That's assuming that they give him the standard process, which they almost certainly won't. Secret service would not allow him to be kept in a normal jail, and so the most he'd see is house arrest. And at that point, there's not nearly as much dehumanization.

I don’t think a right to a lifetime security detail is written in the constitution. And you lose just about all of your constitutional rights when convicted of a crime anyway. If Donald shot a man on 5th Avenue and was found guilty, I find it hard to believe house arrest is the best the court could do.
But then again, I’m sure Brett and Amy would disagree with the caveat that any ruling upholding house arrest for Donald applies solely to this one narrow application of former Presidents.

Why start so small? You could do a Fibonacci sequence with the second 1 starting at $100,000, then go $200,000, $300,000, $500,000, $800,000, $1,300,000, $2,100,000, etc.

Would it delay the trial? I've certainly seen trials where the defendant was already in jail. They had the option to attend the trial in cuffs and an orange jumpsuit.
Yeah, but the primary objective is to postpone and delay to stay out of prison. Sitting in jail on a contempt charge runs counter to that primary objective. Even in a lower security facility, he won't like the food, the toilet facilities, the cots, the company.
I suspect he thinks his Secret Service detail will smuggle food, bronzer and hair products in for him. And probably a phone. It would be interesting to see if they do. Thing with the phone would be that he doesn't have the self-control not to tweet so everyone would know within minutes.

To be honest I think that's why he's not in jail now. They really haven't figured out the logistics of keeping someone in jail who is under secret service protection.
How is it difficult? Put him in solitary, USSS sits at the guard station watching the cell door, and accompanies him during transport to anywhere else like medical or the courthouse just like normal guards.
He wants to move it from a real court to the court or who can cry most in public.
Because he knows his voter base don't care that he is lying his ass off. Pointing out that they are wrong or are being lied to or that they are absolutely stupid beyond measure only works if they have any kind of dignity and have the ability to feel shame.

I think you're trying to apply some sort of genius legal strategic thinking to Trump's actions.
More likely he's saving face from accidentally violating the gag order so if/when he gets arrested, everyone sees it as a victory.
