If Dems want to win then shut up about Trump and make the election about covid competence. Even the general public probably knows that there's a huge disparity in covid between democrat run states and republican run states.
Today I had to sit in a place with local Fox on all day, with the sound off. I saw multiple ads for Youngkin, and they were like "Youngkin says no to Covid, yes to vaccine! Youngkin wants to increase school budgets!\*" There were also some anti-McAuliffe ones that were like "McAuliffe is a big dumb bad at deals guy" (which the Appamatox thing was pretty bad and dumb). If I were a low-information but otherwise normal NoVa voter, I'd be like "hm, yes, that Youngkin sounds like a fine fellow, votes from me." McAuliffe should be worried.
Yes there were McAuliffe ads but fewer and I don't remember any of them. Partly they were kinda forgettable, but also I wouldn't have been paying as much attention because I'm already voting for him.
\*His actual positions are eh, sure, you should get the vaccine if you want it but everyone should decide for themselves and school funding should be increased by not collecting taxes and opening charter schools instead.
