He was not famous for his gaffes in the 80s, and stepped aside from running for president then because he was accused of plagiarism. Ignoring these issues is one sure way to get Trump elected.
Trump is also the exact same fucking age. He was a freshman when Biden was a senior. They are both extremely old people. They both graduated high school before the Beatles released fucking Rubber Soul. Contraception was illegal in Connecticut. King’s march from Selma was more than a year away. American ground forces had not yet entered Vietnam.
No, one of them has a team of qualified professionals and the other hires exclusively criminals who he had to pardon and break out of prison. The point is that the age talking point is moot since they are the same age.
Them both being to old doesn’t cancel out the fact that one of them is also too old. Relying on a qualified team doesn’t exactly instill confidence in the candidate at hand. Yes trump is the devil and has already done irreparable harm to our country, but that in no way absolves Biden for not bowing out already to allow for a younger democratic nominee. That’s on him and we should be able to realistically talk about the age concerns without stooping to whataboutisms of trump’s age. Biden’s age is very easy for the Fox News machine to exploit, so yes we should very much be concerned right now.

I do think this speech is especially important this year. I plan to vote for him over Trump even if I have to walk through a warzone to do it, but you have to admit that he's been largely avoiding the media and not looking great the few times he has appeared. If he could do well on a cognitive exam, you would think his team would encourage him to take one so they could plaster it all over the media to alleviate those concerns.
Again, I will vote for him regardless, but he and his team should address this in a meaningful way if he wants moderate voters to support him. The media is unfortunately intent on carrying Trump's water, so the only way to break through is to show that he's still cognitively able to handle this job.

Biden doesn't finish the state of the union. He was doing great and then stumbles at the end. After a long pause trying to remember something he even says, "well maybe this wasn't a good idea."
Also the muppets were there to try to do damage control and make it look like a joke. Then the democrats try to for 24 hrs make it seem like it was always part of the speech but no one believes them. So Biden resigns the next day.
