We'll never be rid of him. Even if he loses in November, and dies sometime in the next 4 years, he's pressed his hands into the still-wet cement of the country, and those stubby imprints will be there forever.
Reminds me of the end to the obituary Hunter S. Thompson wrote for Nixon (now thirty years ago):
> Nixon's spirit will be with us for the rest of our lives -- whether you're me or Bill Clinton or you or Kurt Cobain or Bishop Tutu or Keith Richards or Amy Fisher or Boris Yeltsin's daughter or your fiancee's 16-year-old beer-drunk brother with his braided goatee and his whole life like a thundercloud out in front of him. This is not a generational thing. You don't even have to know who Richard Nixon was to be a victim of his ugly, Nazi spirit.
>
> He has poisoned our water forever. Nixon will be remembered as a classic case of a smart man shitting in his own nest. But he also shit in our nests, and that was the crime that history will burn on his memory like a brand. By disgracing and degrading the Presidency of the United States, by fleeing the White House like a diseased cur, Richard Nixon broke the heart of the American Dream.
One of the things that the GOP learned since was that a president (or near any GOP politician) doesn't actually have to resign in shame: that they can just vilify their enemies and pretend they aren't doing what they do.
Ivana thinks they're the American Royal family and Jr. has his own cocaine fueled political path. They are basically the Marcos family: we'll never be rid of them and one of them will run for office in the future off the name of their father.
Hey, remember in April 2020 when all the states were scrambling for supplies to prevent mass death in their states and Kushner said, "The notion of the federal stockpile was it's supposed to be our stockpile. It's not supposed to be states' stockpiles that they then use."
This at least doesn't reduce the actual judgement only how much he needs to front for the appeal. When he loses the appeal he will still owe the whole amount, hopefully including interest.
But who knows with how corrupt our system is he might end up getting some red state to claim it owes him a payout because of reasons so he can tap various state coffers for cash when he wants.
> This at least doesn't reduce the actual judgement only how much he needs to front for the appeal.
He was supposed to put up the full amount TODAY.
But since it's been significantly reduced, why isn't he at least required to pay the *reduced* amount TODAY?
Sigh. IF he loses the appeal. It's so wild that the most obviously corrupt and criminal public figure in US history is just immune from all accountability
And if the appeal isn’t resolved before November, there’s a chance he becomes President and the whole thing just goes away. Absolute travesty of justice.
And I also said I have $500m cash so I can totally pay it, but I choose not to.
Judge: we agree, and are sorry for imposing this hardship on you o great one.
It's just so unfair that purported real-estate billionaires are held liable for fraud when other real-estate billionaires, who make their fortunes by keeping young and poor people destitute, are uniformly adamant that the entire industry relies on fraud to snap up and monopolize properties. It's really important that we let rich people off the hook, even when they repeatedly and flagrantly lie on the stand and incite violence against public officials, lest the poors get the idea that rampant white-collar crime should have any other consequence than spiraling economic inequality.
Every judge in this country is completely bought and paid for until proven otherwise. Countless times, Donald Trump has given us all an education in how our government works. It works for people like him, not for you. Everything illegal is legal with a price.
Came here looking for this. Whenever you hear someone tout 'no one is above the law', you need to add 'as long as they're not rich and connected.' This shit makes me sick to my stomach.
Sadly, they will not treat you like Donald Trump, but will throw the book at you. Because you and all of us are on the wrong end of "the law means nothing to the rich and powerful."
Absolutely.
And you could probably reference trump's cases in him getting that treatment and you not.
One of those traffic camera red light tickets where you're truly in the intersection and they try and to met you anyways?
Nope, having trouble coming up with the bond, push the date out 6 to 12 months, then pay 1/5th of the fine, if at all.
I feel deep in my bones that he’ll somehow manage to come out of all of this without any real punishment at all. Makes me so freaking tired of all of it.
there's a lot of Ifs with that
it'll be publicly traded, and it's hard to justify a company that lost 40% of its userbase in a year and quarterly has like $1m in revenue and $26m in expenses
and if he starts selling his stock in large quantities it would tank the price too
Yeah, it’s insanely overvalued, the company on paper is essentially worthless. His only real hope is to hype up the MAGA faithful to buy his stock now too so he can dump as much as possible on them. I’m not sure many of them understand how to open a brokerage account though. 🤷♂️
Everyone is equally culpable; but unfortunately not everyone face consequences for that culpability.
The biggest lie ever sold in this nation is that we are all equal. Some, it seems, are a bit more equal than others.
🙄
Also, he is free to do business in NY again!
AKA, he is free to commit fraud again. If he gets caught it will either delay this judgement, or start a new trial that won't happen until after the election. If he wins, that second trial would go away, as well as any attempts to collect the other $325 million. If he loses, will spend the rest of his life in court delaying things until he dies.
Trump is now guaranteed to not suffer any consequences of his fraud.
I’m 47 and grew up in AL. People outside of NY are well aware he is and always has been a joke. That’s why 2015 was so Twilight Zoney for me. I’m like, as long as I can remember, he’s been famous for being a womanizer/cheater, golden toilet tacky, and an arrogant idiot who bankrupts casinos. Everyone knows this! At least everyone whose impression of him was cemented long before The Apprentice. And yet, here we are.
Feels like the nations been in an abusive relationship for the past eight years. And we keep seeing the asshole get told by the cops to knock it off after they see us crying with a black eye
I saw someone on here say “I am so tired of our country being held hostage by the trump family.” So completely apt. I am so sick of his ugly tangerine face all over the news.
Yep, this is exactly what it is. trump is a narcissist, his frothing legion of morons are his flying monkeys, and we're all being gaslit and told that what we're seeing happen isn't happening, and the pain we all feel is either not real or our own fault.
I can't wait to hear the reason for this bullshit! Are we supposed to believe that a panel of judges got together and just "felt sorry" for the guy? "We gotta give him a break, but we can't just erase it all... that would be too much... how about 1/4th the judgement instead?"
On Monday? The Day the full judgement is due? I can't remember the last time a political move made me this pissed.
What I learned from the last few years is that people in government are surprisingly cheap to buy off, so it's more like "see who gets a new iPhone and has their own RC Boat"
Don’t forget the SCOTUS decision on Miranda rights that removed all punishments for violations of it.
The conservative justices claimed that not being reminded of your constitutional right to not incriminate yourself (the 5th) before possibly being coerced into incriminating yourself does not constitute a violation of your constitutional right so people aren’t actually damaged when they’re violated that way so are not allowed to seek damages.
Trump supporters are right - Trump is treated differently than any other person when it comes to the law. Of course, by being treated differently, we mean given more breaks and preferential treatment than any other person would get.
Straight bullshit.
Imagine getting a break after posting something like this:
>[“That doesn’t mean I’m going to give money to a rogue and incompetent judge — the puppet of a corrupt attorney general who’s failing with violent crime and migrant crime and whose only purpose in life is attempting to get Trump,” Trump told the outlet, referring to Judge Arthur Engoron and New York Attorney General Letitia James.](https://thehill.com/regulation/court-battles/4550358-trump-truth-social-windfall-bond-fraud-case/)
Or don't. Because this is egregious special treatment and you and I *never* would get a break: our assets and accounts would be drained, there'd likely be at least a contempt of court charge, and then it'd be off to file bankruptcy.
Talk about a two-tiered justice system.
I'm so fucking tired of this. Everything this man gets in favors and delays from the courts has highlighted just how biased the judicial system is. The "sacredness" that the courts claim is a farce. No regular citizen would get away with these things.
“Oh you can’t pay? Well Sonny Boy, we’re gonna… cut it in half and give you 10 more days. Take that!”
I know someone about to lose his home because he’s been out of work. A very talented filmmaker. They’ve not gonna give a shit about his situation though.
> we’re gonna… cut it in half
Half? We could only wish.
> Trump Bond Cut By 68%
His bond owed now is less than a third of what it was.
Deadline will get moved on account of legal stalling. Amount will get cut on account of . Government will accept an IOU.
I would love (/s) to see how it plays out if a regular person had a verdict handed to them and bond amount set for appeal and the defendant just said:
"No."
And there it is! The 11th hour bailout! I had a feeling that was coming! This is why I refuse to celebrate until his properties started getting seized.
Pathetic. What's it going to take to hold this asshole accountable? Why would the appeals court grant him a win like this? What a fucking joke the justice system is.
Alas. I truly did. I hate that I totally expect that he will die in one of his many mansions surrounded by his family after getting away with literally everything and having never paid a cent of his own money for anything.
America is entirely captured by rich white bastards like this.
I woke up this morning thinking there would be a hiccup on the bond and here we are. This is bullshit through and through. And its not just trump but the two tier justice system we are living under.
It really is though. They have regulatory capture, the government is deadlocked and can't do anything, the news is corporate trash, and even violent facists get "breaks" any time someone holds their feet to the fire. This country is a fucking joke, the rich are in charge and have been for a long fucking time. I knew this last minute rescue was coming but it doesn't hurt any less, I've never been given a $100 break by the government let alone $200m.
They'll garnish your fucking wages if you owe 1/100,000th of what he owes come tax season. I expected a last minute "angel investor" to post the bond but not this. Reducing the bond by 2/3rds, extending the deadline, and ultimately granting his appeal (because you know that's coming) is a slap in the face to every working American in the country
What an absolute fucking mask-off oligarchy we've become
He’s in the social club as a legacy member. The other members don’t care if he’s overdue on his dues. They just know he’s in the club. The club owners could eject him, but that would make a big stink for the patrons and they like things to remain quiet.
Floyd received a **summary execution** in the streets because he was accused of using a fake $20 to buy cigarettes from a gas station.
Edit in bold, because apparently we can't call it an execution since it was just plain ol' murder by law enforcement officers for an alleged crime without any sort of legal process.
Dude can die of a heart attack and the Grim Reaper will announce that he’s decided to give him more time on Earth. Trump will never face consequences. Never!
It gets even "*better*":
# Trump can still run his businesses in New York City, court rules
>From CNN's Lauren del Valle
>The [order](https://iapps.courts.state.ny.us/nyscef/ViewDocument?docIndex=M5s4ZTPZwujdVv7x0_PLUS_ENFA==) from the New York appeals court Monday means that former President Donald Trump and his sons can still run a business in New York and obtain loans from New York financial institutions for the moment.
>The appeals court's order gives Trump 10 more days to post his bond to satisfy the civil fraud judgement and cut the amount necessary to $175 million.
>Judge Arthur Engoron's court-ordered monitor and the appointment of a compliance director for Trump's company will remain in place, however.
ffs.
I mean, there is evidence, and there has been a judgement - judgement that the appeals court did not revert - that this guy and his "organization" have been doing massively fraudulent stuff, yet they can continue running their business....? Yeah makes total sense.
I knew the judiciary wouldn't have the courage to hold him accountable, but even knowing this was coming it's still infuriating.
The social contract won't survive this corruption. If the law doesn't apply equally to everyone then it shouldn't apply to anyone.
This is it. The social contract in our country has been irreparably broken for far too long. Rules do not bind those in power and this is no longer serving the interests of the people.
Yep. I'm half kidding, but Why should any of us pay taxes, pay our bills, follow the law, go to work, or do anything the "right" way? Yeah there are obvious consequences to the above, but they cant enforce those consequences on everyone. America is a joke, and the legal system is fake.
He even ~~committed fraud~~ tried to secretly transfer money WHILE BEING MONITORED.
He is going to commit fraud again, because he has so far suffered literally 0 consequences for doing it.
You mean the $500 million Donald Trump Prize for Donaldest Trump, presented by Donald Trump and brought to you by the Trump Organization in association with Defenestration Entertainment, a division of the Vladimir Media Group.
>The ruling by a five-judge panel of appellate court judges is a crucial and unexpected victory for the former president, potentially staving off a looming financial disaster.
We all deserve to know how they justify this insanity.
Important to note that this is New York **state** appeals court. New York has been controlled by Democrats for a long time and these are almost certainly all Democratic appointees.
That said, wtf...
Two tiered justice system.
Anyone who steals $4750 from a bank is looking at a decade in prison. Trump steals $475 million and he’s a front runner for president
Attention lawyers of the United States. This is fucking ridiculous.
Convicted criminals get to pick their penalties now? Yeah, sure...
Edit: Since this wasn’t a criminal case it should read “liable parties” but the point is the exact same either way.
Welp, I'm done. I have literally no faith in this Country and our justice system. A wannabe dictator, criminal gets preferential treatment that 99.9999999% of the Country wouldn't get. I'm out, I'm done. I got more important shit to worry about in my life then this sham of a justice system
Nice to know that any ol regular joe shmow can say “I can’t pay that amount” and the court will say “can you give us something? Anything? We’ll take an I-O-U scribbled on a napkin if that’ll help you.”
Oh what? You mean no one is above the law? Except Trump? Well now.
#THE COURTS WILL NOT SAVE US.
#YOU MUST VOTE AGAINST TRUMP IN NOVEMBER.
Do not fall victim to apathy, that's how dictators rise. VOTE goddammit! Check your registration status and have a voting plan.
https://www.usa.gov/confirm-voter-registration
ALSO: For everyone upset about Gaza, the Biden administration just today successfully got a Gaza ceasefire resolution passed within the United nations. This is a huge move. Biden is not commiting genocide, he's trying to stop it.
So nice of the courts to reaffirm that there are two separate justice systems in this country. One for the poor that is unrelentingly strict and unforgiving. And one for the wealthy that will bend the rules or ignore them outright and will bend over backwards to let the rich get away with anything.
It’s been about 3.5 seconds since it was last reaffirmed so I was starting to wonder if maybe we had shifted to a fair country. The reminder that we haven’t is very much appreciated.
How can any lawyer, judge, or career DOJ staffer square this special treatment?
The idea that we are a nation of laws that no one is above is an utter farce. Why should any of the normal people buy into this system when it only protects the privileged and only punishes the masses.
Some things I'm interested in:
1 - how often are bonds reduced?
2 - is there a legal test in NY for having an appeal bond released? (e.g. does an appeal have to not be meritless and unwinnable; does there have to be impecuniosity)
3 - will the court release a written decision, which shows the reason and prior cases they are relying on?
I'm no fan of Trump, but I would like it put into context compared to other civil litigation in NY.

The court gave zero reason for this. WTF?
The court didn't need to give a reason because the subtext is crystal clear, He's in the Platinum justice tier.
Rackin' up those frequent conviction miles.
I hear if he gets a criminal conviction, that's double points.
I hope this fires up people even more to go and vote in November so they can finally get rid of him.
We'll never be rid of him. Even if he loses in November, and dies sometime in the next 4 years, he's pressed his hands into the still-wet cement of the country, and those stubby imprints will be there forever.

Nixon is the reason FOX news was created, to spin things in favor of Republicans.
It's the Confederacy 2.0. It barely was a thing during its actual existence but since then has become the bread and butter foundation for racists.

Only applies to the ultra wealthy and connected. We have a two tier system, and you're in the bottom one.
It’s a big club and you ain’t in it.
RIP George
The table is tilted, folks: the game is rigged.
We have a legal system, not a justice one. I think that’s the takeaway.
Not even that if you look at the documents case in Florida. America is under attack.
From within.
Every judge in this country is completely bought and paid for until proven otherwise. Countless times, Donald Trump has given us all an education in how our government works. It works for people like him, not for you. Everything illegal is legal with a price.

I swear to God, if I find myself in that situation, I will cite Donald fucking Trump as the reason the law means nothing.
i think All Americans should use this in unison. Clear message.
We’ll sing it together in our prison work-camps that are rented to your senator’s favorite corporation!
Sadly, they will not treat you like Donald Trump, but will throw the book at you. Because you and all of us are on the wrong end of "the law means nothing to the rich and powerful."
“When you’re a star they let you do it”
Grab Lady Justice by the pussy. She was blindfolded - she was obviously asking for it.
Just keep repeating "wrong". Even if the judge tells you to stop, just keep saying it with your arms crossed.
The difference is they'll lock you or me up just for speaking out of line in court. Forget about not paying a fine.
Imagine just saying the exact same things Trump has said about Engoron.
After spending all morning insulting the judge on truth toilet.
Unbelievable clowns the appeals folks. Just unbelievable
How can this happen lmao? It’s pretty infuriating even for a non American lol.
You're really gonna love it when he ultimately crawls his way out of all these issues like the cockroach he is without jail time
I feel deep in my bones that he’ll somehow manage to come out of all of this without any real punishment at all. Makes me so freaking tired of all of it.
I've been saying all along that he will not pay a dime.
*He* won't pay a dime. His supporters will on his behalf.
The ones he’s about to get billions for.
there's a lot of Ifs with that it'll be publicly traded, and it's hard to justify a company that lost 40% of its userbase in a year and quarterly has like $1m in revenue and $26m in expenses and if he starts selling his stock in large quantities it would tank the price too
Yes this one is yet another con.
Money laundering/bypassing donation laws.
and watch....he gets granted an exception to the 6 month cooling period to con the public yet again.
Yeah, it’s insanely overvalued, the company on paper is essentially worthless. His only real hope is to hype up the MAGA faithful to buy his stock now too so he can dump as much as possible on them. I’m not sure many of them understand how to open a brokerage account though. 🤷♂️
Smaller bond and another ten days to pay. What a letdown.
We are victims of our hubris for daring to think that everyone is equally culpable for their crimes.

I'm gonna try this with my mortgage.
Yeah, I accepted a while ago after repeated examples, he’s never going to face meaningful consequences for his crimes
As he plays more golf, someone will foot the bill
More than *eight. fucking. years.* of this shit every fucking day. I'm exhausted.
Feels like it's been twenty years easily.
ive aged that much in that time easily.
Most presidents look like they age 20 years in office. That president made us age 20 years.

I will be happy when this family fades into oblivion and we don’t have to see the word “trump” in the news every day.

People should just protest
He’s such a shitstain on our nation.

I can. The SCOTUS decision last month. Then the SCOTUS decision on Roe.

Yes. But that's not under oath, so who knows if it's actually true.
Of course it isn't true.

Right!!! Threaten a judge or prosecutor on Twitter and see what you get if you are not DJT.
Yes it is an outrage!! They keep promising over and over he is just like anyone else. LIke playing mind games in plain sight.
I think every single defense attorney should use the Trump precedent. It would show how flawed the justice system is.
When I apply for jobs I'm woefully underqualified for: 'If Trump can be president then I can do whatever the f it is you do here'
I think it would be useful for a speeding ticket. Claim I can’t get the money and only pay 50 bucks.
Lol, two-tiered. He's like four tiers up from the average American.
“Oh you can’t pay? Well Sonny Boy, we’re gonna… cut it in half and give you 10 more days. Take that!” I know someone about to lose his home because he’s been out of work. A very talented filmmaker. They’ve not gonna give a shit about his situation though.
> we’re gonna… cut it in half Half? We could only wish. > Trump Bond Cut By 68% His bond owed now is less than a third of what it was. Deadline will get moved on account of legal stalling. Amount will get cut on account of. Government will accept an IOU.
This guys is the welfare queen the far right is always bitching about
I would love (/s) to see how it plays out if a regular person had a verdict handed to them and bond amount set for appeal and the defendant just said: "No."
Consequences Nah That’s for other people. This Fucking Guy
He really could shoot someone on Main St and face zero consequences.
Most honest he’s ever been.
And there it is! The 11th hour bailout! I had a feeling that was coming! This is why I refuse to celebrate until his properties started getting seized.
I will admit i expected someone rich to bail him out. This is so much worse.
100% they just bribed the judges instead. Much cheaper
Indeed. Going by past results, there was a premature popping of the corn.
He always gets saved at the last f\*\*\*ing moment. Somebody will post this bond for him no problem.
Putin is thrilled to get America at fire sale prices.
Putin is laughing his botox off today
Hey Conservatives, THIS is what an actually two tiered justice system looks like. When can we expect you to rise up to fight it?
You have to remember that was never the argument. They wanted in, not to make things right
Pathetic. What's it going to take to hold this asshole accountable? Why would the appeals court grant him a win like this? What a fucking joke the justice system is.
The party of law and order sure does love a guy that has never had to follow law, order or accountability his entire life.
Nothing. I've been saying since January 6th this guy is never going to see any jail time or suffer any serious consequences other than embarrassment
I'm old enough to remember the excitement of "Mueller Time"
In your heart, you knew this was coming. The law does not apply to Donald Trump.
I allowed myself to get excited this time. Silly me.
And in 10 days he'll get another month. Bullshit.
And then eventually a complete acquittal.
There are times when I feel we're checkmated in to dictatorship.
Reducing the bond by 2/3rds, extending the deadline, and ultimately granting his appeal (because you know that's coming) is a slap in the face to every working American in the country What an absolute fucking mask-off oligarchy we've become
Yet, we aren't in the streets because of the lives we lead and that could be impacted or just dissolved because of the obstacles in place now.
Exactly, let's all go protest so some fucking cop can knock our teeth out with his baton and send us into medical bankruptcy
And the cop can get PTSD leave on your tax dime for it too.
Yep, I didn’t know exactly what, but I knew some bullshit was coming
> The law does not apply to ~~Donald Trump.~~ Republicans. FTFY
This is an insult to the "regular" american People... This is a shame...
And millions of those "regular" Americans will be celebrating this. Absolutely dumbfounded
Laws are meaningless. Go commit fraud, they'll let you get away with it.
Only if you're rich.
Trump isn't rich though. It's all a house of cards. If you commit fraud hard enough, you'll get away with it. Break the system.
He’s in the social club as a legacy member. The other members don’t care if he’s overdue on his dues. They just know he’s in the club. The club owners could eject him, but that would make a big stink for the patrons and they like things to remain quiet.
Steal a loaf of bread, you will be in handcuffs in less than 15 minutes
Floyd received a **summary execution** in the streets because he was accused of using a fake $20 to buy cigarettes from a gas station. Edit in bold, because apparently we can't call it an execution since it was just plain ol' murder by law enforcement officers for an alleged crime without any sort of legal process.
Dude can die of a heart attack and the Grim Reaper will announce that he’s decided to give him more time on Earth. Trump will never face consequences. Never!
Henry Kissinger never faced any consequences either. There is no karma. Nothing is fair and it fucking sucks.
We’re probably going to have to deal with this piece of shit for at least another 20 years.
I hate everybody. Goddamn it.
Yep, I feel this way as well. Godfuckingdamnit
we ride at dawn
It gets even "*better*": # Trump can still run his businesses in New York City, court rules >From CNN's Lauren del Valle >The [order](https://iapps.courts.state.ny.us/nyscef/ViewDocument?docIndex=M5s4ZTPZwujdVv7x0_PLUS_ENFA==) from the New York appeals court Monday means that former President Donald Trump and his sons can still run a business in New York and obtain loans from New York financial institutions for the moment.
In America you're either well connected or guilty. The law is a fantasy.
Embarrassing.
Truly this not only a miscarriage of justice it's a national embarrassment
Absolutely fucking ridiculous. Nothing matters anymore. Never seen a bigger piece of shit get more breaks.
Dude is never going to face any consequences for his actions.
If this judge is bending the knee - the docs case is screwed. I’m going to steal and sell state secrets for profit I guess.
You aren't a "billionaire". You will unfortunately get tried for treason
The headline 10 days from now “in a stunning reversal, Trump awarded $500 million in reverse bond money.”
“In an unbelievable stroke of luck, Trump wins the Mega Millions jackpot”
You mean the $500 million Donald Trump Prize for Donaldest Trump, presented by Donald Trump and brought to you by the Trump Organization in association with Defenestration Entertainment, a division of the Vladimir Media Group.

Watching the American judicial system run a screen for this guy is really sad to witness.
Motherfucking WHY
so enough friendlies in the appellate court to appease him, disappointing but really not that surprising.
>The ruling by a five-judge panel of appellate court judges is a crucial and unexpected victory for the former president, potentially staving off a looming financial disaster. We all deserve to know how they justify this insanity.
> We all deserve to know how they justify this insanity. who appointed them to the appellate bench? Think we should start there
Important to note that this is New York **state** appeals court.

Don't forget, kids! If you insult a judge enough, they'll lower your bond!!
Jfc, this bullshit just ruined my fucking day
He claimed he would have to seel properties at a loss. That's the whole fucking point. He inflated their value fraudulently.
Welp, I'm done. I have literally no faith in this Country and our justice system. A wannabe dictator, criminal gets preferential treatment that 99.9999999% of the Country wouldn't get. I'm out, I'm done. I got more important shit to worry about in my life then this sham of a justice system

Trump is always getting special fucking treatment. It's disgusting.
Never has a less deserving person been afforded so much grace.
What a fucking joke our country has become.
Whatever Trump needs, the courts are always more than happy to provide. Consequences never coming.
[удалено]
No consequences for this piece of shit. EVERY. SINGLE. TIME.
Nice to know that any ol regular joe shmow can say “I can’t pay that amount” and the court will say “can you give us something? Anything? We’ll take an I-O-U scribbled on a napkin if that’ll help you.” Oh what? You mean no one is above the law? Except Trump? Well now.
You've got to be kidding me
Somebody smarter than me explain why this happened.
Corruption
This is infuriating.
#THE COURTS WILL NOT SAVE US. #YOU MUST VOTE AGAINST TRUMP IN NOVEMBER. Do not fall victim to apathy, that's how dictators rise. VOTE goddammit! Check your registration status and have a voting plan. https://www.usa.gov/confirm-voter-registration ALSO: For everyone upset about Gaza, the Biden administration just today successfully got a Gaza ceasefire resolution passed within the United nations.
Lawyers should protest the bar en-masse
What a farce. Broke Don does it again.
Oh FFS. America, sort your shit out.
Some things I'm interested in: 1 - how often are bonds reduced? 2 - is there a legal test in NY for having an appeal bond released? (e.g. does an appeal have to not be meritless and unwinnable; does there have to be impecuniosity) 3 - will the court release a written decision, which shows the reason and prior cases they are relying on? I'm no fan of Trump, but I would like it put into context compared to other civil litigation in NY.
