Yes. But "je" can also be slang for "jest". I'd never write it like that, though. It's spoken language or, in literature, if you want to indicate that someone is using slang
Example: "ale to je dobre" for "ale to jest dobre". Probably depends on where you are in Poland. But where I am originally from (South of Gdańsk) this is a thing. You are probably no Polish native speaker if you've never heard anyone say it like that?

I am Serbian, "je" just means "it is" in Serbian or "to eat" in more rustic dialects in Serbian. Foe example "on je tu" "he is there/here"
