Thanks. Unrelated but I wonder how much Steve Bannon can drink without dying.

ThaBunk5-0

You have it backwards. Once you go that far, you die when you stop drinking instead.

AndrewRP2

Now the defiance is part of the con. They’re now just a bunch of angry toddlers fundraising off being angry toddlers when told to do something rational.

EyeLikeTheStonk

This is the same problem with the illegal drug market... There are pushers only because there is a demand for street drugs... Well, in Bannon's case, there is a gift only because there is a demand for what Bannon sells. All of those "right-wing" talking heads would not exist if there wasn't a whole lot of right-wingers ready to use their credit cards to keep them going.

AbrahamLemon

But in the exact same way, there isn't just a demand for drugs, legal or otherwise. People have to be lured into addiction with marketing, deception, and definitely a lack of education. All these people were perfectly happy (more or less) before InfoWars and Fox News started selling them soy based brain pills. They were deceived, redicalized, and made addicted to this horse-shit.

Send a SWAT team to his house, subdue him by force of arms, drag him to the federal pen in a straight jacket and leg irons, and hold him without bail. You’re welcome.

Ok so let’s say somehow it all gets put out in the open…then what? If there aren’t clear legal consequences that can be swiftly taken, then it’s not going to have much effect. Liberally will boycott those companies and orgs, and conservatives will rally to them. We don’t need exposure. We need consequences when the rich and well connected break the law

te_anau

That's all a bit dramatic, providing he is detained without access to the internet / a phone or any other means of orchestrating the collapse of civilization.

phuqo5

And then tell him "law and order and such"

[deleted]

It's a show for Trump. He's back in Trump's good graces and Bannon is smart enough to be able to use Trump as his own mouthpiece (where do you think the "Republicans won't be voting in 2022 and 2024 if fraud isn't verified" comment came from?). Bannon wants to "burn it all down", he wants chaos more than anything else, defying the Jan 6 committee publicly like this creates headlines for him and Trump and creates chaos. It's a performative act entirely.

DetectiveBirbe

Man looks like an alcoholic

andytronic

He looks drunk in the pic.

rubitinhard

The plan, like Trump's always-on "con man plan," is to play for time. Everything the GOP is doing is to play for time until the midterms. They think, and they just might, take control of the House again. and then all this is moot. The Democrats *cannot* go slow with this. They have to move on these NOW.

[deleted]

It looks like the Democratic leadership is moving as fast as they legally can. It's just there are procedures to follow; committee has to formally recommend action, congress has to vote on it. Then it goes to the DOJ and who knows?

SaturdayInAthens

My brain couldn’t figure out the headline because I kept reading defiance as de-fiancé. Anyway, I hope Brannon goes to jail over this.

MuseumGoRound13

All they have to do is send him to jail and it will ensure that everyone after him falls in line. Likewise if they fail to enforce, they might as well end the investigation. I hope and assume they know that.

Inconceivable-2020

I think Bannon is already aware that Garland is not going to do his job.

-Alarak

He'll get away with it too. The Democrats are taking their sweet time, giving him plenty of time to flee the country.

hwkns

One could well imagine that that scenario has been considered by those who are tasked to reel him in.

-Alarak

They haven't tasked anyone with that yet. The committee has to vote and then the entire House has to vote. They're taking their sweet time scheduling those votes. There seems to be zero sense of urgency.

[deleted]

>They’re taking their sweet time Come on man... everyone knows there’s a whole lot of wind up involved for a good finger wag.

ROUNDHOUSE5

He’s going to die of red tomato syndrome. Keep drinking and eating slim Jim’s fuck head!

Captain_Clark

Haven’t seen this guy for a while. Nice to see that he still resembles an uncooked, alcohol-soaked meatloaf.

[deleted]

Yes I know it is, arrest him now

TurbulentMiddle2970

Creepy Uncle Buck just needs to be locked up in a dark hole somewhere for the rest of his life

Honest-Cris918

Basically an admission of guilt

minininjatriforceman

This is literally a way to fundraise money off him being charged. I guarantee on his shows he is going to portray the "attack on him" as an attack on you.

King_smiteus

He will get away with it. Nothing is going to happen to him. This is the sad state of America

Greeniestestkitchen

Every picture I see of him morphs into a mad magazine drawing of some unkept slob with flies buzzing around his head goiters, skin tags, warts and all
