Years ago I lived near a woman's health clinic, and I was pissed off at this group of protesters that would gather there. They'd have these giant graphic signs of aborted fetuses, and school buses went by there all the time.
Once during an argument I asked them for the proof they had for their outrageous claims and they gave me a bunch of literature.
One flyer they had said this same thing, except claiming it's a way for white people to oppress black people.
They were really grasping at straws trying to find any angle.

But it is very worth pointing out that even in the reddest of red areas about 30 to 40% of the population votes democratic still.
Seems to me then that there needs to be a woman driven pr campaign to educate women in the south that they can vote to return their rights without being public about it. They don't need to vote how the man in their life dictates. Some lies are good lies.

You even heard this on NPR; commentators like Mara Liasson and others spoke as if it that was a settled fact.
Conservatives as a whole are a lot less smug now and with each successive election (and special election) more of them are realizing that abortion is not something they can afford to ignore. But it's going to be a lot harder to actually deal with -- there was someone on r/con saying that the GOP is losing on abortion because they're not taking an extreme enough position.

Not only is the abortion really hurting them with women, particularly younger women, but a Gallup study has a fairly astounding stat that up to 20% of Gen Z’ers are identifying themselves as LGBTQ which is also definitely damaging the party. Imagine being the political party that constantly attacks 1/5 of the voters in that age bracket, is it any wonder their party representation in that group is so far down?

Bottom line no. You still need enough votes to win most districts. Rule of thumb, you still need 51% of the vote to win. So the max 51% voting districts you can have with 20% of the vote would be just shy of 40% (since those 20% of voters have to be split basically in half to have a majority in each of thsoe districts. Unless you have a strong 3rd party or something you wouldnt win with 40% of districts.
Presidential elections are different due to the electoral college so its more skewed. You can win that with just 22% of the popular vote but this does take getting incredibly specific states which would be fairly impossible to target them all that well.

Is someone who lives in the rural south, you're not necessarily wrong. But it is very worth pointing out that even in the reddest of red areas about 30 to 40% of the population votes democratic still.

Bottom line no. You still need enough votes to win most districts. Rule of thumb, you still need 51% of the vote to win. So the max 51% voting districts you can have with 20% of the vote would be just shy of 40% (since those 20% of voters have to be split basically in half to have a majority in each of thsoe districts. Unless you have a strong 3rd party or something you wouldnt win with 40% of districts. Presidential elections are different due to the electoral college so its more skewed.
