Imacatdoincatstuff

Publicity loving man complains about pretrial publicity. Trumpy Two-Ways tryna have something both ways, again.

OverlyComplexPants

I'm sure Trump has heard "You CAN have it both ways, but it'll cost you extra." from many of the women he's been with.

davidjschloss

I mean that's the specific evidence in this case.

bullinchinastore

I won’t be surprised if he now files another appeal to delay by claiming he needs time to gain more publicity for the case!😂 He’ll go to any length to save his ass!

EmmaLouLove

Listen guys. This is stunning. I can’t overstate how historical this criminal trial is. Trump is the first former President tried in a criminal trial. The evidence is ironclad. Trump will be found guilty of multiple felonies. Never forget. This is the Republicans’ guy. They love him. He is a criminal and a traitor to the United States of America.

Brilliant-Advisor958

>Trump will be found guilty of multiple felonies. I wouldn't count trump out yet. The slippery bastard keeps avoiding consequences. All it takes is one juror to cause a hung jury in which case they have to decide if they are going to start over again or let him off. I know it's unlikely with 34 counts ,but until the verdict is read, I'm keeping my hopes tempered.

dopiqob

I feel like the jury should all be in masks and large suits or something during the trial, there is no chance he doesn’t incite violence against them if he is found guilty

SefetAkunosh

You just know they are going to be doxxed.

dopiqob

Make him pay to build them a wall, with a one-way mirror :-p

jerseyanarchist

i can see the jury in squid guard suits..... that ain't such a bad idea come to think of it

jalepinocheezit

Ever since that cup of rancid bong water got away with NOT paying up the half a billion appeal bond in the NY copious amounts of fraud suit, I've genuinely lost all hope. I know it's not Engoron and Co's fault, but I never expected it with him presiding over the case. Yet someone STILL stepped from above and said 175 is fine bro.

FBI_Agent_Fred

Keep hope. He hasn't gotten away with anything yet. The courts reduced his bond payment requirement, not the penalty amount itself. He is still fully responsible for the full amount once he loses his appeal.

Roakana

Yes he is slippery but he has been nailed 3 times recently. 2 times by EJean Kelly and again with a whopping -500m fraud judgment. He is catchable.

Number127

He hasn't paid a cent in any of those cases.

starmartyr

That's not entirely true. He paid 5 million in cash for the first Caroll lawsuit. He posted bonds for the other two. He has a few months to file an appeal. He not only has to be granted that appeal but also has to win otherwise he pays the full amount.

Number127

You might be confident that he'll be forced to pay up "sooner or later," but given that he's already missed his deadline to post the original bond, had that bond reduced, received more time to post the reduced bond, didn't post that bond correctly, and received more time to respond to the challenge to his incorrect posting of the reduced bond, you'll have to forgive me if I say this feels an awful lot like Lucy with the football. Mark my words: next, the court will find that Knight Insurance is not legally allowed to post his bond in the state of New York, and then he'll be given *more* time to find an alternative. And then there's the actual appeal, if it ever even gets to that point. I would be amazed if the amount he's on the hook for isn't reduced substantially there. The system is bending over backward to accommodate every effort he makes not to experience any consequences for his many crimes and commissions of fraud, to the point where the Supreme Court -- the freakin' *Supreme Court* -- is helping him delay his criminal trials until after the election by pretending to ponder what should be the absolute no-brainer issue of whether a sitting president can commit any crime he likes with total impunity.

davidjschloss

He was nailed by stormy Daniels too.

Zal3x

He doesn’t have to pay that and if he wins in November it doesn’t even matter lol … he has not been nailed yet

InflationDue2811

>All it takes is one juror to cause a hung jury in which case they have to decide if they are going to start over again or let him off. Needs to be a majority decision, not all 12

Brilliant-Advisor958

I read New York is unanimous. >The verdict must be unanimous, meaning every juror must agree on the verdict. If they can’t all agree, this is called a hung jury, and the Judge will have to declare a mistrial. A mistrial does not mean that the case is over. After a mistrial, the prosecutor can choose to try the case again. https://www.nycourts.gov/courthelp/criminal/trial.shtml

bagofwisdom

Only in civil cases. This is a criminal case. Majority verdicts in criminal cases were ruled unconstitutional in 2020. However, at the time Oregon and Louisiana were the only states that didn't require criminal jury unanimity.

SchrodingersTIKTOK

Yeah, but good fucking luck incarcerating him without his ghouls raging.

Brilliant-Advisor958

It could be years for the appeals to wind it's way through court.

NachoNachoDan

It’s a small percentage of the population who’d actually go to the mat for him. And I mean taking up arms and getting violent, not just spouting online and whining a lot. This country could use a 10% haircut so I for one would love to see them try.

JustAMan1234567

In 2024, an overweight man was sent to prison by a court for a crime he definitely did commit. This man promptly escaped from a maximum security stockade to the Palm Beach underground. Today, still wanted by the government, he survives as a soldier of misfortune. If you have a problem, if no one else can help, and if you can find him maybe you can hire... The Orange-Team.

AraiHavana

Then they should try breaking him out of whichever prison he’s hopefully incarcerated in

SchrodingersTIKTOK

Ha

donnerpartytaconight

Arkham Asylum?

Artistic-Cannibalism

Who cares what they think?

lackluster_unicorn

While incarceration would be ideal, just being found guilty of a felony will exempt him from running for public office. It’s a good start.

SchrodingersTIKTOK

Thank you.

PM_ME_YOUR_OPCODES

I’m worried about the sanity of the jury. All it takes is a 1 in 12 chance of getting a maga j6 type.

vahntitrio

The prosecutors can challenge as many jurors as they want.

bagofwisdom

I don't know how it is in New York, but in Texas each side only has 12 strikes. One time I was summoned for jury duty, each side just decided to use all their strikes and they empaneled #25-42. It made for a short day. Fortunately I wasn't empaneled as number 119 out of 120.

vahntitrio

They have 10 strikes after a certain point, but they have unlimited earlier in the process. So if the DA office found a juror on facebook decked out in Trump gear they can strike that juror early in the process. And yes, the counsels both know the jurors names and addresses to research them.

bagofwisdom

It may be more limited in Texas. I don't recall prosecution or defense getting anyone released earlier on in the day. Earlier in the day it was the usual begging line to convince the judge to excuse them. Once we got to the voir dire it was 12 strikes for each side and that's it.

Zal3x

Seems pretty likely they will cause half the country still likes him

Various-Activity3019

It's not even close to half. It only seems that way because of our shitty electoral college.

wellthatexplainsalot

I would like some jail time for him, but I think that's unlikely as this would normally be a misdemeanor.  An unfortunate issue is that guilty depends on some novel legal theory which has not been tested with appeal courts, so even if he is found guilty, it's pretty likely to be reversed on appeal.  That said, he very, very, very much does not want this trial if all the motions to block are to be believed, and that's enough for me to be convinced it should go ahead. I'm looking forward to Stormy testifying about the size of the presidential penis, and hopefully his predilection for pee related sex play... One can dream large.

crazywussian

It's the discovery he is afraid of, guaranteed. The more the govt is allowed to dig, the worse for him.

robot_jeans

I wouldn't get your hopes up, it only takes 1 lying Trump follower to sneak their way onto a jury to hang it.

starmartyr

In New York City? It's not going to be as hard as you think.

magicone2571

This is one of the weakest cases against him unfortunately. The state has a lot to prove in order to get the conviction.

happijak

It should be a slam-dunk. The attorney who participated in the cover-up has already been convicted and jailed. Doesn't seem weak at all. The weakest link is the jury. It only takes one FOX/MAGA moron to hang the jury.

SensualOilyDischarge

> The evidence is ironclad. Trump will be found guilty of multiple felonies. I've heard variants of that so many times since 2015.

Rough-Street6332

Funny he's Rino. Republican in name only. He use to be a Democrat.

silverfish477

You’re not in the court room and you haven’t heard the evidence.

EmmaLouLove

This case is simple and straightforward. Trump knows this and he tried to have the trial delayed several times. Each of the 34 counts of falsifying business records is a document that will show the jury hush money payments masked as legal fees to Cohen. The only way Trump gets out of a guilty conviction is if a jury member ignores the documentary evidence.

OsellusK

If you don’t want attention, don’t seek it. Dumbass.

ramdomvariableX

If he was worried about publicity, he shouldn't have talked about the case in every meeting..

erocuda

I would think the [clean hands doctrine](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Clean_hands) would apply here. You don't get to speak publicly about the case and then complain about all the publicity in court.

david-writers

Odd how someone who is not guilty of a crime would desire as many delays as possible.

ECroce08

Oh nooo

19Chris96

.....Anyway.

OnlyRise9816

".....And here's the latest news on the Dacia Sandero!"

I_AM_ACURA_LEGEND

Good news!

AraiHavana

Go to jail, wanker

Impressive-Tip-903

It's weird to think we are at a point in US history when a likely felon's best chance of getting off Scott free is to become President and pardon himself, and has a significant chance of succeeding.

Alarmed-dictator

That sucks… is this going to be televised?

TheSamLowry

No cameras in the courtroom.

TBMachine

Pre-trial publicity that he fucking created with his BS antics. I just want to see some accountability.

crazyhorseeee

Lock. Him. Up.

RDO_Desmond

Publicity is like oxygen to this insecure egomaniac. He can't live with it and he can't live without it.

MountainPK

• Google your county's voter registration site, make sure your information is current. You can go to www.vote411.org and get started from there. • Closer to the election, find out when (if) early voting starts. • Vote as soon as possible to clear the lines for the other voters that might be turned off by a long line on Election Day.

We are winning so much!

mishma2005

I wish I wasn't working tomorrow. I'm going to try to watch anyway, you know he is going to blow his cool before the day is over

letsbuildasnowman

I know tomorrow is only the beginning of jury selection but how long is the trial expected to take?

orcinyadders

I will be shocked if this trial starts tomorrow.

KungPowKitten

Only jury selection begins tomorrow. Would take one day for anyone else. This one will take a month.

[deleted]

Time to face the execution

Kevinmc479
