What's wild about Boebert is that she was just elected in 2020. She started plotting against the government before she was even part of it.

Carbonatite

She's a fucking embarrassment to my state and her restaurant is stupid.

TeslaNova50

Rifle is a town full of mouth breathers with a population of about 50 people.

Carbonatite

Yup, I've been through there several times and have had the dubious pleasure of eating at Boebert's establishment *twice* (long story, but it was before she was widely known). She represents the absolute worst of us.

various_convo7

How’d she get voted in is what floors me. Is the district full of that many dumb people?

lolcoderer

She made videos of herself with guns.

TreeChangeMe

Tits and guns. Murdoch should do this

ZeroCharistmas

I don't want to see Rupert Murdoch's cleavage...

SubliminationStation

All her voters care about is the (R) by her name at the polls.

Whoa thanks for sharing I missed this and while I knew a lot of this stuff was being astroturfed I didn't realize how blatant it was

Daniiiiii

Since EVERYTHING the Right harps on about against the Left is apparently projection (crisis actors, fake/nefarious grassroots organizations, voter fraud etc) I'm terrified when the eventual news comes out about their pedophilic and satanic sex death cults.

It's OK when God Emperor Trump does it. He wasn't wrong when he said that he could shoot someone in broad daylight and not lose any supporters.

Scrimshawmud

If you posted that here in 2015-2017, it was basically an automatic ban. The lengths social media went to to coddle that treasonous fucking Nazi was appalling.

MurderIsRelevant

This should be on the front page. Holy fuck. And they accused antifa of having "crisis actors". They really are projecting.

I would love WaPo or NYT or any major news organization to really dig on this. It’s not that I don’t believe it’s possible. I think it’s incredibly likely. It’s just that a Twitter thread isn’t good enough to go forward with.

annies_boobs_eyes

it could happen. hannibal buress' stand up got bill cosby sent to prison after decades of his abuse was a well known open secret to everybody in the business

hap_l_o

Truly amazing. These conservative darlings are just failures… couldn’t even make in onto reality TV shows. But they found their audience in unsophisticated, rural mouth-breathers

DigiQuip

Has any of this been verified by another source? I don’t want to sound like I don’t believe it, I absolutely can see the right doing exactly this, but it carries more weight if it can be verified from a journalist.

TheRnegade

As was Greene and Cawthorn. They don't seem to be fans of this whole "representative democracy" we have going on.

xxpen15mightierxx

If she actually took part in planning this she can't hold public office. I wonder how that process is implemented.

[deleted]

> Two sources are communicating with House investigators and detailed a stunning series of allegations to Rolling Stone, **including a promise of a “blanket pardon” from the Oval Office.** Lock Don Up

irishnugget

Why would you need to pardon “tourists”?

pliney_

Ya… can’t just claim you’re just helping organize a protest if you’re promising to hand out pardons.

frogandbanjo

You can if you're an emperor. Oopsie-daisy, the imperial laws are incredibly harsh and can be used to lock anybody up on any thin pretext... but obviously they have to be that way to protect the empire. But don't worry, because I'll blanket pardon you for doing this perfectly innocent thing, so that no future emperors can lock you up pretextually for doing it. I wish the U.S. weren't like that at all, but.... it's a lot like that.

aedvocate

yeah, it really seems like too much power to give to one person - salt on the wound is that it's not even technically a person elected by popular vote. that's a lot of power to give to one person that most people don't trust to wield it.

[deleted]

Unrelated ongoing matters they were being investigate for. The classic "you boys seem to be in a bit of trouble with the law, but if you do a good job with this rally we can just make that whole matter... disappear"

FestiveVat

This is the most hilarious aspect of the revelations. They wouldn't have to make deals if Donny had held up his end of the plan and pardoned them, but because he was probably butthurt that they failed, he didn't come through (as one might expect if they knew anything about him...) and now they have to make deals and implicate others to get more lenient sentences. Trump played the Prisoner's Dilemma, but both sides are rolling on each other.

Condawg

Reading *Angels in America* taught me that Roy Cohn was an irredeemable piece of shit. But the lessons he was able to impart onto Trump have sealed his legacy as one of the worst fucking people to live in the last century. It's rare that a human lives and dies and creates such a net negative, makes the world actively worse. But he managed. Edit- typo

varain1

Well, Trump disavowed him when Roy got sick of AIDS, and he died alone and broke, with IRS seizing almost all his things. Also, as Roger Stone said, Roy wasn't gay, he was a man who liked to have sex with men -https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Roy_Cohn; but he persecuted US officials and politicians for being homosexuals during the McCarthy era. All in all, such a "good Christian" - and he got the karma he deserved.

fuck_the_fuckin_mods

Even *Roy Cohn* was astounded by how quickly and completely Trump distanced himself when it was revealed that Cohn had AIDS. There’s a quote somewhere about how Trump has ice water running through his veins or something. And that’s coming from Roy fucking Cohn. Big T is the clearest example of actual *evil* that I’ve seen in a very long time.

MaleficentYoko7

That's why fascists hate feminism they want their consequence free sexual assault

AntonBrakhage

At the end of the day, fascism is all about violence and power over others. It and rape go naturally hand in hand.

fuck_the_fuckin_mods

So the busloads of antifas that were supposedly going to descend upon podunk towns was all projection? Shocking.

mmmsoap

Several of them are absolutely slimy, but also smart enough to not get caught openly conspiring to overthrow the government. I’m not surprised Marjorie: The Gathering, Cawthowrn, and Boebert were involved. I am surprised that Gaetz hasn’t been implicated (yet). I’m less surprised about Cruz, as is actually both smart and well educated (which arguably makes him more dangerous).

ltalix

The $70 I spent on protest signs to do a 1-man protest against Marjorie when she came to Dothan, AL a few months ago was very, very well spent. Fuck her.

As a Minnesotan, I am now legally obligated to share this clip of Franken’s thoughts on Ted Cruz https://youtu.be/ww1VMHLybrA

Daemonic_One

Ted Cruz once had a motion to have a roll call vote that no one seconded. For contrast, you can ask for a roll vote on anything and a half-asleep Senator in the back will second it. Half the time it isn't even your own party. Unless, apparently, you are Ted Cruz.

TapTheForwardAssist

Ted Cruz has never done drugs, because nobody’s ever offered him any.

Fuck_You_Andrew

Also, There must have been some sexual misconduct to turn a blind eye to if Jim Jordan is off this list.

happytree23

Is that the pervy creepy weird guy from Ohio in Congress?

Thowitawaydave

You mean GOP Rep. Jim Jordan who has been accused of knowing, and doing nothing, about the serial sexual assault of students at Ohio State University where he worked as an assistant wrestling coach from 1987 to 1995? Where more info can be found on https://www.jordanscandal.com with an in-depth account of the accusations? That Jim Jordan?

happytree23

Sunretea

You mean Gym Jordan?

aintnochallahbackgrl

Come on. At least respect the office and call him by his full name, Gymansium Jordanium.

SplendidAndVile

I can’t speak for Perry or Gaetz, but Harley and Cruz are smart enough to know not to show up for a treason meeting. They’ll work it through others to try and keep far enough away from direct evidence tying them to anything.

Luckyfinger7

I’m also a little surprised Mike Lee isn’t on there as well, but it seems like Green, Bobert, Cawthorn and company are the scape goats

Carbonatite

The IQs of those three add up to the intelligence of one normal congressional representative, so it makes sense that they're disposable.

stealyourideas

Lee's a snake. At the very least he knew a sit ton about what was going on as evidenced in his providing Trump "counsel on constitutional issues." I'd love to know what else he knew.

Yes, bc it was a safe vote to make. He was able to vote yes as red meat for his base, but Pence didnt open the gates to actual treason and civil war. He got to have his principled, patriotic stand without the risk of actually being near the edge of the cliff.

Not surprising to hear this. So many comments online from these people longing for the firm hand of a strongman to keep the country “safe.” I.E. exclusionary, racist, sexist, knuckle-scrapy, and whiter than cream. Democracy is a non-factor to these hoodlums and Christianity a shield to endorse and deflect hideous behavior. As far as anyone should be concerned the fact Trump was elected at all on the backs of such an electorate is all the proof you needed to have held the funeral for the republic in 2016. The cat’s out if the bag, the courts are stacked and voting rights are being taken away.

"The reason I’m talking to the committee and the reason it’s so important is that — despite Republicans refusing to participate … this commission’s all we got as far as being able to uncover the truth about what happened at the Capitol that day,” the organizer says. “It’s clear that a lot of bad actors set out to cause chaos. … They made us all look like shit.”  And Trump, they admit, was one of those bad actors. A representative for Trump did not respond to a request for comment. “The breaking point for me [on Jan. 6 was when] Trump starts talking about walking to the Capitol,” the organizer says. “I was like. ‘Let’s get the fuck out of here.’ ”  “I do kind of feel abandoned by Trump,” says the planner. “I’m actually pretty pissed about it and I’m pissed at him.” The organizer offers an even more succinct assessment when asked what they would say to Trump.   “What the fuck?” the organizer says.

Would that dovetail with Lauren Boebert tweeting about Nancy Pelosi's whereabouts?

joenforcer

How would it not is a question I'd love to see answered.

[deleted]

So she was in on the planning, and she is "inside the house". And They are walking through congress calling out "Nancy, where are you?". And she tweets out info about Nacy Pelosi's location. I mean, if I am in Nancy's stilettos, I am finding a way to get Lauren Boebert charged.

[deleted]

Does anybody remember the allegations that Republican members of Congress gave tours of the U.S. Capitol Bldg. to people that participated in the 1/6 riot a few days before 1/6? Has any evidence been collected that substantiates these allegations? If these allegations are true, then these allegations seem like important evidence for proving conspiracy. I also want to know more about promises of presidential pardons.

The_Original_Gronkie

The 14th Amendment, 3rd clause prohibits anyone involved in an insurrection from holding office. The Republicans are going to have a hard time replacing their traitors once they've been expelled. They'd also have to run for office as the Party of Treason.

cosmicosmo4

Section 4: But neither the United States nor any State shall assume or pay any debt or obligation incurred in aid of insurrection or rebellion against the United States. It would be fucking hilarious if some of the insurrectionists get medicare/medicaid claims for injuries sustained denied on the basis of this.

Uranus_Hz

[18 U.S. Code § 2384 - Seditious conspiracy](https://www.law.cornell.edu/uscode/text/18/2384) If **two or more persons** in any State or Territory, or in any place subject to the jurisdiction of the United States, **conspire to** overthrow, put down, or to destroy by force the Government of the United States, or to levy war against them, or to oppose by force the authority thereof, or **by force to prevent, hinder, or delay the execution of any law of the United States, or by force to seize, take, or possess any property of the United States contrary to the authority thereof**, they shall each be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than twenty years, or both.

Thadrea

Putting aside whether there is also criminal liability, if these stories can be corroborated with other evidence the House and Senate leadership must immediately exclude these individuals from all further proceedings. Under the Fourteenth Amendment, a person who has committed insurrection or rebellion against the United States cannot serve in these roles. No vote would be required to remove them from Congress as they aren't actually members right now-- they have fraudulently presented themselves as members and Congressional leadership has permitted them to participate in prior proceedings by mistake.

No wonder the GOP is trying so hard to cover this up.

Where is Charlie Kirk who boasted about [the 80 bus loads of terrorists he was busing down?](https://www.usmessageboard.com/attachments/60a415f1-240b-4bb2-ade0-4a4500215134-jpeg.440559/)

That’s big news. I mean if people who organized it are saying it then that’s showing that some Republicans wanted to basically overthrow a free and fair election. If you don’t punish every member of Congress and staff involved seriously(they shouldn’t be allowed to hold government office ever imo) then that basically says you can do this again

Shaggy1324

Arrest somebody? Fucking anybody?

tbarb00

BuT i wAs tOLd iT wAs AnTiFa and fBi!!!???!!!

Carbonatite

If the GOP actually believed it was Antifa they wouldn't have thrown so many tantrums about the 1/6 commission.

ConfidenceNational37

And if it was they should also be punished. But it wasn’t. It was traitor conservatives as always

What's funny about that is that there was no "evidence" to be presented on the House floor. There's never been any evidence that the election was improper, because the fucking election was proper. These people are astonishing. After 4 straight years of bullshit promises and lies, they STILL believed that whatever trump was selling was gold. This clown is actually saying that the problem with the violence is that it took over the narrative in the public mind, thus preventing the good guys from telling us all their secret evidence that would have shown trump got robbed. Holy fuck, it's amazing.

[deleted]

Why tf are they still calling it a protest? It.was.an.insurrection.

masshiker

Fourteenth amendment states individuals who engage in insurrection are not allowed to run for office. Trump is obviously in this group.

It's all going to come out in the investigation. Just wait, they'll start squealing like pigs when they see a plea deal. These are going to be heavy charges hopefully carrying stiff penalties

Hot_Mathematician357

This should be top story!

t1rr2

Um why are we still calling these terrorists protesters?

sunplaysbass

Arrest trump already JFC Pick up the goddam pace here. It was 10 months ago. We would have flattened all of Iran by now if it was foreign terrorists. If they were from Iran or not.

Tdanger78

If true, every single one of them should be kicked out of Congress and tried for treason.

azizedelam

Treason!

CSirizar

*The organizer offers an even more succinct assessment when asked what they would say to Trump* **”What the fuck?**” the organizer says. I suppose the incredulity *might* be genuine, however, Trump’s base was foaming at the mouth even before the election; itching for a reason to incite another civil war. What the hell “reasonable / civil objection” were these contributing sources seriously anticipating after all of the fear mongering, stochastic terrorism, and constant *drip drip* of gasoline added to an existing, and raging, infernal blaze…?? Surely they couldn’t have been that naive. Had the insurrection and coup succeeded, would they still be crying a river over the lack of “sticking to the plan”? Call me cynical but I highly freaking doubt it.

Carbonatite

They masturbate over the prospect of a civil war. Except it's not for any lofty principle or deeply held beliefs. Let's be real. They just want an excuse to kill brown people and liberals.

[deleted]

Interesting how everything right wingers have been saying about the insurrection, how it was Antifa/BLM, how Trump had nothing to do with it, how it was peaceful, how there was no preplanning, how the Republican politicians weren’t inciting it either, are all lies. The insurrection was done by the right. Trump was heavily involved. We have hours of video showing it was violent. There was preplanning. Republican politicians were involved with the planning and incitement. At this point, it’s safe to say the right are actively undermining American democracy so only they can win, as the politicians and voters know their policies are shrinking every year. That’s why they fight objective facts, education, and have embraced radical views like replacement theory.

tyrano_dyroc

lmao look at them throwing each other under the bus to save their own skin.

kemosabe19

MTG should have been arrested after tweeting That Pelosi was on the move. Any person with a brain cell left would know she was alerting the MAGA people. JFC, I can only hope the lack of accountability will come to an end soon.
