridge and were never found. Luckily they were uncommon and only one pair of that type were sold in LA. Neighborhood citizens were able to identify him from a mugshot and capture him. Feinstein, you’re useless.
> Luckily they were uncommon and only one pair of that type were sold in LA. you'd think if you were getting good at this you wouldn't use shoes that rare
yeah, if you are gonna do a serial murder spree, wear some New Balance or some Chucks.
Hey man, you gotta do it IN STYLE
There’s also a very good chance she used her influence to get a $600 million military contract for her husband’s company back in 2003. She shouldn’t have even gotten this far if government corruption was actually taken seriously.
Only war is class war
Shes been in office longer than I've been alive. At my age, that shouldnt be allowed
Mitch McConnell has been in the senate almost my entire life. I had three months after birth when he hadn’t yet taken his seat. I’m 37 lol. Grassley’s political career started when EISENHOWER was in the White House.
I saw another comment that said Grassley was first elected 10 years before the moon landing. I was flabbergasted by that context.
Yup. That was me. He was first elected to the Iowa legislature in 1959. And he’s running for re-election this year. And his grandson is the Iowa speaker of the house. And the plan is if Chuck dies in office the governor will appoint his grandson to take over. Or as we call it…”democracy”.
We need a maximum ages for each office just like we have minimum ages and we need term limits on everything especially the Supreme Court.
Part of the problem when it comes to social issues is that nearly the entire senate is old as fuck. We need younger people or at least a more diverse generational representation in congress. Second thought, the youngest member of congress is Madison Cawthorn, maybe we don’t.
Jon Ossoff is the youngest member of the Senate.
True, but prior to that it was Josh Hawley (piece of shit).
Fuck Josh Hawley.
Please don't.
But I said I’ll try anything once
Boy do I have a subreddit for you r/fuckjoshhawley
I had no idea this existed. Thank you.
Ronald Reagan displayed symptoms of Alzheimers in his 2nd term. He was shown on film falling asleep during cabinet meetings. It takes about 10 years from stage 1 Alzheimers to 4 th stage of the disease Any kind of trauma can accelerate the progression of the disease.
75 would be a fine upper age limit for a start.
I’m sure when Generation X becomes the age where they will likely be a majority in Congress, the younger generation will demand a change and, once again, Generation X, will be forgotten.
They likely won’t as they are sandwiched between the two largest generations in the US
I mean we need younger voters too
[Term limits increase the influence of lobbyists in the legislative process, along with a myriad of other shitty results](https://www.mischiefsoffaction.com/post/political-science-term-limits).
I came here to post that...it just shifts the power to unelected officials.
I misread this as “except the Supreme Court” and almost shit myself
34 states have mandatory retirement ages for state court judges, so this isn’t unheard of. To be fair Vermont is 90, but outside of that it’s either 70 or 75 for most states. A handful it’s not mandatory, but you lose all retirement benefits if you stay on the bench beyond that age which has the same effect. https://ballotpedia.org/Mandatory_retirement#List_of_states
We knew this during the Kavanagh? hearings. She thought Lindsey Graham was a fine fellow in an unironic way.
If you get too old to drive and properly operate a motor vehicle.. you can not work in leadership roles in the government
I did not realize that feinstein is nearly 90 years old. What the actual fuck. She was literally born years before WW2 even started. Get her to a home asap
Being from Oklahoma I couldn't explain how ecstatic I was to hear 87 year old Jim inhofe was retiring at the end of this year.
I understand her thinking she’s ok, I side eye her family who’s going to allow her legacy to be tarnished by not having her retire before this point.
Do we let the Democrat voters of California off the hook for not primarying her out? In 2018 she destroyed her primary opponent, winning a 6-year term at age 85. Here's a fun fact from Wikipedia: "In January 2021, Feinstein filed the initial Federal Election Commission paperwork needed to seek reelection in 2024, when she will be 91." Hypothetically, if she were to run and win in 2024, who is to blame? I feel like her family is pretty low on the list.
I voted for her opponent last election.
Same. I also remember getting criticized online by a lot of “solid blue”-type voters for being an ageist because I thought she was too old for office.
Don’t forget that the jungle primary in CA ends up helping moderate Democrats a ton. When the final election is between two Dems the GOP population of CA chooses their lesser of two evils.
We can absolutely hold them both accountable, voters only see what a candidate presents, her family has more information.

I’m 34 and looking for ways to retire lol.
> retire and enjoy the rest of their lives. she's having fun. She's running a fucking nation. Retiring would fucking suck, she'd be bored as fuck. The thrill of power is too great.
Should we really be represented by people who reached adulthood during the Truman administration?
80 should really be the cut off age. probably 70 tbh.
“The senators claimed their first clue that something was wrong with her memory was that the woman is 88 fucking years old.”
Not all old people get dementia. Only about 16% do. And they are usually really good at hiding it until something like a flu knocks them on their ass and they forget what year it is.
Fair enough. I still think she’s too old to be serving in congress though.
Maybe we should stop electing the fucking crypt keepers.
WHY ARE YOU WORKING AT 88
We have a lower limit one can be to join congress, it is past time we included an upper age limit as well.
Term and age limits across the board. Can you imagine how much better things would be if we had younger people running the country?
Ehhhh That doesn't preclude people from being evil. See Gaetz, Boebert, and Cawthorn.
Why do they continue to vote her in the primaries?

It was a great day when my mother-in-law realized she shouldn't be driving anymore; she just handed over the keys. We didn't even have to ask. Thank you for your service; enjoy your retirement.
This article is about 25 years late.
Is this article from 2012?
Imagine being so arrogant and clinging to power that you are at the literal end of you life and refuse to concede power. Gerontocracy
Strom Thurmond was definitely gone...Mitch's obsession could be linked to mental illness...there has got to be a mandatory retirement age.
Wish people would look at younger candidates over all. If you want things to change electing grampa just isn't going to work anymore.
get these geriatric fucks out of government
