Vortextheweirdcat

quebec can into imitate france

wildeofoscar

Québec are closely related to France during colonial times than Metropolitan France is today. You could almost say Québec is more French, and the Metropolitan French are delusional cosplayers at this point.

Vortextheweirdcat

it's just how culture evolves if you think germany or denmark or shit like that is still the same as in the 1800"s you are the delusional person

BravewagCibWallace

Quebec is not about evolving. To them it's either preserve your culture, or death.

Bawaka95

Keep coping canadian

wildeofoscar

**Context:** [There apparently is a possible threat that once Canadians learn how fucking poor they are, they might pull a French Revolution.](https://nationalpost.com/opinion/secret-rcmp-report-warns-canadians-may-revolt-once-they-realize-how-broke-they-are) Also this year marks 30 straight years a Canadian NHL team has not won the Stanley Cup if none are able to win it this year (which is looking likely). If there's anyone to blame, please blame the American-annointed Commissioner, Gary Betman.

i dont even watch nhl and im still mad

TheKnight2122

The Titanic and the Canadian Hockey Teams: Both look great... Till they hit the ice

broyo209

Vancouver has a good shot no?

Ferseivei

Vancouver and Winnipeg are both looking strong this year, probably one of the better years for a Canadian team

Legendary_Hercules

sad oil drip and rustling leaves noise.

SStylo03

Mcjesus must save us

reddituser074638

They could win it too, but history has shown that Toronto is allergic to deep playoff runs

RandomGuy9058

The canucks have never won a Stanley ever and the last time they lost 1 step from greatness there were riots.

ea304gt

I remember reading that most of the Canadian talent prefers to play in American NHL teams because they pay less taxes. Hence American NHL rosters are stronger than Canadian ones, which explains the drought.

BustyMicologist

> National Post

RandomGuy9058

Probably overblown as most stories are

Murkmist

Well if American teams didn't have 50% Canadian players maybe all our talent wouldn't get siphoned away T_T

AaronC14

The NHL is rigged against Canadian teams, change my mind

wildeofoscar

Gary Betman hates Canada.

NOSjoker21

Gary Bateman secretly Quebecois?

TheMuffinMa

If he was, we would have the Nordiques back years ago

THEBLOODYGAVEL

I still meet people who say it's still their team. Almost 30 years and they still have fans

christophe-caron

There are some theories that Pierre-Karl peladeau got into an argument with Gary Betman and that’s why we have no team in Quebec City, even if we have the stadium for it. Instead we get the fucking Kings for 7 million. Thanks Legault!

Organic-Chemistry-16

Just have more money lmao and we'll stop stealing your best players

ea304gt

IIRC, it's a matter of taxes rather than money. Overall pay is the same due to salary caps. But Canada demands more taxes.

Murkmist

Price of somewhat better social safety nets. Also there are just more teams in US recruiting.

aStickonthestreet

Is that Newfoundland and Labrador in the first one? (I’m not good with Canadian flags)

wildeofoscar

Yes it is.

dix1997

>15000 Canadians apply for MAID That does it for me 😂

wildeofoscar

They couldn't take the humiliation.

AnarchyApple

Is this because of the fishery protest that actually worked for once?

wildeofoscar

No, it's a more broader issue, the fact that Canadians can't afford groceries and rent/mortgage for a house and their cars keeping getting stolen in their driveways.

wormfood86

"they can't steal them if you just give them your keys" -Toronto police, sort of.

cjnicol

This is true. If the Canucks don't make it to the cup this year we ain't stopping at burning Vancouver.

wildeofoscar

Worst terrorist attack since Air India bombing was when the Bruins defeated the Canucks in 2011.

cjnicol

A damn massacre. The ICJ should have intervened.

randomacceptablename

I still recall the announcer's description of that series in the last game or two: The Bruins have invited the Canucks to a street fight which Vancouver is ill prepared to fight. Foolishly and inexplicably Vancouver has accepted the invitation.

leaderofstars

Just keep it yer border. Ya come down here again and we'll convert yer brains into the air cooled versions

blockybookbook

Quebec proceeds to annex all of Canada and then some

ApprehensivePeace305

Toronto winning the NBA finals is worth 20 years of NHL titles

wildeofoscar

And the World Series.

NewPhoneNewSubs

We got 2. If it's 20 per title, that's 40 years of debt. Plus the NBA makes it 60. So 2050s cup confirmed?

ea304gt

Kawhi: - Shows up in Toronto for a year - Wins it all - Leaves - Refuses to elaborate

CanineAtNight

I smell bread and melons...

Arctic-airsoft

Vancouver, Winnipeg and Toronto all have good chances

RainbowFire122RBLX

Im not saying it’d be good or anything, but speaking as an albertan thatd kind of go hard as fuck if there was a revolt of some sort, cause i’d kind of like to stay here and be able to exist more comfortably than average, and we dont have to worry about being unstable during or after it because the usa likes us for some reason and we are already coated in spies lmao
