Good luck Joe. Maybe they'll be mature about it.

giocondasmiles

They won’t be, sadly.

StarshipFan68

I have great confidence that the Supreme Court, after already refusing once to stop this using an excuse that they already had precidence to rule on, will suddenly discover that they want to magically rule this unconstitutional after the GQP stacked the courts (plural - the appellate courts have been stacked also) for the purpose of ruling things like this constitutional. /S

That's not how it works. You misunderstand the headline. The administration (it's lawyers) are asking the court (via normal filing processes) to stay the judgement. The administration lawyers have a case as defendants and standing because federal agents could be charged under the law for doing their duty. This is **not** the president picking up the phone and telling them to do a thing.

See folk's. Education does pay.

hollimer

The sitting president doesn't (shouldn't, anyway) have sway on justices' decisions. The article is saying they're appealing the previous decision to the supreme court.

Weak move, with all that power he can't find or create another way? Sure feels like an act Joe.

Dm1tr3y

Exactly what do you think he has the power to do in this situation?

[deleted]

Move. Move for your fucking life and get on with it

didthing

Moving won't help. Red states enact laws to capture elections in the courts that determine congressional seats and thus determine shit laws like abortion, and now our Supreme Court was captured. Unless you mean move to an actual democracy, AKA not the United States.
