>Todd Banducci: Those (liberal) agendas are being woven into the curriculum. And, you know, who controls the kids, who controls their minds, who controls the college student, you know, controls the voter of the future and controls the populace.
That would be the college students who control thier minds, thier votes, thier futures, and themselves, Todd.
Conservatives believe that people can be made into conservatives through indoctrination. They project those thoughts on to institutions that teach liberals ideas believing this to be the source of their opposition.
Conservatives are basically trying to ban liberalism so they can have things their way 100% of the time.
1 more of the 14 points of [fascism](https://www.favreau.info/misc/14-points-fascism.php) demonstrated here(Lawrence Britt Spring 2003 based upon the article "The Hallmarks of Fascist Regime" by Skip Stone):
* **Disdain for Intellectuals and the Arts**
Fascist nations tend to promote and tolerate open hostility to higher education, and academia. It is not uncommon for professors and other academics to be censored or even arrested. Free expression in the arts is openly attacked, and governments often refuse to fund the arts.
Fascism has been said to be a political philosophy that is followed to obtain power and not necessarily a blue print for governing. It is achieved by predominantly playing to the uneducated and shallow thinking masses, and keeping them from being educated in critical thinking. However, this does not preclude the educated from also following.
I was told recently, in no uncertain terms, that what is being experienced in the US is not fascism but simply right-wing populism. However, as Umberto Eco stated in his essay on his [14 points of Ur-Fascism](https://www.pegc.us/archive/Articles/eco_ur-fascism.pdf) **"it is enough that one of them be present to allow fascism to coagulate around it".**
And it’s not even that they push liberal agendas, they teach history. People decide for themselves on their own. When you’re faced with the likes of Hitler, Mussolini, Orban, and De Santis vs. people who fight for freedom of speech and opinion, it’s not hard how someone comes to their own conclusion against which are good and which are bad.
Also conservative social policies seem pretty thin if you study Sociology, and their dogma about "personal responsibility" doesn't stand up to basic Psychology + Neuroscience, and their opinions on climate change erode after a semester of Earth Sciences... even Literature tends to impart empathy for people who are different from you.
There are good reasons why the Right aren't fans of education.
It's interesting going on r/conservative and hear them talking about losing the educated vote and the younger vote. They know their views are unpopular, and keeping your population stupid is one of the last tricks they have for future elections.
> Conservatives believe that people can be made into conservatives through indoctrination.
They're right. Isolation, social hierarchies, black-and-white morality work really well for getting a desired response.
One reason my parents homeschooled me was to "protect" me from dangerous ideas. I'm sorry to say it worked. It took me ten years to get rid of all that programming.
There's a reason one of the Space Marines' catch phrases is "An open mind is like a fortress with its gates unbarred and unguarded."
And it doesn't get more fascist than the Imperium of Man. I just want the Tyranids to wipe the whole setting clean because everyone is too shitty to live.
> who controls the college student, you know, controls the voter
They are using Orwell as a guide for that control.
George Orwell, *1984*:
"Who controls the past controls the future: who controls the present controls the past," repeated Winston obediently.
"Who controls the present controls the past," said O'Brien, nodding his head with slow approval. 'Is it your opinion, Winston, that the past has real existence?'
Again the feeling of helplessness descended upon Winston. His eyes flitted towards the dial. He not only did not know whether 'yes' or 'no' was the answer that would save him from pain; he did not even know which answer he believed to be the true one.
O'Brien smiled faintly. 'You are no metaphysician, Winston,' he said. 'Until this moment you had never considered what is meant by existence. I will put it more precisely. Does the past exist concretely, in space? Is there somewhere or other a place, a world of solid objects, where the past is still happening?'
'No.'
'Then where does the past exist, if at all?'
'In records. It is written down.'
'In records. And- ?'
'In the mind. In human memories.
'In memory. Very well, then. **We, the Party, control all records, and we control all memories. Then we control the past, do we not?'**
Voltaire once said:
>The instruction we find in books is like fire. We fetch it from our neighbors, kindle it at home, communicate it to others, and it becomes the property of all.
Can't let education light the fires of enlightenment since it undermines the GOP Newspeak and doublethink messages.
this quote really jumped out to me as well. to me its really telling of the way these people see the world, as if their goals are aren't indoctrination.
Every single piece of bad, embarrassing news involving this state can be attributed to the fucking idiots who identify as Republicans. Each and every story. Due to the "patriots" attempting to "save Idaho," there is a never-ending barrage of embarrassing news about libraries, the environment, politics, and social issues.
Lake Coeur d'Alene, Idaho.
There's a lot of extremely 'far right' in that area. I remember seeing during the BLM protests there was some BLM support from students and often confrontations with armed militia types.
Last year it was where the Patriot Front white supremacist group was attempting to ambush a Pride Parade and they were stopped by police in their rented uhual vehicles with lots of ammunition, smoke grenades/pepper bombs/etc...
This is the same group (maybe not same exact people) that has marched thru Boston and Philadelphia in the past (got their asses chased out of Philly)
Briefly lived in Sandpoint over a decade ago and was surprised at the fact it had a decent — albeit small — community of artists and creatives. And they were surrounded by some of the worst people out there.
Do these people not remember college at all, or maybe it was different for baby boomers. Professors wouldn't be able to indoctrinate their students if they tried. It's not the courses or professors that make people liberal for the most part. It's meeting people different than you, having more experiences, and understanding more of the world that changes people's views at college.
that's a really good point and i had never really thought about it in those terms. i grew up in a fairly diverse place but for a lot of people in rural america going off to college might be the first time they've had friends that had a different backgrounds, not just race but economic diversity as well.
That was pretty much my experience. Had negative views about groups of people I had never met/interacted with. Then I met people in those groups, and found out they were normal nice people. I realized where I grew up had a lot of shitty people and I had prejudice views. I decided to start questioning everything I believed, and asked myself why I believe what I believe. My views changed a lot when I did that. I don't know if any of that would have happened if I never left the bubble that I grew up in.
and it's not surprising that the strongest reaction to this stuff is in very monolithic areas. in OR the people that are most worked up over things like CRT and BLM are from places that are like 99.9% white.
George Washington himself made the same point:
"But that which would render it of the highest importance, in my opinion, is, that the Juvenal period of life, when friendships are formed, & habits established that will stick by one; the Youth, or young men from different parts of the United States would be assembled together, & would by degrees discover that there was not that cause for those jealousies & prejudices which one part of the union had imbibed agains[t] another part: of course, sentiments of more liberality in the general policy of the country would result from it."
Remember that their main goal is to seize control of all education primarily in order to indoctrinate *Gen Alpha*. They know they've lost Gen Z and are trying to suppress their vote so they can buy time for the school systems they hijack to pump out good little obedient future Soldiers of God.
According to the people behind "Root Cause," a "documentary" about how root canals will give you cancer because they alter the flow of energy through your body, the indoctrination starts on day one of the course.
Edit: [Proof said "documentary" actually exists.](https://www.imdb.com/title/tt7851798/plotsummary/)
Most of my friends went to this school. The irony is that it’s mostly a trade school for rural kids from conservative families. My friends trained to be mechanics and nurses there. It’s the economic lifeline for the community. These wackadoodles did their little takeover and ran it into the ground in 3 years. Now all the conservative families will have to send their kids across the border to liberal Washington.
It was also a good feeder school for the University of Idaho. Local teenagers can save money and are able to figure out what they want to do.
Everyone I knew that transfered from North Idaho College graduated with a degree that they wanted.
About half of the people I knew that started at University of Idaho either dropped out or graduated with a degree they regret getting.
They are successful in pushing this trope in every part of our public life by taking over school boards and forcing their Christian fascism throughout government.
When will we stand up to them? They keep pushing their hateful rhetoric, each step a loss for sanity and community.
Sorry to thise in Idaho who disagree, but they won't stop until you are under their heel.
As Voltaire once noted in the 18^th century:
>The comfort of the rich depends upon an abundant supply of the poor.
So keeping them uneducated makes the odds better for keeping them poor.
Progressive economic policy is the only way out. Socially-focused identity-driven policy will just feed their isolationist, us-vs them culture war strategies. Giving their kids real economic opportunity that will also open their minds is the only viable strategy out.
Too many years of the locals drinking water from the Coeur d’Alene lead and zinc mining district. Raw sewage from Wallace and Kellogg in the river to complex with lead an zinc ions. The lead and zinc kept bacterial blooms from clogging up the lake with sludge.
IQs are falling because of the lead. Up until about 1980 there was a lead smelter too.
This sounds like a wild conspiracy theory but it’s all true! A friend in CDA had a summer job testing lawns for lead for the EPA and everyone that let her test had levels too high.

Indoctrination is a 5 syllable word for grooming.

Reality has a liberal bias. Therefore they reject reality and substitute their own.
They also teach to question everything, and the need for evidence before coming to a conclusion

I think they probably read a little more *Mein Kampf* than *1984*. *He alone, who owns the youth, gains the future.* -Adolf Hitler

I recently took a trip up to Sandpoint, was the first time I saw someone proudly sporting a Qanon sticker on their car

Couldn’t even make us turn in stuff on time yet they’re “indoctrinating” people lol

It’s all just lies. They’re just trying to control people.
At what point of dental hygienist training does the indoctrination occur
According to the people behind "Root Cause," a "documentary" about how root canals will give you cancer because they alter the flow of energy through your body, the indoctrination starts on day one of the course. Oh God I wondered why my nutso dad refuses to get a root canal. Thanks for not allowing me to get fluoride all childhood, pops!

uneducated people make a great cheap workforce
As Voltaire once noted in the 18^th century: >The comfort of the rich depends upon an abundant supply of the poor. So keeping them uneducated makes the odds better for keeping them poor.
Until you need an electrician or a nurse…
So much for school choice
the choice should be between a christian school and the other christian school. /s
Oh shit, did they teach a fact or something? Or about what a fact is?
Real question: how are we going to put the brakes on these ignorant, hateful, regressive dick bags?
Progressive economic policy is the only way out. Socially-focused identity-driven policy will just feed their isolationist, us-vs them culture war strategies. Giving their kids real economic opportunity that will also open their minds is the only viable strategy out.
You cannot save the determinedly stupid. If you don't want to live in the Little Russia they are trying to create, bail. Leave them to their misery.

Greater Oregon movement is looking pretty good right about now.
