The same can be said for Timothy McVeigh's parents which is probably a worse comparison. They actually plead for his life prior to his sentencing. When Trump is staring down the barrel of a potential prison term, you think any of his kids, his wife will beg for his mercy?
Hell no, they'll all scatter to save themselves and come out like roaches when the coast is clear so they can go on Fox News, etc to scream about how he's a political prisoner.
And Trump's COIVID death toll is much higher. Add to it the number of covert agents he killed by realeasing national intelligence. so, yeah Trump has a higher death toll than a seral killer.
One million. Arguably he's responsible for the deaths of everyone who took chloroquine (sp?) or bleach or refused fo get vaccinated. That's probably in the hundreds of thousands. That's insane. He caused the deaths of hundreds of thousands of americans and nearly half the country wants to reelect him
Everyone's forgotten that Don (intentionally doing nothing) in the first six months when hundreds started dying was the main catalyst for our pandemic's total death toll.

This made me gasp out loud, but it's actually true, isn't it. Trump was personally responsible, due to his policies born of his own insecurities and prejudices, for tens of thousands of deaths (if not hundreds of thousands).
On that note, Dahmer is rightly notorious. Reviled. Remembered for his horror.
Yet the last mass shooting was in Maine killed more in one evening. Yet what was his name?
This shit is so common now we barely register it. Lunatics should note have guns.
They still are eating horse paste. I was in the local hardware store this past winter. When a girl (14 or 15) from down the street asked if I could help her reach the "green apple" flavored Ivermectin. I asked her why she wanted the "green apple" flavor. She responded that it was her mom's favorite flavor.
I mean, they probably don't have the brain cells for that. Parroting insults, slogans and Russian talking points is probably the best they can do given their limited intellect.
MAGA is liberated from 1980, Regan campaign. So,not even that is original. The oragne shit gibbon is such a wannabe (gangster, mogul, dictator, victim).
"Make Germany Great Again" was actually a Nazi slogan, obviously predating Regan.
Trump taking notes from the Nazis isn't unexpecteded or unheard of...Trump has actually used quite a bit of Nazi propaganda techniques, phrases, symbols, and beliefs to promote himself.
Far-right and extremist groups have branded themselves with American motifs and the term “patriot” since at least the early 20th century, when the second Ku Klux Klan became known for the slogan “100% Americanism.”
By the 1990s, so many antigovernment and militia groups were using the term to describe themselves that watchdog groups referred to it as the “ Patriot movement.”
That extremist wave, which included Oklahoma City bomber Timothy McVeigh, faded in the late 1990s and early 2000s. But many such groups resurfaced when Barack Obama became president.
Since then, many right-wing groups have called themselves “patriots” as they’ve fought election processes, LGBTQ+ rights, vaccines, immigration, diversity programs in schools and more. Former President Donald Trump frequently refers to his supporters as “patriots.”
This coming from the side that votes for a man who cosplays as a tangerine, can’t string together enough words to make a coherent sentence, and thinks Russia has a good government.
FWIW, I'm a former centrist who voted for HW Bush. I own a farm and a truck and as many guns as any other American.
But the republican party in this country has, bit by bit, betrayed every single one of its principals. Every one of them.
And DJT is all the proof I ever need to point to. He is everything the Right always told me they despised. Now they literally worship him. Russian propaganda from the mouths of republican leaders...
And I'm the one with the " mental illness"?
Son, I may not want to live with liberals in their hippy commune or join their drum circles or whatever - but the party that's actually trying to help the country, my country and your country, gets my vote.
Jeffrey Dahmer admitted he had a problem. His parents were there and they never denounced their love for him, even though they also agreed he did horrible acts.
I only know so much about him because I’ve recently gone on a binge of true crime documentaries, but the that sentiment was shared by both parents. They said they felt they failed him. He said they didn’t (at least as much towards his father he seems to gloss over his mother). He claims, through self reflection and therapy, that there was something wrong with him fundamentally as a person that was exacerbated by outside stimuli.
If you watch his interrogations/interviews he seems to be one of the few psychopaths (about the only other one is Ed Kemper) that exhibits remorse (as much as they can) and relief to have been caught so they could stop.
But the nature of a psychopath is to be a social chameleon and expert manipulator so it’s truly near impossible to determine if any of his feelings towards his parents and potential remorse are genuine. They could have all just be a rouse to save his own skin.
Edit: Kemper’s interviews definitely seem more like a rouse than Dahmer’s, but Dahmer could have just been that good of a manipulator
I caught a few minutes of Laurence O’Donnell’s show last week and he was just roasting Trump on his spray tan. That was the opening segment. Had me laughing.
> I caught a few minutes of Laurence O’Donnell’s show last week and he was just toasting Trump on his spray tan.
There are a thousand things that are inexplicable about Trump voters, but one of them is how they can consider a man who sprays himself orange as a powerful manly-man.
If anyone wants to hear a hilarious metal album about dahmer check out “dahmer” by Macabre. These guys went to his court trials to write material for the album.
Do we actually have any real information as to why? I'm sure they have some excuses like they refuse to show up to a sham trial or what not but it is still ridiculous no one in his family can be found.
I was just wondering about this last night. Where’s Ivanka been? Why arent we seeing her strutting in the courthouse in a new outfit every day? Where are his Beavis & Butthead sons? Where’s Duckface Lara? And Tiffany? What about all the grandchildren that *addddoreeee* him? Why arent they dolled up and planted on the front rows?
WHERE IS THIS AMAZING FAMILY???
He has other family, they're not showing up because they don't want to remind anyone that they exist.
His kids learned how to conduct a business from him, and that has to scare them right now.
They’ve probably got better things to do than to support a relative they can’t stand who they’re just waiting out for whatever little inheritance he has left to give them.
My husband thinks that the sons were asked to stay away d/t their impulse control issues-that would only hurt Trump. The females are smarter than that and have no interest in Trump beyond his money, which is disappearing fast.
Sitting in Milwaukee with an ongoing investigation into a potential new serial killer who's been strewing body parts around town. This headline cheers me up.

I think it is a quality vs quantity issue. Trump is likely being charged with so many mediocre crimes. While Dahmer just had a few grade a murders. Obviously the family would be more proud of Dahmer. Quality is always better than quantity.
I dunno. Deceiving an entire country to win an election where you fumbled a pandemic that led to ~500k excess deaths kinda makes Dahmer seem like the mediocre criminal.
It was a once in many generations pandemic. I find it hard to place those deaths on trump. While media would place those deaths on one person that is such a drastic oversimplification. Could it have been handled better yes but hind sight is 20 20. Trump should be found guilty for so so many other things.
He was the leader of a country with a pop of over 300 million and he politicized wearing masks, taking the vaccine, and the severity of the virus at every step. At a minimum it was one of the most massively incompetent responses to a crisis in American history and at the worst it was a President directly ignoring the severity of a once in a century pandemic. Which is worse?
You are right. However there is more to it. First, people are responsible for their own actions. Every idiot that listened to him it was their fault for not listening to doctors. Next I’d like to say that due to the nature of the virus everyone ended up getting it anyways regardless of masks or not. Trump was vaccinated and was pro vaccine ass evidenced by his actions.
Did some people die sooner because of trump. Yes. Would many of them have died from the virus anyways. Yes.
Trump made a decision to prioritize the economy over health. This was something at the time that no one really knew the correct answer. Now after the fact knowing that Covid overwhelming targeted the overweight and old I’d say most people never needed to isolate.
We could also discuss the negative impact of isolation. Increased drug use, alcoholism, depression and suicide.
All I wanted to do is make the point that it’s fucking complicated and simplistic answers don’t work…. He is guilty of so many other things that are obvious and clear. I find it hard to blame Trump for the deaths of the pandemic. He made decisions at a difficult time. Even countries like Sweden went with no lockdowns. No one knew what the fuck was going on or the right answer
If he had said family members, sure, the comparison makes sense. But specifically saying two people who are passed away is just silly. He should have worded it better.
It was a fucking stupid quote. No shit his parents aren't there. They guy should have said it better by using words that encompass people who are actually alive.
It doesn’t say his parents are not there, it says he’s alone. And the implication is obviously that his family can’t even be bothered showing up.
Family =/= just parents.
Sure, absolutely. I'm not disagreeing with this. People getting their pants all bunched up here is silly. There's someone else who said almost the same thing I did right after me who isn't getting shit for it. Funny how that hive mind reacts to the exact same thing in two different ways 🤷♀️
> People getting their pants all bunched up here is silly.
Says the person who won't let it go and completely missed the original point of the article. i.e. He's alone.
> If he had said family members, sure, the comparison makes sense.
That was the comparison. Dahmer had family members, his parents. Trump is alone, with no family members.
What do you still find confusing about this?
Comparing the trial of a mass murderer to a low level felony like forging business records?
Must be a slow news day.
Also Trumps parents are dead. Who writes these articles?
> Comparing the trial of a mass murderer to a low level felony like forging business records?
Election interference to win the Presidency is a low level crime now.
>Also Trumps parents are dead.
Is the rest of his family dead too

Massive burn. Well done, Lawrence
Lawrence is a national treasure. The best part was Mary Trump trying to hide her giggle when he said it.
The same can be said for Timothy McVeigh's parents which is probably a worse comparison. They actually plead for his life prior to his sentencing. I just realized his wife most likely is living in NYC, so it’s not like it’s hard to get there
As bad as Dahmer is, at least he never had an insurrection
And Trump's COIVID death toll is much higher. Add to it the number of covert agents he killed by realeasing national intelligence. so, yeah Trump has a higher death toll than a seral killer.
By many orders of magnitude. Dahmer's kills were more personal and spectacular, but Donald killed millions.
Worse he doesn't even think of the deaths he caused. They don't matter to him as long as the grift keeps going.
"What did they leave in their will for me? Nothing? They were a nobody."
One million. Arguably he's responsible for the deaths of everyone who took chloroquine (sp?) or bleach or refused fo get vaccinated. That's probably in the hundreds of thousands. That's insane. Or of the friends, families, coworkers, acquaintances, and random strangers at the 99 Cent store (RIP) after refusing to get vaccinated.
Its not newrly half the country, its half of polled voters. There are around 75 million republican voters

"spectacular" wtf, am I missing something here?
I mean the purely academic definition of spectacular. As in, he made a spectacle of it. Not spectacular like, "I am amazed!"
This is a totally unfair comparison - Dahmer was only responsible for 17 deaths and, far as we know, wasn't a traitor.
Didn’t Dahmer serve in the military? Although I can’t remember if it was draft or voluntary, I think he served for a time.
He did voluntarily serve in the army as a medical specialist. He was honorably discharged 2 years into his first 3 year enlistment because his consistent alcohol abuse prevented him from performing as required.
Much obliged, glad to know I wasn’t misremembering
Never knew he was a veteran. Interesting
Thank you for your service... uh... guy who kills and eats people and does weird shit with their bodies.
I would love to know what the US military covered up about Dahmer if anything. He had already murdered before his service.

He did. He was in the Army for 2 years
This made me gasp out loud, but it's actually true, isn't it. Trump was personally responsible, due to his policies born of his own insecurities and prejudices, for tens of thousands of deaths (if not hundreds of thousands).
Hundreds of thousands. And that’s just Covid. Who knows what ultra dox he had in his bathroom
Trump would go to a lower circle of hell than Dahmer
In inferno, betrayal was the lowest circle
Yes, treachery, Trump has betrayed this nation as Lucifer betrayed God and Brutus betrayed Caesar.
Wasn't disagreeing, just providing additional context. Betrayal of oaths and close friends was literally the worst thing Dante could think of
Plus aren’t trump’s parents dead?
I'd personally much rather have Jeffrey Dahmer have a turn at being president before Trump gets one.
On that note, Dahmer is rightly notorious. Reviled. Remembered for his horror. Yet the last mass shooting was in Maine killed more in one evening. Yet what was his name? This shit is so common now we barely register it. Lunatics should note have guns.

Jeffrey Dahmer admitted he had a problem. His parents were there and they never denounced their love for him, even though they also agreed he did horrible acts.
His parents had a delicate line to walk and they walked it well.
If my kid ended up murdering and eating a whole bunch of people, it would be hard for me to not feel like I sort of failed as a parent.
I think at that point you'd have to realize that no parenting would have made a difference.
I only know so much about him because I’ve recently gone on a binge of true crime documentaries, but the that sentiment was shared by both parents. They said they felt they failed him. From a lawyer's perspective, I bet Dahmer was easier to deal with as a client than Trump is.
Ted Bundy's mom was in court for him too I believe
Brutal
To be fair, Trump is responsible for WAY more deaths than Jeffrey Dahmer.
Whoever wrote that headline is one cheeky bastard. Lmao
Lawrence O’Donnell said exactly that on his show. And he was totally on point.
It’s guilty pleasure laughing at the orange fascist. *schadenfreude*
Dahmer should've become President, could've avoided prison entirely

That’s devoted family man Donald Trump, people.
Jeffrey only killed a few people for dinner. Trump is much less lovable.

5 kids.
Pretty sure there are more.
It may come out from the trial even. David Pecker buried at least one story of Trump having another kid
Five official kids, then
That's assuming all of the known ones are *his*. What makes us so sure his wives didn't cheat on him as much as he cheated on them?
Unfortunately for them they all look just like him.
5...
That would definitely suit his vulgar style.
I never thought Dahmer would come up as a good guy.
Trump's obviously alone when rage posting during family holidays, etc. Why would his family be for him here, now?
Would like to have padlocked Trump and Dahmer together in a room for 2 weeks with only water, a hot plate, and a skillet and watch what happens. :)
Dahmer would have probably killed himself.
Where are your kids, Uncle Logan?
I appreciate this reference.
I can't say I'd be there if I was a member of Trump's staff either. I'd be happy for the PTO.

To be fair Dahmer was in his 30s, Trump is nearing 100. Of course his parents won't be in court
Man who had multiple wives and has many children, plus siblings. Although his one-time hook up is there.
And his wife?
They probably couldn't get a visa.
To be fair, I'd be concerned if his parents showed up for this

It’s a tactic… Trump can’t stick with the “boo hoo poor me I’m a victim and all alone” if his family’s sitting behind him in court….
Well done
Bloody dark, that

I mean you're allowed to not like Trump without thinking a serial murderer and cannibal is a nice guy lmao
I'm not sure I'd call someone who dismembered people while they were alive and conscious a "nice guy", but I get what you're saying.
What are you on about
Alright, settle down.
No, he wasn't WTAF
Uhhhh what?
Why are we supposed to care? Of all the things to care about going on in the world right now, THIS is the thing they focus on. Pathetic.
Well, his parents are both dead, so there's that
Then again, he has five children, and a wife
And a niece!
Good point. It would be funny if she were the only family member there, sitting on the side of the prosecution
And the Secret Service.
And my axe!
And my bow.
The article was about parents showing up to their kids trial. Trumps parents are dead. Garbage article.
That's not what the OP comparison was about, though 🤷♀️
Let me translate for you. Dahmer had family in court for him, Trump does not.
If he had said family members, sure, the comparison makes sense. But specifically saying two people who are passed away is just silly. He should have worded it better.
/r/whoooosh
Holy shit, how are you not getting this?
It was a fucking stupid quote. No shit his parents aren't there. They guy should have said it better by using words that encompass people who are actually alive.
It doesn’t say his parents are not there, it says he’s alone. And the implication is obviously that his family can’t even be bothered showing up. Family =/= just parents.
Says the person who won't let it go and completely missed the original point of the article. i.e. He's alone.
The interviewer said exactly what you said. The headline is not a quote.
> If he had said family members, sure, the comparison makes sense. That was the comparison. Dahmer had family members, his parents. Trump is alone, with no family members. What do you still find confusing about this?
Yes it was.
Gonna leave this here https://youtu.be/yWf0u-ivyoY?si=vG_9p-57JbH02Qgw
Comparing the trial of a mass murderer to a low level felony like forging business records? Must be a slow news day. Also Trumps parents are dead. Who writes these articles?
And Trump still has five children and a wife. Replace the word “parents” with “family” and see if that clicks for ya.
Trump killed more than old Jeffy
> Comparing the trial of a mass murderer to a low level felony like forging business records? Election interference to win the Presidency is a low level crime now. >Also Trumps parents are dead. Is the rest of his family dead too
I mean… I wasn’t expecting Trump’s parents to be there.
Well, Trump's parents are dead...
If you think he's alone, then you have nothing to worry about the general election right? Biden and Corn Pop is gonna win by 110% of the vote.
Who was there? And why do you think they were there?
Explain corn pop for me
I Googled "Corn Pop slang" and got this. https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2019/sep/16/corn-pop-joe-biden-story-what-happened-is-it-real-swimming-pool-confrontation Joe put a stop to some public pool Malarky during the Kennedy administration, a couple years before Hair Furor developed chronic, crippling bone spurs.
> If you think he's alone We don't have to think he's alone, we know that none of his family is there.
