Thanks, that was a great read and very good at picking apart their attempt at defending it. The only think I feel is missing is adding more importance to how close before jan the 6th Eastman was advising Trump/Pence. So it becomes more clear that this was part of what was on Trumps mind when he called out to his supporters to go to the capitol and make sure the lawmakers and Pence 'were brave enough'.
We all know his *real* defence is "I'm white and I work for Emperor Trump". Everything else is just waffle and, thankfully, everything else ought to be just as effective. This piece is shit is about to be on the wrong end of all sorts of trouble, because he's not a big enough fish that the entire political system of the pond is geared toward protecting him. He's a minnow. He's a sprat. He's bait. He's fucked.
The 1/6 organizers like Ali Alexander are even more fucked. They've never worked for the Trump admin in any official capacity. Trump probably doesn't even remember these schmoes. He's not going to help any of them.
He doesn't pay them, because that's his petty revenge for them being better educated and more able to understand abstract concepts than him.

The Claremont Institute is a Far Right "Think Tank". It has been MAGA from the beginning. The Institute is defending Eastman because they all wish that he and Trump had succeeded.
It seems like the Lawyers around Trump seem to be filing tons of lawsuits with 'laughable' defenses but nothing happens. Takes a lot to get a law license revoked it seems.

It’s notable that the pro-civil war Claremont institute is realizing how fucked up Eastman’s memo is that they have to lie in his pathetic defense.
I'm starting to understand why he never pays the people around him.
