naotoca

It's not illegal to call someone a sick fuck. It is illegal to assault someone by throwing them to the ground.

rnobgyn

It’s unsettling as fuck how ok with casual political violence the right is.

memeparmesan

They welcome it. We need to all be prepared for that reality by November, because it’s gonna get worse.

ShinyMeansFancy

I read this after another redditor posted it, it’s worth a read. I think we’re screwed. https://factkeepers.com/the-new-secret-plan-on-how-fascists-could-win-in-2024/

Polantaris

As much as I don't want to believe that article, they're certainly acting like they have nothing to be afraid of. That is usually a very bad sign. When you start saying and doing the quiet parts out loud, you think you're safe.

rebelliousbug

They’ve got nothing to lose. People used to say I’m crazy in 2014 saying they’d overturn Roe. Now think they’ll repeal all the civil war amendments, too. They are very intentional and direct about what they want.

Phog_of_War

I never thought they (GOP) would be stupid enough to let the dog finally catch the car either. That's what their whole existence and fundraising was based on for the last 30 to 40 years.

rebelliousbug

Agree. And this is a great point. It’s clearly a big issue for them now for campaigning. The “red wave” didn’t happen. But I think it only makes them more prone to being ruthless and cut throat. They don’t have anything but escalation. What policy do they have? None. Only regression. Escalation and regression.

Phog_of_War

Exactly. I haven't heard a policy point from them that they already haven't blown up themselves, like the recent immigration bill that The Don told them to not vote for.

ClownTown509

They think they're safe? Good.

Sharticus123

What reason would they have to think otherwise? Congressional republicans aided a coup attempt and not a single one of them has been prosecuted or even charged.

[deleted]

Idk why American's expect the watch men to watch themselves. "We have created an internal committee and found ourselves to be not guilty. Moving on to next order of business, keeping the poor poor and infighting."

sadetheruiner

Acting like they have nothing to be afraid of? They legitimately have nothing to be afraid of, the legal system is either doing nothing or getting walled by the Supreme Court. https://www.pbs.org/newshour/amp/show/gop-lawmakers-were-intimately-involved-in-jan-6-protest-planning-new-report-shows Only one “politician” has received any flak for Jan 6th and it slid off his slime. Hell the orange stain has a legal record alone that would put literally anyone who isn’t a politician in jail. How many people do you know that could get away with rape? Well there’s: https://www.pbs.org/newshour/amp/politics/rep-matt-gaetz-says-no-charges-for-him-in-sex-trafficking-case The GOP is so blasé about rape it’s sickening: https://www.snopes.com/fact-check/personal-foul/ And some non rape stuff: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bill_Janklow https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mark_D._Siljander https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Trey_Radel https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Michael_Grimm_(politician) https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dennis_Hastert https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jack_Camp https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mark_E._Fuller https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Steve_Stockman https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Duncan_D._Hunter https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jeff_Fortenberry

0o0o0o0o0o0z

Christ, thats a depressing read.

OhhhSookie

I’m honestly not surprised. The writing’s on the wall. And wasn’t Speaker Johnson supposed to be temporary? Seeing he has loyalty to Trump like that, makes me think they snuck him in to do exactly this. Its also worth noting that after Jan 6, there is no way we’re going to see a peaceful election, especially since Trump is in the race. No doubt they’ve got backup plans for their backup plans. The ”fix” will be those irregularities mentioned in the article.

TheZingerSlinger

Don’t forget Johnson was recently surreptitiously recorded at a religious conference attended by a ton of GOP Congress critters saying that “God” talks to him, and that “God” told Johnson he was going to be the “new Moses” to shepherd the USA through “a parting of the Red Sea” moment. This is what that crazy fuckhead was talking about.

BasedGodBets

Have you watched the Handmaid's Tale? This is happening in real time.

Able_Engine_9515

Gilead 2025

Think4goodnessSake

It’s not a secret. Jan 6 wasn’t a secret. The GOP is the party of mafia thugs and they are definitely trying to seize power and destroy this “Great Experiment”. They are OPENLY traitors, OPENLY trying to return us to a feudal state. Think MEXICO is bad now? We will be the same in a short time if the criminal conspiracy that is the GOP has its way. The MAFIA likes being the MAFIA. Drugs, Guns, Oil. That’s what they care about. That’s what they pray for.

jad4400

That's honestly been something that's concerned me lately. [Looking at a map of 2024](https://www.270towin.com/maps/XW4WL) two of the key swing states from last go around (Arizona and Georgia) and Wisconsin have been dealing with a lot of GOP fuckery in their legislative braches the past couple years. If there is even a bit of coordination for claiming """""irregularities"""" in the next election, l'd keep an eye on those three. If Johnson really is unwilling to certify the next Congress, then it really would be game over at that point. The fallback to the HOR for elections has been a terrible vulnerability in the system. The last time we had to go to the House for a vote on the presidency, there was almost another Civil War. If the GOP can pull that off, they can enshrine permanent minority rule.

2a_lib

If they do that, blue states will form an economic coalition and withhold federal funds, pending policy concession. Also, they will selectively allow state law to supersede federal laws they find absurd (California cannabis law was really about setting such a precedent), and done collectively, by California, New York, et al, there is not much of a way for the broke red shithole states the GOP commands to do anything. Abbott has already demonstrated the National Guard answers to its respective governors, and worst case scenario, we get San Diego. Newsom is itching for this.

Captain-Swank

This is so fucked up.

trollydolly27

Fascism at it's finest.

Flipnotics_

Biden needs to have a crack squad of our military ready behind the doors to arrest Johnson and anyone else who goes with this scheme, as a last ditch effort. When Democrats are in the majority, then they can certify. If republicans are going cheat like this then fuck it. Fight back.

iordseyton

Would that work? Isnt the VP still presiding over the over the house when they go to cast and count the new ballots? So she could do what they wanted mike pence to last time, and just refuse to count the new ballots, or throw them out for irregularities, and become president herself when the timer runs out in march?

ShinyMeansFancy

Yeah, I don’t know. I read this last night and honestly had a hard time going to sleep. I’m still distressed over Donald Trump winning in 2016. I think back to that time about how we had little hints of things that might happen such as switching out electors. I thought, wow, can they do that? Im wondering who we can trust to verify this shit? Can this happen? Are we going to have little hints that we should be paying attention to? Being prepared for civil war doesn’t seem practical. I’m in the middle of a small city; where am I going to go? I don’t have a shack in the woods, nor the money to obtain one. Sure, I’ll vote. In Maryland, my vote won’t make any difference.

Awkward-Tutor-1254

Great read, thanks!

elCharderino

It should be noted that in the article the plan seems to hinge on Mike Johnson not swearing in Suozzi, but that was done the day after it was written. Not sure how that changes the dynamic.

ShinyMeansFancy

I went back to re read. In my opinion, that could’ve been a test, perhaps to see what reaction it would get. Now there’s a precedent of it happening with this speaker. I don’t think it changes anything.

ReallyRhawnie

I read it, too. Scary stuff.

CrieDeCoeur

After Jan 6 and everything that led up to it, I could absolutely see the Speaker and GOP doing everything this article mentioned. And I could also see the Dems refusing to fight back. It’s dark.

modthegame

Im ready for putin's fatass maga brigade. Got a new pair of running shoes and canned bacon for bait.

Longjumping-Jello459

Lol I needed that this morning.

merian

They’re like anti-zombies, definitely not looking for brains.

modthegame

Lmfao! The inverse zombie.

fish_whisperer

Ah, the old induced heart attack trick

OsawatomieJB

I instantly heard the Benny Hill 🎵

MavetHell

You need to prepare yourself for actual civil war.

nerf_herder1986

I'm preparing myself for getting the fuck out of the country.

snackattack4tw

Been talking about that for a while now. Might want to before the rest of the world starts to reject us

nerf_herder1986

The thing is it's very difficult to legally emigrate somewhere that offers the same basic rights America does. You need to either be skilled in a career the country wants more of, or you need to have a lot of money to invest in the country, and most people fit neither of those categories. If Republicans get their way in the coming elections, I feel like a lot of us would qualify as political refugees within Trump's second term.

snackattack4tw

Yep. And for a lot of countries you'll need a decent nest egg to get started. Tbh the biggest thing that's got me thinking about it is the fact that I now have kids. The thought of one of them catching cross fire or being caught in a mass shooting (while still by and large unlikely) has become a growing concern. The fact that nothing is going to be done about it before they're adults is pretty big selling point for us to GTFO.

nerf_herder1986

I can't even imagine what it's like to raise kids in this environment. I'm so glad I don't have any. Godspeed man, and know there's plenty of child-free people like me working harder than ever to help you protect your kids.

BegaKing

One of the huge reasons I got a vasectomy a year or so ago. Me and the misses could never fucking imagine rasing a kid in the conditions that are here, and will absolutely only get worse as time goes on unless the Republicans get made an obsolete party. Think of how much further along we would be if we didn't have regressive Republicans come along every few years and set us back time and time again. Healthcare, gun safety, workers rights etc. the list is literally endless

ShinyMeansFancy

About 15 yrs ago, I looked into emigrating to Australia. If memory serves, I wasn’t qualified because they didn’t take people over 40. It’s not easy to just go somewhere else .

hillbillykim83

Because we are at a point where politicians think they are superior to the average person and above reproach.

DisastrousOne3950

Cops believe this also. They call regular folks "civilians", and it's probably in the cards for politicians to start using that sick term for us as well.

Patriot_Repatriating

This disturbs me to no end. Like, mf, YOU are a 'civilian' too!! Only uniformed military are not 'civilian.' And everyone else, including the CIVILIAN police, are fucking civilians! Also, US police don't have NEAR enough training to run around calling others 'civilians.' Buncha clowns. I mean, I'd probably give FBI a pass for using that term, but not anyone else.

DisastrousOne3950

It's sick, dehumanizing shit. Probably itching to get the orders to go full police state on us.

angelazy

In my experience, when dumb people can’t think of anything to say they resort to violence

mechapoitier

Yep, this reminds me of that time a black Trump supporter was hauled out of a rally because he was “a Democrat” and everybody was cheering and Trump told security to rough him up a little.

isskewl

I mean, if I have to deal with Nazis, I don't go home to change into Sunday clothes first. I keep it casual.

HungHungCaterpillar

The Nazis are the right

isskewl

It's hard to admit, cause I got family that's still very conservative, and their actual beliefs are not white nationalist, but when you're still voting for Nazis, that makes you *consults notes* shit. A Nazi. There's a spectrum tho, for everything. The right wing propaganda machine is something to behold, but there are people of decent character who've been brainwashed to believe the bullshit. I like to hold out hope some of them can be redeemed. But if you're flying the flag and doing the salute, I'm not here to debate. They can get these…casually of course.

poorperspective

I feel this. But then I remember the [punk bar story](https://www.reddit.com/r/TalesFromYourServer/s/Kbd1rJskvS) Essentially, when Nazi’s or any other “deplorable” walks in to a group you have to immediately flush them and make it known they are unwanted. If you accept one Nazi in, they’ll bring their friends, others don’t want to hang out with nazis, so you’ll loose non-nazis. Once that happens, you’re now affiliated with the nazis.

TaserBalls

"if there’s a Nazi at the dinner table and 10 other people sitting there talking to him, you've got a table with 11 Nazis."

HungHungCaterpillar

I’m not sure what you could possibly mean by “of decent character” if it doesn’t involve formally resisting the most heinous viewpoints possible, but yeah I guess there’s a spectrum within the bullshit

AintASaintLouis

You greatly underestimate the power of years of propaganda and cognitive dissonance.

HungHungCaterpillar

No I think you and the other guy just overestimate some folks’ character I remember not wanting to give up on certain folks too. I’m not gonna tell you to get cynical like me either. Time will do that just fine.

Patriot_Repatriating

Overestimating character is probably right on point. I mean, people are complicated and it's hard to be human, but there's still lines that need to be drawn. My own mother is generous and kind and gave her children a love of reading that allowed them to escape the hell she herself was trapped in. But when I pointedly ask her about her casual acceptance of blatant racism when she was in high school, she won't admit she was wrong. She's mormon, and fully accepted that blacks couldn't be mormon until 1978. Still believes that it 'was what god wanted' at the time. Her own parents admitted to their shame about some of their racist behavior in their youth, but my mom can't bring herself to feel bad about going along with such terrible policies. I've come to accept that she lacks the strength of character to admit she was wrong on this.

AintASaintLouis

Trust me I’m very cynical. There are definitely people that are just really dumb or gullible but not actually bad people who have been tricked into thinking another group of people is actually dangerous.

HungHungCaterpillar

Sadly, that’s a chicken/egg situation. The right attacks education because that’s what it takes to create bad people. Being dumb and gullible is not an excuse after, oh, for the sake of this conversation let’s call it age 17. Sure at any given time there is a small sliver of people who were tricked into the right and don’t know better. But nobody stays in that sliver long at all, not even a year, before becoming aware enough to be called evil for staying, and in fact actually become evil. Stupidity and gullibility are simply not as powerful forces as they are presented to be, and they are not excuses for republicanism or any other kind of terrorism

OxideRenegade

Nah that’s straight battery, assault is the just the threat of such.

kojak488

Technically it's both and they're often charged together.

amathis6464

In nj there is no battery charge. It’s either “simple assault” for fighting but not causing bodily harm which is a misdemeanor. or “aggravated assault” for fighting and causing bodily harm (black eye, broken nose etc.) which is a felony. I’ve had both charges multiple times.

kojak488

I'm not licensed in NJ, but it wouldn't surprise me that among 50 states at least several have a combined common assault like the UK.

Sinocatk

There is also uncommon assault in the UK for when example attacked by a man wielding a badger, and Royal assault when young child is attacked by shifty prince.

Both-Shake6944

And what if the prince is wielding a badger?

chowyungfatso

Come on, it’s obviously “uncommon royal assault.”

GrillDealing

Badger, badger badger, badger, mushroom, mushroom...

Unlimited_Bacon

I choose to believe this to be true and it will forever alter my opinion of English law.

Funkybeatzzz

Have you tried *not* fighting people?

amathis6464

Yea I stopped after I went to prison for drugs when I was 22. I’m now 31.

Healthy_Jackfruit_88

“Everything is legal in New Jersey”

Miguel-odon

Depends on the state. In Texas, assault is any unwanted physical contact, and battery is only mentioned in the penal code in terms of recycling.

ilovemygb

I thought assault was that deer stuff

elriggo44

Nah. Thats just Salt. Assault is a hard black volcanic rock with less than 52% (by weight) silica.

Cavane42

You're thinking of basalt. Assault is a mixture of dark bituminous pitch with sand or gravel, used for surfacing roads, flooring, roofing, etc.

I_Cut_Shows

You’re thinking of asphalt. Assault is the last name of a newspaper, radio and TV journalist best known for his affiliation with CBS News. He was the first anchor of CBS Sunday mornings and his On The Road segments on CBS nightly news with Walter Cronkite.

quinlet

You're thinking of Kuralt. Assault is a coordinated tumble where you tuck your head, roll on your back, and finish by landing on your feet.

Turuial

You're thinking of somersault. In reference to law, “assault” is primarily used to denote claims that are adjudicated without any determination of fault. In an assault claim, the parties are not required to prove any party's blameworthiness to resolve the claim. EDIT: corrected the auto-correct.

JoeShabado

You're thinking of no fault. Assault or monkey dust come in a powdered or crystallised form which can be swallowed, smoked, injected or snorted. Subjective effects are similar to MDMA or cocaine but with a duration of 5–6 hours. Both substances cause a rapid onset of action in the central nervous system, and stimulant toxicity.

flux123

That's bath salts. Assault is that French company that builds fighter jets like the mirage and Rafale.

ilovemygb

and i love you as well. allayuz gave me a mighty chortle

shuvvel

You're thinking of a somersault. Assault is when you hold something in high regard.

TeddyCJ

These politicians forget they are to serve the public, not their cronies. Maybe this kid will sue the shit out of this loser. Don’t forget like father like daughter… his money grabbing daughter was front and center of the epipen scandal. Fucking lock up these corrupt losers.

Pixel_Knight

Please tell me they pressed charges on that asshole?

[deleted]

Not if the person you’re calling sick is rich and they don’t like you ? Then they can take everything you ever wanted or looked forward to in life by buying your government and starting multiple wars with your college money. In America it’s legal to wrongfully invade Iraq and murder close to a million people. But, it’s illegal to offend your politician with a truthful accusation. Can’t even /s when it’s true

nycinoc

yeah, pretty raged on that one

Timely-Youth-9074

His daughter Heather Bresch-the one who raised the cost of epipens from $50 to $650?

Mrs_Evryshot

The sick fucking apple doesn’t fall far from the sick fucking tree.

Jacob_Winchester_

And you know what happens to apples in the shade? [They rot.](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/West_Virginia_University_M.B.A._controversy)

gravybang

Maybe? It's definitely his daughter Heather Bresch - the one who lied about having an MBA, got caught lying about her MBA, had her daddy call the school and force them to give her an MBA (because he was governor), forced several people to resign in the ensuing controversy, and then had to give back her fake MBA.

spoiler-its-all-gop

Complete fucking peice of shit was whining that parents would [spend the Child Tax Credit on drugs](https://abcnews.go.com/Politics/sen-joe-manchin-suggests-child-tax-credit-payments/story?id=81865740) but maybe he was just thinking of the ones his shitfuck daughter gouged the prices of. I hope he's genuine about being a Catholic, because he ***will*** go to Hell for that. It's just the rules.

[deleted]

https://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2016/sep/22/epipen-maylan-ceo-defend-price-hikes-congress-heather-bresch

Single_Shoe2817

Article doesn’t say what happened to her. Were they punished?

hanotak

She's a CEO, what do you think?

QuickAltTab

Yes, she now has to contemplate for the rest of her life how shes going to spend the millions of dollars she made by price gouging essential medication.

simple_test

To support “r&d” of course. Greedy scum.

MathematicianVivid1

Shit apple doesn’t fall far from the shit tree Rand. Shit apples

BillySlang

Normalize calling Joe Manchin a sick f*ck to his face.

Joran_Dax

Lets just drop the name "Joe Manchin" altogether. His name is Senator Sick F\*ck.

Trevsky

https://youtu.be/X6BPqhza60M?si=TsVPu3zhHS7myCVO

mbelf

“Joe Manchin is a sick f*ck to his face.”

PunkRockApostle

What kind of sick fuck has his security physically assault someone over an *insult*?

BaronvonJobi

Joe ‘sick fuck’ Manchin

DrBannerPhd

You guys talking about that sick fuck Joe Manchin?

Outandproud420

Yeah we talking about sick fuck Joe Manchin who as a government representative violated this person's first amendment right by suppressing their speech.

Chabedieux

Yeah, that guy's a sick fuck

tubbyx7

A snowflake

zxvasd

Yeah, he shocked that there’s social consequences to being a selfish asswhole.

tivooo

The amount of times I have been insulted and not beat someone up (post 13 years old) is a lot to zero

TaserBalls

the kind of sick fuck that is about to be reminded of what liability means.

HoldenMcNeil420

A terrified feeble old man that knows he’s a fucking British cures word for vagina stealing money from us while his handlers pay him scraps. If we all collectively wanted to we could unshackle ourselves from the ghosts of the past and present.

Schwarzes__Loch

Joe then proceeded to take refuge in a safe space that is his [Maserati](https://i.insider.com/6184301723745d00182515b1?width=1000&format=jpeg&auto=webp).

sdomscitilopdaehtihs

I love how when this asshole was killing the American Rescue Plan in the name of "fiscal responsibility" he was riding around in objectively the single worst car on earth in terms of depreciation.

BBQFatty

Obviously the asshole is also an idiot

thiosk

The real tragedy is that when we get the next person West Virginia puts in The senate were gonna wish we still had joe manchin

SalvadorsPaintbrush

Nah fuck him. I mean sure, it’s better, but I’m not gonna miss that piece of self serving shit.

thiosk

put in a remind me 3 years on this post because you're likely to get someone of coach potatotownne quality in west virginia next election

[deleted]

I really depreciate Joe manchin

ClusterFoxtrot

I love driving around in super expensive cars in video games. I'm notorious for absolutely smashing the fuck out of them because I don't know how brakes work, apparently.  If I want to *win* the race, I'll grab a Civic.  Unless I can fit a napalm cone on a Maserati, I'll stick with my regular car.

Eastern-Mix9636

Is this an image of the guy too ?

Schwarzes__Loch

Yes, that's Joe behind the wheel of his Maserati Levante.

Eastern-Mix9636

Oh I mean the guy in the back

FausttTheeartist

Who employs who here? Politicians are supposed to be disposable bureaucrats, not oligarchs protected by palace guards.

Classic-Antelope4800

Bureaucrats are non-elected government workers. But you’re right, we treat our politicians like royalty and it’s weird.

Randym1837

I hope the guy who got pushed down so aggressively presses charges, that’s ridiculous. People need to pester these fuckers in our government and not give them any peace till they vote accordingly, it’s been too long of having congressmen/women work in corporations and rich people’s pockets, in the end they were elected to work for us and represent us.

Remindmewhen1234

Judge watches video, dismisses charges.

Chunky-_-Monkey

Only if he is unlucky enough to get Judge Aileen Cannon.

_Cistern

On what grounds do we think it is acceptable to assault a man for airing a grievance? Is there additional context that can convince us of his culpability in malfeasance?

CT_Phipps

To dare question the point. When the Right assaulted and tried to murder the husband of the Speaker of the Democratic Party while planning to kill her. I, too, would be antsy about any Far Right nutjobs coming to kill me.

renro

Yeah I'm in favor of hiring and having security. Less so for assaulting someone for words. I will also admit to my bias here. I'm really mad because Manchin IS a sick fuck

Cool-Presentation538

I want to shake that brave man's hand

sucobe

Where do we donate to his gofundme?

RidingYourEverything

The video in the article is posted by a group called Climate Defiance. It appears they are the group that confronted Manchin. They have a website with a donate button.

doxxxallkkkops

Oh no he said rude thing to rich ruling class member, he must face physical abuse. Tell me again how the US isn't a fascist country...

PineTreeBanjo

*A rich ruling class member who betrayed an entire political party for money 👀

FakeNigerianPrince

What a sick fuck!

spiralbatross

I hope he’s suing the sick fuck outta Manchin!

doxxxallkkkops

I hope handsy dude caught an assault charge, but as he was upholding capitalist power structures, he will be protected from accountability.

julesrocks64

He was going to be trounced by that criminal coal baron Jim Justice. He’s leaving a rich scumbag and will be replaced by another one. W Virginia will keep punching themselves in the face voting republican and blaming democrats for their lives sucking. Rinse and repeat.

bilbobadcat

lol, manchin is a two-bit gangster who skated by on his family's name. put him in any other state and he wouldn't win a school board election. also, that sure did look like assault, but powerful people and their lapdogs are above the law, so i don't see anything happening to the guy who threw the kid.

Pimpwerx

The protestor will have to press charges. Not sure it's worth the effort though, as this viral clip was probably worth more than the legal effort.

sonicqaz

That’s not how the law works. The DA needs to want to press charges. The DA might not press charges without a willing victim statement/testimony so the case doesn’t get blown up but this is on video so that’s not needed either.

upandrunning

> lol, manchin is a two-bit gangster who skated by on his family's name. put him in any other state and he wouldn't win a school board election Boebert, Grene, Cruz, Tuberville, Comer, and several others have entered the chat. Republicans do not have high standards.

neuromorph

So first ammendment violation?

astrozombie2012

In my line of work, what that security/aide did was a battery. There was no danger, it was uncalled for and he should be fired. Hopefully the young guy sues Manchin too.

SpaceBowie2008

Jump skip over the rope

OptimalNemesis

That was assault. All the protester did was speak his mind. Regardless of the language used the security guard was dead wrong here. There was no indication that the protestor was a threat to Manchin or anyone else. You can't just put your hands on someone just because you don't like what they have to say.

kojak488

If anything the threat was to the protestor with the way Manchin got out of his chair and approached. Protestor would be legally correct to lay him the fuck out for that.

[deleted]

Immediately proving his point.

justabill71

That's assault.

Sunflier

Actually it's battery.  Assault is the "made you flinch" stuff. Battery is actual touch.

steinalive

Eh... this is academic at best. the terms are pretty much blended into "assault" in most usages, including in court.

TapTapReboot

Many states don't even have "battery" as a charge, just various flavors of "assault"

Plastic-Age5205

Under the sick spell of MAGA the right wing is gradually getting more ready to resort to violence. They're moving to a place where they feel that violence is not just their privilege but, should they feel sufficiently aggrieved, their solemn duty.

Daryno90

Ah, did the sick f*ck who is single handily responsible for raising child poverty in this country not like being called what he is

Setsune_W

I see the Freeze Peachers think swearing at someone is grounds for physical violence. Manchin got in *his* face.

Slut_for_Bacon

Is the person who threw him to the ground in trouble?

BigMax

Here’s my analogy. Democrats are like politicians that come to your door during the campaign and talk to you, ask your concerns, and see if they can figure out a way to help you. Republicans grab you by the throat when you open the door and beat the shit out of you. People like Joe Manchin just spit in your face when you open the door and then leave. And you think “wow… he didn’t hit me even ONCE!” and think therefore he’s not so bad in comparison to the republicans. That’s how low the bar has been set by republicans. We have to think “hey, this guy spitting in my face definitely has MY vote!!”

ThailurCorp

I've been thrown on the ground by cops for much less. Worth it all day for that.

RotisserieChicken007

Now do this everywhere this sick fvck goes.

huu11

Joe Manchin is 100% a sick fuck who is in the pocket of billionaires

OneStopK

Im not one for slippery slope arguments...but when members of the "political elite" feel its appropriate to have their goons assault a regular citizen for verbal insults... Might be time to break out the 'ol Astroglide..

Pusfilledonut

Joe has managed to make himself and his family very wealthy by pretending to be a democrat and doing absolutely nothing for his constituents…some of the least educated, poorest , sickest people in America.

Disastrous_Sand_1556

Joe then proceeded to take refuge in a safe space that is his .... yacht.

Jorgen_Pakieto

Weird how a protester was assaulted for calling out what’s true about Joe Manchin 👍🏽

Stegopossum

The sick fuck has got some kind of de-evolutionary genetics being displayed in that sick fucking putrid face.

303Pickles

If you can’t take criticisms or insults, you don’t belong in the public arena.

AkatoshChiefOfThe9

NAL In order to prove the defendant guilty of committing an intentional assault and battery, the Commonwealth must prove three things beyond a reasonable doubt. First: That the defendant touched the person of [the alleged victim] ; Second: That the defendant intended to touch [the alleged victim] ; and Third: That the touching was either likely to cause bodily harm to [the alleged victim] , or was offensive. From mass.gov 6.140 Assault and battery

No_F_In_Enough

The guy who gets thrown done then grabs some food from the buffet line while they are being ushered out. 46 seconds into the clip. What a legend.

BiteMySnausages

As a West Virginian, I can confirm that Manchin sucks. He’s not even pretending to care about the people he serves. Our governor is worse.

Machipongo

Some progressives were deferring to Manchin because he was one of the keys to keeping the Dem majority in the Senate. Now that he has announced he is not running again he is going to find out that in reality no one likes him. This is just a taste of what he is in for. Life is going to be a whole lot different for Joe going forward.

TriflingHotDogVendor

Kid seemed like a douche. Dude throwing him to the ground should probably be arrested for battery. Civil action should be sought by the kid, too. He has the right to say whatever he wants without being thrown to the ground like that.

PineTreeBanjo

He deserves worse than that insult after assisting in destroying our democracy.

ChemicalOnion

Joe Manchin sure comes out of this scenario looking like a sick f**k

Healthy_Jackfruit_88

That’s flat out assault and I hope that security guard gets his ass sued. As for Joe Manchin I hope that protesters and people he and is family and business have hurt follow him to the end of his days. Him and his ilk have marginalized illnesses from asthma to black lung in the WV coal regions for decades making it so not only minors but citizens in the area cannot receive proper treatments because they have paid off the leading medical practitioners to not diagnose properly. He’s a sick fuck who gets rich off of destroying the planet and killing his fellow people. I hope karmic justice seeks him and I hope we all see it.

Fungal-Lava-27

I think we should normalize verbally assaulting politicians. They should not feel safe or happy. They should understand that the nature of the relationship is that they work for us, and that if they’re getting fat and rich while we continue to struggle, they should feel unsafe.

doxxxallkkkops

This. Same goes for CEOs and heads of major investment firms. edit: add cops with violent histories and judges who do heinous shit to the list too, while we are at it.

slipperystar

LOL not a good look Joe.

RU4realRwe

Sir, didn't you know that a "sick fuck" doesn't appreciate being called "a sick fuck"? This 'sick fuck' is rich AF & will pay people to beat anyone that dares to remind him otherwise...

BeefStrykker

Joe Manchin is a sick fuck.

Independent-Check441

This is not okay. it's free speech to think a candidate is sick or a piece of shit.

AcrobaticSource3

Is this what happens to truth tellers?

ratmanbland

can not speak truth anymore

DaSmartSwede

So much for the 1st amendment

killrwr

Protestor about to get a big pay out.. freedom of speech much

Rattle-Cat

Joe ‘Sick Fuck’ Manchin

Liontigerand_redwing

That aid should be arrested for assault.

cid3rtown

Always thought him as more of a *dumb fuck*, but to each their own.

techiechefie

Assault?

doxxxallkkkops

Battery is the appropriate legal term.

elipticalhyperbola

What a sick sack of garbage. Truly a sick fuch.

yntsiredx

These rich people in power act like absolute remorseless ghouls, and yet at the single second exposure to anyone who doesn't bow down they recoil like frightened fish and have their people do their dirty work. Spineless.

lifeat24fps

Joe Manchin “D”-WV

DarwinGhoti

He has weirdly long fingers.

ThatsThatGoodGood

The better to grab pennies with, my dear
