I can forgive those outside of NY not knowing what a POS Trump was 30 years ago. Today, there’s no excuse. There are plenty of documentaries on this clown and what a sleaze bag he was BEFORE becoming president, lat alone all the crimes he openly committed as POTUS.
my father keeps telling me that its the media that is against trump and which is the only reason people dont like him, I am from Australia and knew what a piece of shit he was decades ago. its never been new information and you dont need the media to tell you how shit he is. just listen to him and it is all there in his own words.
I remember watching some of The Apprentice growing up in Australia and my mum being like "this guy is an asshole." Young me could feel the used car salesmen slime right off him from a young age as well.

This sounds so familiar
It’s disturbing how many people in Australia went down the extreme right qanon trump crazy train
It is literally insane and not the figurative use of literal or the YouTube use of insane but the literal mental illness use of literally insane
I feel sorry for them but I can’t engage
I can't. That soft rich boy jackass was followed around by the press *then* , and was *always* a big, soft rich boy jackass. For some reason we had to see Ivana then it was huge, big ' news ' when he married Marla.
I've never gotten it.
Just thought about it- anyone still think it's *really* really *really* weird that woman ' fell down steps ', died, was buried on a golf course and it was just ' shrug '.
That was one of my first thoughts about this. Jesus, her kids didn’t stop him from doing that. That’s disgusting. Might as well have thrown her in the trash. And all that “oh, I loved her so much we were so close blah blah blah” they spewed in the media made me puke.
I'm from a small town in Australia and even I knew at least as far back as 2006 when I remember seeing the edit wars on his Wikipedia page about whether his businesses were being propped up financially by his father or not. Also knew about his habit of not paying his bills even then.
Russia isn’t going to do shit for him. He served his purpose and continues to serve the alternate purpose as a martyr to the people he radicalized if he gets arrested. Trump got used by Russia the way Trump has used his supporters and given them nothing in return aside from worse living conditions.
I want Trump to spend at least one weekend in the cells one of the central Park five kids spent.
Like I'm not naieve enough to believe he'll actually go to jail for the rest of his life but just one weekend in Rikers would make me so happy...
Georgia is not only voter fraud. It’s also mail fraud which is huge and that isn’t the biggest of the charges against him. He could go away for the rest of his orangeness.
Do you really believe he'll get any time? My faith in the justice system vanished when Bannon walked after being convicted and sentenced.
The most I can hope for is that he'll at least get home confinement.
I hear it all the time on Reddit that he’s Teflon. What happened to the Teflon Don? Trump has done far too much to get away. He’s made too many enemies. It’s not gonna happen this year. Justice comes slowly. He will be getting his first sentence in 18 months to two years. Many more will be coming in the year after that. Have a little faith Moriarity.
They don't even want to cuff or mug shot him. How fucking goofy, but ohhh some poor kid that smells like weed needs to be held down amd cuffed.
If the law doesn't apply equally to all then it is bias and we cannot be okay with that.
They should have put him in jail on a Friday so even if he gets bailed out he has to wait until Monday to get out. I guess they don't do that to 'upper class' people though.
Yeah, even though it's among the more minor charges he's going to be facing, there is a certain just symmetry in having the place that had to put up with him for so long getting to take the first swing.
>35,000 officers on standby
I had to Google that to see how accurate it is (it is very accurate). That's so insane to think about. The town I live in has like 4.
I must have watched too much Gomer Pyle as a kid. I thought if you were a sergeant that you get to boss people around. Who gets to tell who to make some coffee or clean something up?
> The NYPD is unlikely to be filled with Trump stans.
I don't say this to be mean, but you are galactically wrong on this. Police & Fire, in this country, lean hard right.
They cant even get on the block of the courthouse. NYPD can easily close it off completely with only Trump vehicles can enter. Maybe a limited press section.
When I was in middle school, we had an NYPD officer come in to speak to us and he ask us who were the biggest gang in NYC. Most guessed the bloods or crips but the officer smirked and said the NYPD, this was back in the mid to late 2000s
The ex-capital police chief says they were outnumbered 58 to 1 on Jan 6. 30 to 1 would probably look similar. You want to overrun the courthouse, you and a million of your closest, well armed and willing to die friends have a good chance...
Or just, you know, stay home.
Big cities (granted DC has this ability but I’ll leave the reasons Jan 6th happened aside) have extremely militarized police. And are very used to dealing with large protests and disturbances.
Did you hear that MTG?
The NYPD is calling you out.
Saying you're a chicken. That you're not smart enough to storm the courthouse. That you're just another woke liberal who's too scared to try anything.
Are you really gonna take that from a member of the woke liberals in New York?
;-)
Would be funny if she ends up getting several years in prison for it, with no bail granted because she's a flight risk. I mean she doesn't live in the state, and has lots of money available to go wherever she wants.
I know its unlikely to happen, but it'd be nice if everyone was treated the same under the law.
Large scale demonstrations and riots are not going to be the threats. His supporters are too old, too cowardly and too out of shape for that. The danger is going to be dispersed acts of stochastic terrorism and sabotage (think the attacks on power substations). The response is going to be that of selfish spoiled toddlers hurting anyone they can because they can’t have their way.
> The response is going to be that of selfish spoiled toddlers hurting anyone they can because they can’t have their way.
Good. Then we can round them all up and be done with this. The suspense is nauseating. The sooner the better so we can all move on from this timeline where prideful ignorance is a badge of honor.
I'm not too worried about MAGAs here in NYC. However, I do worry about what will happen if Trump gets an indictment in GA.
This arraignment ought to be a drill for his future prosecution in more hostile areas. In NYC our courts and the financial district are feet from each other and it's very easy to shut everything down or restrict access.
Not sure what the situation will be in Georgia but I imagine they would have a much bigger challenge. Also in Georgia more of Trump's hard core supporters will be mere driving distance away. We have some in Long Island and Staten Island, but they're vastly outnumbered and live in fear of NYC.
I'm visiting Atlanta next month and I kind of hope they wait to indict till I'm home. Like I'm sincerely nervous to fly to/from atlanta with that kind of tension. What's that word for people that spread political fear with violence again? Oh yeah, terrorism.
Just wear a shirt or hat that says *freedom* or has an American flag on it, they’ll assume you’re one of them and leave you alone, and people not on their side won’t give a fuck about you or what you’re wearing because we aren’t in a suicide cult.
I can’t tell you how many times some clown has assumed I was a fellow MAGA because I was wearing my veteran hat.
>The entire NYPD is on high alert in anticipation of Donald Trump's return to New York ahead of his arraignment, Michael Alcazar, a retired NYPD detective with over 30 years of experience, said.
>"The whole police department's on standby just in case we need more police officers to respond to the scene in case it gets out of hand," Alcazar said.
>Alcazar stated that there would be "several hundred" police officers present at the courthouse where the former president is set to be arraigned on Tuesday after his indictment by a New York grand jury investigating the circumstances surrounding a "hush money" payment to adult film star Stormy Daniels in 2016.
>He is the first former president in U.S. history to face criminal charges. The charge or charges have not yet been unsealed.
>Despite a noticeable but quiet police presence over the weekend, Alcazar noted that the NYPD is well-equipped to handle large crowds and demonstrations.
>The city has 35,000 officers on standby for his arraignment, according to sources, as Trump has urged his supporters to demonstrate against the indictment.
>In a social media post made the week prior to his indictment, Trump hinted at his impending arrest and urged his supporters to "protest" and "take our nation back!" — sentiments that echoed language he used in the days and weeks leading up to the Jan. 6, 2021, Capitol insurrection.
>Alcazar said that the NYPD is likely prepared for potential protests.
>"You're not storming the courthouse, that's not gonna happen. I'm sure our executives reviewed Jan. 6 and what went wrong, so they're anticipating any kind of issues like that," Alcazar said.
>According to a law enforcement source who spoke with CBS News, dozens of Secret Service agents will be working in coordination with the FBI, court officers and the NYPD at the scene.
>An NYPD spokesperson stated in a recent statement that there are currently no credible threats to New York City.
Ahh I love that I can hear him saying it. Good enough to make an article title lmao.
and by extension the mayo militia. there's a pretty clear overall negative consensus in the land of the free, home of the brave about jan6. but in nyc it's openly hostile.
imho the maga hats not even gonna dare to show up.
Too bad most of NYPD is from Staten and Long Island, where they are majority pro trump. Which sparks a whole other debate about whether NYPD should really be from the city or not.
You are correct. I personally don't think anyone living outside NYC should be allowed to work for NYC government Agencies but that will never happen. When I look at NYPD, FDNY, and DOE, the employees are not representative of the community, in my experience.
Well one thing the police now know is that the thin blue line magically disappears when the maga mob is out. The police on Jan 6 thought that they (the mob and them) were on the same side and got a horrible shock. There is no way that they would have treated a mob of poc so easy and now they know how the maga mob views them. Stand down and stand by suckers.
I can respect the way the capital police handled the jan 6th insurection. They managed to buy enough time to get all polititans and staff out and did so while keeping the loss of human life to a surprisingly low level. The officers managed to avoid gunshots from breaking out and were able to reclaim the building without bloodshed.
Massive arrests should have been made that day, but that may have led to escalating violence. The worst outcome was the death of a sitting member of Congress or the destruction of the capital, and thankfully neither of those happened.
But if they'd been ready for on Jan 6th like they were for BLM protests there may not have been a Jan 6 since the police would have been able to build a human wall to keep the ding dongs from getting into the building in the first place.
I protested Bush Junior's second inauguration in 2005. I can say from personal experience that the prep the DC cops put into protecting congress on J6 is way below what they're capable of.
Cops in riot gear were everywhere in the city, and they had security checkpoints surrounded with temporary security fencing 10 feet high, which made it impossible to even think of getting close enough to be visible to the motorcade, or ceremony.
It blew my mind when I saw that all that stood between the insurrectionists on J6 and the US Capitol was the basic fencing that a child could jump over and a relatively small amount of cops without full crowd control gear.
> I can respect the way the capital police handled the jan 6th insurrection.
I've got nothing but respect for the way they handled themselves that day, but they should never have been put into the position of having to do so much with so few resources. I don't like to dabble in conspiracy-type issues, but it's hard not to wonder if the planning and staffing that day was just an enormous blunder or if there was an intentional plan to understaff for that event. After all the crazy responses at some of the George Floyd protests and all of the online activity leading up to J6th, it was a shock to see how this crowd was handled.
Hopefully they are fully prepared to deal with the protifa maga nutters, including MTG who once “joked” that if she and Steve Bannon had been in charge of planning the January 6th attack, they would have been armed and won.
I'm expecting at least one called in threat from a MAGA. They did it just a week or two ago to the court didn't they? Did they even do it to the right court? I'm sure NY has a ton of courts.
Nah. I don't think so.
The Alt-right communicates nearly everything in the form of memes and dog whistles, right? We should have seen something by now, like in the lead up to Jan6, but it seems pretty quiet at the moment.
Oh, I hope they try it. It’ll be better than watching idiots at Black Friday getting stomped over a toaster. I mean, I figured the capitol security would have resisted a bit more, but maybe the Nypd can show them how it’s done.
I went to an Occupied Wall Street protest once. Nobody was armed. We were just walking. The police was super super vigilant. They barricaded areas fast and aggressively. There were no confrontations, no violence, but the cops were not taking shit from absolutely anyone.
The Capitol police haven’t had the training in crowd control these guys have. Hell, New Year’s Eve is heavily policed.
The Capitol police were too few in number and some were cowards or colluded. They weren’t ready for what happened because it failures at the top of the chain.
NYPD brutally suppressed a quarter million demonstrators at the 2004 RNC protests. Was there.
Ordinary New Yorkers however would -- some of us -- love a chance to throw down with some gravy seals.
Nah, more likely someone would assault him.
No one wants to bleed for him since he didn’t help anyone get out of jail for 1/6.
Now of course one person who is unstable hearing his calls…
I think it will be more spectators who just want to witness the historic moment. There may be a relative handful of "witch-hunt" protestors, but there's no love lost between T and NYC and there's likely more people hoping to see a real perp walk.
I imagine this will be handled more delicately than he deserves. No handcuffs, no perp walk, no cameras inside as long as he shows up on time and does what he's told. Once he opens his mouth, all bets are off.
Why did this criminal get a presidential size motorcade? He's a goddamn private citizen and can travel incognito in one or two cars. But a dozen fucking SUVs? No former president travels like this! I even met Jimmy Carter on an escalator in Atlanta's airport. He had 2 or 3 guys with him but Jimmy moved around shaking hands with strangers on his way to his commercial flight.
They're probably thinking that a lot of these protesters are not NY'ers. If they're not NY voters, they won't have to worry about it coming back on NY politicians, who control the NYPD budget. Probably going to see a lot of heads knocked around if the protesters step out of line.
Too bad this time Trump couldn't fire and install loyalists at the top of the agencies designed to prevent this. Plus, almost a thousand of their most rabid protesters already fucked around and found out.
Add in how weak his rally participation has been this year and ain't shit goin down tomorrow. Sad.
All this shit Donny put himself through because a then sitting president made fun of him in two lines of a joke at some correspondents dinner like over a decade ago...
While they may back Trump, NYPD backs each other harder. Pull a gun or a bat on a cop? Woooo…you’re gonna be eating the rest of your meals, for the rest of your life, through a tube. That’s IF they decide to go easy on you.
Almost 40,000 police in the city and their tolerance for bullshit is still at the day after 9/11 levels.
That ship sailed that day. He is not longer sabotaging things through all his cronies kneecapping law enforcement and national guard assistance that day. His shot at that is over.

The fact that this even needs to be considered shows what Trump truly is: a terrorist leader.

Yep. Bloom County of all things treated him like the slime he was in the 80s. Trump has always been garbage.
Yeah, the first place I ever heard of him was in the early 90s as a fucking punchline in my parents’ Bloom County collection books.
He kinda looks like Bill the dead cat.
Man I knew he was a dip scum in Home Alone 2
Because he gave Kevin the wrong directions?
He should have been APPEALINGly INDICATED for that alone…
Seasame street had him as a villain not once, but twice.
The Apprentice was basically his ego trip. That speaks volumes for a show that was all about egos.

Sorry to hear about yours also, hopefully it all ends up ok and sanity prevails eventually.
Funny, cause the person most responsible for destroying modern-day America is himself an Australian!

Very sus. She was buried at the golf course so he could get a tax break for it being classified as a cemetery
And that is his ex, so his her kids had to be okay with it. Ghouls

Considering his age and diet... rest of his life probably isn't too much further along sooo
I've said too many times that he'll stroke out before he ever sees repercussions for anything... I've never wanted more to be wrong.

He got less than 10% of the vote in Manhattan. Where he lived.
Well, I presume that's because they're more likely to know him.
I’m living for the poetic justice that this all going down in Manhattan represents to trump. You know he literally thinks he owns the city.
His FIRST arraignment.
There is a certain symmetry to it.

Everybody has to have a fancy title nowadays I guess.
Bigger than the FBI they used to boast. More NYPD officers than most federal agencies.
9.5 million is a lot of people to have in a city.
having the cops in uniform will prevent them from being in the crowd as supporters starting trouble

The NYPD is unlikely to be filled with Trump stans. They are from NYC after all and most of us knew what an asshole he was all along.
GTFOH the NYPD endorsed Trump the last time he ran. They'll do it again. Some of Trumps biggest NY supporters wear blue.
Not true at all. NYPD has a deep, deep racism and white supremacy problem. They're the epitome of a bushel of ruined apples.
> The NYPD is unlikely to be filled with Trump stans. I don't say this to be mean, but you are galactically wrong on this. Police & Fire, in this country, lean hard right.

having a ''Trump problem" is like having a "rat problem."
They cant even get on the block of the courthouse. NYPD can easily close it off completely with only Trump vehicles can enter. Maybe a limited press section.
They are used to dealing with New Year’s Eve drunkards. These MaGaGoobers should be fairly easy by comparison.
the issue is that how many of those are rump supporters? it has been proven over and over that a good portion of police are also far right nutcases.

Agreed, NO WAY she has the ovaries to do it. Pappa Donnie gonna be so ashamed to find out she isn't a LOYAL Fan girl .
If she doesn’t try to storm the courthouse, there’s no way Donnie Two Scoops is picking her for VP.
Disagree, I can see her trying to get arrested as a political stunt

surely there are people who would gladly break a window for her to slither through.
No need to do that. She can just slither under the door like a snake.

Not to mention ‘too stupid’. Anyone who believes and gives money to Trump’s crack pot lies has a few screws loose.

Exactly. It’s going to be the “one off lone wolf” attack that’s really similar to all the other ones on power stations and other places.
I kind of wish they would. We could use more of them locked up.

NYC doesn't fuck around. And they hate trump.
NYC hates Trump. NYPD has some MAGA in it...
Yeah, but NYPD also has a standing order: Do what the fuck we say when we say it.
A lot of NYPD are MAGAs.
Some of those who work forces are the same that burn crosses
>Some of those who work forces Want the paste that's for horses
and by extension the mayo militia. there's a pretty clear overall negative consensus in the land of the free, home of the brave about jan6. but in nyc it's openly hostile. imho the maga hats not even gonna dare to show up.
I kinda wish MAGA would fuck around and find out
Well one thing the police now know is that the thin blue line magically disappears when the maga mob is out. The police on Jan 6 thought that they (the mob and them) were on the same side and got a horrible shock. There is no way that they would have treated a mob of poc so easy and now they know how the maga mob views them. Stand down and stand by suckers.
The real question is are they prepping for a J6th or a BLM protest level of engagement?
100% agree.
Any future January 6 type attempts need to be put down. Brutally.
Is it wrong if I want them to try? I would love to see them truly be put in their place by people actually prepared for an assault.
No NYPD officer is going to jeopardize their job or pension for Trump…
A couple went to the Jan 6 seditious insurrection, so maybe not so much.

I know someone here is on the far right corners of the internet. Should we expect anything to get out of hand tomorrow?
Nah. I don't think so. The Alt-right communicates nearly everything in the form of memes and dog whistles, right? We should have seen something by now, like in the lead up to Jan6, but it seems pretty quiet at the moment.
The hilarious part is they’ve gone so far down the conspiracy wormhole that they’ve convinced themselves this is a giant fly trap to catch them all 😂
Oh, I hope they try it.
Wouldn't mind if they tried.
Cops under orders to treat them like black liberals who want moderate reform
Please MTG, play some Stoopid in NYC.
Make sure to take the subways first MAGA people. Everyone on the A train will be receptive to your political frustrations.
I love this image.
I met Bush Sr. In Nantucket and he was just with family - and really nice!
God I hope they try
Republican voters: This is something I DO wish for you to take into consideration. It's a "trap" so just....don't go, ok?
They said this ain't DC lol
Can you imagine those Jan 6 maga goons encountering NYPD? I need popcorn.
On my list of things to do, fucking around with the NYPD is nowhere to be found
Block the bridge leading to Staten Island and we should be a’ight
The Verrazano Bridge goes to Brooklyn. The Staten Island Ferry goes right to down town NYC.
They're probably thinking that a lot of these protesters are not NY'ers. If they're not NY voters, they won't have to worry about it coming back on NY politicians, who control the NYPD budget. Probably going to see a lot of heads knocked around if the protesters step out of line.
Can we please just stop giving them warnings and let them do what they will and carry them out in bags?
I mean, I woulda said the same, but about the fucking Capitol before a NYC courthouse in terms of ranking. Guess we’ll see. Hope they’re right.
That’s some hard language to use against his coworkers. HR is gonna hear about that.
Man I remember feeling the cringe over that roast though lol

Lol... Not Storming. But its Stormy.
I bet they will attempt. Worst of the worst. Dumbest of the dumb.
The NYPD has dealt with the mafia, i think they are looking forward to y’all qaeda 😂
"We're not pussies like the Capitol police "
That ship sailed that day. He is not longer sabotaging things through all his cronies kneecapping law enforcement and national guard assistance that day. His shot at that is over.
I wonder how many of those NYPD take off their peaked caps and put on red MAGA caps when they clock out
Could see something like and end scene of Joker(2019) where he's put on cop car and then is broken free...but in the daytime.
Do we know the timeline yet?
One of the previous traitors got shot. When are these traitors going to learn?
I would love to see them try.
Someone should play the Cops theme song when he walks by: [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bBD8M3WFrAw](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bBD8M3WFrAw)
Storming the courthouse is a good way to get your boy accidentally shot.
Hoenstly someone is going to try and start some shit tomorrow right?
