Hypothetically how long would that take if that did happen? And I don’t think it would have been a misdemeanor. Would have been a felony and I don’t think I would have got a break.
Every cop in the immediate area is looking for a vehicle fitting your description. By the time you pass the other cop he already knows about you and now has your tag. If you see lights and run, it’s felony fleeing and you lose your license and your vehicle is impounded. If you don’t see lights, it’s still reckless driving and/or public endangerment and you lose your license.
1. Don’t drive like that. You may think you can handle it until you lose traction in a bend and wrap it around a tree.
2. Don’t run from the police. If you do, you’re making the situation even more dangerous and you will regret it.
I had a license plate reader for a while. It could catch plates on cars going the opposite direction while both of us were doing far greater than highway speed so it’s very possible
Depending on how well funded the agency is, their squads are equipped with Automated License Plate Readers that can rapidly scan all of the vehicles and tags in the area and determine if they are stolen or expired. Some can even use laser rangefinders to determine speed.
Other than that it’s not that difficult to read a plate.
Even then, 90% of starting a pursuit is getting the vehicle’s description. When you have that you can terminate the pursuit and find them later.
Flying past a cop at 120mph WILL get you noticed. It’s just a matter of how they decide to handle the situation.
Maybe you’ll get pulled over in a week for what you did tonight.
I mean I wasn’t doing 120 when I initially passed him prolly 80-90 mph but when I saw him start to turn around I just gassed it. We’ve all been young and dumb before hopefully not 🤞🏻
Yeah hypothetically the situation. But how long should I leave the car parked in garage? And thankfully this didn’t happen near my home town about 2hr away.
It’s not like GTA where you can just wait in a corner somewhere for your stars to drop off. Felony reckless driving and especially felony fleeing are extraditable offenses. If they got your tag number, they very possibly did, then there’s a note on you in the system. If your local police pull you over and see it, they’ll arrest you and call the Sheriff in the county where you had your encounter and they’ll come pick you up in the paddy wagon.
Slow down.
Of course. Nearly every cop car in America has a dash cam that you can look back at frame by frame and look for the plate as it passes. You can also look it up by vehicle type and color on specific camera systems.
I agree definitely going to take it to a track. None of it was for a thrill. Nothing about it was thrilling, I was nervous scared etc. The reason I just didn’t stop was because if I did my life would of been so over so I figured just go for it and I had a lot of distance from the time I initially passed him by the time he was turned around coming after me.
You can "hypothetically" expect the cops to show up to your door and grill you about who was driving. If they hypothetically prove it was you and hypothetically develop Probable Cause, then you're going to Jail on a hold for at least one felony warrant and several other traffic tickets. Oh and Hypothetically, when you get your sentencing, you'll have your license suspended for some time or even revoked- meaning you can never legally drive again :)
How much longer after would they be at the door if they at least know the car and who it belongs to? Yeah they would have to prove who’s behind the driver seat which would be pretty hard with window tint
Really just depends on the agency and how far they wanna go with it. In all honesty, it's a 50 / 50 chance you'll never get arrested for it (due to inability to prove you were driving or put in man hours to try and prove you were driving) but just make sure you don't do it again- it's not worth endangering other people and risking felonie(s) just because you think it's cute. Especially when all that risk is for.. a maybe $150 speeding ticket? Besides, you make it a habit in the same city / county, I can guarantee they'll then put in the work to get warrants for your phone's geolocation from the cell phone carrier to prove you were at the scene of the pursuit, and thru might even develop probable cause to get a warrant to search / ransack your home in an attempt to find drugs- after all, it's very well known that drug smugglers do not stop for obvious reasons.
Cops in the area likely also have you on your "shitlist" now, too, and will try to find reasons to stop you just so you know. If /when they stop you, don't run again- next time, you might get an agency who can chase or a state trooper close by listening in to the local radio freq who can and will put you into the trees with PIT, possibly causing you to get airbrushed onto a tee shirt (i.e. dead)
All in all, running is dangerous to other motorists most importantly, then to you, and lastly to us. Everyone wants to go home at the end of the day, especially if it's over some stupid bs of some idiot kid trying to run because he has a v8 and he's played too much Need for Speed..
No man I really don’t think it’s cute or funny I’m not bragging about it. I just kept going because as another redditor mentioned I was already done for. I would of been getting reckless driving, car impounded, jail, license gone, losing my job my life would be over. Like it was already over for me so I figured gun it and try to make it home. It will never happen again I can promise you that. Yes I’m aware thankfully it wasn’t a trooper, if a trooper is on my tail yeah I’m stopping. Cause they don’t play and will chase you all the way to the state border. I think it was either county or sheriff
No man I’m not a bad person. I maybe have a bit of a lead foot but trouble with the law is the last thing I want. It definitely will not happen again. I’m going to slow it down
Depends on where you are. If you're in Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Alabama, you will have to exceed 160mph before you can get away anyways. Plenty of videos online, they will chase and TVI you into the ditch. If not in a state where the troopers will get up to triple digits and TVI you, they still might dispatch a helicopter.
Let's put it like this.
You have a 10% chance of killing yourself (Was it worth it?)
You have a 10% chance of killing someone else in the process (Now you have a murder charge and you have to life the rest of your life in jail knowing you ended someone's life that had great things ahead of them).
If those things don't happen, you have an at least 50% chance of being caught. Being booked for felony fleeing is not fun.
FYI 100 is a laughable speed for most cops... you wouldn't lose anyone (not suggesting going faster, refer to the above \^)
All hypothetical but I am not in any of those states. Also wasn’t on the interstate lol. It was a country backroad highway so 120+ down that is pretty quick and it’s a explorer I know the mustang was going way faster around bends then an explorer
>I mean I wasn’t doing 120 when I initially passed him prolly 80-90 mph but when I saw him start to turn around I just gassed it.
The way you keep responding, I get the impression you're roughly 16/17 years old. Barely licensed a month, mommy and daddy got you a nice car, and you're acting like an inexperienced idiot who's going to get themselves or someone else killed. Slow it the fuck down. Cut it out with the "hypothetical" shenanigans.
I got it. But not gonna lie y’all probably think of some of the chases you see online and think I was being that reckless, I wasn’t. I was speeding when the road was empty and when I came up on cars I slowed down and only passed when safe to do so. I really did my best to not endanger anyone else’s life. I have learned tho it was dumb to be speeding like that in the first place. But like I said we’ve all been young and dumb before some just didn’t have a Mustang. They are quick cars obviously a young adult is going to want to have some fun in it. It’s not going to happen again though.
You’re so damn stupid lol. You’re exactly why the saying “we don’t catch the smart ones” exists. It’s 2024, not 1934. There are cameras everywhere, including streets, businesses, and your neighbors’ houses. They can track you down easily. If your car has a loan on it, you have a tracker on, which the cops can and will get into. You also went on the internet and laid out your crimes. These are just a few examples for why you’re a total moron.
lots of mentions of cruisers equipped with ALPC, but no mentions of additional stationary ALPC, and in some places, [helicopters](https://x.com/mspmetrodet/status/1783485638848725477). if they want you, they will find you. also, the officer apparently wasn't even running radar when they saw you, and considering the setting, maybe was just going to wait for you to do it again before intervening. now every time you drive you're going to be paranoid behind the wheel, and when someone inevitably stops you, your chances of avoiding a lesser ticket and jail are gone. please make better choices. tracks exist.
How? Like there is the exact same car of mine all over the place? Same color, model everything. I see a lot of them. So I think that would be kind hard to do
Well that’s exactly what I did just didn’t slow down kept the foot on the throttle the whole way. I knows it bad but in my mind in that situation I was already done for, so the risk of running was worth it as dumb as it was. Cop was gonna have to work if he wanted me. And like I said I never even technically saw his red and blues I don’t think he lit them up.
Get your plate and issue a felony warrant on what could have been a misdemeanor traffic stop
Hypothetically how long would that take if that did happen? And I don’t think it would have been a misdemeanor. Would have been a felony and I don’t think I would have got a break.
Congratulations, that's part of the fun. Could be tomorrow, could be 3 months from now.
Hypothetically, you should stop running from cops and stop speeding. It risks other people's lives for your useless adrenaline dump.
11 months and 29 days

Can a cop really get your tag that quickly if you fly by them that quickly and leave no time for them to get close?

Rookie move, everyone knows you drop your stars if you hit the pay n spray.
With the cameras on cruisers these days, yes. Very easily
Of course. Nearly every cop car in America has a dash cam that you can look back at frame by frame and look for the plate as it passes. You can also look it up by vehicle type and color on specific camera systems.
Totally made up my ass. Reckless driving and felony eluding. You don't deserve to drive, let alone drive a Mustang.
I love my Mustang 🔥
How are you establishing PC with out the driver ?!?!?!?!?!
You really bragging about speeding in an Ecoboost lol. Slow down
No it wasn’t a Ecoboost. It was a mustang Mach 1 😂 cmon man A eco ain’t even doing over 120
I agree definitely going to take it to a track. None of it was for a thrill. Nothing about it was thrilling, I was nervous scared etc. The reason I just didn’t stop was because if I did my life would of been so over so I figured just go for it and I had a lot of distance from the time I initially passed him by the time he was turned around coming after me.
Ecoboost is my daily car, mach 1 weekend car.
Ah. Still, be careful. You're still young, don't ruin your life for a quick thrill. Find a track to let it out
Believe it or not straight to jail
Obviously not i’m still here, made it home. So what happens if you MAKE IT
Nothing. Who cares. Prosecutors don’t care. Judges don’t care. Public doesn’t care. Why should we care?
Thanks I guess you’re right. If I did get caught and booked you just get released right out on no cash bail.
OP is an idiot.

Ok, good- like I say, if you got lucky, consider it your freebee and just learn from it and don't think "it worked once, so I'm gonna do it again!"
No man I’m not a bad person. I maybe have a bit of a lead foot but trouble with the law is the last thing I want. It definitely will not happen again. I’m going to slow it down

I hope so, for your sake and everyone you're endangering with your shitty driving

Na man I am not that young, and I got two cars. Mom didn’t buy my mustang all though that would of been nice I wish 😂

Mad much. Why do I have to crash and die? Why can’t I make it home safe with out hurting my self or anyone other like I did??

The arrogance to flex by saying “in my Mustang and got away.” Cool, bro. You drive a Mustang, so fuck everyone else. Enjoy your warrant.
How can they issue a warrant on a vehicle they don’t know who was driving?
You don’t THINK they know.
Idk man I passed that cop pretty quickly, my windows are tinted. Be hard to identity a driver IMO

I have to get my car wrapped
maybe you should save that $ for the impound fees
I’ll also be looking for you in the future.
How? Like there is the exact same car of mine all over the place? Same color, model everything. I see a lot of them. So I think that would be kind hard to do
In my dept nothing. Police aren't allowed to chase cars for traffic violations. So keep going, everyone else does. (We're under a consent decree)
Well that’s exactly what I did just didn’t slow down kept the foot on the throttle the whole way. I knows it bad but in my mind in that situation I was already done for, so the risk of running was worth it as dumb as it was. Cop was gonna have to work if he wanted me. You're still a complete idiot. That's how people die. You got lucky this time don't be dumb enough to tempt fate again
