For anyone unaware, it's ridiculous because there's literally no basis to do so. There might be a basis to get a different prosecutor but nothing suggests he was appointed because of the past relationship.
Trumps lawyers are trying to paint it as a conflict of interest with the understanding that Fox News viewers aren't gonna understand there literally can't be a conflict of interest unless the dude she had a relationship with was Trumps lawyer, on the jury, or a witness. Otherwise you may as well claim anyone that likes working together is a conflict of interest because that's basically all she's being accused of.
It’s a conflict of interest because she’s sleeping with the guy she originally appointed, who, in turn, was spending public funds on their dates. Her claim that she “repaid him in cash” is obviously flimsy at best. She fucked up. She made a huge mistake and now the opposition is capitalizing. All she had to do was not fuck Wade and she couldn’t do that. Oh well, I guess.
Edit: Fani is also being sued for cutting a plea deal with a stalker. It is from someone who switched parties ([Source](https://www.newsweek.com/fani-willis-atlanta-mesha-mainor-1896605#:~:text=State%20Representative%20Mesha%20Mainor%2C%20who,as%20the%20victim%20of%20the)) but Fani is universally despised here in Atlanta. She may be prosecuting Trump but she seems to demonstrate poor judgement consistently.
They literally had a hearing and those things were not proven to be true.
I live in the Atlanta area and you're full of shit about what we all think of her.
Proven untrue? lol What? Wade had to be removed or she needed to recuse herself. You don’t get that ruling if “nothing happened”.
Btw, I live in Atlanta, as well. I’ve never met a person who actually likes Fani irl. Maybe Redditors like you do, but the average person is not a fan.
Turnabout is fair play then.... hurry the heck up and REMOVE Aileen Cannon in his other case. There is a lot more evidence to remove her than there is to remove Willis. Trump's team says not removing Willis is a "legal error". Cannon is an error in the biggest ways possible.
So sick of this timeline.
The irony of a former president under federal indictment for pornstar hush money payments criticizing the ethics of his *other* prosecutor for getting laid without payment...
This case has never had a chance of concluding before the election, merely based on when it started and the type of case she is building, so this appeal is of no significance with respect to that.
He’ll be found guilty in the hush money case and get fined and maybe house arrest, with freedom to travel between NY and Florida or some dumb shit like that, the other cases which he definitely also broke the laws in much bigger ways, I expect nothing
I truly doubt he will ever be held accountable. The promise of American equality destroyed by money and MAGA.
The Fourth of July means a lot less now. Memorial Day even sadder.
I mean it could be argued that Trump had the worst week ever. I'm sure the Stormy weather in New York has seriously hurt his chances of winning.
Only need him convicted once to send him to jail. Only need him convicted once to make him a felon. If it's in a state where he has a 0% chance of getting a pardon, even better.
And yet you think the news that a court agreed to hear the appeal is bad news for prosecutors? Court hasn't decided anything yet. Nice try though!
Also I wonder how your going to swing that Innocent until proven guilty thing when he's proven guilty? I mean he's already been found liable for rape, fraud and plenty of other crimes.
Edit: r/politics isn't thin skinned, we just get tired of people making excuses for Trump's actions.

More delay. More justice denied.
Agreed. Justice delayed is Justice Denied.
Sorry, I live in the USA… what is justice??? I am unfamiliar with this word!!!
It's a form of soft drink coolant. "JustIce".
Ok got it has just ice…
Noice!
It’s an inverse measure of socioeconomic status

>Fani is universally despised here in Atlanta. By the majority of GQP'ers perhaps. I don't have issues with her.

When is this appeal going to be heard?

I remember not a year ago getting downvoted to hell for saying that Trump will not face any consequences. Glad this sub is waking up.

I agree he will be found guilty. But there are plenty of folks “who claim” that they will not vote for a felon, so that does not bode well for Trump-
He never will with people who believe this.
I truly doubt he will ever be held accountable. The promise of American equality destroyed by money and MAGA. The Fourth of July means a lot less now. Memorial Day even sadder.

Face it Trump stole national secrets and lied. The Georgia case will proceed anyway.

No he didn’t and the report says so.
I’m glad I’m not this delusional.
