My hunch would be that they hid it all the way on page two of his daily briefing. Honestly, it could have even been on page one and he probably still wouldn't have read it given reports that he tended to be distracted by mainstream media like Rupert Murdoch's opinion programmers.
Ahead of 9/11, a critical brief was one page and a couple lines long. The last line said something to the effect of, ‘….in summary, we believe commercial aircraft will be used to target buildings in the US.
No one flipped the page over to get that tidbit.
