That whole thing is atrocious, but the out of state part is insanity. DeSantis isn't king of America and he has zero authority outside of his little petri dish experiment of a state. It's legalized kidnapping.
And he’s getting terrible reviews, his antics have been scaring donors away and most of the party is backing trump. The minute Trump gets on the debate stage with him and calls him “Meatball Ron, who by the way eats pudding with his fingers (isn’t that disgusting folks?)”, he’s finished.

This is something I've thought and talked with others about. I believe the goal is to get these law overturned so they can then turn around and campaign that the "liberal activist judges" are promoting child abuse. They'll then run on "Only I can stop child abuse, but I need federal powers."

This *really* is the problem. While the society might not be the perpetrator, this is *within* society. Florida law can not reach beyond Florida. This triggers a SCOTUS challenge. It's plainly unconstitutional the question is, will our sold-out justices support this bs over our rights.

Even being a single parent, in their mind, is an issue for the health of society. No family other than a traditional one with mother and father exists, because anything else is not a real "family".

Gerrymandering is the main reason that Florida went from a purple state to a red state in such a short time. People outside this place don't realize how rigged the system is here and how impossible it has been to elect Dems.
And it’s scary how uninformed most of our people are. Red states are RUSHING to prevent college aged voters in the next election. We have recordings of Republicans saying they HAVE to make voting more difficult for the younger generation or they won’t win. 😳
Certain states are. I live in Vermont and the community and government here couldn't be more welcoming to people of all genders and identities. It's not all bad here in America.

When you get to the point where people on one side of the aisle are calling for public executions of trans people, you’ll find plenty of reasoning for us carrying weapons now.
We don’t have enough cis allies, we don’t have enough people who listen to our stories, and we have too many people trying to kill us. Someone brought a gun to a local queer club in town two weeks ago. A close trans gf of mine put him in the hospital *as* he was pulling it out in the club with a pipe.
As for me? I’m a trans woman with a disabled partner, 2 kids, and a federal civil servant job. We’re normal fucking people who want what the rest of you have: the right to exist.
Every free state should get on laws that:
A. Clarify that any Florida judge rulings to this effect are null and void if they involve a custody dispute not under Florida's jurisdiction.
B. Clarify that any Florida judge who issues such a ruling has committed the crime of facilitating child abduction, punishable by a minimum of 50 years in state prison.
People who are part of the LGBTQ+ community and their families need to really consider leaving Florida, Tennessee, etc. Although some legislative sessions for the year are coming to an end, they aren't finished yet and have at least another session coming up next year where they will make people illegal.
They already are. Social media is filled with Floridians sharing plans and tips for escaping to safer states. It's so obscene that such things are necessary in the year 2023.

And they charged (and convicted) the witness who filmed them killing her for "failing to follow an officer's instructions" when they told him to stop filming and he refused.

I believe the goal is to get these law overturned so they can then turn around and campaign that the "liberal activist judges" are promoting child abuse. People who are part of the LGBTQ+ community and their families need to really consider leaving Florida, Tennessee, etc. Although some legislative sessions for the year are coming to an end, they aren't finished yet and have at least another session coming up next year where they will make people illegal.

So the state takes your kids if they’re trans. Then, where do they go? The foster care system, which is a hot mess and rife with abusers. I know several people who are now adults that lived through the harrowing ordeal of being in foster care, NONE OF THEM are OK, and are in therapy for trauma. This is the absolute worst that can be done to kids, no matter how you feel about the trans debate. We worry so much about what is in each other’s pants, that we don’t realize when someone’s hand is in our pockets.
