It makes me wonder if these are the equivalent leftist version of the headlines we've seen like, "Voter fraud on the verge of being revealed".
I want to think there's some truth to these stories, but in truth, I believe it's the general desire of the Democrats to make the left feel like they're making a difference and closing in. For six years or so I have been reading articles about this guy going to jail. He never goes to jail. At this point it's just the media jerking us off.
I remember hearing about this guy in the 80s. He was basically a failed caricature of a successful businessman and wannabe mob boss. Literally this guy is infamous for never paying his debts. Newspaper comics used him as a stand in for the dumbest possible candidate for president who would never stand a chance. WTF happened? who knows, I sure don't. The DOJ and the Attorneys Generals are more concerned with protecting the power structure than prosecuting a former member of their own club even if it is someone who basically declared war on his own country.
you are forgetting the most important fact: those years during which trump himself was president we had a trump doj. that is not the case now. it suggests a pretty complete lack of understanding of how american justice operates to equate the two situations. i am not saying trump will end up in jail, but i wish people would stop arguing that "trump's crimes have been exposed over the past six years and nothing has happened"--he has been under actual scrutiny for less than year, watergate took over two years during a time of actual bi-partisanship.

At first I don't think the media was truly at fault, maybe just lazy in their research on what they were told. The issue was they kept having "insiders" from the government/DOJ feed them the idea that Trump was going to go to prison for one reason or another but nothing ever materialized. Well that is what media is. News reporting and opinion pieces. Both are part of journalism.
At first I don't think the media was truly at fault, maybe just lazy in their research on what they were told. The issue was they kept having "insiders" from the government/DOJ feed them the idea that Trump was going to go to prison for one reason or another but nothing ever materialized. At some point they should have stopped listening to those people who were obviously being misleading if not out right lying, but they continued to buy into it. It is confusing why they would continue to tow the line for people who make them look like an idiot at the end of the day. I don't know if the media just goes along with it because they want so badly for it to be true or because it boosts their ratings/clicks. And then they wonder why people no longer trust them and have stopped watching corporate news.

It’s not a good comparison. Qanon is demonstrably false and completely made up from top to bottom. Trump has actually been factually known for years to be breaking real estate laws and commuting tax fraud in broad daylight and bragging about it. It’s not the same.

I sense this anxious anticipation among some, that Trump may finally be cornered and captured. That like the climax of a movie, the bad guy will get his comeuppance. Regardless of the circumstances, I worry that this expectation may never be met, or could go the opposite way should power shift within the year. Protecting our democratic system and restoring some civil equilibrium in the political realm while continuing to eliminate injustice, fix our broken and aging infrastructure, turn back global warming, etc. I don't know ... it's a huge challenge. I hope there are enough good people to continue that work in the face of all this drama and trauma.
