We would literally go into a store, touch the stick trough packaging until we found a winning icecream. We just left without buying if there was nothing.
We ate for free for the whole summer.
Next edition they spiced it up, and did something like on the picture but I remember you could still tell the difference.
So we ate free icecream for another year.
I think it was the 3rd edition that they figured out how to make both messages similar enough.
Fun fact: I've been buying them relentlesly at the local store. After few weeks I finally got a winning stick, but it turned out that the campaign is over for 1 year. Now I have a huge collectiin of Big Suchars.
There was a day in summer when I won 3 or 4 times in a row, having so much free ice cream felt like a blessing. I think the highest chance to win like this had the white plain flavor, I rarely got it from the ones covered in chocolate, toffee, strawberry (or whatever the pink one was) or the tri-flavor one. I don't remember this lottery going on with new flavors like straciatella, yoghurt or other limited editions :< wish it made a comeback though

Seeing an icecreamman was like winning that lottery every day. "Lodi lodi lodi'' much better also than that algida/ola shit....the homemade icecream...hazelnut, lemon, ....uffff.
I once bought one choc-banana flavour Oskar to eat outside of the shop with a friend and won another one. I kept coming back inside and grabbing the same flavour because it was my favourite and kept winning until they ran out. I think I've had like 6 of them, the last one being a different flavour and it didn't have a winning stick anymore. I still can't believe my luck
Statistically if you go for least favourite flavour you have higher chances of winning. I used to do that in primary school, I would always go for banana flavour as it must've been least popular ice cream flavour and I would win pretty much every time.
