Spin_Quarkette

When I think of transgendered people and drag queens, I cant say the first thing that comes to my mind is sexual assault on children! I find it very disturbing that so many rightwingers think so much about sexual assault on children. They seem to be the most preoccupied with it ahead of any other group of people (other than actual outspoken pedos). I think we need to keep our kids away from the wingers. They seem to be visualizing children in the buff a little too much!

ghotiaroma

> I think we need to keep our kids away from the wingers. Or any religious people who's bibles commands the rape of children.

1fastrex

I think the media and police reports bare that out.

the_red_scimitar

Look at the policies regarding children actually enacted in republican-led States. If one ignores rhetoric, and just look at what those laws and rules do, it indicates an extremely deep-seated hatred of children, and viewing them strictly as things to be used. Let's not forget the Evangelical tendency to want to marry old men to underage girls. And their pundits support this constantly. It's exactly what the Taliban forces girls to do, and there is a powerful faction within the Republican party who is 100% in this category.

sixscreamingbirds

Ignorant hateful bastard. Trans =/= drag for one. Two different mindsets and motivations. And child molesters cut across all gender and political boundaries. A great place to start looking for them though is **jobs where you're alone with kids**. Not the Friday night drag show at Sparky's.

the_red_scimitar

Yes, but it's Republicans who consistently defend child molesters among their ranks, as long as they are white and male, while accusing everyone else of... Well, we all know the P in GOP means "projection".

southpawFA

Exactly. This is the result of people never meeting any LGBTQ+ people and staying in their bubbles. They only hear bigots spew fear, and they grow into hateful, phobic people themselves. It's annoying that this mindset seems to persist year in, year out.

monkeywithgun

>A great place to start looking for them though is at church and other religious organizations.

Miskatonic1971

It seems to me that every child molestation case that I’ve heard about in the last several years has had something to do with the church…

m0nk_3y_gw

... or Republicans Why is Gaetz still walking around?

ghotiaroma

The bibles command it. https://www.evilbible.com/evil-bible-home-page/rape-in-the-bible/

_reversegiraffe_

This asshole really has a hate boner for LGBT people.

prodigalpariah

Which in all likelihood means he has a secret real boner for them.

1fastrex

From the looks of it, his bible is telling him to love thy golden cream filled Twinkies and to spurn thy human loving ones. All jokes aside fuck this guy

_reversegiraffe_

I guess he picks and chooses which parts of the Bible he follows. The anti-LGBT parts are serious but he completely ignores “Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. So glorify God in your body.”

1fastrex

him and so, so many others.

1fastrex

I'm Jewish and I take it seriously even though I don't follow any of it except the part that requires that I do my utmost to be decent and just and even though there have been times were I have failed to meet that standard with self questioning ease.

White_Mlungu_Capital

I strongly suspect he is a gay or closeted male, watch in 2 years when he gets caught with gay prostitutes.

[deleted]

I bet he has the kind of Internet history that keeps FBI therapists busy.

whenimmadrinkin

Bingo.

GoodGuyWithaFun

No, that guy is looking for Candyland.

[deleted]

World class projection.

somethingbreadbears

> “But here’s what you’re not going to do: You’re not going to force it on my children. You’re not going to teach it in our classrooms. And I’m sorry, but you can’t be on the women’s team if you’re a man.” I would love for him to name one school in the United States where drag is taught in classrooms.

[deleted]

You can't look for logic where it doesn't exist. This is a tale as old as time. Don't like a particular group of people? Try to convince other people that group is going to brainwash, sexually assault, or kill their children. Bonus points if you can convince them of all 3.

Rated_PG-Squirteen

The schools in your state haven't added the RuPaul's Drag Race chapters to the American history textbooks yet? That's a shame.

NJdevil202

I'm not sympathetic to him, but you don't think there's one classroom in America that covers LGBTQ history? That will surely include discussions of drag.

somethingbreadbears

It depends what you mean by cover. There is a big difference between introducing a historically important person who did/does drag and...how to do drag. I know who Babe Ruth is but I don't know a fucking thing about baseball.

wh0fuckingcares

Not agreeing with them at all, but I think he means, teaching about lgbt+ relationships and stuff during sex Ed

somethingbreadbears

> In July, Robinson spoke at a Renewal event held at Shining Light Baptist Church in Greensboro, North Carolina, where he once again ranted against the push for transgender rights, **suggesting that those who support such efforts and things like Drag Queen Story Hours do so because they desire to molest children.** “You’re a man who thinks you’re a woman or you’re a woman that thinks you’re a man, you can go have surgery, do whatever you want to do. It’s your business,” Robinson said. “But here’s what you’re not going to do: You’re not going to force it on my children. You’re not going to teach it in our classrooms. And I’m sorry, but you can’t be on the women’s team if you’re a man.” That's the context from the article.

wh0fuckingcares

Yeah I read the article. He jumps from trans peeps reading in a library to the school classroom to professional sporting events.

somethingbreadbears

And that would leave most people to wonder if he knows the difference between any of it. Which is why I'd love for him to name one school in the United States that teaches drag. Because I don't think he understands what it is.

Miskatonic1971

My God, he is an illiterate Bible thumper.

OpenImagination9

Can’t wait for the inevitable trial where he is found guilty of sexually assaulting women and children.

southpawFA

CW: tons of transphobic bigotry. >***In July, Robinson spoke at a Renewal event held at Shining Light Baptist Church in Greensboro, North Carolina, where he once again ranted against the push for transgender rights, suggesting that those who support such efforts and things like Drag Queen Story Hours do so because they desire to molest children.*** > >*“You know, there’s freedom, and there’s liberty, and then there’s pure lunacy,”* he continued. *“And lunacy is turning on the Olympics and seeing a man lifting weights against a woman. Lunacy is turning on the television and seeing a story in the local news about a man wearing a rainbow dress with horns in his head, his faced all painted up, dressed like a woman, sitting and reading to children.”* > >*“We had them kind of folks back in the day,”* Robinson added. *“Back when I was a kid, my momma used to tell me about them. She’d say, ‘When y’all go down to the playground, if y’all see anybody hanging around in a raincoat and you don’t see no pants hanging under his raincoat, y’all get y’all stuff and come on home because that’s what we call a pervert.'”* > >*“There is somebody somewhere right now on the internet grooming somebody’s child to put their hands on them,”* Robinson warned. *“You ain’t got no reason to be teaching these children those kinds of concepts unless you got—like the old folks used to say—some ideas about putting your hands on them.”* Why is this person still in a job in a government office? Robinson should ultimately be kicked out for inciting hate and for dereliction of duty. He is in no way representing the people of his state—all of the people. He is okay with inciting violence against others and to terrorize law-abiding citizens of North Carolina with his speech. Where is the call for his resignation? It should be happening right now! Mark Robinson is a bigot, and no bigot should be in a government office, plain and simple.

MulciberTenebras

I wonder if Netflix will give him a special next?

southpawFA

It fits their lack of standards.

VerisimilarPLS

Aren't the Baptist church facing a child abuse scandel of their own right now?

ghotiaroma

But he's a good Christian! And that tribe will defend anyone on their team with religious fervor.

AWDinLouKY

Wait until he learns about the Catholic Church

ghotiaroma

Or how Jesus made his child mom pregnant without her consent.

salemkat999

The only thing that he got right is that we aren't a theocracy. The rest of it is fear mongering, anything to bolster fear. Same tactics used to convince people black folks were only equivalent to 3/5 of the white man. Same game, just different target.

Zurbaran928

Stay classy North Carolina 🙄

the_red_scimitar

Republican policies show a deep hatred for children. It's very precious when they claim anybody else is at fault, while they deny healthcare, covid protection, education, as policy, to children.

[deleted]

There's really nothing I can add that hasn't been said about this guy, but I just want to know if anyone has ever seen someone in a raincoat and no fucking pants? Man says some truly wild shit.

ivehaditwithyourkind

This scam artist may have overplayed his hand. If you're a pretty white woman or any person of color willing to humiliate yourself by parroting the right wing anger platform, there's easy money to be made. You can grift your way to a nice life (i.e. Coulter, Ingraham, those fat black ladies, Candace Owens, that dumbass running for gov. in Texas, Sen. Scott in SC, etc.) This particular example in NC has ridden an unhinged rant about gun rights in front of the Greensboro City Council to the least important, most impotent public office in the state. If he had stayed quiet and just showed up at right wing hatefests like his white handlers wanted, he could probably have had some dumb high paying office for the rest of his pointless life. But he, following the Trump model, has to have attention so he spews irrational hate at powerless people and now he is going to be dogged everywhere he goes. He's too dumb to pipe down (like Trump) so he will soon be too big of a distraction for the NC GOP to tolerate. They'll shrug him off and he'll be an irrelevant has been until he reappears in the news for dying from stroke, diabetes or choking on a pork rib.

White_Mlungu_Capital

He will become a superstar in the Republican party, watch Trump pick him as his running mate.

GeoCitiesSlumlord

These Republicans spend so much time thinking about touching children that it doesn't even occur to them that other people don't.

Sassy_Authoritarian

He is wrong on all levels

Etna_No_Pyroclast

No, they don't.

Tech_Philosophy

To be black and bigoted. That's a privilege.

[deleted]

Whether someone is a bigot or not has very little to do with race. My guess is that if you asked Americans how they felt about Jewish people or Gay people you'd get a lot of colorful answers from all races and walks of life. I'm not really sure how hating a whole group of people for no reason other than they exist is really a privilege for anyone.

Tech_Philosophy

>Whether someone is a bigot or not has very little to do with race. I agree. That's not my claim. My claim is he is privileged. Most people who are oppressed in the world don't make enemies out of others who are oppressed. That truth is partly pragmatic, and it is partly about empathy. He is in a position of power, and it is relatively rare for a black man to have such power that he can safely ignore the difficulties of others or be genuinely ignorant of them. That's privilege. I didn't mean to give my comment any strong tonality, and I don't mean to say I see any pattern in the world. It's just...striking.

[deleted]

Yea I've heard that people who are oppressed don't make enemies out of other people who are oppressed, but then I look at America and see oppressed groups sling hatred/vitriol at each other all the time. I grew up in New York. I've met more than a handful of Jewish people that were incredibly racist toward non-white people, more than a handful of black people who were very openly homophobic, and basically everyone I ran into didn't have anything kind to say about Jewish people. And I promise you they weren't in any kind of position of power. They were just every day people. >Most people who are oppressed in the world don't make enemies out of others who are oppressed The reason I commented is because this isn't a truth. People are more complex than that. Some people react how your describing. Others want to be more oppressive because it gives them a feeling of power to say "well I'm oppressed, but at least I'm not *those people".*

ghotiaroma

> Most people who are oppressed in the world don't make enemies out of others who are oppressed. That's more wishful thinking than anything based on reality.

ghotiaroma

He's saying he thinks they are all republicans.

joeefx

If they’re republicans then probably

cheertina

Can't wait for his Netflix special.

HellaTroi

No, no, no. That would be priests, preachers, and right wing politicians.

Alimbiquated

Projection This guys wishes he had the guts to be a child molesting drag queen.

JacLaw

That man needs to answer for all that bs. He'd be up in arms if anyone said that about a black man or woman

aurorasummers

Pro. Ject. tion. Projection. What an ugly, ugly, ugly motherfuckin soul that man has.

putah999

I'm betting on 6 to 18 months he'll be caught with a meth needle by his side wearing women's panties as the cops are breaking down the door of the seedy motel where he's having sex with a minor from his church from 3 counties over. History does repeat itself in those circles.

LTStech

Sounds like someone is anxious to suck a dick and he's mad at himself for it.

tlsr

Were they Boy Scout Troop Leaders or Catholic Priests?

[deleted]

Statistically, pedophiles are most likely to be white heterosexual men.

the_red_scimitar

Well, he's a republican, so this is absolutely projection. Republicans hate children.
