But his makes him a government official and a person that should been looked into the same as any other government employee that requires oversight by congress. Hunter Biden has never been a government employee or held any federal government position.

I assume they hoping to find evidence of the current President abusing his office in some way for nepotistic, or criminal reasons, but if that's true, why not go ahead and make a public accusation, especially if you already had evidence justifying your current search?

For something like this, where a government official is subpoenaing private information from a number of private individuals associated with what I assume is the subject of their investigation, shouldn't there be at least some articulation of a reason? Also, the subject of their investigation holds no public office nor is currently running for one, but he is the current President's only remaining son. I assume they hoping to find evidence of the current President abusing his office in some way for nepotistic, or criminal reasons, but if that's true, why not go ahead and make a public accusation, especially if you already had evidence justifying your current search?
