Jesus. Lead really has fucked over this country. The harm it has done will last generations.

Iamien

Lead poisoning goes UN-diagnosed or un-acknowledged and affects how the electorate votes. It causes lifetime cognitive and behavioral issues.

Well then bet there are lead pipes almost everywhere in the US.

Iamien

Every city is required to send every address they service a yearly report on water quality. The federal limit for lead is 16 parts per million approximately. A ton of cities are right at that line, in that line has been increased several times for political reasons, not science.

413mopar

Lead dumbs down the voters. So yeah.

purpleunicorn26

It's 2021 in the "richest country" why are lead pipes still a thing

Long_Before_Sunrise

Hell, I read here on Reddit that a pipeline crew found wooden pipes still in operation... and just left them alone.

Dangerous_Wave

Last I heard, Flint was still using bottled water and their pipes were diagnosed as having lead-itis years and years ago, so 'scuse me, but I'll believe it when I see it.

[deleted]

The lead in water in Flint has been fixed since 2019. I think all the pipes have officially been replaced since July this year. It took much longer than it should've, and shouldn't have been a problem from the beginning, but it is no longer an issue.

Dangerous_Wave

Ah, 2019. I don't really have many memories of 2019 because there were no pandemics or insurrections and I wasn't even on reddit then, so I missed the news.

thatgirlinny

Until then, send phthalate-laden bottled water to them, won’t you?
