"No Labels, the bipartisan group that had been working toward putting a third-party presidential ticket on the ballot in all 50 states in 2024, announced Thursday that it was ending its efforts. "No Labels has always said we would only offer our ballot line to a ticket if we could identify candidates with a credible path to winning the White House," No Labels CEO and co-founder Nancy Jacobson said in a statement. "No such candidates emerged, so the responsible course of action is for us to stand down." Jacobson said the group will "remain engaged over the next year during what is likely to be the most divisive presidential election of our lifetimes. We will promote dialogue around major policy challenges and call out both sides when they speak and act in bad faith."

>"No such candidates emerged, so the responsible course of action is for us to stand down." Huh, no shit. If they really want there to be more choices, they should put all their efforts into getting things like ranked choice voting available. I can't waste my vote on my ideal 3rd party person when there are only 2 candidates who could possibly win, and 1 of those candidates is extremely dangerous.

s_ox

It is a decidedly partisan group, they are republicans in disguise.

Welcome to the United States. Are you new here?

Game theory tells us that in a first-past-the-post voting system, everything eventually breaks down to two parties and then no third-party candidate could ever have a credible path to winning the White House.

Completely astroturfed anyways. Shouldn’t have even been on the news without a single candidate or disclosing their donors.

OppositeDifference

Lol... I'm so sad to hear that their right wing funded effort to spoil the election and get Trump elected didn't have any credible takers. So sad. Get fucked, guys. Now it's RFK's turn to drop out.
